Went for a quick bite for lunch with freinds. Very friendly and helpful. Food was great. I had southern fried chicken stripes,chips and gravy and an extra portion of chips. I was to find out one portion was enough 🙄😊. Definitely go again !

Met some friends here for lunch. We were greeted with a warm welcome by a super friendly guy. Service was great. We ordered our food, which came out quickly, and was of a high quality. Lovely atmosphere, nicely decorated and clean. We will be returning. Thanks so much.

Nice pub with a good atmosphere, we went for the quiz on Tuesday evenings and it was good fun! We didn’t have any food but it looks good.

We had a family get together there where we all met up, around 12 or more, unannounced to the pub. They had a wedding on but the staff and landlord could not have been more helpful in accommodating us. We came from all over the country plus one from Singapore so we all arrived at Separate times. We were all brought up around this area so everyone wanted to visit it. Great place

The Anchor hosted my daughter’s surprise birthday party in a room at the back of the pub, you still feel very much party of the atmosphere of the pub. The buffet they served was delicious especially the chicken, staff friendly would definitely recommend this place only wish it was my local.

I tried to book a table for 4 but they were overbooked. We turned up anyway, with the dog after a walk in the woods and were easily accommodated. We had the Sunday roast and everyone was very impressed with the food and the service. I was over the moon as there were two options for a veggie roast dinner - I had the mushroom and stilton Wellington - normally there is no veggie or only one choice. There was even doggie roast dinner at reasonable £2.50, which was also thoroughly enjoyed by my dog. Next time, I'll try booking earlier but my friends are definitely up for another visit.

We received a genuinely warm welcome from Paul and Emma. My pre-booked request to be seated by a window and away from the general area was accommodated in the snug at a reserved table without any fuss. Both Paul and Emma checked that everything was satisfactory with our meals (it was!). The portions were generous, the food was well cooked and presented and we especially loved the chips (I'm a chip connoisseur). My only slight advisory would be to check before ordering exactly which wines/beers are included in the deals on the Blackrose Main Menus because it's really not clear. We are glad to find that a pub we've known for many many years is in good hands and we will look forward to going back again.

Nice atmosphere, well presented food, decor is cosy, classy and smart. Calling it my ‘local’ doesn’t really do it justice. Only down side is they’ve never had the bao buns available

Fantastic service- there was not a vegetarian roast option ,but the chef let us have the vegetarian tart as part of a roast for my daughter. The food was fantastic and staff inc the manager so helpful. My daughter and I had a fantastic time.

Good all-around atmosphere and food was good too.

11 of us decided to book the Christmas Day lunch and it was amazing. Food and service was 10/10 and we’ll definitely be back for more meals in 2024.

Menu was poor booked a table in November for a December dates was given a terrible table by the door so freezing cold and also next to the toilet. Left and went somewhere else won't be going back. Same as used be a nice pub with good food

Never been to the Anchor before, called and asked if there was an area just for drinks, they offered me the snug, it was perfect, the team where so attentive, the service was fab, we ordered food and it was lovely, the chips with blue cheese dressing were to die for. All in all would 100% recommend the Anchor, really nice friendly atmosphere.

Was abit upset as we wasnt told kitchen closed at 8pm and we wanted a pudding. Then we was told we couldnt even get a coffee as they had turned the machine off. Think they should have said when we ordered the food. It was also my friends birthday.

Had my daughters baby shower here today the staff were so helpful and friendly. Lovely food and atmosphere. 😊

Awesome food friendly atmosphere

This pub used to serve great food, but the last time we went it was awful. The portions were very small, the beef burger we ordered was simply a bun and one of those thin beef burgers you get at a school canteen, the southern fried chicken in the two other burgers ordered were so small and thin it basically constituted just breading and no chicken. There was nothing else to the burgers, no lettuce or anything. Just meat and a bun and a few Chips. Definitely not worth £50 with non alcoholic drinks. Will not be going back

Went for a quick bite to eat and had 3 small plates of food, I must say these were delicious and quite filling, we thoroughly enjoyed them. On a separate note the place is spotlessly clean. Well worth a visit we will be back

We tried the new menu at the Anchor on April 29th. The food was FANTASTIC, the service was quick and friendly. Lovely atmosphere too. I can't fault this pub, and find myself coming back more often. I recommend the Bao buns, and the chicken wings. The small plates are what we ordered, as seen in our photos, and they were all nice. 10/10 will be going back again.

Great family venue for food. as a family we went to this venue in Bexley on a gorgeous sunny weekend. We sat out in the garden without any issues of any dogs running round or any issues of loud people. It was peaceful, relaxing and very enjoyable. All the staff, very friendly, smiling and happy, made the atmosphere perfect. It was a Sunday so, of course we had the roast dinner and the whole family even a child had a smaller portion and it was perfect. I even noticed they did a roast dinner for the dogs what are unique idea. Just like to say well done to the team. There will definitely be back again next time you’re in the area.

We visited this Sunday. And can’t express how amazing the Sunday roast was. This is My 6 year old favourite place for a roast! The Yorkshire pudding are beautiful. The service is the best. They do get busy but understandably beocuse how nice the environment is. Will definitely be returning!

Came for Sunday lunch and it was lovely. Staff were friendly and accommodating and service was quick considering that the pub was full. Food was delicious and will definitely be back.

Whilst the local is good for weekday or evening meals.. the last two times we’ve been for Sunday lunch have been disappointing.. the first time we ordered roast beef.. but couldn’t eat it as it couldn’t be cut so lunch was refunded but not just for us but a whole host of other customers.. this time there was NO beef or gammon so 2 out of the 3 choices not available at a 2pm sitting! So not impressed. I ordered roast chicken breast and got what looked like the fillet from the breast so had to ask for more chicken! My husband ordered a pie as the option he wanted wasn’t available but had to return the pie as it resembled a brick! Only to order a burger and chips.. which was ok. Having said that about the poor food the staff were happy and understanding to try and accommodate us… well done them. This will never be a Sunday lunch first choice ever again

Come one day for lunch it was beautiful decided to bring more family for dinner absolutely terrible service ,food Service had to eat meal separate as order was taken incorrectly and Had to wait 30 minutes for the other food to come up

I visited The Anchor pub in Bexley with my daughter and her partner. We were really impressed with the food. It was tasty and very fresh and good service. The pub is also dog friendly which is a bonus. We will definitely be returning.

Waited over a hour for 2 ceaser salads with chicken and a bowl of nachos, when the food turned up it was pathetic all of 8 nachos with some slop and the salads might have as well been soup so much water in the bottom...

Firstly arrived at 11:57 which I know was early but was greated with ‘We are not open yet’ which admittedly we were 3 minutes early and asked whether I should go back outside was answered with you can sit down (in the area we booked)...

OK for a pint but please do not stay for lunch. I had a roast dinner with chicken and it was inedible. I'm really not that fussy either. Staff were really nice but service was pretty bad.

Great place to go for a quiet lunch and glass of wine.

It's been many years since I have been and it is so nice in there. Staff are friendly and attentive, taking drink and food orders quickly. There is a really good choice of food, lots of variety. The decor is modern and contemporary, nice setting and facilities. Large garden, perfect for warmer weather.

We stopped off for a drink and some food on Saturday night around 6.30, pub was packed which was good to see. Good selection of beers. Struggled to find a table as most were reserved, which is odd for a local boozer. Couldn't figure out...

I was very disappointed with our experience. I booked a table for 6 and on arrival 4 guests had arrived . Staff had to move tables around to accommodate which I thought would have been done prior our arrival . The food orders and all came out so staggered some had already finished the meal . The fish and chips looked nice but was greasy, the Combo was very expensive for what is was.. The table were like rocking boats and not once were we asked if our meals were ok ... They did apologise for the delay and staff were polite which made things easier ...

Very friendly staff who are quick to take your order. A good variety of drinks. Food is decent as well. The pub itself is well decorated and has a contemporary feel with the garden being very pleasant. Toilets are clean. Would recommend visiting.

Very poor service if sitting gin the garden. I like to be able to talk to staff when ordering food and drinks to make changes but everything is run through the useless app... when ordering drinks we had to add a dash of soft drink separately couldn't make any alterations on the food via the app. Over priced for pub grub although the food wasn't bad but did not match the price.... table service outside please its not difficult some what lazy doing it through an app I expect this in a weatherspoons not and expensive pub.

What a lovely welcome I got walking to to a to long lost friend it seem so long since I was here last year when we where locked dons just before Christmas but the welcome and Quality of service food and drink is exceptional this Establishment who only going to be better when lockdown this more people eat and drink inside that Mrs place book a table come and enjoy

Still nice food but charged 6 quid for 3 little strips of chicken. Used to be healthy sized portions now it looks like their trying to squeeze more money out of it. Who I think was the manager, not sure since I can't keep up with who's running it anymore, came over and said he's had no complaints since starting just before Christmas but that would make it 2 weeks? Not how I remember the anchor to be. Disappointed

Stopped by today for a meal with my family and have got to say, the team was amazing! I’m so glad they tried their best with reopening and everything being so stressful considering the current climate during this pandemic. I don’t know if it’s where I personally work in this field so I know what their going through but it’s not hard to try to be understanding and considerate.Obviously it’s early days so let them get back into the swing of things and I’m sure you’ll never regret it much love toward the anchor team. You guys can do it ❤️

Service terrible, food average.This should have been an event welcoming customers back, it felt like it was a favor me being there.When this pub first opened up under Blackrose the service was amazing, it really was a great experience, it has gone rapidly down hill.I thought the re-opening would have given an opportunity to change but it didn't. The pub has such potential to be both a food destination pub and a great community pub for local family's but it isn't hitting the mark

Each time I have been in The Anchor I have felt really comfortable and welcome. Their selection of drinks is great - as too is their menu. Can't wait to visit again!

Very disappointed in our trip yesterday.... Looked forward to a lovely roast dinner. We ordered the roast beef and lamb shank roast. Waited 1 hour to receive two roast dinners served in bowls!?!? Both were swimming in gravy so it looked more like a soup. The beef was awful so much so that the chef agreed! Everything else was just floating in gravy so soggy it was the worst roast dinner I've ever had. Never had a roast dinner in a bowl before. One dinner was refunded as the beef was awful!! Will not be going back.

Just had an early evening meal with the family. The Anchor was reasonably busy and there was a nice atmosphere. Covid regulations were pointed out by staff on entering and were being followed by all customers and staff alike. The rAnge of food was good. Portions were plentiful - fish and chips highly recommend ( call me boring!) Will definitely return soon.

Excellent service from very professional and friendly staff and landlady. Social distancing is being managed really well and you can easily feel safe and confident to eat here. Portion sizes are very generous and reasonably priced. In addition to the children's menu, some items on the main menu can be served as a half portion if you ask. They also lay on an excellent spread for a wake.

Visited today with a friend for drinks in the garden. After waiting ages to be seated I eventually had to go to the bar to get attention. We were taken to the garden and were told someone would be along to take our order. This didn’t happen and I had to chase down a member of staff to get them to take our order, which also took forever. To add insult to injury, when I went to pay, no one seemed interested and then found the person that took the order hadn’t even put it on the system! Could have walked without paying. Terrible service.

Very poor service...shown to garden and told someone would come and take our order, after 20 minutes my friend had to run after a waitress to get her attention to order some drinks. Still waited for ages. Then when we got up to go , went to pay and was ignored by bar staff and then told that there was no record of our drinks being ordered. Wish we hadn't bothered trying to pay !! Very poor service not going back

I hate it when you go out for lunch and wish you hadn’t bothered as you could have cooked better at home. Oh my god! This was not the case today at the Anchor in Bexley, the food was outstanding. Compliments to the chef, we had Scallops, Halloumi Fries, duck rolls, chips and chicken with gravy. Mmmmmmm ♥️

First time we went there food was excellent could not fault it . Second time there steak must of been left in the blood for a long time food tasted rank

One of the top pubs in Bexley. The food is superb and it is a family-oriented pub. It has supported Isolation HELP Bexley service with keeping food which simply epitomised its support in the local community. It has stringent measures for Covid with track and trace, sanitizer and one-on-one out. Great pub.
