Excellent food and drink with quality ingredients, served by friendly staff. Unassuming location and venue but well worth a visit.

This is our favourite place to go for lunch! Can't recomend it enough, the service and food quality is 10/10. Our faves inclu the chai hot chocolate, almond crossiant and salad bowl (good luck eating all three in one sitting!)

I have always loved it here. I tried the new soup that have on and it’s amazing! I never have had a problem with this place and aloutgh they were very busy, the staff were lovely!

Great food and cakes. Service is fantastic and offers good value for money! The Moroccan beans are amazing and are complemented well with the home made lemonade; which the server made fresh that day.

We found the menu quite limited but the croissants saved the day! They were large and very tasty in contrast to the cappuccino cups which were very small. Staff were lovely. Canteen style dining room.

The food was delicious and was worth every penny. The Staff were very accommodating and hospitable with the knowledge of the food and drinks.

Great food, very friendly staff and more importantly Dogs are not allowed. The reason I say this is I'm allergic to animal fur! Well done.

Cheese toastie is my usual go to as we frequent Deal high street. We make it a point to visit your cafe before or after our shopping on the high street. However have been disappointed by the last couple of visits. The cheese was meagre and there wasn’t cheese dripping out onto the crusts and top bread layer. It became an ordinary toasted cheese sandwich. The slaw quantity has reduced substantially which I feel is a shame. Tried to feedback to two members of staff about the cheese but afraid it went to deaf ears. Feedback was meant to be positive as would rather smaller of all then reduction in quality.

Popped in for drink and had the most delicious brownie I have ever tasted. Hot chocolate was actually hot and very tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We've been 2-3 times and always good. The Kimchi cheese toastie is excellent, service always good too. Plenty to choose from in Deal and will try some others but this does it for us.

We have made a point of coming here ever since we discovered it during lockdown. In fact, it was the highlight of our trips to Deal and we always made sure we’d done the shops and got in here before they closed at 3pm. Unfortunately, the last few times it seems they’ve changed the way they do things. Their cheese toastie with slaw used to be sublime but the slaw has gone from being a bit more of a medley of veg to just shredded cabbage so not really ‘slaw’ at all. On our last two visits, the toastie has had barely any cheese in it to the point where i have a job finding any at all. For the price of it, you’d expect cheese to be dripping out the sides, or at least present. Oat milk flat white could be hotter (I know you can’t heat milk alternatives up to the point of dairy milk but it could be better than luke warm). I’m so gutted; we’ll have to find somewhere else to have our coffee and toasties but I hope they see this and up their cheese game so we can come back! Pleeeease?!

Awful, awful, awful. Came in here for lunch, we got 2 toasted sandwiches one with pickle one with no pickle but tomatoes instead and when it came our sandwiches were mixed so we have to changed them over . It was a greasy mess and the cheese wasn’t even melted. The house slaw was disgusting. Pot of tea for 2 and every pour we had was filled with the loose tea so couldn’t enjoy a nice cup, the chocolate fudge cake did taste nice but was really gloopy and heavy. £30 for 2 rosaries, cake and tea for 2 which is okay if the food was actually nice we left most of our food. Won’t be coming back.

Nice breakfast, if a bit on the pricey side when compared with other local options. Good service, great coffee. Have been a few times when feeling flush.

Looking for a veggie friendly brunch/lunch and was not disappointed. Greeted warmly with smiles and enticing atmosphere. Just missed the breakfast but not a problem. I opted for the brunch sandwich using their homemade sourdough and a chai latte. Sandwich was delicious and filling, no one ingredient overpowering the other. Chai latte was the best I've ever had, (and I've had a few), presented beautifully and such a taste sensation. Well done Pop Up, long may you remain! From a difficult vegetarian, I salute you!

Always come here for scrumptious toastie and decent coffee when in Deal (in fact, it’s probably the main reason to come to Deal)! The coleslaw served on the side is unique with hints of fresh mint. Love it. Quality pergeot pepper grinders. Efficient service . Even better that dogs will soon not be allowed in the cafe.

On our weekly visit to Deal we try to get a table in this popular Cafe. The staff are great and very friendly. The cheese scones are fantastic. My only concern is the number of dogs that are brought into the cafe. I am a dog lover but I'm allergic to animal fur. One dog in a room is ok but more than will make me ill. It would be great to have a dog free area but I doubt that is feasible.

Friendly service with smiles and lovely environment. Stylish but not pretentious, airy and comfortable. Delicious homemade pain au chocolate and very good speciality coffee, well brewed and served. Menu looks inviting so will return for sure.

Called in for tea and cake. The tea was proper flake tea not a tea bag. They put a timer on the top of the pot so that you would know when the tea was ready. We had a slice of beetroot, wallnut and ginger....

Absolutely love eating in this restaurant, it offers something different from everywhere else in Deal! I always go for the veggie breakfast and the sweet potato, halloumi and garlic mushrooms are out of this world.

The tea was OK the coffee was not very nice the bread was awful crust was rock hard with ham and pickle £6.50 just for the crap sandwich that I left most off. Cake was lemon cake which was ok. Quite expensive won't be returning :/

The menu is brilliant, with the day's special the one I would recommend. This venue caters for all ages, and food needs. The staff are very friendly, helpful and patient. Handy in the town centre and very popular.

I rate Pop-Up for their savoury dishes, Moroccan spiced eggs in sourdough and the like. But this visit was for a simple coffee and cake. They serve a range of specialty coffees. Which change from day to day. They also sell the beans (though not cheap at c. £8 for 250g... but it was delicious as was the carrot cake. The frosting was to die for. It was light, and there was a big of texture and a lovely level of spiciness. Call if you have the chance.

We stumbled across the Pop Up Cafe on a Saturday lunchtime - that it was busy with people on both floors was a good sign. The menu is simple yet don’t let that fool you; there are plenty of delicious options including vegetarian and vegan available and they are ample helpings and well presented. My wife had the Vegan Brunch which was excellent whilst I had one of the more substantial lunch sandwiches which was similarly very good. Coffee was a decent serving but, more importantly, very good and overall it was excellent value for money. The staff are all young but equally eager and not over attentive which is a nice balance. Finally, it is also clearly a very dog friendly cafe which is very unusual in this age of being regulated out of existence. If you are looking for a place to eat that offers good, solid and great value food (and have a dog with you!) this is a great place to try.

Popped in for lunch and was presently surprised with the quality of of food, don’t be put off with the “vegan” image as there are other food available. Neither of us are vegans, but my wife had the vegan toastie and said it was very tasty, I had a cheese and ham on home baked Soughdough bread which was excellent. The coffee was of great quality and I would definitely recommend this cafe.

We have visited here a few times and have always been very satisfied with our experience, it is often quite busy and staff are friendly. They do a great range of breakfasts and healthier food, their scones are excellent, especially the cheese one! There’s a great selection of drinks, including hot drinks and smoothies. Price wise I would say it’s average.

Went with friends and family, I had the vegy brunch which was a joy. The decor is a bit shabby but it is homely rather than annoying, Situated in central deal, a great place for a tasty light meal for a light price.

When in Deal we continue touse the Pop Up Cafe as the cheese scones and the tea are delicious. Very friendly staff.

My English breakfast consisted of avocado, sourdough toast, butternut squash, bacon, chorizo, scrambled egg, halloumi, & salsa. Was gorgeous, fresh & so YUMMY with amazing service from Freya, Bente, Bec & the rest of the team! 10/10 :)

I was revisiting this café after a year of dreaming fondly of its vegan brunch and I was not disappointed. Accompanied by some excellent Earl Grey tea, this is a real gem of a place.

Popped in for late breakfast / brunch whilst visiting Deal. I had the avocado on sour dough toast and hubby had the mega veggie breakfast. Both were simply delicious. We saw the chef taking great care with the food and presentation. Friendly staff and lovely environment. Highly recommended.

I had a lovely vegetarian salad bowl for lunch. It was packed full of healthy ingredients, really tasty pickles, roast vegetables and great sourdough bread. Not a soggy bit of lettuce in sight. Truly excellent. The rooibush tea was loose leaf too.

Great cafe. The best thing about it is the coffee. Instead of the giant mugs of milky coffee that you get in Starbucks this cafe makes real cappuccinos, as good as anything you’d get in Italy. They seemed to have a lot of things on offer for people with different dietary needs, such as cakes and other snacks. There was plenty of seating, including a few tables outside.

Best tea in town and all foods made with the highest quality ingredients. My ten year old will tell you that you'll eat the best brownies here; I can vouch for the lovely salads; the cakes are scrumptious and the scones..... Well...... I could ramble on and on. It's a little rugged inside but never mind that. A bit pricey but the quality is worth it and the amount of people that return are proof of this. I've always found the staff to be really lovely too. Keep up the good work!

This wholefood cafe serves great lunches for vegetarians, vegans and lovers of good, simple food. It is handily situated on the main street and the atmosphere inside is peaceful.

I had the BEST vegan banana bread I've ever had in my life from Pop up cafe! Really lovely take away hot drinks too.

We came in to shelter from the rain and ended up having lunch. Vegan wouldn't be my first choice (menu isn't exclusively vegan however). Highly recommend the vegan brunch however and the avocado on toast with extra mushrooms. It's on the expensive side for a cafe, however this is reflected in the quality of the ingredients and preparation.

Catering for the DFLs this cafe is centrally located in town and window seats are great for people watching. However, £3 for a small brownie slice and nearly £7 for a bacon sandwich led to us ordering only drinks. Friendly staff and child friendly with more space since the expansion.

We visit this cafe often and always enjoy it; the atmosphere and food are both great. Good choices and all fresh. I’m a tea drinker and this is always a treat with leaves rather than bags and a timer to tell me when it’s ready! The staff are friendly and the new extension is a fab addition. Their coffee is the best as is their tea with proper tea-leaves. Quite expensive and not a huge range of choice but their sourdough bread with avocado & egg is the best! Didn’t get as much avocado as last time though...

I have eaten at the Popup Cafe several times. I love the coffee, always good and I always look forward to their regular change of featured coffee beans.

I visit the pop-up regularly and love their food, atmosphere and service, I send all my friends here as a must visit anytime they are in Deal. They have a passion for sourcing the best ingredients whether it is their coffee, cakes, homemade sourdough or various pickles. Can't wait to visit again!

Where to begin with this place... Great cake and coffee to be had for those seeking refreshment, but for me the highlight is the food, the breakfast, the lunches. Been in for breakfast before, and usually choose the veggie breakfast option, which is really tasty and not too expensive for what you get! Similarly, the sandwiches they do are divine and are always great flavour combinations, although admittedly a bit more pricey than a tuna melt from one of the chain cafes further along the High Street. In my opinion, however, the price for lunch is worth it. And don't get me started on the coffee. WOW! The coffee here is always really good, and one doesn't emerge onto the street feeling that one has consumed a mug of brown stale water. The coffee is potentially some of the best in Deal. If I were fortuitous enough to have friends or a partner to take to cafes in Deal, I would most certainly take them here for the coffee!!!

We stumbled across the pop up cafe when looking for somewhere for lunch at 3pm. We had the president which was delicious , homemade sour dough bread was lush, slaw yum need to learn to make it like that. Cakes looked great but we were too full to try them. Brunch menu looked really good. Service was ok but hearing I presume the owner loudly lecturing the staff on how to do a milk stock take was a little bit of an atmosphere spoiler otherwise it would have been 5*

This cafe - a favourite - has happily expanded to double its size and now has more tables downstairs and a bright upstairs. All tastes catered for with interesting menu - Moro and Ottolenghi influences judging from the well used pile of cookbooks upstairs. They do their own sourdough bread. Terrific looking scones and cakes. Brunch is best with lots of options. Helpful friendly staff. It's not super speedy service but it is attentive. One bit of advice - better highlighting of allergy and Vegan dishes on both menu and cake cabinet. Need to label ingredients (nuts, milk, wheat) on cakes etc. Given the range of diets they cater for.

We were a group of friends searching for a nice breakfast on a cold January Monday, the Pop Up Cafe totally met our needs. The food was excellent, I had scrambled eggs with bacon & avocado, which was well cooked and tasted wonderful. A pot of pepppermint tea was topped up with extra hot water at no extra cost. My fellow diners enjoyed their meals too. Loo was also nice and clean!

We are frequently in Deal but never been in the cafe. We tried it on the 2 Jan and eventually found a table, it was very busy. We ordered teas and cheese scones. Our order came quickly. These cheese scones are fantastic, full of spices and delicious. I fully recommend this cafe and we will be back! Well done!

It's not easy pleasing someone who is lactose intolerant. At the Deal Pop Up Cafe, I had a choice of dairy free milk and a really delicious, vegan banana/walnut cake. The staff was friendly and tolerant when my husband claimed a hot chocolate - which wasn't meant to be his - very tasty Whisky Hot Chocolate as it turned out - a great start to our wedding anniversary celebrations today.

Visited the Pop Up cafe for the first time today with friends. Certainly won’t be going back! Order was incorrect, staff were unhelpful and not good value for money.

Still good but was surprised to be charged 10 pence for hot milk on the side with my coffee. If they need the 10p would be better to include it in the price hence the downgrade to very good.

Stumbled across this lovely coffee shop whilst in Deal. Chose “The President” toasted sandwich, containing cheddar, Parma ham, rocket, harissa and gherkin, which came with a side of slaw and was absolutely delicious! Would definitely recommend!

Had a lovely lunch here some great specials, food and coffee is excellent. Great service. Went back a day later for take away cakes they were so good, the raspberry hero is knockout.
