The Railway Tavern, a friendly pub that has beer, wine & live music on tap and an atmosphere to die for. The manager, Laura is absolutely to die for. Friendly, accommodating and a genuinely lovely person. All bar staff are great as well happy and friendly. Nothing is too much. Great pub 5/5

We only had drinks which were very nice.

Visited the Tavern yesterday whilst waiting for a train. What a fantastic traditional pub, the beer and service 100% and the landlady has done a fantastic job of decorating for Christmas. Brilliant.

Frequent of a Friday afternoon after work and have 1 or 2 beers . Always welcome atmosphere is amazing

Early in the day so not busy. Staff friendly and efficient. Beer was pukka.

Good ambience, felt welcome, beer as it should be. Band played well, despite using drum machine, good selection of songs, but most importantly they entertained. Noticed alot of couples in there who were obviously enjoying themselves. It wasn't a busy night anywhere in the village, but the railway tavern had an excellent atmosphere. Felt good.

Went to this pub with friends on Saturday night 6th April. Great evening and great live entertainment. Bar staff and landlady so efficient and friendly. Might go under the radar a bit in Old Bexley but well worth a visit. Many Thanks.

A PROPER PUB! I really enjoyed my visits when working in nearby Erith. It's the best Pint of Moretti I've ever had. The bar has various seating arrangements from a stool at the bar or a high table at the window with more snug seating elsewhere. There's a patio-ed Beer Garden too with plenty of seating and heaters. You might get to meet (the love of my life and I can't remember her name!)... The pub dog. My first visit, a Sunday, had a fantastic Italian woman singing. And then I think on the following Thursday there was a blues guitarist called Nick. Really good. Thank You.

The rudest and most hostile staff ever

This is a fun and friendly night out - really welcoming and lively music. Recommend visiting at the weekends.

Beware the price hike at 9pm. Example; Madri already dear at £5.20 goes up to £5.50. I consider Madri as run-of-the-mill suds, rather than the "exotic" beer its priced at. They say it shuts at midnight, but you can't get in after 11pm, so therefore it shuts at 11pm. The time the bar shuts is irrelevant if they don't let you in. Bexley village tried this stunt before about 15 years ago and collectively all the pubs lost business over the long term because people go there because if one pub is naff you could walk over to another one, now you can only go home. They never warned us of the price hike until I got my change, and only found out about the early closing when a doorman refused me entry on the previous week, who rudely said that I knew that already, which I didn't. In other words insinuating that I was a bad guy for "trying something on". Doorman should just do their job without issuing moral judgements especially when they're wrong. Luckily I won't need to get in there with these prices.

Went there to support band and yet land lady very rude , gave custom allnight and yet when popped out wS not allowed bk In as bouncer very rude and arrogant. Don't visit not worth feeling demoralised

Turned up for karaoke as been told how good it is. Myself and wife needed a night out so the railway it was. Was greeted by pigtails and little clothing and a hello darling what we drinking. (Was asked instantly to but this barmaid a drink) had even taken my order. Was not impress or was the wife. Other barmaid very friendly and more on the ball.

had the worst experience ever do not recommend!! the bouncers were vile, rude and aggressive! they denied me entrance even though it was MY ID. one of the male bouncers then barged into the female toilets and the door went straight into my friends arm she asked for an apology and they was so rude about it!

Review of The Railway Tavern, Bexley Village. Me and wife went there for the first time, on a Sunday night in March 2022 - having heard they had karaoke. Arrived about 7.30 and it wasn't very busy so we got high chairs at the bar. DJ Duncan was already set up on a stage in the corner; he does a regular Sunday night session until 11pm. It's a bright, nicely laid out pub on the High Street, unsurprisingly round the corner from Bexley Rail Station and handy for buses including the 229. By 8.30 it was busy and by 9 it was HEAVING, mostly with the late 20's crowd but a fair few coffin dodgers (like us!) and one or two harmless weirdies. The hard working barmaids were run ragged. Great music and singers (mostly, but, well, it is karaoke!). Drink prices reasonable; £10 for a single Bacardi, a bottle of coke and a pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord (which was excellent!). A great night out. Recommended.

Old man manager, very rude and unprofessional. Definitely an old man's pub who favours the regulars. My friend was on on all fours on a very sturdy table, dancing, whqn the miserable old man comes out and said "my tables aren't that sturdy!' in a serious tone. Complained that's he always receives people from lanyard Lane after their brunches. I think this old sour puss should appreciate the custom

Staff were amazing just some of the customers were horrible accusing my friends of taking drugs. Won't be visiting anytime soon

I tried to book up front and was advised that this was not possible and the tables were walk in only. So on the day (Sat 22nd May) I went into the pub as a ‘walk in’ at 5.45pm to see what was available. To my pleasant surprise there was a table in the bar for 4 free. I asked the barmaid if I could have it and she said she would have to ‘check with the guv’nor’. At this point the barmaid was approached by someone from the garden for a drink and she simply offered the table to the people from outside in front of me; they accepted and she then turned to me and said ‘sorry, there’s nothing free now’. The most ridiculous and contradictory situation in the face of of what the owner had told me, which was that it’s walk in. Disgusting and rude behaviour, and now as a local, I’ll never go in there again and will make sure all my local friends know how disgusting the service is in this establishment.

Nice village pub, has made the effort to open after Covid by adapting rear of pub with covered heated area served by bar staff. Prices are probably best in Bexley so worth a visit.

I’ve never had a drink in this pub but decided to end an evening out with my friend last Saturday 29 August, so pleased we did. Earlier that day we popped into another pub in the high street, a long established place on opposite side of road. Such an unwelcoming place and with staff who were not interested in letting us have a couple of drinks before dinner as we hadn’t booked (there were plenty of free tables at this point). I pointed out the tables and said we’d only be there for one so they reluctantly agreed. We drank and left for our meal. Once we’d eaten my friend suggested a drink in The Railway, it was like night and day. We were made to feel very welcome and although there wasn’t a table free the lady assured us if we went outside as soon as a table became available she would come and get us. No sooner had we sat down she arrived and told us a table was free. The bar staff were happy and friendly. Such a nicer experience than the beginning of that day and now I’ll never drink anywhere but the Railway if I’m in the High Street.

It might be another fifteen years before we go back, but it seemed quite pleasant and a good pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord which is always a good thing.

What a lovely pub. Safe but not too regimental. Social distancing observed without being Unenjoyable. Great staff behind the bar willing to help with everything. Great little boozer. Great atmosphere

The pub looks rather different with anti-virus precautions, but nevertheless there was a festive atmosphere. Everybody was glad to be back and working around the new restrictions. While they are rigorous about hygiene, there is still the traditional pub atmosphere

Fantastic local pub, recently completely renovated to a clean high degree. Live band's play every week creating a real "night out" atmosphere . Plenty of staff so no waiting ages to be served really great beer. Highly recommended if you visit Bexley.

A great atmosphere on a Friday with a decent covers band playing live lending to a more mature clientele. The under 30 brigade tend to amass at The Miller's. Reasonably priced bar too.

The Railway Tavern is much improved in recent years, a decent re-fit and good bar staff have gone a long way to freshen the place up and improve the ambience.

First time here with my best friend. Really lovely atmosphere. Bar staff friendly and landlord ( i presume) went out of his way to make 2 newbies feel comfortable. Highly recommend!

We went here with friends before going to dinner. I think it’s recently been refurbished so was nice and clean. It had a friendly atmosphere with good waiting staff.

Best music venue in bexley on Friday nights. The landlord also a musician. Great pub anyway. Recent refurb (which was long overdue) has made a real difference. Service excellent. Don't take my word for it, try it yourself.

Fridays and Saturdays are the best times to visit for a night out,as on Saturdays there's no entertainment and it's quiet.

The reason to visit has gone, the Thai staff have left the establishment.and they have removed all evidence of thier presence.

A primera vista un pub básico, pero la cerveza es buena y la comida es maravillosa. El personal de catering del lejano oriente y el catering tiene una clasificación la comida sea de 5 estrellas. La comida que tenía era fresco y cocinado en la demanda. Ofrecen un servicio para llevar.

El pub ha visto días mejores, la primera cosa que notas es que es necesaria una renovación completa, pero si no que sería llevar su encanto, me recuerda a los viejos pubs calle de South East London hace 50 años. Las bebidas son el mismo precio que otros bares de la zona y la selección disponible es buena, normalmente hay uno o dos cervezas. No Comida tailandesa desde el almuerzo hasta las 9:00 pm creo que es muy buen valor por la cantidad y calidad que se obtiene. Hay un pequeño jardín de cerveza mal cuidado de la parte trasera. Los caballeros deben estar en el top 6 para el peor en pubs bexley. Hay alguna forma de entretenimiento musical tres noches a la semana y noche poker es jueves. Tienen una cerveza barata y lager hasta las 7 pm. La mayoría de los clientes son gente normal y hay un montón de bromas entre ellos. Me gusta el ambiente es un pub casi en una cápsula del tiempo.
