Nando's - Southport in Sefton

Came out for a family meal to celebrate my daughters birthday. Family seemed to enjoy themselves and the staff were friendly enough. Was a bit too spicy for my liking but everyone else enjoyed their meal. Will come again!

Drove to Nandos for takaway to celebrate exam results. A very minor error was made at the point of order which caused a wrap to be have sauce on. Also, a perinase sauce was missing. I rang up and spoke with the manageress. I have had dealings with her previously and she was excellent. She was amazing again tonight. The problem was resolved effortlessly. She always makes you feel so valued. Rather than putting you of returning, I am much more likely to return again very soon. Thank you

was told max wait 15 minutes 30 minutes later the socially awkward girl said we still had another wait after letting others who came after sit. terrible customer service furniture is worn and hasn’t been refit in 20 years avoid

The service was fantastic, and the food was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole visit from tart to finish. Niall was the best host I think I have ever come across. Will defiantly be coming back. With the family next time. Thank you

As my eyes peeled opened after a deep and serene sleep in the quiet town of ormskirk, I reached my hand across the cold bed to my phone. Eyes half open as I slowly began to wake up, I see a message: ‘fancy getting some scran today?’ And like a spider sitting calmly on its web as a fly gets caught in its trap, it was instinct, nandos. A dilemma remained, a decision that would take all the brain power my groggy early morning head could muster; Southport or Aintree? A modern day to be or not to be? A decision will repercussions that could put in jeopardy my outlook on the whole day, maybe week. Which was it to be? Aintree was my usual, but on this bright, crisp, winter’s morning did I really want to sit in a retail park on the outskirts of Liverpool? Or next to the sunkissed beaches of beautiful southport? There was, ultimately, only one answer: southport. I jumped in the car, drove as quick as the law would permit and loaded in my friend. Today, donning a ‘Benidorm’ cap and a light blue t shirt- summer had started for him already, and it was the first indication this would be a special day, an oasis of summer joy in a bitter winter. Driving the back roads to southport as to avoid the traffic permitted us an opportunity to appreciate the panoramic natural beauty of west Lancashire. Finally, our destination appeared into view, the sun made the red letters glisten, calling to us, beckoning us inside its doors to its warm interior. We were greeted by a young waitress who gave us the pick of the tables, we, of course, elected to take a booth. The warmth in the atmosphere and service was only surpassed by the heat of the food. Freshly made peri salted chips; a delicious and tender butterfly chicken; and soft garlic bread. As were tucking into our food the friendly manager, a distinctive man in a Nando’s embroidered check shirt checked into us, the pride he had for his restaurant evident from the skip in his step and natural smile. He hopped from station to station, welcoming guests, cooking chicken, and tidying up - everything was perfectly in its place and immaculate. Now, sadly, as all things must, my time here is coming to an end. As I finish the last of my Fanta I realise I must soon leave this oasis, and go back to my life. I will, however, keep hold of this memory for ever. I hope your experience may be as magical as mine.

I think it's a shame when a restaurant doesn't prioritise service. Had to order through the app. I made an honest mistake of the app, being unfamiliar with it..when I asked it I could have something changed, I was met with a no, but you can pay for it again and we get it to you. Zero customer service. First and last nandos visit. What a shame.

Initially wanted to come on Saturday night, at around 7:40 but was told they were closing due to staffing issues and to come back tomorrow, which we did. The ice machine was not working properly and I don't think the frozen yoghurt machine was too! We initially tried to order on the app but it kept kicking us out, so we went up to order. The staff were really friendly and nice, but I noticed the restaurant looked very run down, the floors were dirty, sticky, more than just a busy shift dirty too, to be expected if it were very busy, but it was not as busy as I have seen it, and we were sitting where you could see straight into where the staff go in and out and it really looked dirty in there. The food arrived and while it was lovely, I still felt a bit "icky". Went to the rest room before leaving and the doors had the thickest layer of dust on them and the toilet seat was completely broken off. To me it had the feel of a restaurant that is going to close, as it seemed no care was being taken any more, and I don't know why, plenty people were visiting, I know COVID has been hard but whatever is wrong, needs being brought to someone's attention because customers will start to leave, its a real shame, because Nando's is one of our favourites!

We called in here 7 days prior to this visit. Again the ice machine still not working!! People paying good money for the food so the ice machine should be working considering how big this company is! It's not good enough, simple as that!!! Food was good so no problems there. Tool my 7 year old to the toilet only for him to read out some very inappropriate writing on the urinal, infact it was disgusting graffiti, it said NICE C*CK!! Why has this been left for children to see.. I reported this to the manager, so I'm hoping this has been removed, especially as it's a place for families too!!

Extremely busy place no surprise with the location and kids holidays but found us a table right away ordered on the app took a while due to bad WiFi but food came quickly and tasted great fresh and juicy chicken had the full platter and bottomless drinks and the wing roulette wasn't to keen on that had it in the past but this time all the wings tasted the same non were even that hot, staff seemed friendly, highly recommended just avoid the wing roulette.

We visited on Sunday and had a really lovely meal. I've never been a fan of Nandos but was pleasantly surprised by the excellent service and quality of our food. The chicken thigh burger was really tasty and the piri piri chips were crispy, hot and not at all greasy. Great value for money and I would visit here again.

Shown to our table and told we had to order from the app unless we had allergies we could order from the till. I had a voucher to use and couldn't do this via the app. The food arrived and the chips were cold and over cooked, the chicken fillet burger was cold and had that much sauce on it you couldn't taste the marinade on the chicken. My daughter ordered the strawberry cordial with her kids meal but the water from the cooler was warm and there was no ice available either. Deeply disappointed and if this was my first Nando's experience I would certainly not enter a Nando's again.

Me and my friend visited nandos around 2pm yesterday wasn’t busy, before me and my friend even finished our food they came over and took my friends plate as soon as she put her cutlery down without asking, then 5 minutes later someone came over and asked to take my plate with food still on we told them no we’re still eating and so was my friend. Thirdly another member of staff had his hand on my plate and then asked if he could take the plate which I felt as if I had to say yes as his hand was already on the plate. Seemed like we were rushed out. Not happy will go to aintree next time.

Nice food, quick and efficient service. We enjoyed our meals very much, chicken was lovely. We will return

We normally enjoy Nandos but on this occasion was exceptional I'm gluten intolerant and so extra care was taken that did not distract from the food at all

Food was what you expect from a nandos and quite nice but we all waited a long time for food whilst people that entered the restaurant after us were served first. It’s not even like we were a huge party. There was 3 of us

I was overwhelmed by the wonderful helpful staff especially Ryan who really looked after us at the Southport store. Food was lovely as well. We will be back

Nandos is the only restaurant I will eat in alone, and even with a full house on the night of the Bond film's release, this branch felt safe and welcoming for our group. We ate twice in this branch opposite our hotel during our stay....

Great on line booking system. Scan the WR code and you are added to a queue which alerts you when your table is ready, you then have 10 minutes to arrive. This enabled us towait in the dry of our hotel room rather than having...

Chicken was dry as if it had been frozen and defrosted or cooked a while ago and reheated. Portion sizes were significantly smaller considering paying full restaurant prices. Wouldn't recommend.

Came here with my sister for some lunch, the food came out quickly, unfortunately I found a bone in my chicken wrap however Ollie who looked after us handled this so well! It got changed immediately and we offered free desserts! Which were amazing. Just...

Strange to start a restaurant review with comments about safety but this is the Covid era! The process for booking a table and gaining access to the restaurant is well managed via secure QR code. Staff were extremely welcoming and couldn't do enough to deliver...

Good customer service and nice food. I have been lots of times and food always arrives fast and taste great. Staff are friendly and supportive if you don't know what to order.

1st ever visit to a nandos and was very impressed, I had the butterfly chicken with spicy rice and broccoli and was very nicely cooked and was surprised that you could get two sides for good value for money! Excellent choice of spices and sauces...

Went here today with my Mum for lunch. Great location in the heart of Southport, very friendly and professional service from staff, bottomless soft drink refills, good choice of spices and beautiful food! I had the grilled chicken wrap with medium-level spice and yoghurt mayonnaise...

Staff are pleasant and polite and food is served quick. Its chicken so what can go wrong . Worth a visit if chicken is your thing , I enjoy it

Had the medium peri peri half chicken with peri peri chips & coleslaw. Cooked to perfection and bottomless soft drink as they call it to refill as you please. Premises and toilets very clean and good service so can't fault. Good location with plenty of parking. Will definitely visit again next time in Southport.

The surroundings could do with a bit of updating but the staff are excellent.I confused the person who took my order and he was really helpful. When I received my food the chicken on one side was tough and dry. The manager came over and sorted it immediately and returned in a short time with a perfectly cooked chicken. Thank you for great customer service.

Two of us went for a meal got put on table 5 not the best table in the place a lick of paint would go down well in the corner.Food ordered and arrived pretty quick.Nothing special.The place was busy so obviously the place appealed to some people but afraid we will not be visiting again.

One might say that Nando's are all the same - but they're not... Found the customer service in this restaurant well above the average for Nando's. The staff were ALL polite, attentive and you feel that they are actually bothered about your experience. Thank you Nando's Southport :))

Having never been to Nandos before, I wasn't sure what to expect or even what to order! Staff were very helpful (and patient!) and I choose the butterfly chicken with sweetcorn and peri-peri fries...wow! Absolutely gorgeous. Food packed with layers of spice and flavour, incredibly succulent chicken and perfectly seasoned corn. It might have been my first visit but it certainly won't be my last.....

Dropped by for food a few times whilst staying in the Premier Inn opposite. Offered faster and cheaper family food that the other outlets including the Brewers Fayre.

I visited this southport branch with my family , I received fantastic service from the team , especially from Emily , sophie and Antoni . Me and my family was well looked after on our visit. I want to thank everyone who make our visit real .

We often go to Nando’s mid week for tastes chicken, this one branch in-particular always seems chaotic. The staff do try there best. On out last visit, I couldn’t help but seen the lack of hygiene in the prep/cooking area. Hair nets worn by some, not by others when doing the same job, I counted numerous occasions were 1 individual would take the hair net off/on/off/on.... what is the standard here? The was debris on the floor in the cooking area were staff continued to just step over it. The whole time I was there, they were storing souse directly on the floor, food safety and basic hygiene would have field day in this establishment. Sort it out Nando’s!

Family visit to Nandos Southport on a Bank Holiday weekend bound to be busy. It was but we manged to get a table for 4 at around 1330 hours

Visited here with wife and child on the last evening of our short break to Southport. Greeted by a pleasant young lady who kindly showed us where to put my daughters trike whilst we ate. Showed us to our table which was clean. Wife ordered and food arrived quickly. Food tasted great - fresh, tasty and cooked to perfection. Thank you

Enjoy Nando’s as it’s a no fuss place and I like the selection of food and flexibility of the menu. The food is really nice and unfussy and feels healthy. If you’re trying to eat healthily but enjoy a meal out it’s a good place to go.

The restaurant doesn't allow you to book. We arrived at 7pm and were told it was a 50 minute wait. I expressed my concern that as a mother I was leaving my 16 year old and her friends for her birthday and I found it ridiculous that we couldn't book. This apparently is the manager's rule as it works for them and not company policy. The manager was rude, opinionated and not friendly. We left and went elsewhere. We don't advise going there.

Chicken Burger was ok but dry sauces ok. wife hadn’t eaten all day and had the wings she felt sick 2 hrs later 4hrs later was vomiting a number of times.

If you would like to know why we walked out within seconds of arriving (seeing as no one stopped us on the way out to find out why), it was because of the appalling manner in which we were treated. Upon arriving at the restaurant we went to sit down in one of the (dirty) booths and were promptly scowled at by a waiter. Although I later found out that this is not correct Nando's protocol - you should wait by the entrance - it was the middle of the afternoon and nearly empty! When the waiter brought us over our number on a stick he mumbled something, scowled again and walked off.

This is one of my favourite nando's which we visit at least once a year. A fresh pleasant place to eat. Plenty of tables and service is always great. Always busy and the staff always aim to please. Our meals were excellent and quick to come. One of the best nando's in the North

Polite staff, quick service, good chicken. We were told a 20 minute wait for a table but were seated in much less than that.

Simply put, this was everything you expect from Nando’s, predictable as death and taxes. Quick service- our food arrived sharply like being sent from a kitchen bow firing succulent chicken arrows! Well done

Even though the place was jam packed, we still got our food super quick, love the wings whenever I go and this one is no exception!

Went recently with my son whilst on an overnight trip in Southport. Went in at 8.15pm on a Thursday night. Went up to order the chicken platter and was told they had no chickens cooked and they had some more in the oven that would be ready in 35-40mins time but I could have burgers!!!

Ordered the chicken livers which was Very salty, couldn’t eat it, thought it might of been me so I asked a member of my family and they also concluded very salty. Didn’t get offered a replacement meal. Would of liked the chef or management to have eaten it,they need to taste what there serving up or what has been complained about.

Just because your food is nice does not mean you can give poor service! Dropped one of our sides then took 20 mins to replace it as they had forgot, wrong sides on my sons meal also. First time having gone to a Nando’s and reluctant to go again. Food was decent but don’t see what everyone raves about!

Worst Nando’s I’ve ever been too. 4 of us asked for the booth they said no crammed us in the middle and let 2 people sit there? The staff behind the desk had no idea what they were doing they had no glasses so I payed for a drink and was told they’d bring one over, my friend returned with glasses and 15 minutes went on still no glass. No cutlery , all sauce bottles empty. The worst is the first meal cake out half an hour before the last and there was only 4 of us! To top it off there was also a bit of packaging wrapper left on my cheesecake. Love Nando’s but this specific resteraunt is so bad.

Sorry to say but it was all in all an awful experience. On arrival we were able to pick our seat and given menus...the place looked like it could do with a scrub down..dirty tables and floors etc, staff seemed pleasant enough and my daughter had chosen nando so we perservered. I had to return the drinks glasses given to us as they were filthy..the ice machine was out of order (hot day) took a while to find cutlery that was clean and the serviettes were covered in crumbs..ew. I commented to my hudband that I hoped the burgers sat on the counter top for a good 15mins werent ours as theyd be cold..saw chips finally added to the plate and bingo over came hot chips stone cold burger..asked for a replacement burger only to watch that also sit on the top for a while and come over luke warm this time bizarely with extra chips?? We ate it we couldnt be bothered complaining again. Fyi to the manager on a laptop in a booth...only 4 booths and quite a nice seating option was it necessary or professional for you to hog that with your laptop wire trailing across the floor? One poor family with a pram and a baby were left with the only option to sit in a hot window seat (hot day) when that booth would have been ideal!

First experience of eating at a Nando's, very welcoming and the staff worked very hard to look after you. My daughter is celiac and her gluten free needs were met very well. The girl who took my order personally went to the chef and team to inform them of her meal needing to be gluten free. My wife and I had a sharing main course, really tasty. The Nandino meals were good value and my children enjoyed them, especially my daughter and her gluten free main meal. The only issue was that you had to go to the till to order extra drinks, I like it in restaurants where staff come and check if you want another drink. Because of this you feel the need to leave almost as soon as you have eaten rather than enjoying extra drinks and the atmosphere.

Me and my friend came for lunch, food was nice and usual expectations from Nando’s. Staff checked everything was okay with our food and overall was a nice experience

I don’t know what it is with this place but every time I have been, the the restaurant is freezing cold. Surely the management must sense a problem when 90% of customers are leaving their coats on whilst they dine. To cap it all off the staff are dead slow and stop and due to the time you have to wait coupled with the near baltic temperatures, by the time you do get your food, you have to send it back as Its colder than a green salad. Think I will check out Frankie and Bennies next time..

First visit to Southport nandos, very impressed from the get go. Inside decor was fitting and atmosphere was bustling... Food arrived in great time and was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked! The garlic bread was excellent, most places seem to overcook it but this was done beautifully.

We visited on a very busy Monday lunch time for a bite to eat before a film. Service was extremely slow which was clear when our food took almost over an hour to arrive! When it did arrive, we were both given the wrong food. I ordered a Caesar salad and was presented with a Mediterranean salad and my boyfriend had ordered a plain burger but received one covered in mayonnaise. We immediately made a member of staff aware who took them away but we watched as one particular staff member sighed and shook her head when receiving our sent back food. We were made to feel rather uncomfortable and a bit of a nuisance when it was not our fault. It was clear the establishment was very understaffed on this particular day and tables were left dirty! We did eventually receive the correct food but I wouldn’t go back to this particular nandos in a hurry!

Went to this nando's today with my family. NINE of us stood waiting for five minutes and not one member of staff had the courtesy to even acknowledge us, let alone speak. The restaurant was maybe half full so not busy. Very disappointing, not the service expected of Nando's.

Only the second time I’ve been to Nando’s as I think it’s quite expensive for what you get .

We stopped here during a charity walk from Liverpool to Glasgow. This was after our 1st day of walking and was exactly what we need tasty grub good service and a cracking atmosphere. It was the 1st time I'd been to a Nando's for a while but it's always good food. I had the double breast pitta and it filled me up!

Called in after a long day, for something different. Iv always wondered what it was about Nando's that got people so fired up saying it's great etc. If you love chicken and hot spice it's awesome. If you fancy anything other than chicken and spice, not so. Good points, you can get bottomless drinks, of all the favourites, and there's also a bottomless fat free frozen yoghurt of the day, which happened to be mango when we visited. Bad points, it was very noisy with music up loud so it was hard to have a conversation, the chicken I had was very dry,and needed mayo, but the mayo was very tasty. Service was good cocidering how busy they were. Altogether not a bad visit, but I won't be rushing back.

Went to this branch on Sunday 18th with my daughter's. It was busy as weather was great and visitors were aplenty. Food was good as always however let down by poor service . Wait time even though busy was unacceptable at 35 mins and order was wrong when came. Food was good quality and tasty yet visit was let down by poor service

Had a Carbonara ,worst ever,sauce was just butter,very dry ,discusting,complained but made no difference bad value for money ,never again.

Great something for everyone and great for large groups and you can even if you are a fussy water or have kids

Four of us came to eat in Nando's for the first time...terrible. The staff were friendly and attentive, but the food was disappointing. We ordered 3 chicken caeser salads one with added haloumi cheese extra. The menu says two full chicken breasts - we each only got one. It says we should get croutons - one dish had 2 the others none. The dressing was difficult to find maybe a splash and no more than that, and the plate was overflowing with salad. For the price of the dish and the fact we did not get what we ordered is terrible and disappointing. It was until nearing the end of the dish when we realised the croutons were missing and felt too embarrassed to tell the staff. Wouldn't recommend Nando's as a place to eat based on the overpriced food which is quite frankly mediocre.

Staff are great, full of character except the odd one or two. You can't beat spicy chicken, love the inside decor! If you're going the cinema perfect place to go after!

Restaurant only half full but they would not let us choose our own table. Tried to put us on a really small table so we decided not to stay. The let us leave rather than let us choose a table.Waiter very stubborn and not very friendly.

My wife likes Nando's much better than I do. The concept is great for teenagers but the food is only ok at best. Served by teenagers that would rather be out with their mates than serving your meal, but need a job as dad says so. With the odd friend popping in for all to stop and great each other and chat as your food get colder and colder by the minute under the small hot light you can see in the distance. When it arrives my mind tells me I shouldn't have bothered.

My daughter and I and little grandson stopped here for a bite to eat after a lovely walk around Southport. I hate to admit but have never been to Nando's before and was not to sure what to expect. Shown to our table and told how to order and pick any sauce that was laid out on the table. I opted for Grill chicken in a wrap in a medium spice with chips and my daughter a beanie burger and chips. What a super lunch, it was tasty and the Nando Garlic Peri Peri sauce had such a kick in it. Friendly staff and also provide high chair for babies. Very good !!!!

Guys - come on, Nandos, it must be the most consistent chain in the world. I have never had a bad Nandos and I never thank the lord for the food I have been blessed with on my plate but it is very nice food. It is a Nandos - staff are friendly, layout is nice, ordering over the phone is quick and easy.

Simple menu, low prices, fast and friendly service, clean tables and toilets. What more do you want?

The food was as good as always. The new menu is great and there is plenty of choice! It isn't too expensive either and you can add extras for a small addition like the fino sides are only 80p extra.

The food is good, the service friendly, the sauces are superb, but the prices keep me from going often.

I prefer this Nando's to the one in Liverpool. It is not too big but is spacious enough but I find the food is always cooked to perfection and there's always a good atmosphere. The staff are helpful and friendly. There's free parking and plenty of it too. Also good location to go for a Nando's and then go to the cinema or bowling.

Went to Nandos in southport yesterday (12th feb 17 ) ordered burgers which we usually get, when they got served they were cold , not a good meal on this occasion .

Parking an absolute nightmare!!! That's the only downfall though. Restaurant was very clean and well presented and all the staff where friendly and the manager was lovely!! Food spot on. Definitely would come again if we didn't have such a nightmare trying to park.

My wife and I found this place by mistake but in the end it turned out to be the best mistake that we ever made.

My 16 yr old daughter fainted whilst ordering her food. Ryan the manager and an assistant could not have been any more helpful. They took personal responsibility for her up until, and after I arrived, by which point she had again fainted. An ambulance had been called and Ryan had stayed on the phone to ambulance control the whole time, the ambulance still hadn't Rrived after 24 minutes of him being on the line! My daughter thankfully has no residual symptoms, apart from feeling slightly embarrassed. A huge thanks to Ryan and the staff at Southport for their support and up-beat handling of the situation from a very great full Mother and Daughter.

walked in Southport Nando's and and met by friendly staff who apologised for the sticky floor and told me the items which had ran out before I ordered. When I sat down the table was also sticky. I did not complain, I just wanted to eat and go. The chicken was hot and had a good amount of chicken taken off the bone but the rice and corn on the cob was cold.+ friendly staff+chicken-rice-corn on the cob-sticky table and floor

I have visited Nando's in southport many times, as it's a firm favourite of my sons. The food is always good and service is quick and friendly. Except on our last occasion, there were 9 of us paying two separate checks but at the same time. Their food arrived but we had to wait half an hour before our food showed up. The manager was extremely apologetic and offered us free drinks and desserts which we were happy with. The food is consistently good and the free refills are a great idea. Can get very busy at weekends so be prepared to wait.

Visited Nandis today @southport. Restaurant clean tidy well presented both out and inside. Not busy but was stood a while waiting to be seated. Eventually seated clean table. Service good order and arribed. Food was great. Only downside on visiting restrooms the gents had a very strong smell of urine..The urinals have water saver filters in that must not be working and the toilet wall spray freshener was disable / turn off. This made the toilets smell like a run a down public loo. Hold your noise and be quick.

Took my mum & son to this Nandos in Southport on 30/12/16 for a bite to eat after the cinema. Booked the table earlier on in the day, and good job we did, as when we arrived, there were about 20 people waiting to be seated. The staff in there were very helpful, and the food was great, as you would expect from Nandos. All in all, great food, great service and we got exactly what we were wanting for the money we were spending.....

Food is always nice, service is normally ok, nothing special, it has a nice atmosphere, wish there were better choice of desserts!
