To be honest, It took me a while to warm to Miretti's. The cafe seems to lack a little something - it is a little ascetic, or lacking in warmth as a space. But there's plenty of warmth from the proprietors. Their coffee is second to none. It's lovely to sit outside and watch the world go by, and all their fantastically home-made cakes are delicious. I'd particularly recommend the chocolate and hazelnut torte. But their little chocolate tarts are excellent if you want something small...

Miretti's do one of the best coffees in Deal. I'd really rate them for that. They also have a few delicious Italian pastries. They have quite a few local regulars who sit in the chairs outside and converse with passers by, which is nice. But the inside of the restaurant is one of the most 'sterile' looking places I've ever seen. Thoroughly uninviting (which is why I never went in for at least two years!). It wouldn't take much to make it more appealing - but maybe they don't want more customers? Also, the fridge in the picture is never more than 25% full of food. Odd place, but great coffee.

We have visited Miretti before with friends whilst we were in Deal and really enjoyed the coffee. As we were in Deal again with the same friends (well we love Deal), we decided to have a coffee in Miretti again. I can only say, that the coffee we had there, was possibly amongst the best I have tasted. This is largely due to the care and attention they take in preparing it, plus of course the quality of the coffee used. So many coffee establishments insist on using boiling water when making coffee. Boiling water kills the taste of coffee and should never be used! Next time we are in Deal, we will be making straight for Miretti!

Very relaxed and tasteful place that serves excellent coffee in a very friendly environment. Not really a place to eat as the food is mostly small cakes etc, but certainly well worth the visit.

I often have a coffee and slice of cake here. it is a joyous experience. I am not a big coffee fan, but the coffees here are wonderful. There is nice selection of traditional cakes - all beautifully made by hand. Eclairs, slices of chocolate cake, walnut cake. And lots of magazines to read.

We went in for a coffee, couldn't resist the pastries on display, chose Americano's and Lemon Tart's. Very friendly service, we sat at a table inside (there's only a few) and our order soon followed. The fresh Coffee was delicious, and lemon tarts mouthwatering. We where told all the cakes and pastries are made on the premises, and they certainly taste home made. We will definitely return. Well done!

El café, y deliciosos pasteles, mantén volver ya que la calidad es muy buena. No una variadísima selección, pero lo suficientemente para permitir una buena elección, tuve un pastel de naranja que casi me harán derretir, chocolate de avellanas también era exquisito.

The standard of the cakes and pastries on offer is excellent. The coffee is too. As expected by the name, it is esentially an Italian coffee shop selling the cakes and pastries and ice cream. There is no hot food or savoury snacks. It is great for a morning coffee or afternoon cake and drink. It is lovely to have the ice cream during the warmer weather. Would highly recommend as a stop off during shopping. Yummy treats!

This was our first visit to Miretti's and we were disappointed. The cake we had was very nice but it was very expensive in comparison to other places in Deal. The room was austere and echoed a lot which made hearing difficult. Sadly not a comfortable atmosphere. We were expecting a pleasant experience and were presented with an indifferent one.

I liked Minetti's when it first opened but now if you are a normal Deal resident the staff are totally indifferent. I dislike chain coffee shops and love Italian coffee but the indifference of staff has many beat a path away from this caf.

This is a quintessentially Italian place. Mrs L and I had cappuccino and a slice of Italian chocolate almond cake. Very nice, too. However, I wasn't sure if this was a patisserie, a cafe both, neither or what. There are about three tables inside, so its not large. It was doing a steady trade, which implies that it's popular. VFM was fine and the staff were amiable enough..

Poped in just after lunch for coffee and desert. Coffee lovely, owner very friendly and explained every item available to my wife. I had a slice of amazing lemon tart with a flat white (OK, so that's not Italian). Spotlessly clean, lots of lovies frequent the cafe, usually found sitting on a pavement table. Deal has a number of great cafes and restaurants, and this is one of the best.

Walk by Miretti's on a Saturday morning and you'll see the hardcore group of locals sitting outside catching up on Deal's gossip! During the week this little coffee shop attracts those who appreciate the real thing and would never be seen dead in a Costa with its frenzied atmosphere. Miretti's is a little haven of peace; gentle classical music in the background, newspapers and magazines to browse through, just a handful of tables and chairs (specially imported from Italy by owner Paulo), excellent choice of coffee and fine tea, and, of course, the little pastries lovingly made on the premises by Paulo's fair hand. He also makes 'proper' ice cream advertised on a small sign behind the counter (I think he should shout about this more as who else in Deal offers real Italian ice cream in all its pistachio/almond/strawberry/chocolate and vanilla glory?) Quite rightly, Paulo has rebuffed suggestions to make savoury offerings, firmly sticking to his Italian guns that good coffee is complemented by good sweetmeats! In between all this, he still finds time to regularly change his front window which is always elegantly 'dressed'. Located at the north end of the High Street, Miretti is a bit of a secret for locals but it has its visitors too. Paulo, his wife Katherine and young son Alex have become friends to many locals - their little family becoming very much part of Deal's family.

This cafe’ is one of the real jewels in Deal’s crown. It is run by the ever affable Paolo who makes all of the delicious cakes on display himself. There is always a newspaper to read and classical music in the background, needless to say the coffee is second to none. Places like this provide the perfect antidote to the faceless chains which seem to be swallowing all the charm and individuality of our high streets.Top marks all round for Miretti, if only they served savoury dishes I’d go there for lunch too!

Upon entering La Salle Verte I found myself in a state of confusion, I was not in a green room after all, instead I was in a well presented Cafe in the heart of Dover. I was greeted by smiley faces which is rare to see in such a glum town. The humans who run this place truly do appear joyful and welcoming. Their hot drinks were very good, packed with flavour and somewhat orgasmic from the moment it smoothly runs along the tastebuds, this state of mind tragically came to an end all to soon (unlike me.) The idea of crisps as a side to acompany made me smile inside, this inner smile soon became a storm when I ate them though, it appears these crisps could have been from a bag opened in my childhood, possibly even years before in the 1980s.

The sun was shining so we decided to try Whitemills Kitchen for an Al fresco lunch. My husband and I had the chicken and ribs sharer and it was stunning. Succulent juicy ribs and chicken with corn, coleslaw and a large bowl of fries and all washed down with a nice cold glass of wine. The staff are excellent and we really enjoyed watching the wakeboarding. We will definitely return.
