As a family of 5 we staggered into this delightful cafe on a boiling hot day in August 2020 and were hugely impressed with the service and freshly cooked food. Everything was fresh and hot and despite the fact that they were understaffed when we went in (and it was the end of the Government eat out to help out scheme) they were incredibly friendly and professional despite some very rude other customers. Good old fashioned food and great value for money. If I lived nearer then I would definitely be a regular customer!

We came across Nanna’s while walking around Sandwich on a hot day looking for lunch and shade. We were warmly welcomed, nothing was too much trouble, and appropriate Covid measures were in place. My husband had a baked potato with tuna mayo, I had a home made scone with jam and lashings of cream. Very tasty and nicely presented. It was very reasonably priced, I thoroughly recommend it !!

Ideal place for us to go and eat. Nice service from this small but friendly team. Immaculate cleanliness, going over and above the recommended Covid guidance while keeping it comfortable. Plenty of space too. A decent menu of good, tasty food and drinks at a competitive, decent price. Whether you go for breakfast, coffee, lunch, dinner or tea it's good. Enjoy.

Ordered a ham and cheese panini which came about the size of a sandwich for about 5 pound you get cheap processed ham its all wrapped in tin foil and tissue which gets stuck to the food . If you want a lunch AVOID its a joke for the amount you pay for

Stopped here by chance, had sausage in a roll, and was not disappointed. Did not scrimp on the sausage! The wife had a homemade soup which she thought was lovely. Keep up the good work!

Popped in last Friday with my other half for our first visit. Straight away we were made welcome and seated. My boss picked the full english I picked the vegetarian option we were even asked how we would like our eggs fried? scrambled? Or poached? Poached was my choice. We were not kept waiting long for our food and drinks. Food was brilliant hot fresh and tasty. Coffee was great too. Definitely recommend here for breakfast clean tidy and friendly food and prices great and we will be heading back again soon.

Plus sliced toast and a mug of tea!!!!My daughter had the full English light with beans, sausage, bacon and fried bread with her egg!Excellent value.Great smiley service from the owner.Kids certainly welcome not sure about dogs?Basic but clean decor-good clean look too:-)

We stopped here for a late lunch today. My husband had the Stake and Kidney Pie which was of a good size and packed with meat, I had the lamb casserole which was very tasty. Both meals came with veg, which was plentiful and nicely cooked. We followed with the Fruit Pie and custard, we both were given a good size piece of pie. We found the food to be tasty and good value for the money. The staff were friendly and we were not rushed at all. We will definitely eat here again when we next visit Sandwich and I will be recommended Nanna's to all our friends.

Popped in to Nanna's for lunch yesterday and had a really lovely lunch. A very extensive menu, including many options for my sister who is gluten free. The service was friendly and the food was delicious - especially the home made chips!

Nanna’s is a simple, straightforward and unadorned cafe with quite a varied and extensive menu. We dropped in for lunch on a rainy Monday afternoon and had an excellent meal. She had the ham and cheese panini with crisps and salad; I had the steak and ale pie with roasted potatoes, a boat of gravy, and a dish of peas, carrots and broccoli (pictured). With a soda for her and a pot of tea (Assam, out of an impressive choice of teas) for me, the total came to £15.10. The food was hearty and properly prepared, the service was pleasant, and we were quite satisfied. The menu really is surprisingly broad and the portions served are more than ample. They are open for breakfast, lunch and tea.

Popped into Nanas for a quick bite to eat, this was our first visit so we weren't really sure what to expect. As vegetarians we were very impressed with the choices that were available to us. We plumped for the Vegie Taco Feast, have to say it was lovely and we enjoyed it very much. We also liked the fact that it was nice and quiet in this café, with none of the ubiquitous tv or music noise you find in other places, and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Will definately use again. Thanks Nanas!

Eenvoudige eettent. Beperkte keuze, maar interessant zondagmenu. We aten varkensgebraad met Yorkshire pudding, baked potatoes en seizoensgroenten. Er was keuze voor het nagerecht. Heel tevreden over de kwaliteit en de hoeveelheid. Iets mindere bediening.

So disappointed. We were the only two in the cafe at about 2.30 on a Tuesday afternoon. We ordered a tuna baguette, prawn baguette l, portion of chips and 2 diet Pepsi and it came roughly to £14 which is very reasonable if the food had been nice. They are using bargain basic and it shows in the food. The baguettes were heavy and stuck to your teeth. There was so much Marie rose sauce and so few value prawns . The lettuce was limp the tomato was over ripe. The coleslaw was clearly shop brought and had only Brought the value kind. The chips looked amazing homemade but unfortunately had been cooked in a fryer that seriously needed a clean. We left all the chips they were really horrible. Guys I know it's a quiet time of the year but some cut backs are really not good and you can go way to cheap !!

Sunday morning was very busy we arrived and sat at a table full of dirty plates. The elderly gent was dashing about. After a while he came over to us and said it makes no difference if i take your order now i will get back to you. We said ok no problem but he didnt clear our table so we were left with dirty plates full of food on our table still. The gent carried on dashing about and was obviously very hot and bothered. He ducked down under the counter and mopped his face an head with a tea towel then threw the wet tea towel back onto the counter. I understand they were busy and i might have continued to wait but after watching that unhygenic incident we decided to leave. Im sure on a quieter occaison i would have had better things to say. I cant leave a review for food only for what i experienced.

Out to enjoy the Christmas Street Party in Sandwich, Kent, after a couple of hours we found ourselves feeling peckish. We saw a new cafe called 'Nanna's' so we went in and sat down...for 12 minutes! No-one came and asked us what drinks we wanted, or in fact asked us anything at all. We sat there twiddling our thumbs whilst the staff were running round without a clue. If they were busy, then they should have acknowledged us at least, and apologised for the extreme delay, but no apology was forthcoming. They knew that the street party was taking place that day, why not have more staff on? Our bill, had we stayed, would have been in excess of £30. Their loss, and inconvenient to us..outrageous. We will NOT be visiting Nanna's anytime soon.

This was my first visit so not aware of cafe's history before being named Nanna's. This would be after the chef, who may have prompted the note on the menu to refer any complaint to them, rather than Trip Advisor, who could not help. There are about 30 seats, some padded armchairs and enough space for all. Trade for a Saturday was light, but everything is cooked to order, including my lamb casserole. This came with vegetables in a separate bowl. The canned soft drinks seem over priced, but there is helpful notes in the menu about varieties of tea or coffee available. Until Christmas there is also a 3 course £16 menu with several choices. The sandwiches are what normal people ask for, and the cakes on the counter are backed up by four hot sweets including apple pie .Breakfasts available from 8am, or 08.30 Sundays, and closure is normally 5.30pm. All in all, a viable alternative to the nearby Haven, deserving support.

Much improved café, it now looks clean and tidy, unlike the previous owners shambles. Friendly couple. I plumped for the Steak and Ale Pie, it was well presented, the Pie on one hot dish, and the veg in one dish, and the chips in one dish, they were great hand cooked chips though and plenty to eat, it was very cheap. The only bugbear again, is I don't have salt on my food, there is salt on the tables so why put so much salt in the pie, it ruined it a little for me, please moderate the use of the salt. My friend had toasted Sandwiches, which came with salad and crisps on the then overloaded plate, why? I would much prefer it as a request if required, I believe it is an unnecessary extra. I hope it gets the foot traffic that it now deserves.

I had the lamb rump which was tough as old boots not given a steak knife had too ask for 1 even then couldn’t really eat the meat it was such poor quality and fatty. The gravy watery the bubble and squeak burnt and cold carrots and “buttered “ cabbage cold boiled cabbage avoid so so disappointing the whole meal was and definitely overpriced

A fabulous overnight stop in our campervan. We had a very warm welcome from Dylan who looked after us very well. The bar & restaurant was very busy however Dylan’s professionalism as a server made his job appear easy! Our food was served in a timely manner, piping hot and so delicious! The pastry on the vegetable tart was so tasty with added herbs. The gammon steak burger with an egg was very moreish. Now to the sticky toffee pudding with piping hot custard, a decent size portion, thank goodness we shared! Believe me when I say this is a lovely pub with scrumptious food, & fabulous service from Dylan
