Absolutely love this pub the staff are amazing. Used to be our favourite place for Sunday roast as the food was always incredible over recent months the roast has changed a lot, portion sizes have greatly reduced and the pork portions Minuscule, beef is very hit and miss with being undercooked some weeks but always Extremely Chewy Making it near on impossible to swallow. The roast potatoes as well seem to have been cooked the day before and warmed up so not very nice. They used to be incredible ! The roast dinners have gone from an incredible 10 out of 10 to now a 2 out of 10. Portion size has halved. Sadly, we will be finding a new venue for our Sunday roast. Very sad and I don’t take pleasure in leaving this review as we do love this place but sadly out of recommendation to return to how the roast dinners used to be have fallen on deaf ears.

Fantastic place! Great Sunday roasts, great music, lovely staff and really nice atmosphere. The perfect place to spend a Sunday afternoon :)

Popped in for a half pint of Tribute and a 'half pint' Diet Coke. Was charged £6.80. Saw the Tribute was £2.60 which meant the Coke was £4.20 and it was mostly ice! Won't be going back there again.

Great food. Lovely stuff. Perfect vibe. Couldn’t recommend more, even with a dog.

Shocking from start to finish 2 belly pork meals sent back for being stone cold. Reheated in microwave then dried out. Portion more like a starter and at £20 each it's a disgrace, Would never return to this pub

We had hake as fresh as it can be with seasonal veg. Delicious. Decided to stay for the weekly pub quiz and didn't disgrace ourselves, 2 old codgers amongst a pub full of students!!! 🤣

Really great food, we had the burgers and the chips were unreal. Its a really cosy pub and they had a live band Friday night so great atmosphere

We went for Sunday lunch today and it was great, staff are all friendly and professional and the food is great. If you like a nice meal with normal people then this is it, 10 out of 10 for the penny come quick.

Really lovely food but most of all amazing service the beautiful lady with the genisis T-shirt and brown long hair, you are very lucky to have a staff member like her repping your business. Will definitely be coming back again

What a wonderful gem of a place!! Warm, welcoming, pretty and cozy atmosphere on a rather rainy day in Falmouth late Feb '24 (next morning lovely and sunny...). The staff are so friendly (met the lovely Gabi and Nestka) and we decided to have some 'bar nibbles'. I have not tasted such delicious nibbles in a pub before...we got the 'pigs in blankets', served with rocket and gravy, and 'belly pork cubes', again, served with rocket and a very tasty dip. Big shout out to the chef Jason!! Would recommend to anyone visiting Falmouth. I'll definitely go again when I'm back, hopefully in April/ May.

Really nice pub with a good selection of beer and food. Recommend the fish and chips very well cooked but would have benefited from more fish and less batter. Good selection of beers, had a St Austell Proper Job which really hit the spot. Staff were very friendly and welcoming

Stumbled across whilst in Falmouth. My hotel bar was closed on a Monday so ventured on the into the metropolis of Falmouth. This oub was well well worth a visit and close to bus stop. Food and drinks excellent. Lovely freindly atmosphere, especially for a solo traveller and fantastic bar service! Fish and chips excellent and varnish cheese board great. Proper oints of proper job!

Exceptional Sunday lunch today … super tender belly pork with great crackling and with all the trimmings, crispy roasties, honey roast vegetables, caramelised cabbage and perfect cauliflower cheese. The deserts were delicious too … warm bakewell tart with cherry sorbet and a delicious chocolate torte. Lovely friendly staff and mellow welcoming atmosphere. Gourmet food for a reasonable price.

Amazing pub! The service was great and the food was excellent. The slow cooked pork was delicious, I recommend that one! clean place, efficient service and cozy. Also this may not always be like this, but the music they played was great if you like chill indie rock. Kept going back to Shazam to discover what they were playing.

Really beautiful food and very reasonably priced! We were delighted by such a high quality and varied menu. A group of us went on New Year’s Day with no reservation - really cosy atmosphere, lovely staff and genuinely exquisite food. Delicious meat, fish & veggie options and great service. Would highly recommend and will definitely return whenever I come to Falmouth again!

Lovely evening, the food was good and represented fair value for the quality on the plate, the staff were delightful and the atmosphere was vibrant but chilled and cozy.

Had an absolutely delicious meal, staff were fantastic and the options were brilliant! Lots of vegan options too! Definitely keep an eye out for the bar snacks they are fab! Such a wonderful pub atmosphere, we need to go back for the Sunday roast!

The service was very good and the staff were very attentive, unfortunately the roast wasn't brilliant the meat - Pork belly was very fatty and hardly any actual meat in the portion, the staff did try and correct this and I understand pork belly is a fatty meat. But the roast wasn't the best especially for the cost of it. Not in a hurry to come back for another one.

Arrived 5 minutes late (called ahead to inform them this) - upon arriving they made clear to us that they were annoyed - especially the lady who runs it who actively ignored us - took 20 mins for anyone to come to table Food was very average - parts of my roast were cold - particularly the stuffing Would not recommend

We don’t write this review as a one off visitor. We write it as regular visitors over the last few months. The food is excellent and the service is first class!! We have tried items from the menu, all delicious, we have eaten the bar bites - OMG they are awesome and today as a birthday celebration we have enjoyed Sunday Lunch! There is nothing to fault with this pub, it hits everything. Brilliant customer service, excellent food!! Jo runs a tight ship but OMG does it show!! We will be back again and again!! And would have absolutely NO ISSUE recommending to friends and family!! Well done Team PCQ … keep at it, you are nailing it!!!

Quite possibly the best pub roast ever. After reading other reviews myself and my wife decided to book this place for our Sunday roast and we weren’t disappointed. A lovely atmosphere and attentive staff and the food was amazing. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a top quality meal 👌🏻

Such a lovely pub. Staff were friendly and good fun creating a relaxed atmosphere. The food was delicious and good value. The pub was full but they fitted us in and made us feel welcome. We will most definitely go back when we are next in Falmouth. Highly recommend

We visited Pennycomequick three times - first for just a drink (and loved the atmosphere!), then for dinner (food wonderful and staff very welcoming and friendly), then finally because we were let down by another restaurant and needed something to eat! The manager was great and looked after us. If we're in Falmouth again, we'll definitely return. In a nutshell, a great pub, with superb food that's very welcoming to visitors (thank you!).

We booked a table without any problem. Arrived and ordered. Unfortunately our order apparently was lost and we had an incredible long wait. We have to say the girls who have only been at the penny for a short time were absolutely amazing with their attention. The food was excellent!!! The chef did us proud. My self and partner couldn't be bothered to go back to Helston to cook dinner after visiting our parents, so popped in to look at the menu. Bar staff very attentive, knew the menu well even though it had just changed. All I can say is the food blew me away and knocked a couple of my favourite places out of the ball park. Food was well presented with amazing flavours. We will definitely be back

Auffallend engagiertes Personal, sehr bemüht und motiviert. Hat etwas von einer Studentenkneipe. Auch wenn es sich hier um einen klassischen englischen Pub handelt, findet man hier schinkengerichte, verschiedene Salate etc. was dem individuellen Geschmack mehr Auswahl gibt. Sicherheitshalber reservieren; mal ist es total voll und dann wieder halb leer.

Nice pub in the middle of Falmouth with nice food and service.

I have to say this was probably the most dissapointing roast dinner I've ever had. I ended up ordering the pork as the beef had ran out and was unpleasantly suprised when i saw a lump of fatty pork accompanied with 3 roast potatoes and 2 carrots to share between 2 people. I cant say i was impressed for paying £18.50 for it and it was a trip to spoons to get some proper dinner for a fraction of the price.

Popped in here for a late lunch on the off chance whilst visiting Falmouth. The young girl, Neska, who served us was so friendly and welcoming from the minute we walked in to the minute we left. Service is hard to come by and she was a gem! We ordered a burger to share and wow! The burger was so tasty, made with local produce, great flavors and the chips were the best me and my partner have had. You can tell the chef takes pride in what he is serving, great traditional pub food but with the flavor and service that many lack nowadays! Thank you!

Was accommodated last minute during the current tourist season and every staff member was friendly, and helpful. But the best part was the food which was perfect, best burger I have tasted for ages.

Had a drink in here it's a nice pub,did not have no food,but it's a nice place.

Not a patch on what it was under the previous owners. Service was unbelievably slack, very few patrons, zero atmosphere, menu was the same as previously. So, although the chef is really good, it would have been nice to have a different Sunday roast vegetarian option 6 months later. It will probably survive the summer, thanks to the tourist influx, and may limp on until Christmas, but will be gone by early next year. Such a shame, and a massive missed opportunity.

My favourite place to eat in Cornwall and top 3 places in the county overall. Stellar, stellar food and lovely staff.

I had the famous 'Penny Cheeseburger' and it was amazing. The beef was tender and seasoned expertly and the combination of burger toppings all came together perfectly. Definitely among the best burgers I've had. The Padron peppers and the chicken wings were really yummy too. Peppers were particularly good value for money as there were loads of them. This experience was topped by faultless service from Fred and the rest of the team. Thanks guys, it was lovely.

We have eating here a few times, always been quite good. Sadly the food has go right down. I think maybe a different chef ? As the place is still a nice place to go, it’s just the food the let down. The burger was very dry and over cooked as was the gammon. As the food we had was not to the standard we went for, so the 3 stars are for the place not the food.

This is quite possibly the best pub for food in Falmouth. Very friendly staff, great food, well kept beer and a good wine list. Well worth a visit.

Thank you so much for such a delicious Sunday Lunch! The beef was perfectly cooked, the vegetables were something else. Thanks for being so accommodating for our old Nan who needed a quieter area to sit, so she could hear us. We will without doubt be back.

What a place! Very very friendly staff, great ales and fantastic food. My burger was excellent, and my more adventurous wife choose the special of the day, hake in a Thai source which she rated as good as she's had anywhere. A must in Falmouth.

‘Twas bleddy ansome ‘twas. Me being a Cornish maid & ‘him’ a Cornish chap too… It was thoroughly lovely. We try many establishments & will always be honest. We had a proper Cornish welcome, the food was right on, and ohhhh - I am not going to ram it down your throat… just go & decide for your selves my luvvers. 🤤 😁😘
