Monty Cafe in Windsor and Maidenhead

We stopped here this morning for breakfast. Always support independents instead of chains. The service was friendly, the decor was nice but did look like it needed a little tlc ( behind the counter and the toilets). The food was tasty and the pricing good.

We called in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the food and service. We were 4 adults and a toddler. The kids meal was good value with a wide choice of main, icecream and a juice. Everyone enjoyed their meals this included carbonara, lasagna, fish and chips, steak. They serve good coffee. The cafe was really clean and with a relaxed atmosphere.

Excellent service (quick and pleasant) and brunch and, unusually, a very clean cafe. I will go again.

Absolutely awful breakfast. Eggs were raw, beans were cold, staff didn't check on us so we couldn't complain, no eye contact made. Also ordered oat flat whites, double checked the would be oat milk, still arrived at normal milk. No apologies given when we complained when paying the bill, still charged full price. Wanted to split the bill but my friend was charged the whole amount. Disgusting service!!!

We had Full English breakfasts and my daughter had poached eggs and avocado. The eggs on all three plates were over cooked and had hard yolks, the bacon was undercooked and the fat on the bacon looked raw. Sausage and hash brown was nice. Overpriced at £12.50 when there are brasseries up the road which offer a better quality of food for a similar price. It was empty too which I think speaks volumes. Won't be returning. Shame as always enjoyed previous meals.

Stopped for lunch at this little restaurant, so glad we did staff were friendly, restaurant was spotlessly clean. Great choice of menu, my sister in law, chose the chicken Burger, I had fish and chips. Both meals were cooked and presented well. And of course a large glass of pinot grigio to finish. Great value for money all freshly cooked.

Sunny Saturday lunchtime and the cafe was not as busy as usual which I suspect may have something to do with the ‘street food’ event happening that day in town. Went in and stood by the rostrum and waited to be seated. Three members of staff chatting at the bar area, one male who appeared to be behind the bar and two females customer side. Waited some more. One member of staff at the bar looking directly at us. Waited some more. Staff continue their chat. Waited some more. There are plenty or food options in Windsor so we gave up waiting and went to try one of the many other restaurants. Perhaps the ‘street food’ event wasn’t the only reason the cafe was quiet that day.

A small cafe off the tourist route in Windsor that serves a limited range of stunning meals. Service is prompt. We had the 'full monty' for a brunch and it's a generous tasty meal.

We have been here multiple times over the past 2 years and every time the food and staff have been amazing. Their breakfast is clean and everything is cooked perfectly, easily the best I have had in the area. Highly recommend for all times of the day for a great meal and a friendly service

Less than average breakfast. Disappointed by a poached egg Benedict with salmon/avocado. The 2 eggs looked like coming out of a pre-made microwaveable sachet. Perfectly domed and plasticky looking and tasting. Please do not charge premium prices if you cannot cook a proper poached egg from scratch.

Our son Monty chose this place for Sunday brunch. Good food, flexible with requests to swap out bacon etc. Also good view for any who like watching the planes coming in.

Happened to spot this place when wandering looking for a place for breakfast. Good selection of food. Friendly staff, really lovely to our little man. Food was OK. A little on the pricey side for what it is but I'm guessing this is due to the location. We were overcharged but this was rectified as soon as I pointed it out.

We were a group of 7 who were served quickly and efficiently - we all ordered different meals and variations of- they all arrived together nicely presented and with no errors.

It’s so close to my house, food is great, price is affordable and many customers are regulars. Customers are free to give tips for the attentive and warm service. It’s also one of the places that open early enough for the early birds.

Had a lovely brunch at Monty's today.Great choice for a late breakfast (served till 1). The food was good and the prices reasonable. I liked that we didn't feel rushed in anyway. We sat chatting in peace for nearly 2 hours. If we'd had more time on the parking meter, we no doubt would've stayed for something more. We had a lovely friendly waitress too.Have been a few times to Monty's over the years and will certainly be back. Maybe a bit more often than usual.

Decided to visit following the range of great reviews on here. As I walked in, decided I wouldn’t be having the sausages as they didn’t look great quality, nor would I have poached eggs as they are poached in moulds rather than directly into boiling water. Went for a cheese & mushroom omelette which was fine. Hot drinks expensive for the portion size - I ordered a second tea to enjoy with my omelette as the first was drank while I waited for the food. At £2 each, thought it was quite pricey. Cafe is very clean & waiting staff are very polite. It was fine but I doubt it’s the best breakfast in Windsor

We were recommended Monty's for breakfast so we sought it out. The full english was Ok - not special. There was 1 slice of white (stale) toast, beans that weren't Heinz!, and a sausage that wasn't particularly nice. Then 1 slice of bacon which was so hard it was hard to cut. The eggs were fine! The bacon baguette was bizarre. Not sure if it had been cooked or not or maybe put in the microwave, but it was doughy and floppy and not very nice to eat. Real shame as we were expecting more and it's not cheap. We would not go back.

Over and over again I've had brunch, lunch, and even dinner at Montys and its always been a total hit. Among my favourite orders are the steak pie, fish and chips of course, and anything on the breakfast menu is fab.

Das grosse Frühstück war auch mit grosser Familie kein Problem für die Bedienung. Weder an Qualität noch an Freundlichkeit mangelte es. Mit zwei Full Monty Menüs + 3 Pancakes ein scrambled egg war der Preis günstiger als in einem Hotel. Preis/Leistung sehr gut. Wir komme gerne wieder!

From snacks to the Full Monty via Eggs Benedict and on to grills for lunch Monty's is very clean, comfortable, not too cramped and with very efficient staff. Expertly plated with not a drip in sight and everything hot and perfectly cooked.

Arrived at around 12.30pm and still in time for breakfast which was served until 1pm. We both went for the Full Monty English breakfast - absolutely delicious! Service was quick and friendly, and the cafe has a really clean, spacious and relaxed feel. Slightly out of the way of the main tourist area, and worth the wander. I come here quite frequently for breakfast/brunch, I always feel like the food never fails. It’s always hot, on point and delightful. The price of everything is definitely your money’s worth. However the last time I went in I ordered a bottle of water which took 20 minutes when it wasn’t even busy.

Visited here for coffee and a bite to eat. We wanted to avoid a chain place and this cafe was packed so we opted for here. It serves a large range of cafe usuals - breakfasts, waffles, pancakes, as well as a list of dinners and desserts, and good coffee. The service was ace, the place was clean, and the food was straightforward but tasty.

The breakfast/brunch menu isnt available all day which is a shame as we had just missed the cut off. The lunch menu was limited but tasty. Might want to consider extending breakfast which is what they are known for!

I go here every day for breakfasts, the staff girls are always a delight despite my morning moods, they brighten up my day and have me on my way with a well cooked made to order breakfast. I am fussy with ingredient quality and comfortably say on a day to day basis I am never left disappointed. Keep it up Montys!

Called in as passing and in Windsor morning. We sat in and sample a veggie breakfast and bagel then had a select of sandwiches to take away. All were very tasty and the staff were friendly. Would definitely recommend if you are near Monty's.

We visited twice for breakfast and the service was good and food very tasty and nicely cooked especially the lovely light and fluffy omelette.

Three of us had lunch. The salads were delicious and the steak and ale pie filljng and tasty. We had some nice wine by the glass and a delicious waffle and ice cream pudding. All for £21 per head!

I went with a couple of friends for a late breakfast and it was really busy as usual but we managed to get a table quite quickly . The food was excellent and the staff are very efficient and polite . I never feel hassled to leave which is nice especially as they are so busy .

Solo quería un poco de almuerzo en mi descanso, así que pensé que la sopa sería una buena solución saludable. Fue muy agradable, solo faltaba mantequilla para el pan. Casi me cobraron la cantidad equivocada, pero el camarero se disculpó y es un error fácil de cometer cuando no está mirando la lista de precios.

I would highly recommend the salmon and cream cheese bagel. Staff were lovely and service was fast. Perfect for a nice brunch - solo or with friends.

Fuimos el sábado por la mañana basado puramente en las críticas, ya que no es local de la zona y no me decepcionó. Tenía el desayuno completo con pudín negro añadido y un par de tazas de café, no se puede quejar de la comida, todo estaba delicioso. El personal era amable y la decoración era agradable y moderna, mi única queja es que las mesas parecían un poco juntas. Sin duda volvería si en Windsor nuevamente requiere brunch.

Montys se ve muy bien y de calidad con su decoración de lujo. Tuve los huevos revueltos y salmón ahumado servido con pan tostado. La tostada era muy normal, casi no estaba tostada y con mantequilla, por lo que la mayoría de los cafés de lujo sirven la mantequilla por separado hoy en día. Los huevos eran pequeños pero bien. La parte más decepcionante fue el salmón ahumado que tenía demasiado marrón. ¿Por qué un chef no recortaría estos trozos? ! No volverá .

Friendly service, good food. The breakfast was spot on and served very quickly. The restaurant is bright and airy. If your in Windsor for a tour pop in and have a bite.

This place is always busy, but service this weekend was pretty poor - they didn’t bring my juice, the breakfast was warm at best, the fried eggs were over cooked and not runny and the muffin on the eggs Benedict had not even been toasted. Disappointing.

Went for a lunch takeaway and the food was delicious. I always try different things and they never disappoint I would definitely recommend the caesar salad it's absolutely delicious. The staff are nice and friendly and always welcoming. I would definitely recommend this cafe.
