We’ve been to Solleys campsite on numerous occasions and it never disappoints. The underfoot conditions were not great , but , without a moment’s hesitation the farmer offered us a tow off the field when we were ready to leave . We had breakfast in the cafe before we left and it was lovely with fresh local ingredients. We had a small ice cream every day and each one was gorgeous. Lots of local dog walks and a very nice community minded pub on site ….also , a shout out to the local pub within a short walk , The Plough , which is also lovely and cosy and serves great food …..the bathroom facilities are very dated , but there is plenty of hot water and clean toilets ….so fine for us …..will be back in the new year

Last time we visited here we only had an ice cream so thought we would return to try other food. Today we had a cheese l ploughman’s for two , a cup of coffee and a chocolate. When our food arrived we thought wow will we eat it all. The drinks were to die for . The ploughman’s we tried our best but we left two pieces of cheese to take home . The dish was fantastic and very filling ,the only thing I would say is we were not that keen on the chutney and perhaps a little salad as well on the board . Before we left we tried two of the small ice cream dishes and again very very good.

Our stay was out of the normal expectations of a camping site. Their website sited an Ice Cream Parlour, a pub, Maize Maze and tractor rides. Now the insight: The Ice Cream Parlour was very popular and offered a wider menu for lunch time meals, Sundaes and an amazing range of ice cream that tasted as the label said i.e Apple Pie. A barn with a fully installed pub. Then an active aerodrome with 2 plane hangers. It was memorising to see small planes taking off on a short grass run way whilst enjoying a cold drink from the bar, a duck pond, a couple of paddock horses to say hello and talk to, tractor rides and two go carts for kids (adults if small enough) to enjoy. There were a lot of local walks including down to the beach which brought a lot of ramblers and walker into Solleys. We stayed last weekend when there was a display of vintage cars and a group of bikers with their pride in their bikes very apparent so lots to see and enjoy. The plots for camping were generous and well kept. The only down side was the toilet facilities, however understand they are being upgraded next year. They were very basic but definitely usable and with hot water... please note we don't live in a toilet block! Lastly the staff were so helpful and brought a smile. Book and find out yourself - enjoy. Just back from a week camping and had a lovely time. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful. Great local walks. Visited St Margaret’s Bay, Deal and Langdon Cliffs National Trust. Enjoyed the ice cream. Not our first visit and we will be back.

I can see why friends recommended Solleys for camping and ice cream! The family run campsite and ice cream parlour is a super friendly, quiet campsite with plenty of room for kids to run/cycle round. We are told there are new toilet/wash facilities in the planning, although there were never big queues and what was there was clean and a hot shower! The ice cream was yummy! Can’t recommend enough!!

Super friendly family run campsite for tents and campers/caravans. We often visit for the ice cream and a 50p tractor rides (highly recommended, my kids love it), but we camped with friends and children over the bank holiday weekend for 2 nights. The owner is a real gentleman and all the staff are super friendly. Toilets and shower are kept clean and well stocked with soap/toilet roll. The surrounding countryside is beautiful with plenty of public footpaths for nice countryside walks. Deal and Walmer are a 5 minute drive. The campsite is on the end of the farm’s grass landing strip, which will provide plenty of entertainment for adults and kids alike. The ice cream is obviously delicious. Lovely, quiet and relaxing place to camp with plenty of space for everyone. If you’re really lucky you’ll meet Amber the farm’s dog...

Absolute gem of a place! We visited today after seeing someone mention it on Facebook. The staff are all lovely and really friendly and my son was heartbroken to leave the resident doggy, Amber. She was so kind and gentle. We had a lovely lunch of paninis with salad and crisps followed by some amazing ice cream. I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing the ice cream is! This was followed by a tractor ride and a bit of an explore. We were disappointed that we didn’t have time to do the maze so we’ll just have to visit again really soon. Thank you to everyone there for a fab afternoon!

Had a smashing time here at Solley's. This is the very best ice cream I have ever tasted. (most flavours) but I have to keep "finding" people to take as if I went alone (and I have done) I would eat so much I would make myself ill. The only downside is the amount of flavours....there are sooooo many.

Besides ice-cream, there is a decent menu for some cosy food such as beans on toast or bacon sandwiches if you are a bit peckish. The Parlour is sweetly decorated and have a games and books corner. There are several walking routes in the area and a designated site for camping. Tractor ride is very popular and the driver is very good with the children. There is a maize field which is fun to get stuck in. There is a little runway and we managed to see a plane take off. In conclusion, it is a nice place and well worth visiting and supporting. Come and take some ice-cream home ^^

This is set in the beautiful Kent countryside, My son and I stopped here for an ice cream, they actually do sandwiches and snacks here too. The ice cream is delicious, I had an apple and cinnamon ice cream and my son had a mango one. So many interesting flavours. You can buy bigger tubs to take home too. There is an airstrip, lovely camp site and pond with ducks and fish. There were tractor rides and things for the kids to sit and ride on. There are 5 walking routes you can do with leaflets inside the shop and a map. Definitely a nice place to visit either adults or children, can’t wait to go back and try a walk!

I absolutely love ice cream so I was excited to be going here. Two of us had paininis which were enjoyed. We also had waffle with 3 scoops of ice cream, 2 had that and enjoyed it. I had 2 scoops in a dish, one was apple crumble and the other rhubarb. Now there was nothing wrong with it, but it wasn't creamy and it lacked some flavour. I would have liked stronger flavours and of course Turkish delight flavour. I must stress there was nothing wrong with it, it just wasn't extra special. I also had a pot of tea, we also had a can of Pepsi and a fruit shoot. All this came to £26. There are nice walks that are well detailed on different leaflets. A nice trip out.

We were told the ice cream worth a visit and views beautiful. That was true we bought 4 scoops and it was very nice ice cream and we settled to buy 2 varieties. We wanted the litre tubs £5.60 each . Both flavours not in fridge and then was told phasing out big tubs as they are concentrating on 750 ml , ok are the flavours we want in these sizes then , No was the reply just No. Really disappointing and not a wide selection to buy . Would sell more or do they just want you to buy and eat there where they can make more money ?? Will do the walking trails only in future

Not only is the ice cream great but there is a small parlor to be enjoyed with cakes, etc. At certain times of the year farm tractor rides take visitors around the extensive grounds

I was first introduced to solley’s last September, by a friend of my mums. I thought the selection and special sundaes (you must try a cow pat!) that they do are fantastic. We went the last bit of the summer season, so hadn’t been back since. However, I discovered a local restaurant uses solley’s on their menu. So I can get my fix in the off season! I was very pleased to try the salted caramel and banoffee flavours. The salted caramel was exceptional! Smoothest ice cream I’ve tasted. And now the farm is open again, I’ll be going soon!

Had the first Solley’s of 2019 at the weekend and as usual does not disappoint! Love this place and Solley’s ice cream is by far the best. Great day out for the family and the parlour is great even when the weather is groggy.

This is a brilliant, family run ice cream parlour, where all of the ice cream is grown on site. the staff/farmers are very friendly, and i would recommend trying the walks that they have on leaflets, and they all finish in the parlour where you can treat yourself to a flavor of your choice!

Just a tatty farm yard with a small old tea room with ice creams. The play area is one climbing frame for a child up to 4. No tractor rides as the ground was too wet. I was expecting a smaller version of The Ice cream farm at Tattenhall in Cheshire. A huge disappointment.

We love Solleys ice cream parlour! The ice cream is the best and there are an amazing variety of flavours you will find one you like even if you are a fussy person. The staff are always so friendly and they also serve lunch. They have a great arrange of soft drinks available to wash down the perfect treat. Lots of tables available inside if you wish to shade from the sun or ample of space outside to sit and take it the spectacular view the farm provided. A lovely Kent product and being able to support local businesses is what it is all about. Solleys’s farm is great for a visit with the children and I’m sure they will thoroughly enjoy the toppings station! Give it a visit and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed

a short journey from a blistering sea front at Deal, we couldn’t wait to try the ice cream again afte a visit a year ago! The old calf shed was light and airy and the number of tables had been expanded including lovely umbrella - shaded outdoor seating.

I’m sure just popping in for an ice cream is great but they are not set up for open farm days. Firstly it is not a farm- there are no animals- not even cows. secondly you had to wait in line for everything - 30 minutes for ice cream, over an hour for the one tractor which then just took you around the field. Way too much of a line to go inside the dairy. Very disappointing for the kids.

Fancy a walk through Kentish countryside with locally made ice cream as a reward? This is what you get at Solley's where ice cream is made on the premises and served in the former calf shed, now converted to a rustic ice cream parlour on the dairy farm. You don't have to walk, the farm is accessible by car and you don't have to limit yourself to ice cream as light lunches are also available. But the ice cream is wonderful - available as scoops or tubs to take home. We particularly enjoyed the wild strawberry and the rhubarb and ginger.

Upon entering La Salle Verte I found myself in a state of confusion, I was not in a green room after all, instead I was in a well presented Cafe in the heart of Dover. I was greeted by smiley faces which is rare to see in such a glum town. The humans who run this place truly do appear joyful and welcoming. Their hot drinks were very good, packed with flavour and somewhat orgasmic from the moment it smoothly runs along the tastebuds, this state of mind tragically came to an end all to soon (unlike me.) The idea of crisps as a side to acompany made me smile inside, this inner smile soon became a storm when I ate them though, it appears these crisps could have been from a bag opened in my childhood, possibly even years before in the 1980s.

The sun was shining so we decided to try Whitemills Kitchen for an Al fresco lunch. My husband and I had the chicken and ribs sharer and it was stunning. Succulent juicy ribs and chicken with corn, coleslaw and a large bowl of fries and all washed down with a nice cold glass of wine. The staff are excellent and we really enjoyed watching the wakeboarding. We will definitely return.
