The place is lovely. I was fooled by the exterior into thinking it was just a local pub. The interior was lovely, as was the staff.

Historic old pub once a stop off by the ford on the river for pilgrims en route to Canterbury! Had a very nice sunday lunch recently

Been coming here for years, ideal for our work lot to come together and raise a glass…or two. Can’t fault the food, friendly staff, live music on a Friday. A family friendly focal point of the local area. Highly recommend.

We have eaten here a few times now, each time was excellent. Had christmas Day dinner, well what can I say - Food aplenty and all very good. Worth the trip here.

Lovely Sunday roast with substantial portions. The beef cooked to perfection. Service a little disjointed due to new staff we understand but we were not in a hurry so it wasn’t an issue. All the staff were friendly and polite and the premises well presented. We have been several times and each time the standards were the same. Would definitely recommend.

Sorry to say been here before and was great. Unfortunately not today We booked a table for 3pm thinking it would be busy, sadly not we were literally The only customers 5 , I have to say the service was not great especially as we were The only ones they had to served ,we had to ask twice could we order drinks , no one Came and asked if our food was ok then didn’t even get asked if we wanted to look At desert menu. There was a older lady there I think owner or boss didn’t even acknowledge Us .. we did leave a service charge but on reflection not sure why .

We found this little gem while doing the London loop . The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially Irene . The food was excellent, we had meze , it was so well presented and delicious. We will return.

We called in here for Sunday lunch today and I can honestly say it’s the BEST pub Sunday lunch I’ve ever had. The service was excellent, food cooked beautifully (they even asked us how we’d like our lamb and beef done) and the Cauliflower Cheese was perfect. It was sad to see it so quiet in there - it deserves to be packed! Spread the word!!! A secret Sidcup gem.

Attended a retirement party, catering was superb.

Can't really make it out?? Rang to enquire about entertainment only to be told pub is shut as they only allow people in for private functions and they have two on tonight ??? Thought a pub was open to all, it appears you have to book if you want to go in.....bizarre

Lovely hidden gem in Sidcup. Service was impeccable and food was lovely! Didn’t realise the garden was so big and a lovely view of the stream. Dog friendly too :) will be returning!

We had our wedding in May 2023, and had the reception and after party hosted at this great pub! During the prep, Helena was very hands on and flexible, provided much needed guidance to us ie with menu planning, sitting arrangementa etc, she also put us in contact with suppliers and managed these relationships ie with venue decorator and DJ. The wedding celebrations went above and beyond our expectations, the food, the service and everything else was above expectations. Thanks Helena and team for the wonderful experience.

Great pub food and service. Well priced too. First visit as it was near the office. But a great pub with friendly staff. And a good menu. I door and out door searing and covered outdoor seating.

Really nice period pub. Friendly staff. Reasonably priced beer. The food was fantastic and I asked for a second helping of the homemade coleslaw. Skin on fries and a decent salad on the side. All in all a very good pub. Other drinkers were very friendly too. If I'm in the area again I will definitely pop back in

Amazing little place - booked in for first slot on Mothers Day, considering 2 of our party were 30mins late there was no pressure on what was a busy day. Service was brilliant. Food excellent. It's unassuming on the outside but if you're passing, pop in because these people care about what they do. Thank you for a great time.

Wow. What a fantastic Sunday lunch we had for 5 . Probably one of the best in fact. Could not fault the quality of the food. Even ask how we wanted our meats cooked. Our rare Beef was delicious along with perfectly cooked Vegetables 🥕. And don’t forget to ask for the cauliflower cheese sooo nice . Also the service was friendly and caring. Big thank to the young man serving us and got my Need for Apple sauce 😀Definitely recommend this Pub/ restaurant….

Friendly, welcoming local restaurant and pub. The menu has a nice selection of food to choose from. Portions are large, food tastes and looks delicious!! This is my second trip to Sidcup area this year and I have eaten here numerous times. Love it.

A good 'proper' pub with good local atmosphere. Lots of special events such as music and quizzes. Garden is need of some tic and the river needs some litter/rubbish removed. Good to see that proper pubs still deliver.

Went to a tribute evening and Christmas meal with our quizzing friends who visit this pub often. It was excellent. The food was absolutely first class and well presented ( Christmas meze, salmon and cheese and biscuits for final course and very generous portions). Well done to the chef. Lots of staff, Good service, no wait and lovely atmosphere in the pub. The singer had an amazing voice as well. All in all, a lovely Erving.

Food was good. Service was good. We were not given a choice of seating and just told to sit outside in the marquee where our evening was spoilt by the loudest most foul mouthed hen party.

Sorry to have to mark this pub down but they only ever have one beer, the rest seem to be lagers, and that's not the best. It's not exactly cheap either. My main complaint about this pub is that there are far too many children running around. It's in a beautiful setting and the food is good.

First time here since lockdown our local walk to pub. The service was not too bad, waited a long time for our food orders to be taken, what was served was not fresh, my chicken had blood in it, the potatoes were reheated and deep fried, yorkshires were tasteless, vegetables were over cooked, and the gravy was like dish water and had fat floating on the top. £25 for 3 courses we left certainly disappointed. You need to retrace your steps when Sunday roast where worth coming out for. Will not be visiting again in a hurry 😠😠

Have used this pub a quite alot in the past as food especially Sunday roast was always spot on. Unfortunately today it was very disappointing, potatoes were cooked I think in the morning and put in a deep fat fryer to reheat ,the Yorkshire pudding was tasteless . The gravy watery and when we left a pot that we didn't use it a film of fat formed over the top not very nice at all . Such a shame at 25 for 3 course plus wine we left very disappointed. Go back to the start when your roasts were amazing

This would have got at least 5 stars, possibly seven, but for the fact there were kids running like crazy around the tables and jumping walls. Pubs are not appropriate places for children to be let alone run wild. Food was excellent, service was great, beer was affordable. I will go there again but hopefully there wont be any unruly kids.

Friendly staff. Food slow to come out and sub standard. I pointed out to a waitress that the potatoes tasted old and the Yorkshire pudding tasted frozen, she said that the pudding was not frozen and that the potatoes 'were peeled this morning'. It's very likely the potatoes were cooked AND peeled this morning and that I had the morning potatoes at 4pm... not that anyone seemed to care about good food quality. Can anyone else taste the difference between food that has been lovingly and carefully prepared and food that is served to accommodate post-pandemic indifference?

Just ordered 4 roast dinner to take away...2 beef ,1 chicken, and a lamb...it was absolutely delicious...the portion sizes were spot on and more than we could eat...loved the way the food was served...it was piping hot...we will be ording again very soon. Many thanks for a superb service.

Arrived to a stoney faced crowd which was far from welcoming. Waited for over an hour for food and there weren't that many people there to justify. The chicken was really dry and tough so much that my fingers hurt trying to cut it up! The roast potatoes were burnt and tasted like they'd been reheated. My daughter couldn't eat it at all. Disappointed as it was £14 per roast.

Went here to try the food partly based on the good reviews here. I don't really understand why people are saying the food is good. It's not awful, but it's just standard issue average pub food. Deep fried stuff with chips. Veggie burger was from the 80s, a token offering of vegetables in batter. We went at a lunchtime, and with Covid restrictions in place we could only sit outside so maybe it's a harsh time to judge.

We visited this pub before Christmas to celebrate a 50th birthday. The food was very good, service very good and staff fabulous, nothing was too much trouble. We felt very welcome and would definitely return soon

It clearly states the pub opens at 10am. I called the main number for a rude women to answer the phone to say the pub doesn't open till 11am and hanged up. Didn't even give me a chance to speak. Customer service is APPALING.

Second time we have been here, and both times Me and the wife have had a very good night. Live music on Saturday and three course set menu £25 per head. The food is very good, staff are very friendly and attentive. We will be going back more often

Although we had pre booked we did so on the off chance, having no idea what the pub was like.A lot larger than we imagined, nicely laid out with plenty of space between tables, very quiet on a Saturday lunch time.Lovely young girl served us, rather limited menu but enough choices for us.Food was good and very reasonably priced.The only beef we had was that it was rather chilly and we put our coats back on.Handy parking just round the corner.Not sure it is a good move to tell the world !!!!

Have driven past this pub / restaurant many times but not gone in wow should have what a nice pub and great food and service. Two had Sunday roast and me and one other had burger and ham egg and chip . It was all so lovely . definitely recommend this to anyone and will be back soon ..

Been a patron here for years, ever since the refurb turning it into the pub it is now (I came here before that too!). Good to see some of the same staff still working here that were here when it re opened, nice to see. Food's great, house red's decent and the bill won't break the bank. The riverside setting is a pleasant bonus too.

Great food. I remember ordering a steak fron the grill in the summer. It was tender, no fat and I would rate as one of the top steaks I have eaten. Served with triple cooked chips and you had food heaven. Sampled with the good selection of beer. Sprinkled with good atmosphere. And topped off with attentive and friendly staff. Look no further for a public house with some panaze.

I have re-visted this pub a number of times over the first couple of weeks.First was for a group booking of 20 for a Saturday nigth that was only booked on the Wednesday.Service and quaility of food was once again amazing and great value. This time we was situated a little way from the entertainment in a seperate room, which was perfect for us all, but from what I could see the singer was really good. I also visited for mothers day, food and service again was very good but adding a £2.50 supplement on for a Beef and Lamb roast pushed the price a little over what others restaurants offering similar service and quality charge.Would most definitely go again to the Saturday night nut would probaly look elsewhere for the Sunday roast.

Very tidy and ha a good Resturant but is still a pub. New play area going in in April so child friendly. Will go again.

Went to the pub for a colleagues leaving do. 16 of us. Preordered all the food. Got there food ready but 2 meals were wrong. Server said when asked about it. You ordered 16 meals you’ve got 16 You’ll have to take it up at the cash desk I’ve other work to do. Can’t believe how rude she was. The pub is right next to where we work but we won’t be going there again!

Great night. Good staff and nice atmosphere.

I imagine that a little while ago, this very old pub had more character, but aside from the black beams, some of its individuality has been masked with a thick coat of clotted-cream coloured paint. The result is a more standardised environment, but it is clean and well run. The bar staff in their smart black shirts and aprons were thoroughly professional and welcoming. The food arrived quickly--perhaps a tad too quickly--and looked nice. The colour of the fish and the chips was uniformly golden, and the presentation--on a wooden board under a sheet of printed paper, with mushy peas and tartar sauce in little pots on the side, and with a slice of lemon--would have looked good on Facebook, I expect.

Warm welcome, choice of food good. Great fruit and crossants upon arrival. Lovely service. Stayed for 5 hours. Would recommend

Me and my 4 friends had xmas dinner at the 7 stars on Saturday. The food and the xmas atmosphere was lovely. The food was to die for. I had the veg tart and the sauce with it was amazing. My friends had the turkey dinner that was so succulent. They went all out to make it xmas for us and the music was great. Cant reccomend it enough. Merry xmas xxx
