Excellent!! The lamb was tender and not fatty, rice was fluffy, the flavours were amazing and the food arrived hot. They also gave us free bombay potatoes and a naan. Highly recommended and definitely will be reordering from here!

Arrived early and nice and hot. Chicken was pretty dry and stringy but the sauces were nice.

Went 21st June. Been once before few years ago. Really good friendly attentive service with a smile. Large food portions. Tasty food. Crisp white table cloths. Reasonable prices. Definitely go back. A good experience. A large restaurant with a calming atmosphere. Decor a bit dated but as said food and staff top notch

This restaurant has produced some good quality food in the past but the last 2 visits have been awful. It must be a different chef as all the dishes were different and of a poor quality and fairly tasteless. This was made even worse by tough chicken. There really is no excuse for tough stringy chicken given the prices they are charging. If they can't produce consistent quality it just results in a disappointing expensive meal. They've just hiked up all the prices not least the wine to silly levels. It just smacks of greed and will certainly deter us from going again.

First visit to this restaurant. Excellent meal, food was fantastic , extremely well presented, great service lovely staff. Very large round table which seated the 9 of us perfectly including a large power wheelchair. Will definitely be back.

We visited Panahar last night and were glad we did, this is an old school proper establishment. The welcome and service we're exemplary. We had samosas and onion bhaji to start and they were a delight. Our mains were lamb bhuna and lamb jalfrezi with the king prawn rezalla on the side, these were all of a very high standard. If you like a curry please take my advice and visit Panahar you won't be sorry.

Beautiful fresh hot food. Full of taste and flavour. Had to call restaurant as bottle of drink was missing, that then was with us within about 8 minutes. Staff very polite and helpful.

Unfortunately the food wasn’t up to scratch. The chicken was dry and overcooked, which spoiled the meal. The onion bhajis were oily and undercooked. I expected better as I have eaten here many times and it was expensive. It was delivered promptly though.

This us the most amazing Indian restaurant I have been to ever!!! The staff were so friendly, the restaurant so clean and amazing atmosphere ever. Food is out of this world, can't recommend it enough; if you haven' t tried it yet, you need to you won't be disappointed I can tell you. Thank you to all the staff you were so welcoming!!

This is the best food experience I’ve had in six months. Every week I go out for a sit down meal and it’s always mediocre at best. However last night at the Panahar the food was absolutely delicious. The Grandma’s curry had a little bit of extra spice and was perfect. The chana masala was the best I’ve had, all washed down with ice cold draught Cobra. That’s my curry house sorted for the foreseeable future. Keep it up chaps.

My first visit to the Panahar in 2 years and it won't be my last. Grandma's Curry was perfectly mild and crammed with flavour. My companion ordered the same but 'Madras' chilli heat. And again, he loved the dish. Perfect pulau rice, lovely chick pea Masala and light dry Paratha bread. Keep up the good work.

Great curry, friendly staff and attentive service, reasonably priced and an enjoyably old school dining experience. Well placed on the main road with free parking nearby.

This is not the first time my family and I have visited and, as always, the service here has been superb. Staff are quick to help and the food is never slow to come out. The servers have a habit of making us feel welcome. I would definitely recommend the Panahar and can’t stress their generous service enough! Thank you.

Ok but not the same as it was a few years ago.

Delivered in exactly 1 hour as advised, which was understandable as it was a Saturday. Food was packaged well so nothing had leaked. It looked fresh and tasted delicious, my only complaint was that we had ordered 3 different chicken curries and each one of them only had 6 pieces of chicken in a big container with much more sauce than meat. For the price of the curry, this was quite disappointing.

Really disappointed with our takeaway tonight as we are regular customers. Chicken was over cooked and dry, the vegetables in the korma were undercooked and there was little variety apart from green beans! The onion bhajis were uncooked in the middle and naans were soggy. For over £60 this was shocking. Sorry Panahar but you need to do better than this. We have been customers for over 20 years. Very unhappy.

We returned for a second visit hoping it was as good as the first visit...... It was. We had gorgeous food, so much to choose from. We had a house white which was delicious and excellent value at £16 for a bottle and 5 dishes plus a great pershawi naan which was fresh, homemade and perfect. Also had poppadoms and dips . It came to a reasonable £51.00 with the wine and we had lots of food x I recommend this wonderful restaurant. The staff are very professional and welcoming. Thankyou to all the staff for looking after us so well.

We visited here as a family and as always, were so impressed with the food and the service. The choice of dishes is so extensive and the food is just fabulous. This is easily our favourite Indian and we don’t even live close by! The service is spot on - every effort is made to ensure you have a great dining experience. Thank you to the team - we will be back again soon!

Went here after not been for a while Won’t be back till I can remortgage the house ! £70 for two ! For a curry ! Wow ! And we didn’t go overboard with expensive drinks The whole place is overpriced and when people start feeling the pinch with excessive energy bills they won’t be spending this sort of money on a curry No denying it’s a good curry And we like to treat ourselves to a nice takeaway But not at these prices Hope you last the recession !

We've been eating at the Panahar since they opened and is our asian restaurant of choice both for eating in and takeaway. Very pleasant, friendly staff. Large choice on the menu. Prices have gone up by about £1 per main course since the pandemic and having been forced to close for a while, then reduce tables for more space, I don't mind paying a pound or two extra to help them get back on their feet. They also host regular charity events and deserve better than 4 stars as far as I'm concerned. The only minor criticism if you want to be critical, is that the place is very popular and on a friday or saturday at peak times, be prepared for a bit of a wait as the kitchen is small for the seating area and with the addition of a very popular take-away service, your evening there could be longer than usual, but with a pint and some good company, what's the rush?

I used to come here regularly but for some reason not been for 9 years. Suggested it for a friend's birthday so 8 of us went. Reservation had been lost but they still had room for us. Service was efficient and friendly. Food is great quality and good portions. There are other places nearby of similar quality that are cheaper but I can still recommend overall

Not much meat in the chilli masala and sauce had to many onions in for my personal taste also had non existent spice which is a shame, rice wasn't very enjoyable either.

I'm annoyed, it's taken my order and my money, ..it says online your open for collection, and yet. You are not open.. Now I have the hassell of getting a refund. If your not open then say and don't take the payment.

Excellent food as always. Ordered ahead for 7:15pm and it came an hour early though - luckily we were home!

Food was 25minutes late, arrived cold and missing an item. We placed the order at 5.45pm and it arrived at 7.30pm

Friendly staff, gave clear and helpful advice. After asking out preferences gave us several recommendations which were superb, one in particular was outstanding.

They forgot one of the mains which was annoying but it was delivered within 20 minutes

Had to warm it up in the microwave everything was cold Ordered it at 6:35 once paid was then told it would arrive at 7-55 it arrived at 8:30 I knew it will be so long before paying I would not of gone ahead with it

I have been to the Panahar many times with friends. Enjoyed the food and service. However for the first time since lockdown we had a takeaway. I ordered a king prawn masala and a king prawn delight. I drove back home (6 miles away) opened up the cartons which had the proper dishes written in felt tip on the lids. Dished out the food on plates and then started eating, only to find that my king prawn masala was chicken masala and my wifes king prawn delight was lamb! Now I can understand one error but not two. I phoned the restaurant and spoke to Khan. I told him of the error but that I didn’t want to drive all the way there and back and that we had started eating the food and would continue to eat it as we were hungry. I heard him speaking Bangladeshi to what he said was the chef, who insisted it was king prawn. Khan said he would give us a discount next time we ordered food there. However King Prawns are much more costly that chicken or lamb and so I feel much more than a discount is due. Any way I feel they didn’t have any king prawns and so decided to cut the meats in prawn shapes to get more profit and sales. Or maybe it was a mistake. Either way I wanted to write this review so that you check your food is what it says it is on the lid and that if this is a common practice for this restaurant and others report the same experience then their dishonesty will be exposed.

We ordered a takeaway a couple of weeks ago to be delivered ,at around 7pm were told it would be 1 hour 30 mins wait,it got to 2 hours called them,said it was coming,eventually arrived at 940pm ,and order was part missing and wrong dishes,called to complain and was told they are busy,come on isn't it good to be busy now.got to improve if I'm going to use again.

We pre ordered our food at 5.30 to receive at 7.30 and the food turned up at just before 9.30, we constantly tried calling and the number was busy for the full 2 hours 🤔(off the hook!!). Not even an apology and the we were not going to get told either, I had to go through JustEat to get an eta. This is the second time this has happened in the last two weeks, benefit of the doubt for the first time but appalling for the second time in a row. WE WILL NOT BE GOING BACK FOR A THIRD TIME!

It is New Years Eve. However, we ordered in advance of opening. Order was accepted as soon as they opened at 5.30pm, food has arrived at 8pm! I tried to contact the restaurant on all 3 numbers several times (according to my call info I tried 167 times) to get an update but it was always engaged. Very unhappy with service.

Food was pre ordered at approximately 4.30pm to arrive at 8pm. Food didn’t arrive until 10.30pm. Attempted to call the restaurant and it was constantly engaged, when I finally got through at 9.50, they stated the food had left with the driver and should be near by, clearly not! Very disappointed.

Food was delivered over 90 minutes late and cold , have already requested part refund not yet received reply .

When I placed my order rut was due to be delivered at 1940. Then I had an email saying it was 2005 which I saw unhappy about about. At 1942 I had a text message from the restaurant saying it was on its way (we live less than 10 minutes from it). At 1955 I called them to ask where it was and was told it hadn’t left the restaurant ! They told me to order direct with them next time and they would give me a discount. Our food eventually turned up at 2020! So disappointed with the service and their blatant misinformation Really unhappy

Chicken Dhansak was overly sweet (I’m aware that it’s meant to be a sweet dish, but this was extreme) and contained coconut - to which I’m allergic! Not a great experience, I’m afraid.

First time I've ordered from Panahar and I was quite impressed. Popadoms were stale and naan bread was a little burnt, but other than that everything was really tasty.

Horrible food no flavour and the Bombay aloo was all slimy and had hard skin. Very disappointed called to complain but they said that’s what happens when you don’t collect the food very rude!!!

I have been eating here for around 2/3 years, normally it’s OK I haven’t had a curry since the lock down and thought I would order a takeaway and got my usual chicken curry and chicken tikka masala with Bombay aloo! The food had 0 flavour, the potato’s where slimy with no sauce. I even called to see if they had changed the chef!! Unfortunately will not be going here again. I really do not recommend

Outrageous. Wish I could ZERO stars. Newly moved to the area and we love Indian food. Will never order from here again. Order placed at 17.59. Over 2.5 hours for a food order to arrive which still hasn’t arrived. Lied to each of the 4 times I called to enquire: 1) we’re busy it will be soon 2) it’s on it’s way 3) part of the order has left 4) it’s on it’s way, but we can’t reach the driver - if you don’t want it anymore we’ll cancel it! NO! I want my £90 worth of food! I was also told to get off the phone to free up the line by the Manager Khan! Worst customer service and how they have stayed in business in this area is beyond me. Be warned, and do not order from here if you want to actually eat food and don’t like being lied to.

I have been to the Panahar a few times over the last 3 years and despite the fact its decor could do with a little refresh, you can't argue with the quality of service or food. Consistently lovely curry, attentive staff and very clean. I must add social distancing measures are in place and staff were all wearing PPE.

Delicious food, and arrived in 45 minutes rather than the stated hour.

Our food was very good, service was great (not being rushed or kept waiting between courses), tables were distanced and all the staff were wearing masks etc couldn’t fault the evening- fist meal out for 6 months.

Visited as part of the eat out to help out, Food was lovely as usual, despite feeling undervalued and extremely hot within the dining area, Air con not on, when challenged was advised they’re not allowed to.....why? When other restaurants attended do .......no air movement made us all feeling uncomfortable and couldn’t wait to eat up and get out despite food tasting great. Regular diners here throughout the year and after tonight’s experience this may change.Bare this in mind if weather temps remain hot hot hot.....

Restaurant was a favourite pre-lockdown. Still holds up. Food tasted good, wasn’t too oily or under-spiced, nice variety of veg and good lamb chops.

My wife and I have been coming to the panahar for the last 7-8 years, it has never let us down to the point we will not touch another Indian food restaurant for the fear of it not living up to the panahar, great food, great service, great crowd, what more could you ask for?

Great Sunday buffet, lovely service and relaxing atmosphere. No rushing for you to leave. Will be coming back again!

Came here for the first time in a big group on a busy Saturday night.The food did take a while but that is what is expected on a busy Saturday night.The food however was brilliant! Popadoms with dips as usual. I opted for the garlic mushrooms to start with which was nice.The main of ‘Garlic Chicken’ along with mushroom rice was a good portion size and tasted great.Not too bad for price either considering the quality.

Always good to see a busy restaurant unfortunately this one could not cope with it. We waited over half an hour just for a drink and then an hour to order and another hour before we were served our food. Usually curries are served and the portions are generous but my chicken tikka looked like I didn’t even get a whole chicken breast! It was tasty though. As we were with friends we had plenty to chat about and this made the waiting bearable. I wouldn’t go there again.

Great value and a good selection of food. Would definitely recommend for a cheap Sunday lunch time. Service is good and they managed to fit us in without a booking.

Visited here Sunday just gone for the Sunday buffet which I had never tried, eaten here many times but not the buffet. Was very impressed - a good selection of dishes including lamb ones which a lot of buffets don't offer, there was also a good vegetarian selection which my girlfriend appreciated. All the food was hot, fresh and topped up regularly. For the price charged was a very good meal out, one I wouldn't hesitate to recommend

We enjoyed our meal at the Panahar Indian Restaurant. The curries we had were very tasty and the service was excellent.

Great food, acceptable waiting time between courses (even asked between starter and main if they could serve main) but spoiled by over zealous waiter trying to clear our table whilst one of our friends was still eating then when we asked for the bill couldn’t seem to wait to get us out the door. Good food, acceptable price but let down by the last 15 mins of the meal, we will go back but ask for a different waiter.
