We booked the function room for a funeral. At a very stressful time for me and the family Kelly made everything so easy and straight forward from booking music photos teas and coffee food and bar. Before hand I was shown the room and asked how I would like it set up. It was big enough for our party of all ages around 60 there was plenty of seats. The food we arranged before hand was plentiful and just what everyone needed. The bar staff were great so respectful. I would like to thank Kelly and her staff who did the bar and the people who did the food on a very difficult day you made it very special thank you

Lovely Thai food and brilliant pub atmosphere

Stayed there one christmas... Lovely little double room perfectly located in the middle of the village. Was able to park and have a few drinks without any worries about driving.

The Thai cuisine is some of the best I have experienced outside of Thailand itself - if you want something authentic and Thai Spicy as described - go for the orange curry. Amazing stuff. See you again soon.

Been in this pub many times, please don't change it. Low ceilings oldie worldie sort of place. The menu looked good, too, but we didn't have time to try it.

Booked my hubbys wake here: buffet food ordered, which was reasonal at a pph and no additional charge for the use of the function room with dedicated bar staff for an open bar. The landlady went over & above to get everything just as I wanted, no detail being too small, and she checked on me throughout the day and allowed us to leave flowers & photos there until the next morning. Callum, our barman, was friendly and efficient as well as being a great mixologist, so if you fancy a cocktail, hunt him down. The buffet was excellent and surpassed our expectations- all in all a great place to feel welcomed whatever your event! Function room was clean & tidy and nicely arranged with dedicated outside seating and an undercover smoking area. While organising the wake I ate at the Thai restaurant and the food was excellent. I could not recommend this place more and they helped with a great send off for my hubby.

Nice little pub in the heart of Bexley village, we had an event in their function room which comfortably fits 40ish people. The pub provided buffet food and have a good selection of drinks.

This pub looks very small but has a function room on the side.the pub has no disabled toilets or if so I couldnt see them. The womens toilets are very small 2 cubicles very tight squeeze in if more then 2 people in there and only 1 sink basin with only hot water to wash hands and not the cleanist of toilets.the pub does have a range of nice drinks and I didn't have to wait to long to be served. The staff are very friendly and the age range is very mixed.i would recommemd the pub but would.need to remember the squeeze in the toilets.i attended a function and the food spread they laid out was fantastic the tables looked lovely.i have also drank in the main pub and that's a nice size.

A true hidden gem, this Thai Restaurant is superb. The staff are very polite and attentive. The food is fresh and very well cooked, tasty and well priced. I will definitely be returning for another meal.

This place is a hidden gem. The food is absolutely beautiful and the staff are polite and attentive. The only potential issue is that you have to get your drinks from the pub next door, and if you go on a busy evening (Friday / Saturday) you could be waiting some time to be served. There is a bar in the restaurant so I’m not sure as to why you can’t get a drink from there.

Good food good beer good service

Without mentioning my views on the Monarchy or where the actual King's head should be or indeed where it is; This is a great stay. Room 7 is on a courtyard at the rear of the pub and the Thai Kitchen. It's a red tiled courtyard with tables and chairs And ashtrays! It's a small room, maybe 3.5M x 3.5M but really well fitted. A small table and stool is the perfect spot for your Netflix & Chill and the heating is generous. As is the cooling. The bedside table and lamp are perfect and with 3 power sockets and 2 USB ports, you're all good. There's also a Kettle with tea and coffee. (Nescafe and Lichfields Fairtrade) on a table in the corner, where there's another double socket. The bathroom is small. The toilet is quite close to the wall but surprisingly it's not too close. I reccomend facing forward to save having to use the bog brush too much. The hand basin has a really nice mirror above and the hot water is hot! The shower is perfect. Lovely sliding door and a detachable shower head for thorough washing of your intimate places. Shampoo and Bodywash provided. But! This room has a secret. The bed. I will say nothing other than I have never slept so well. Skylight Window Sometimes I think I've said too much! Although I have been told I can have half a beer for writing a review. 🤓 Had to show the Doner Kebab from Chargrill just down the road. They haven't promised a free kebab but I will try and get something for nothing. 🥰

Great place for food and drinks.

Is was an OK type of place, nothing grand. Some of the young drinkers obviously had a drink too many and were being a Tad juvenile. A fight started out the front. I would not go there again (out of preference) much too noisy, with juvenile drinkers a plenty, sorry Kings Head.

Went out with friends for a meal and the food was soooo good. Great choice on the menu and all the food was freshly cooked and very tasty. Would definitely recommend.

I visited the Thai Spicy restaurant within the Kings Head pub, really nice food, very tasty and big portions, extensive Thai menu great service and atmosphere.

Very cramped room. Not good if you are over 180cm tall. Toilet in the room has no ventilation apart from the door. It has a car park it would be nice if there were spaces saved for residents. Had to park on the street, 300 meters away. Not good when you are disabled. To get to the rooms is going past the kitchen with extrater fans blowing.

My room was great for the price, nice and clean and comfy bed. All you need for a overnight. Plenty of refreshments and facilities. Parking was a bit of a nightmare just from other people parking badly, but staff were so helpful. The local area had some great entertainment for a Thursday night.

Great pub, best in the area by far. Was working in Bexley for the week & we made it our local. Kelly is a great landlady & the staff are all lovely. 1 of the girls got me onto Jaffa Cake gin & I'm addicted. Thai foods amazing. Proper boozer with some great characters. Can't wait to be working down here again. Thanks Kelly.

Another great meal had here, the food is all freshly cooked, we shared starters that all had different amazing taste, tempura prawns, fish cakes, salt and pepper ribs, Thai style dumplings and a spicy sausage. The morning glory dish with pork belly is the best we’ve ever tasted and we’ve had lots after visiting Thailand a few times. Pearl was lovely to speak to about the food, you can see the passion see has for it. We bought friends with us that were very impressed. Defiantly worth a try!!!!

Had a lovely family meal in the Thai restaurant. Menu was varied, authentic, and delicious! The sea bass was ridiculously good and very good value for money. Strongly recommended.

Booked twin room, we're given "small double", not good for 2 over 6 footers! Shower door broken in single room, communal toilet dirty, no soap or towel communal bathroom. Kettle doesn't fit under tap🤣 Otherwise, lovely quaint pub, couldn't help the heat wave weather, so room stifling, good staff Thanks for your reply. It was room 3 that had broken shower door, didn't report at the time as left before staff around in the morning. Thanks for the kettle advice but 2 small bottles of water aren't enough for our 4 cups of tea/coffee as well as to drink during the night! We bumped into a member of your kitchen staff late evening and he told us the single (dirty) communal loo was not for guests to use, so we didn't 😅 As rather large tall people I'll check bed situations more carefully in future😅

Stayed overnight. Smallest room ever!! The double bed was pushed against the wall so had to climb out the end. Only the bed and chest of drawers in the room, no space for anything else. No window except a sky light n the roof which didn't open. An enormous fan provided, which sounded like a jet engine so couldn't use at night. It could only circulate the already hot air in the tiny room anyway. The room was claustrophobic. It has since occurred to me that in the event of a fire in the room or the short corridor outside the room there is no way out as there is only the door and there is no opening window. I doubt if that is even legal for a hotel. Spider in the shower room on arrival, mouldy grout in the shower. The TV was so high on the wall you'd get neck ache looking up at it and it was at right angles to the bed. A couple of positives: the bed and pillows were clean and comfortable, towels soft and tea and coffee was provided in the room. At £80 the room was seriously overpriced.

Went for a birthday meal with friends. Initially there was a mix up over tables; two of us were shown to a table on one side of the pub, whilst the rest of our party was sitting on the other side! The food was plentiful and very good in quality, quantity and price. I would have preferred proper chairs as perching on a stool for a couple of hours was not comfortable. Shame, as the rest of the experience was fine. The pub itself was far too crowded and noisy for our liking, so we finished the night at a nearby hostelry with plenty of seating and a live singer.

The service was excellent (Pearl) and the food was totally fab and authentic… we are looking forward to a return visit…

Brilliant traditional pub run by wonderful kelly and her team. Ingenious Kelly introduced Thai food ( and it’s kick arse) what a genius move from an already great pub. I get in in when ever I can. Reasonable pint prices and great vibe. Keep going Kelly, proper pub and grub. I never stayed just visiting on way home from work, so I cannot comment on rooms etc. Pub is 5 star so is Thai food

Used this bar off and on for thirty years, went to meet friends for a reunion, staff were indifferent, tables sticky and the toilets were disgusting, heard people talking about the food which they said was excellent, must admit looked gorgeous.

We hired the private function room for my mums wake, and I can’t fault Kelly and the team. The buffet was plentiful, fresh and varied. My auntie is gluten free and they offered to cook her anything from the menu, in the end she settled with sandwiches they made so many she took the rest home. Arriving after the funeral we were all very fragile but Kelly was so warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Kayla and Katy in her team made sure drinks were flowing and cleared empty plates efficiently. Thank you so much for everything and the next time we hire your function room I hope it will be on happier circumstances.

We popped in for some Thai food and a drink on Sunday evening. Decent prices on drinks and food, alongside friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. We had tempura prawns and salt & pepper ribs to start - both delicious and great with a pint. Generous mains were chicken with cashew nuts and grilled pork neck. Bit of coconut rice to round things off. All tasty and well presented. This was a great spot for a tasty bite and pint, really well priced and relaxed. We’ll be back.

Met up with some old friends at this pub on lovey sunny evening. Beer was great, service was excellent. The big surprise was the Thai food we order, it was delicious.

Great hidden gem. We went for the Thai food at the restaurant area. The food was great. With a good varied selection. The garlic chilli squid was nothing short of amazing! They offer take away service, and not on delivery sites. We will return soon!

The Thai food is absolutely amazing. Freshly cooked and full of authentic flavour, served beautifully with care and attention. The prices of the food are very reasonable compared to Thai food elsewhere and the range of choices left us having difficulty making our decisions. Absolutely delightful!

Had a really lovely Thai meal. Everything served was fresh and extremely tasty. The Thai Restaurant in the Kings Head has only been open a while and is well worth a visit.

Long time fan and customer of this pub, went with friends and had 2 large Hendricks and Tonic 1664 and IPA £ 32.00 .. really please comment..am I wrong in questioning the price!

Staff were friendly and it is an interesting old pub, with a good selection of beers, and a Thai restaurant inside. Thai food and service were both excellent. Hard to really criticise the room as it cost £60 a night, (though we have stayed in a Gatwick Premier Inn for £39). However, it was cramped and quite basic. Clean sheets and a comfy bed, but room not serviced during our stay, no hairdryer despite 3 requests, no heating, a window that wouldn't shut fully, and a shared toilet down a corridor, that ran out of paper. Staff said they were very busy running the pub downstairs. Overall 3 star as it wasn't too costly.

A last minute decision but so pleased we had Thai food for lunch in the King's Head Pub in Bexley. The food was amazing & the lunch menu prices very reasonable. Would definitely recommend!!!

Ok here I go again sorry mr Coverdale, but it’s true. The kings head has great hospitality Kelly and her team keeping us well watered then the food. Well Tamarind duck is my new descovery and it’s lovely and good for you tamarind is healthy. The chilly and basil pork belly, they got the pork belly crispy and it has the sauce. Fantastic surpasses my last time which I did not think. Get yourselves downt to Bexley village the Kings Head you will not be disappointed 👍🏻

Today the amazing staff at the Kings Head welcomed us like family. We used their function room to gather after my late Aunts funeral. The food was beautiful to look at and wonderfully fresh , tasty and plentiful ! The room was warm and immaculately clean and the whole party was very well cared for throughout the afternoon. Thank you for making a stressful time so pleasant and relaxed. I can't recommend the room , staff and food highly enough.

The daughter chose this place. I assume it's both Thai food and the pub because they are now strapped for cash after Convid. Good service. The seating area is fine, but not inspiring, and a bit gloomy. I normally don't choose to eat out unless on holiday, because it's all a bit unnecessary when I've just spent £180 in the supermarket the day before, especially in the current, manufactured climate we find ourselves in. In summary, the food's fine, and the pub retains much of its old charm. Bexley village is quaintly attractive, especially since it's not that far from pony areas like Plumstead.

The pub is in a great location however experience marred by one member of staff who was so miserable looking and that showed in her attitude and work! otherwise lovely place, all the other staff were lovely & friendly. The Thai Food was served with love and real affection ...thank you... I've eaten a lot of Thai food, including in Thailand! this food rates up there with real genuine Thai food.

I love Thai food and this does not disappoint. A varied menu and it tastes authentic, great ingredients too. I can only assume that people don't know about this place yet because it deserves to be much busier. You can sit in the back of the pub or get take away. Today we sat in and the Thai lady serving us was so friendly, polite and went out of her way be welcoming. I got a lovely mothers day plant from her too! I'll be back and I'm spreading the word! Use it or lose it and I'd really hate to lose something so excellent.

Luxurious, small room in a great location

With friends we had our first taste of the food from Thai Spicy at The Kings Head for a Friday lunch. We all had starters and main courses the food was very well presented and very tasty. The service was exceptional by a very friendly lady who made us feel very welcome. I'm sure we will be returning in the not too distant future.

Went for a birthday dinner and had a great time! Although you had to get your own drinks from within the pub the server kindly gave us water. Despite the pub at front the restaurant is peaceful and quiet. The starters were crunchy fresh and hot. The main meal absolutely phenomenal. The one server who served us was patient and lovely. I would highly recommend and will be coming back for my own birthday!

We love this pub, all year round, any time of day. It is a truly local pub and the entertainment always brings much happiness to everyone. We also just had a bit of a Sunday Thai food banquet which was especially delicious (thank you, Spicy Thai team). Highly recommend stopping in.

There is parking if you are driving and the staff are friendly the food was delicious and tasty we had satay and spare ribs and prawns for starters I had jasmine's rice and steak meat for main course the environment is not noisy we can hear each other as we talk laugh good music played in the back ground. I will definitely come back again.
