Had a catch up with a friend who lives near here. Lovely place to spend a couple of hours catching up. The coffee was very nice, and the cakes were amazing. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and take time to talk. That can mean it's a little slow service wise, but the friendliness is part of the appeal. Highly recommended

Combines all the key elements - great coffee, food and setting - and also some lovely gifts (really nice items, perfect for birthdays and Xmas) but, most special of all, a terrific community feel to the place. My favourite (of many I've visited) in Surrey, maybe even the South-East.

Nice little shop, but I was disappointed that when eating inside you still have to have a paper cup, cardboard cake tray and wooden fork. Not what you'd expect at all. Very little space to sit indoors and the seating we had to sit in meant every time someone had to leave the shop, we had to move our seats. Tea was nice cake was ok.

A pleasant venue with good, reasonably priced food. However, despite sitting inside, was served tea in paper cups, with nylon teabags and even 2 extra disposable containers for the milk. I brought this to the attention of the staff but the response was uninterested, and when I asked whether there was option to have a proper cup next time, there was no commitment. I dislike being served in paper cups because I find the experience unpleasant, but also because it is an incredible waste of resources. It only takes 18 uses for a china cup to equal the manufacture of paper ones, and this does not take into account the environmental impacts of transporting to and from the premises, use of resources which could be better diverted elsewhere, and the likely need for incineration or ending up in landfill where they take more than 20 years to decompose. Making a profit without best attempts to support a circular economy is unacceptable when we are in a climate emergency.

Such a charming cafe/shop, very much at the premium end of the market. Now I don't know if it's just me, but I rather enjoy coffee drunk from a proper china cup. But Nest, alas, offers premium priced coffee served in paper cups. Such a pity that so many cafes have used Covid as an opportunity to start serving coffee in cardboard.

Travelling on the M25 with a friend, we decided against the services and used Alistair Sawday's The Extra Mile site to find 'Nest,' just off junction 10. Ripley is a pretty village and there was a warm and friendly welcome at Nest. We had delicious coffee and really scrumptious homemade cake - orange and almond, and pistachio and lemon. We sat out in the sun. All so much nicer than a services stop, and just a few minutes detour.

The nest is probably the nicest thing in Ripley by a country mile but it’s quite expensive for what you get on the plate. Unfortunately I had to go home and have a proper lunch as the portion was a mouth full only. Come on guys give your customers a meal to eat and there come back more. In saying this your defiantly the nicest thing in what is a very empty village that needs move investment.

I recently called into Nest, having enjoyed the gifts and atmosphere previously. I bought 4 small cards and only realised when I had driven away that I had been charged over £11. These cards are priced @£1,50 in similar shops in St Johns Woking, and Sunningdale. The assistant seemed rather unwilling in her service too. I won’t be returning in any hurry, happy to shop elsewhere where the service is friendly and prices realistic and fair.

Used to love it here but lately, I think the whole Paul Weller thing has gone to their heads. I went in for a coffee today and they were downright rude to me. I waited outside at the end of a queue of three people as there were two or three people in there already and it's a small cafe crammed with homewares so there's not much space. The queue went down and I was at the front when two extremely obnoxious women customers came and barged in front of me so I said er excuse me I'm waiting. They said I ought to go in. I thought that was wrong under covid rules as the place looked full, but if they were going in anyway I didnt have much choice so i went in and explained to the lady at the counter that some people were queueing outside but others were saying dont queue. She looked at me blank and when i said what do you want us to do? she said 'come in ideally!' and sort of laughed in my face at how ludicrous i was being. i said fine, ordered a coffee, she told me to wait at the table at the side for my order and as i stood there the two obnoxious women then put in their order and barged me out of the way again as i waited, pushing to the front of that queue! is there something wrong with the people who come here? are they all that rude now? the place doesnt pass muster on covid regs clearly as it's packed. but i'm not really complaining about that I'm just shocked at how rude everyone was when i tried to do the right thing. oh well. maybe the whole paul weller thing has gone to their heads and they just think theyre too cool for covid rules!

If you are passing through Ripley and need a coffee then this is a great, quirky little stop. Visited yesterday and it was lovely sitting outside in the scorching heat. Obviously covid restrictions in place but they are pretty good here. Coffee came in takeaway cup. Not sure if that is normal or because of covid. I wish they wouldn’t though. It’s more disposable waste we don’t need. Coffee was good though, cakes looked fab and if you’re lucky you might bump into someone worth seeing.

Dear Covid-19,I love The Nest and have missed it dearly during lockdown.Aware that it has now reopened I visited today excited for my Nest experience, only to be bitterly disappointed by the interpretation of the necessary social-distancing restrictions.Gone is the pot of tea in your favourite teapot. Gone is beautifully garnished plates of savoury or sweet treats and gone are the complimentary dog biscuits. In turn I was able to purchase a takeaway cup of tea and a cold sausage roll in a paper bag. Something I could have purchased from the bakery across the road at a third of the price. Its a bit like buying a house with a swimming pool (not that I can afford one) if you can't swim and have no intention of trying to.So please please can you bugger off now Covid-19 and can we please get back to normal and for The Nest experience to return.I still love you Nest, but it will have to be a long distance romance until we can embrace each other again. Let's hope soon.Bye for now.X
