Awful, drinks spilt all over food and refused delivery

I have been a customer at Costa Bexleyheath for many years. I have frequently found it to be a friendly and courteous place with attentive staff and good food and drinks. However, today was disappointing due to one particular female member of staff). I had come with a few friends for a coffee and cake. It was admittedly after 3.15 pm on Sunday afternoon 24/11/2024.I appreciate that businesses need to “wind down” by 4 pm on Sunday. When we purchased our coffee, we we were advised that our goods would be in take away cups.That was fine. However, we sat down at a table in the costa cafe. There were other customers in there at the time. We were enjoying our coffee and chat. We knew that we were not going to stay for ages. However, a certain female member of staff very abruptly and rudely told us that the place was going to shut soon and we had to move: . We as customers are not daft. We acknowledge that it was near closing time and we were quite prepared to move. However, the way in which this young lady spoke to us was not acceptable. It was rude, brash and frankly made me feel that the presence of the costumers was a “ blooming inconvenience”. I understand she and businesses have a job to do - and there are rules and regulations. However, this young lady’s approach and lack of interpersonal/ customer service skills was shocking. In comparison, the same afternoon- I accidentally had a spillage of coffee There was a young man who was working there also who was very attentive and helpful. He was happy to help.(!in spite of being near closing time). I commended him for his help and good customer skills ( and said it was sad that other members of staff did not adopt the same approach). The young lady rudely tried to get us out. She said that. “ they were under pressure from management”! While I completely appreciate the pressure that we are under as employees (being an NHS worker,) there is absolutely no excuse for rudeness. I’m afraid I advised your female colleague quite firmly that pressure or no pressure from management was not an excuse for making people feel that they were an inconvenience and herded out like cattle. I hope that this can be seen and used as a learning and training opportunity. Thank you

I've tried this costa many times and each time the coffee is burnt. I gave them the benefit of the doubt but the baristas need some training. Won't be returning.

Asked for a frappe with no cream and a flat white. Got a frappe with cream and a latte cleaned my own table. Because the lady behind the counter was too busy drinking her own frappe. They couldn't get such a simple thing more wrong

Good food and service in pleasant surroundings

Toastie and hot chocolate were great. Drink nice and hot. Delivery driver was prompt and very friendly

Here the staff doesn’t care about customers,they are so unhappy but their their choice to be there , not customers fault.

Both of the coffees were spilt over everything else so the whole order was ruined

takes a fair time to deliver from Bexleyheath but coffee still piping hot when it arrived. Very happy that this the only local Costa which still offers extra coffee shots, Well done. coffee strings d hot. What's not to like,

Overpriced and here, went in once and absolutely stunned at the cost for coffee and a cake...never again, I can't afford their prices

Staff could communicate a bit better and service could improve apart from that okay.

The lady from the counter didn’t want to be there. She rushed me in and I forgot to take my free cookie even if I told her I want the reward from the app. Zero interes in helping.

The cinnamon bun wasn't delivered, however I was still charged the money for one

Driver was outside my house, went out to find him and he rode off to do another delivery before coming back 15 minutes later, food was stone cold and cookie was completely crushed and melted

Great place with buzzy atmosphere.

Middle Aged women with glasses (works on a Friday ) so extremely rude , has no idea what good customer service is. Every time we visit she has no patience with the customers.

one of lids wasn't on and spilled all in the bag!!! so only got one drinkable hot chocolate. wont order again online

Me and my wife were in having a drink when a very over eager staff member came over to take our tray I said we wasn't finished but the rude staff member took the tray anyway clearly someone who doesn't respect people's wishes

A bit open plan but I don't mind a bit of people watching while I enjoy a hot drink 😉. Very friendly and helpful staff 😀

Was really looking forward to a nice festive latte. Ordered with oat milk, as I am dairy intolerant, and didn't particularly fancy having a bad stomach today. I can confirm that it definitely wasn't oat milk as I am now quite ill. This is actually in fact the third time over the last year that I have been to this store. Three times I have had issues now. Sort it out Costa, we're in a cost of living crisis and toilet paper isn't cheap.

Staff are rude and shout even if you want to sit down and there is no where else to sit in the shopping centre

Nice staff that cope with a busy environment really well. Always ask me if I need help with the tray as I have a pram so very helpful and thoughtful. Always clean and stocked up.

Sold a coffee and pastry but was not allowed to finish it before a staff member shouted at me across the store that I had to leave as they were closing. Appalling customer service. Will not use this coffee shop again. Starbucks every time from now.

Coffee was not what I ordered. Disappointed

It's just your average Costa coffee, just as good as all the others, nothing wrong with this one either.

Arrived within 22 mins of ordering! Fantastic, thank you. The latte was still lovely and warm previously other stores it has become cold in transit and the fruit cooler still cold and not watery like it can be when ordering online so this was a great experience as I know how busy this store can get. Mucho mejor de lo que esperaba los bocadillos de atún, queso y jamón y pollo y bacon. Calientes tienen que ser realmente buenos, pero los tome fríos porque eran para llevar. El local es cómodo y amplio. No te quedas con hambre. Es buena opción dentro de los límites de Londres que son muy grandes.

The food is okay. Very little that can go wrong with sandwiches, cakes and hot drinks. The problem I have today is that the place isn't really worries about cleanliness. Tables are sometimes dirty but more importantly we were given three knives today which were all dirty. I have had dirty cutlery before. I asked for the manager to complain. She didn't appear to bothered. I mentioned that I'd had cutlery before that was dirty and if I was given dirty cutlery again I'd make a point of complaining via social media. To which her response was "don't threaten me with social media" . She then walked away saying nothing more.

We have been here a few times. Drinks were nice. Staff were friendly and helpful.

No gluten free options for my wife. Lost yourself a loyal customer today.

Visited Costa in Bexleyheath. Love Costa but found service not good in fact one of the assistants quite rude. Won’t be going to that one again.

I ordered but the staff member was talking to other people and not myself

The coffee wasn't very nice it was nearly cold, one of the young girls is very nice she's always very friendly and polite

Large latte took a little longer than expected , maybe short staffed. The cheese samwich was nice as always got the samwich cooked b4 my latte come back . Got lovely comfotable seats in costa bh. Some of the staff didnt seem happy. Busy little costa , will be back on a another coffee stop . Wheelchair friendly. No toilet facilitys , you have to use the shopping centres toilet. Reccomend tomatoe and cheese samwich melt. And recommend a latte but get it put into a take away cup as the indoor cups are awkward to drink out of.

Nice to be able to sit and have a coffee again

It was quite busy, but it was Friday lunchtime. Great selection of cakes and savouries although the sandwiches were expensive at around £4+! Great coffee as usual 😊

The coffee is tasty , that's why they get 2 stars, the experience for the customer is not good, the staff does not seem to have interest on serving, and the batista that puts the coffee put half of it out of the cup while making it and gave me a dirty and broken glass for the tea. Quiet dissapointing

If I could give 0 I will do it. Coffee is awful and taste like burned old coffee, tables and chairs are dirty and manager looks like he want fight with the customers

I love this Costa as it so relaxing.

I bought 2 Christmas drinks... a Gingerbread cream latte, which came with a little Gingerbread man biscuit, and a Terry's orange hot chocolate... which came with a Terry's orange chocolate segment on the side. Both drinks were delicious. We didn't wait long to be served, seating is comfortable... my only gripe is that the tables aren't cleaned away once people leave... you can find an empty seat no problem but the cups from the previous customers are still there.

Nice and clean. Staff were polite. But I must admit not my favourite coffee shop. But no different to any other Costa's.

Always love a coffee at Costa but this one let us down we only had toast I had to take it back the last at the counter snatched the plate off of me I explained it back it was only down on one side. Would not go to this one again.

A Costa in the middle so that you can see the shoppers as they walk by. Not so many seats so sometimes it's ramo.

Sometimes service is a bit slow but I always find a good spot to sit down.

Went at lunch time today (16/06). The queue was painfully slow, so I sat down with our little one whilst my partner waited to pay. After sitting l, realised the table was greasy so asked a staff member (blonde haired woman, didn’t see her name) who was wiping tables if she would mind wiping ours and got a sarcastic “sorry, I didn’t realise there weren’t any other tables” before she half heartedly wiped it and walked off. Rude and obnoxious. Won’t be coming again.

the kitchen is full of flies and dirty plates in sink the flies are on the cakes and round the nozzle of the cream its gross

I wouldn't recommend getting a coffee here. Very slow and poor service from staff. The cafe is very very dirty. The seats are all stained, the tables are horrendous. I've seen staff wipe the tables with a cloth with no spray on numerous tables, not cleaning them just merely wiping them. There are fruit flies all over the food and milk sachets. Barista's can't make a decent frothy latte. Really disappointing.

Wonderful place to sit down talk business or to meet up with friends I highly recommend the caramel latte or a nice hot chocolate.

This costa is based in the middle of the mall, there's lots of seating with a selection of table sizes. Its handy for people with push chairs as it's quite roomy. Usual menu, lots of food options, staff were friendly and efficient. Lost a star as it was pretty cold, even with coats on

Bought a Coffee from Costa this Morning. Usually fine. This one was like a cup of Milk. It's not like it's cheap.

What's happened to this Costa? The younger female staff are incredibly rude with customers. I've spoken to four sets of customers this week who agree. They are very slow serving too. Area manager needs to step in.
