Patisserie Valerie - Ashford in Ashford

The service was superb The chef on duty on Saturday 8 April 2023 in the morning blew our minds with his excellent customer where he had to come to our table and ask us how we wanted our food to cooked. That was a world class service!!

Would not recommend an afternoon tea at this branch, tables cleared of clutter but not wiped down, when we asked for the toilet we were told they were out of service but there were toilets outside in the shopping area. When the food arrived the tiered tray had a dirty, frayed ribbon attached, Scones were served with Blackcurrant Jam & cream, when we asked for strawberry, we were told they did not have any because it was seasonal??? Scones were not fresh, they were hard and stale. The sandwiches were okay and the small cakes were nice as was the coffee. The server did not want to give us the managers name. I think that says it all!!

We walked in today for 2 x afternoon teas with our family as we had 2 vouchers to use. It was delicious. Sandwiches were great although as a company cucumber and butter sandwiches as an offering is pretty poor but it was fresh none the less. Great scones and some good miniature cakes. It was that good I thanked the lady chef on our way out. It was clean inside the cafe, which seems like an improvement compared to some of the negative reviews on here. :)

Shopping stop at Ashford outlet centre. How so very disappointing. The shop floor is really rather dirty. Including the tables. Asking for the table to be cleaned and being ignored is really unacceptable. Service is seriously slow.. Perhaps there are staff issues 🤔

This cafe is busy but we asked for extra hot drinks but again another cafe that can only do lukewarm Coffee waited 20 min . Won’t come again

Opted for lunch here as most other places were outside seating/full meals. Easy to order from q code. Food disappointing. Took 3 attempts to get soup warm enough to eat though bread was tasty. Portion of chips for over £3 was ridiculously small portion although nicely presented. Wouldn't rush back.

First time to the Ashford Designer Outlet centre for years. Decided to pop to Patisserie Valerie for a coffee and cake. Sadly made the fatal mistake of not checking reviews before hand but then given its historical reputation how could you go wrong?! Oh lord.....The only resemblance to this institution is the name above the door. Tables stockpiled with dishes for the customers to remove whilst the manager looked on playing with her laptop, muddy shoes on the seating. Dishes had not been cleaned. Scum inside the milk jug! Couldnt miss it!! The table stands made of iron I think haven't seen a cloth or mop for years by the looks of them. The amount of food on the floor and dirt, place only fit for vermin. Staff and worse management oblivious to what was happening, couldnt care less. .Patisserie Valerie should be ashamed.

My experience at this cafe was utterly shocking. Firstly, as I come to order ,I see staff at the front counter putting orders into boxes without gloves. Then, a girl at the front counter putting several macaroons into the box decided to lick her fingers off the excess cream from the macaroons and proceeded to put them in the box. Absolutely disgusting.When I ask for a specific thing off the front display, I was told I “can’t” have that because all the leftovers need to be finished first so then fresh products can be sold. Am I in a primary school? Where I am told what I can and cannot have in school dinners? This is meant to be a professional cafe. Customers do not care about the ease of staff and what is convenient for them in terms of what to serve and why. The staff they hire seem to be incredibly unprofessional if they seem to think it is ok to be serving with extremely unsanitary conditions. Then, they mixed up my order and my colleague and I were waiting at least half an hour for our order. As I observe around the cafe I could see how unorganised it was, staff not sure which order went to which table,giving people wrong orders. Not to mention the disgusting cutlery . The atmosphere within this cafe seems careless. If staff are not willing to do things the proper way they should not proceed to work there. An absolute joke for a professional franchise cafe. I do not recommend Ashford Pattiserie in the outlet.

came for a quick tea and a bit of lunch. wasn’t at all greeted by anyone, even after being seen- they just carried on which what they were doing and ignored me. not one member of staff looked remotely over 21 so completely ran by children. waited 35 MINUTES for a croissant and a baguette WHICH WERE ALREADY ON THE SHELF and just needed to be heated (just the baguette not the croissant may i add). after asking how much longer it’ll be after 20 minutes of waiting a member of staff simply said “oh i don’t know”… how don’t you know what’s going on in a near enough empty cafe?! the baguette itself was gross- fatty and inedible bacon, packeted chicken slices with next to none in it and again, inedible lettuce. must’ve been left there a while and heated with it inside because as far as lettuce goes, WOW. overall the food was mostly inedible, expensive for poor quality and a ridiculously long wait. i wouldn’t mind paying £6 for a baguette if it was going to be good but i’m less than impressed. really poor customer service too.

The chewing gum on the floor outside is fresher and more edible than what they serve here. Worst Patisserie Valerie I have ever been to. Avoid at all costs.

We visited as I had purchased a voucher for my parents for afternoon tea. The sandwiches were fresh but the fillings horrible. One was a tiny amount of cucumber and butter. One thin ham and the other sliced chicken and pesto. Yuk. The scones were tiny and hard. The inly nice bit were the tiny pieces of cake. For this I paid an extra £36 fir my daughter and I. Surely the biggest rip off ever. I have never visited Patisserie V before and never again. The service was dreadful as well.

Hot chocolate was cold, coffee lukewarm. Cake was stale and hard. We did complain, the cake was refunded and the chocolate reheat. Very poor for what is supposed to be a patisserie.

Once again this branch has proven to be not worthy of the brand - rude staff poor slow service even when virtually empty- order not complete, had to get it ourself having been told we’ll bring it over - tables being in served in a seemingly random order - I’ve walked out once before but has already paid this time so had to stay — I repeat not worthy of the brand I’m afraid

On a shopping trip to the Ashford Designer Outlet we dropped in for a cup of coffee. There's plenty of seating inside and a few tables in a cordoned off area outside. Friendly staff and efficient service and the coffee was very tasty; it was a bit pricey though (£6.50 for two cappuccinos).
