Great coffee (with a choice of milk alternatives), food looks really appetising, nice decor and the ladies behind the counter are an absolute delight. The only downside is the apparent owner, he’s a total bell end. He needs to learn which paper cups his establishment uses before slagging-off and embarrassing customers in public, and when he realises he’s made a total mistake and complete idiot of himself, needs to show some grace and good manners and apologise. If it hadn’t been for him I would have given five stars.

Was a little concerned when i could see that this cafe wasn't displaying a Scores on The Doors Food Hygiene rating...so I looked it up before ordering , and I am so grateful that I did. 0......honestly.....and it has been at 0 for ages.....Urgent Improvement needed, according to Guildford Borough Council.....Well obviously not urgent enough for the owners/managers to rectify the problems. No wonder they don't display the rating..... Absolutely amazing that people go there...... I walked out...... I wouldn't want to eat or drink anywhere where they have such an appalling hygiene rating. I seriously believe that it ought to be a legal requirement to display this information in all establishments........

We come here all the time, several times a month. You always get a warm and friendly welcome and piping hot beautiful coffee. Robin is a friendly guy- just right! We like to play the board and card games they have there- and also eat wonderful sandwiches. Robin makes the soups - filling and chunky, amazing and unusual recipes. The cakes are always fresh and wonderful. It's quirky and fun- a lovely atmosphere. The tables and chairs don't match, it's a bit dark inside - it's nothing at all like corporate franchise coffee shops. I think the pricing is very good value and fair, and food is always beautifully presented with garnishes etc. It's quite busy at times, and a bit noisy - I love it! It's the sort of place you can go on your own, and feel comfortable. We always find it fairly easy to park outside or nearby. It's our 'go to' place.

Quaich is an inviting cafe/restaurant on the high street in East Horsley, a small, village in Surrey. When we were there it was buzzing with locals, it seems to be a central meeting point for this community. They serve a great cup of coffee, as well as sandwiches and soup and a tempting selection of pastries. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed and lunch was delicious. Well worth a visit if you are in the area, (Quaich: "a shallow drinking cup typically made of wood and having two handles". I had to look that up!)

I've been meaning to write a review for Quaich for a while and have been a regular customer there for the last two years. The cafe itself serves great coffee, varied teas, super sandwiches/toasties and soups, and scrumptious cakes. It is the perfect place to go for a morning coffee, afternoon tea and cake or a sociable lunch. There is almost always gluten free alternatives available, and the GF brownies are fabulous.Children are always very welcome and there is an excellent selection of board/table games to keep small ( and not so small) visitors amused. Whilst there is no baby change table yet, the toilet facilities are large extremely clean. Most food is made to order so it is easy to add in or leave out things that the children ( or you) don't like. My girls tend to ask for chicken salad wraps.....toasted....which doesn't phase the staff. The ambience is great, and there is a fantastic mural of landmarks in the two villages(East and West Horsley) painted on the walls. The staff are more than helpful. We recently moved away from Surrey but the one request my girls have when we go back to visit friends is to go to Quaich for lunch.

Robin and his team are super friendly and there's excellent coffee, cake, light bites and bits for the kiddies. A great place to eat, drink and find out what's going on in the village. Our kids enjoyed the smoothies which change week by week. Robin plays a little game with them to guess the ingredients.Since that first time we've been back time and time again simply because it's a really welcoming place to go. We were visiting the town and had checked on TripAdvisor where we might have a coffee, so were looking out for the place. It is on the main road, in the middle of the row of shops on the eastern side of the street. We arrived around 2pm and there were a few people having lunch, but we only wanted a coffee. It was nice and clean and bright inside, with some nice artwork/murals on the walls. They even have what appears to be a couple of old pub benches, with etched glass panels, which add to the character of the place. I ordered at the bar and got chatting to a man who I assume was the owner/manager. Very friendly. I was trying to pick a cake and he steered me to their signature gluten free brownies. It was a good choice, as although it wasn't particularly big, especially compared to some of the cake slices, it was very chocolatey and very moist. The coffees were also very good and all very good value. If I lived here, I could see that this would be my local haunt.

Ordered soup and a toasted sandwich as no greens left for salad. Then waited almost half and hour for it. Soup served first 'as they didn't want it to get cold ' whilst waiting for sandwich to be toasted. Had to send the soup back as it was luke warm. Soup heated again in the microwave, hot enough second time. Still no sandwich. Arrived eventually. There were approx 17 covers including children who mainly had drinks and cake, 4 staff. Surely it's not that difficult to make and toast a sandwich and empty soup into a bowl, put it in a microwave on the right temperature! Hadn't been there for ages and definitely won't be going again.

It is lovely to be able to pick and choose 'your' sandwich and how you want it.Quirky interior makes it a one off. Very popular with all ages. Great spot to meet up with a friend or a large group(school mums meetings are very popular)Well done and keep up the good work-if it ain't broke then don't fix it.

Horsley has finally got a proper size cafe with proper sandwiches and cakes. A great place, seems to be open and full all the time. The owner is local and very knowledgeable about the village and very chatty - always welcoming. I love the toasties and the gluten free brownies are divine (there are always a few tester pieces by the counter). Soup has been hit and miss sometimes and it can sometimes seem a bit "open plan" noisy. Great local place though and warmly recommended.

This coffee shop is getting quite popular now and I have been in a few times. Tasty fresh sandwiches and the coffee's not bad either! A couple of criticisms and one is due to the quite high ceiling it seems voices really carry...maybe some other flooring..maybe mats would deaden the noise? They really encourage kids and have a large toy selection and so that in itself creates lots more noise. Last time I went in it was raining and the windows were steamed up and it was very humid inside and people were asking for ventilation....we left early as it was quite uncomfortable.. Overall it's an ok place but not one to meet for a quiet chat!

If you don’t believe this review, read the rest. A pulsating bar with a top notch menu. Don’t miss the cocktail master class with the excellent Ben beforehand to get the party in the swing from the off. The subtle lighting and refreshing furnishings all lend to a terrific atmosphere. Combining the cocktails with a set menu also represents good value. Enjoy - we certainly did!
