Our recent experience at Guildford Megan’s was brilliant. We’ve been to many other Megan’s but the food was better than I remembered, our waitress Julia was fantastic, helpful and friendly (and so kind towards our 2 y/o daughter too). Thank you for a really lovely experience! Sophie & Rob

Have been a couple of times before and today had another lovely birthday lunch with friends - love the decor and ambience; the food is excellent and our waiter Jay was amazing. Would really recommend for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner! .

We visited Megan's today, Saturday 28th Dec 2024. When coming in we were greeted nicely and had a good feeling about the place. The initial service was fine before we got our food. The food was only ok, not great at all. The main issues were all the servers touched and played with a dog but none of the washed their hands. The guy who gave us the food touched and the lady who took away our plates also did. The lady who took payment and gave me the recipe had touched the dog before and not washed her hands. When I raises it with her initially she ignored me twice then she started pushing it into her colleagues until I had to say I've seen her touch the dog. When we were leaving the two women were laughing about it. To be honest, having paid £47 for a very basic breakfast for two was bad enough but then to see that and be treated that was has disgusted me!

Just returned home after a very disappointing visit to Megan’s Guildford. We were going to go to Bills, our usual breakfast choice, but decided to try Megan’s for our 36th wedding anniversary. Despite informing them of our anniversary, we were not offered any celebratory drinks and were charged £4.90 for hash browns that we didn’t have!

Jay was excellent. Great food and atmosphere.

We had a great bottomless brunch at Megan’s. Julie was amazing! She magical brought the drink the moment the put the empty glass on the table! The food is really tasty as well and there is a good choice of food as well! Nice atmosphere and super cost place

We had a wonderful brunch today. We're regular visitors and have had done birthday events here. Jay was our waiter today, and was really friendly and caring towards us and the kids, and we feel he went the extra mile for us. Thanks for a great afternoon

Came in for some post shopping drinks and nibbles. Perfect location for anyone wanting to do the same! Delicious snacks/starters and the cocktails (we caught happy hour) were brilliant. Marcel was attentive and thorough, couldn’t fault anything. The fit out of the bar was brilliant too. A new favourite

Such a disappointment. Menu looked fab but all 3x main course dishes completely dried out. Guessing they’d been left under kitchen heat lamps which was surprising as food came very quickly. In contrast, side orders of fries were stone cold.

Went for tea and cake. Both quite nice, but service slow and a little almost dismissive..... then they have the cheek to add 12.5% service charge...

Jay @ Guildford branch is the most amazing ambassador for Megan's. Mom's - and old school friends - out for a catch up and Jay made us feel so looked after - what a change of pace! Many many thank yous for a happy Xmas outing xx

I visited Guildford branch last week. Sometimes you receive a card for your next visit offering a free coffee or glass of wine. I had a coffee and a cake. My card stated free coffee with ANY FOOD. When I paid my bill I was told CAKE is not classified as food. I disputed this and said it was gross misrepresentation. This argument took place with two managers in front of other diners. I was given a free coffee but they would not concede that people would interpret it the same as me. I understand what it was supposed to mean but the manager just would not accept my case. There was no leeway. Needless to say I won't be visiting Megan's again.

Disappointed with the service and food. The food was underwhelming, and they charged a service fee without justification for the quality provided. Also charged me for the table next to me. I’ve tried to resolve this issue for over 4 weeks, but there’s been no response or resolution. Truly appalling—wouldn’t recommend. #BadService #CustomerExperience”

A group of friends and I tried to eat here last night. We hadn't booked, maybe that's our downfall, however, as a high street eatery you'd hope they'd be trained how to deal with people without a booking. After a wait to speak to a member of staff, they scurried off to discuss a table for us. Ten minutes later we were led through the restaurant and upstairs past numerous empty tables for four. It's never a good sign when you have to eat upstairs anywhere, it usually lacks any buzz. or atmosphere. I'm happy to say it was busy and lively, apart from the side room where we were seated. It was desolate. I can fully understand if we were four rowdy teens and they wanted to hide us away, however, as four middle aged men with money to spend, we felt profiled and unwanted. We sat for the best part of fifteen minutes and not a single member of staff checked in on us. No drinks, no starters, no mains. We voted with our feet and went elsewhere, somewhere appreciative of our custom despite our age. I was in Farnham today and noticed another Megan's had opened up. It'll need more than lightbulbs in new, shabby chic bird cages to make me enter. I'm confident this chain will go the same way as most in the next year or two. Enjoy your profitability while people are still naive enough to accept poor quality service and rip off prices for a kebab.

Came the other day for dinner. The food arrived promptly and was delicious. Our server , Chahla was lovely and very helpful. Would recommend highly!

Very poor overall. I had high hopes for this place as the ambiance was great and the menu looked right up my street for breakfast. The coffee was great but the food was awful. I paid £16.50 for the Boxing Day breakfast and it was an absolute joke. Served barely warm and the portion size was very stingy. The tiniest little pot of beans you have ever seen that I literally ate with one fork full. Poor quality sausages that reminded me of the cheap junk you get in Little Chef. My wife ordered salmon and it had clearly just been pulled out the packet and chucked on the plate. Rostis were basically just freezer food you pop in the air fryer. So, so disappointed. I won’t be coming back. Ever. Go to Bills instead. Waitress service was fine, not their fault. But the kitchen staff, shame on you.

I’ve been to Megan’s a few times and Marcel has always been so lovely and gives the best service along with the rest of the team. Will be coming back here for a long time

Had a fantastic after wedding celebration at Megan's by the Castle! The venue (Bird Cage) was piqturesque, suits our rustic themed wedding. Food was great! Everyone literally has to unbutton pants to make room for the dessert. The drinks especially the espresso martini gave us extra boost to dance and laugh the night away! Service was top notch. Everyone greeted and accomodated us with warmth and joy. Thank you to Preethi for accomodating us since day 1, from our enquiry and showing us venue up until setting up the tables and wedding favours. To Holly for making aure we never ran out of drink. To Tilly for answering our queries and emails, for making sure the booking is smooth and hassle free. And to the whole Megan's crew for making sure we had the best after wedding party. Kudos to the whole team!!

Great food, would recommend the Mezze bowl and the Shakshoumi. Our server Reeha was very helpful and friendly.

Excellent service by very professional and friendly staff. The atmosphere is extremely pleasant, clean and always a very comfortable temperature.Above all is the welcome by staff. Megan’s are truly dog friendly, they provide water bowls treats and dog beds.

This was our first visit to Megan’s (Guildford). The interior decor is very pleasant and the general atmosphere promising. The service, however, was quite slow and although the food I had was tasty, the two fried eggs were overcooked to the point of being leathery and tough to cut. I mentioned this to our waitress who gave the classic ‘get out’ response that she would tell the chef. Whether she did or not we will never know as we received neither an apology nor a reduction in the bill. I am hesitant to repeat this experience, which is such a shame as the menu promised much but delivered little.

Funny experience in the toilets, waited ages, 3 out of 4 seemed to be locked. Otherwise amazing experience! Especially loved our waitress Maisie!

Manager (red dress) could be a bit nicer to her staff, witnessed her being quite rude to our server and it seemed to really bother her. Maybe management should keep that away from shop floor. Staff members who served us were really attentive.

We had such a wonderful time at Megan’s thanks to Jay. Jay went above and beyond to make our evening special, even surprising us with some delicious crisps to try for free. It was such a thoughtful gesture that perfectly complemented the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The ambiance was lovely—inviting and relaxing, creating the perfect setting for a memorable evening. Jay’s friendliness and genuine kindness truly stood out and added a personal touch to our experience. We couldn’t have asked for better service. Highly recommend stopping by!

This was my second visit to Megan's by the Castle i didnt have a reservation but Julia snuck us in to a - we had a great visit, great food and a wonderful server - will come by again

A nice place to eat and drink in the centre of Guildford. I popped in for a coffee and a pain-au-chocolat. Pleasant young staff were very attentive, and the coffee and pastry were nice. Nice decor and ambience. Clean and pleasant washrooms. Not overpriced. I'd go again.

Our waitress, a student, was excellent, as was our first and not our last) lunch out in this charming bistro.

The manager(?) had no desire to accommodate people with allergies. Came here for brunch was made to feel like an annoyance and was told to go eat elsewhere even though I just ordered a simple plate of eggs! I eat out all the time and have never had this experience with a restaurant before, I am well aware there is always a slight risk of cross contamination however there was no willingness to try and accommodate.

Underwhelmed and a staff member who shouldn’t be. We came in as a group of 5 for some evening drinks for the night cap promotion. After a friendly welcome and a brief wait we sat down and waited about 10 minutes for our waitress to serve us. The restaurant was by no means busy and appeared to be about half full. 5 drinks, some tap water and a sharing platter took nearly half an hour to arrive with 3 separate requests for a jug of tap water to arrive. The £13.90 sharing platter arrived first (before seemingly opening a tap to fill a jug could be achieved) and immediately seemed tiny and hugely over priced. Eventually the water arrived with a further wait for the initially ordered drinks. A second round was ordered (in the mean time the house white wine stock had been fully depleted by the 2 glasses we ordered with no alternative offered) and a similar wait followed. In total we could only manage 2 drinks each in 3 hours! During this, we observed a male waiter (the only one) pick his nose with thumb (both nostrils) while stood by the till and also squeeze a spot on his upper arm while stood in the entrance foyer in public view. The female who I imagine is the manager asked if we could do a review - so here it is. She offered free baby Guinness shots in return, however these seem to have been prepared in the dark and with a garden spade as there was no separation in the drink and looked more like muddy water. The atmosphere and decor is the only saving grace really. I wouldn’t have done a review ordinarily - but you did ask!!

We were in Megan’s in Guildford today and we had the best experience and service today of any Megan’s we have been in. Jay was brilliant. The upstairs is really lovely and cosy on a grey,wet, windy November day. Thank you.

Marcel instantly makes this place feel like home when walking in. He was so friendly and genuinely made us feel so welcome! The hospitality is a reason to come here just by itself. Atmosphere is a plus. Drinks are insanely good.

I don’t normally write reviews but I felt it was worth the effort to write one for our visit to Meghans in Guildford. The staff were incredibly friendly, we were served by Preethi and Honor (sorry if I get the spelling wrong). We went for a last minute celebratory birthday breakfast. They were very attentive and helpful with giving advice on the best gluten free options for breakfast for my boyfriend. We had the n’duja turkish eggs, the eggs Benedict (and a complimentary eggs Royal due to a little mix up). It was all absolutely delicious, and to top it all off they also gave my boyfriend a complimentary gluten free brownie to say happy birthday. Not to mention that the decoration of the restaurant is so so nice and cosy. If u want a tasty brunch with a lovely atmosphere and really lovely staff I cannot recommend this place enough. We will certainly be back to try the other nice things on their menu.

I had an amazing dinner at Megan’s! Zhanna provided exceptional service, making the experience even better. The food was outstanding—fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. Highly recommend for a perfect evening!

Megan’s is one of my favourite spots for coffee, brunch and lunch. The atmosphere is delightful, the service is excellent, and everything I’ve tried so far has been absolutely delicious. I highly recommend it!

Arrived for a booking with a large pram, no ramp on the venue so pressed the door bell as the sign said for help up the stairs. No on arrived to help, left after a few mins and went elsewhere. It’s 2024, sort your accessibility issues out

Beautiful in decor but that’s it. Service from staff was with either non-existent or rude. Food brought to the table was wrong & both meals were tasteless & not very pleasant. Would not recommend & would not return.

We always enjoy our experience at Megan's and it's definitely now established as a family weekend favorite! On the last couple of visits we have been served by Phoebe who has taken the experience to the next level. Attentive, knowledgeable, friendly and just a good with children! Megan’s is dependable for an easy breakfast with good service. I am yet to try their evening or lunch options but they do boast free wine for the table in an effort to increase returns which is a lovely gesture. Service has always been nice but when I went before and asked to take a service charge off so I could leave cash instead the waitress seemed sheepish to accept it, so I sincerely hope gratuity does make it to the teams that earned it. Potions are never the biggest but would argue they are appropriate for early morning meals. Overall would recommend!

Sue didn’t make my day. She made my life. We had such a fab birthday and she made it all the more special. 10/10 bottomless brunch. I wish i could come back sooner but bottomless isn’t healthy! Thank you x

Love Megans Guildford great food, amaaaaazing frozen cocktails & lovely decor. We had amazing service on Thursday evening by Julia. We were a big group of 8 and we were well accommodated so thankyou! Reccomend the open kebab, honey halloumi and the fraperol!!

Could have been better. The open lamb doner had such a small portion of meat within it, it was more flatbread and salad. Service was ok but not 100% attentive and stuff was ordered that didn’t appear on the table, but appeared on the bill. 50% food discount offer & I still think it was a bit pricey. Good cocktails though fully deserving of the price. Marmalade Martini is worth a try

Megan’s messe feast on the menu mentioned the pricing was £21for 2 people however we had gotten charged for 2 meals which we had not before hand been told, aside from that the service from Annelise was great!
