We stopped here for some much needed ice cream & it was absolutely delicious with many flavours and choices of cones to pick choose from. With its incredible location on the Thames, it's a wonderful place to sit in the sun and relax. Plus, they sell bags of swan and duck food for all the wildlife bobbing around on the Thames. Really lovely.

This is just a river side cafe, no need to get dressed up, but with outdoor seating when the sun is shining it’s a nice place for lunch, the fish was great, freshly cooked. You can eat here for less than £12 a head. No toilets and no parking, but overall ok.

A brilliant location with outside seating overlooking the river. Great range of ice cream which we enjoyed immensely.

Prices are quite high, and portion sizes are very small. Plastic cutlery provided is poor quality - forks keep snapping. Young lady inside who served me was very pleasant - but the older lady who was clearing tables outside had a look on her face like she’d just been told that her dog had died, and barely even grunted a reply when I attempted an exchange of pleasantries.

The location of this eaterie disguises the quality of the food.We ordered egg and chips. The chips were nearly anaemic and tasted awful. The eggs were served in a lake of cooking oil.I ordered orange juice, which came in a bottle and not glass or cup, full of only artificial ingredients. Would have shared my concerns with the staff, but customer service almost non-existent despite the numbers of staff swirling round inside their building. Spoilt our lunchtime visit to Windsor.

2% of the population have a nut allergy, yet so many ice cream places now no longer do chopped nuts, which means 98% of us miss out on the best accessory an ice cream cone can have.Not Mamma Mias though, they give you nuts and then some!The absolute best whippy style ice creams we have had.

Went for a chicken burger and chips. The chicken burger was small, flavourless and expensive. My partner could not purchase food at the cafe due to specific dietary requirements and brought her own food. A member of staff publicly spoke on the cafe loudspeaker requesting her to not eat the food she brought... twice in front of a full outdoor seating area. Very embarrassing experience and poor customer service. Will not be going back.

Only doing take away at present, but this is still the place to eat if you want a good meal at a reasonable price. Mamma mia cannot be beaten. They are still doing a full menu. The staff are really the friendliest in town. If you have room, then the ice-cream is superb. Always excellent food and service.

Quite possibly the worst ice cream (flake 99) ever tasted. It’s an insult to ice creams. I think they know they taste disgusting but probably making maximum profit.

Went for chips down by the river with my staff and lovely food and lovely staff and good prices. :) RyCal team will go back again happily.

Se detuvo a comprar helados para la familia, pero se dio cuenta, después de que se entregó el primero, sin ni siquiera una cucharada completa, que el precio era exorbitante. Primera visita a Windsor desde hace algún tiempo. Me complace ver que Mamma Mia estaba abierta y ocupada con comidas para llevar y helados. Es bueno ver a una empresa local improvisando durante la pandemia. El personal era, como de costumbre, muy amable y servicial, la comida estaba a su nivel habitual. El restaurante ahora está siendo modificado para hacer frente a las nuevas restricciones. Muy recomendable: la mejor comida y a un precio más razonable en Windsor.

Great food, good value and prime location by the river. Good service, suitable for all ages snd food preferences.

We had eaten here on a number of occasions on visits to the town. The sandwiches are freshly made and the mug of tea just right for a quick stop. We sat outside with a great view of boats on the river. The staff are always very friendly and generally have a smile. Cook food always looks OK if you like chips etc ...

I visit Mamma Mia quite often when visiting Windsor. It is just so good. Friendly staff, excellent food, good location and reasonable prices. This really is the best place in Windsor for a good meal that isn't going to break the bank. PS Great Italian ice cream!

Ordené Bacalao y Chips, y lo que me sirvieron fue menos que comestible. ¿Parecía ser pescado congelado procesado de algún tipo que estaba empanizado y quizás cocinado al microondas? ? No pude cortar el empanado con un cuchillo. Aunque debo decir, las fichas eran casi decentes. Mi esposa pidió un sándwich de pollo que era casi tan malo. No recomendaría su comida a nadie, excepto tal vez a los cisnes que están al frente. .

While walking along the river we stopped here for a meal.Two of us had the fish and chips and one had sausage and chips. The fish was good, chips fine and sausage OK. Reasonable price and good view of the river.

Has to have one of the best pitches in Windsor right on the bank of the Thames. That said their prices are reasonable and it is not cheap tat. Coffee and ices a perfect end to a walk along the river.

Always visit here when in Windsor. The food is excellent quality and the prices and quantity are really good. My last visit was on a cold day and the cafe was not very busy, but you still get a warm welcome. The cafe itself is spotless and the food cannot be faulted. If you want a good reasonably priced meal in Windsor, this is the place.

I often eat here when in Windsor. visited again in December - pretty quiet as only a few tourists about. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The food is excellent, with plenty to choose from. I can't understand the comments about the high prices here - these people have obviously NOT eaten elsewhere in Windsor!! Prices are very reasonable. Location is great - overlooking the river and when the weather is good you can eat outside. Highly recommended.

Almorcé aquí un sábado en noviembre. . . . . Los precios parecen altos, la calidad de la comida es mediocre y el servicio es deficiente. Tenía pescado y patatas fritas y tuve que pedir salsa tártara. Ella me dio un pequeño paquete de tamaño ketchup. Pedimos más. . . . (Teníamos TRES órdenes de pescado y papas fritas) y ella actuó como si estuvieran saliendo de su cheque de pago. Creo que ella me dio un total de TRES paquetes y el último fue completamente a regañadientes. La comida tardó un poco en salir y los locales parecían servirse antes que los turistas. Me gustaría encontrar otro lugar para comer.

Have used this cafe for years as a midway stop on a regular cycle ride. Staff always friendly, coffee and cake well priced, outside seating great for recharging the batteries or just watching the world go by.

Latte tasted horrid and everything looked really expensive. Around £4 for a fried egg in a roll!! You can imagine the cost of other meals! Slushies were £2.10 for a very small cup and chocolate bars were an extortionate £1.10 each!!

Took a table over looking the river for drinks and ice creams. Staff a little dis interested, but then with the turnover of custom they don't need to be anything else.

La comida es básica pero no terrible. Lo mejor es que venden dos bolsas de comida de cisne por una libra y los cisnes se apresuran en un latido para alimentarse. Muy entretenido.

We have always used this cafe on our trips to windsor for years and would not go any were else, the service is good, the food is good and the cost is also reasonable , a really lovely clean place to eat and sit.

visit this lovely cafe whenever I am in Windsor. This time with my 7 year old grand daughter. The cafe is spotlessly clean, the staff are so friendly and helpful and the food is superb. We both had fish and chips (One a child portion that could easily have fed an adult!) The quality was excellent. Great place for ice cream as well. Prices are reasonable. I would recommend this to anybody who visits Windsor and wants a good meal at a reasonable price.

really amazing n out of the world fish n chips available at this small restaurant located right next to the river, we had a great meal after a nice trip on the boat. The meal was wholesome and the food was really yummy. Strongly recommend :)

As well as a great spot for ice cream, Mamma Mia also has a cafe serving some tasty food. It’s a pretty basic cafe menu and good for breakfast. Great view of location. Had breakfast here and we had to wait around 5 minutes for food.

I'm a regular visitor to this cafe, with family and friends. The food is excellent, the prices reasonable and the cfe is kept so clean. The staff are just so friendly and helpful. Heard one customer query their order when it arrived saying they had ordered something extra. I had heard the conversation - they hadn't ordered anything, but the staff did not argue and apologised and it was sorted. I had fish and chips which were superb and would cost double the price here anywhere else in Windsor. The location is also superb. What's not to like?

I have just had one great meal fish and chips fresh cooked with a side salad with a cup of tea all for £9 appx i forget if just over or under outside seating by the river watching people feeding the swans from there hands. the place was clean tables cleared very quick as not to attrect the birds to the tables i will call again when i next visit Winsor thank you df

Good fish and chips in a very pleasant location overlooking the River Thames steps away from the boarding for the river cruise. The food was well cooked and the fish fresh with good service. We sat outside on the wooden benches watching the swans and ducks being fed. Very nice location to enjoy a reasonably priced meal.

The location of the restaurant is the best possible in Windsor, right by the riverside , overlooking the ducks, swans and the beautiful surroundings, around the bridge. We always have the veg burger and chips with curry sauce which are so tasty and fresh. Love to have ice cream too there . Overall, a fantastic place .

We were pleasantly surprised when we stopped at this cafe right beside the river. The outside seating was mainly wooden benches, but they were incredibly clean and so was the ground. There was a large choice of food, including fish and chips, burgers, jacket potatoes, pizza, full English breakfast - and the food was ready incredibly quickly, which you collect yourself from the counter. But don't expect a pot of tea - you get a mug with a tea bag in and are handed a jug of milk at the counter to add some to your tea. Very pleasant, sitting beside the river watching the boats etc and it was reasonable priced too.

Second day in Windsor and we fancied a fish and chips. We were walking on the riverside and saw this little cafe and popped in. I should have known when they served us too quickly. The fish was soggy and greasy and the chips limp and barely warm/ We ate a few bites and then just left.

Right by the riverside where the boat trips start and finish. Friendly enough staff. bought a bottle of chilled water and a snack. Also serves ice creams and fish and chips. Great location and some standard seating outside. Food to go outlet.

Location is great, food is excellent, prices are reasonable and the staff are so friendly. What is there not to like? No the food isn't 5 star but the price and quality is so much better than the other establishments in the town catering for the tourist. Highly recommended.

Went on holiday to Windsor five days ago and had a hankering for fish and chips by the river since arrival. Finally got there on the last day and this little cafe/takeaway did not disappoint. Decent portion of good quality fish and chips. Eating within minutes of arrival and sat next to the river.

Small cafe on the banks of the Thames. Outside veranda overlooking the water. Good sandwiches well priced. Friendly, efficient staff. Busy place but quick service.

Not a lot to say about this cafe really. We visited in a Saturday and Windsor itself was very very busy. The cafe is down by the river near the river boats. It's clean and has an outside area to sit in the good weather. It sells your usual chippy type fast food stuff. The price for a family of 5 was just over £20 so not too bad. The food came quickly and was not to bad. The portions of the chips were a bit small. Good selection of condiments.

My husband and I did a bike ride to Windsor and decided to treat ourselves to an ice cream.... we were not disappointed at all.I chose the mint chocolate chip ice cream cone and my husband chose the fudge brownie with mint chocolate chip.That had to be the best quality ice cream we have had ever!!! I will definitely be returning back to get my sweet tooth fix from here.

This little cafe is right on the waterfront. You can sit outside and watch the narrow boats and small cruisers go past and also see the swans. The cafe serves good food and super ice cream!

After touring Windsor and tooling around Eaton for a bit we walked up on this place. We were STARVING and a plate of fish and chips were just what was needed! We ordered a plate and sat out on the patio by the Thames and enjoyed it all with a bit of malt vinegar.Could have been that the weather was perfect. Could have been that the company was perfect. But the fish and chips hit the spot for sure! Wander down and give them a try!

A lovely location right by the river. It isn't a five star restaurant but the food and service is excellent and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and cheerful even under pressure. The fish and chips are superb and don't leave without sampling the Italian ice crea.

This is a lovely location right on the riverside at Windsor. When I visited it was in the middle of storm 'Doris' so there weren't a lot of customers. Staff are really friendly and the food is good. A good place to stop for a good cheap meal. (You can also buy food for the hundreds of swans nearby!)

We were so very hungry but didn't have time to go to a sit down restaurant before a river cruise on the Thames. We decided on Mamma Mias since they were close and we could eat outside. It's a great location, right next to the river walkway and bridge to Eton. You can watch the many Swans while eating. We ordered and had to go pick it up from the counter. They didn't have tartar sauce in a bottle like all their other condiments so we had to ask for some. It came in a little pack that wasn't easy to open. I don't like doing that...who knows how many people touched the pack before me? Right? The fries were very good and plentiful and the fish was average. The coating was a little to oily for me. But it was priced good.

If the weather is nice, Mamma Mia cafe is great for some fish and chips and to enjoy the view. You can easily find it.

Came here when on a sunny day out in Windsor. The cafe overlooks the river Thames and has both indoor and outdoor setting.Menu is varied and includes fish and chips, burgers, all day breakfasts, sandwiches and plenty of ice cream varieties. A special kids menu is also included. Prices not too bad for Windsor and service was efficient. Great place to pop in for a bit of food whatever the time of day.

It is not the most romantic venue that comes to mind but there is something deeply satisfying, intimate and comforting and may be that is we have decided to go for a Valentine's fish and chips.My boyfriend and I have always enjoyed coming to Windsor at any time of the year and this little caff sits prominently on the river front boldly open all seasons. No wonder that after walking the Long Walk (impressive 2.65miles or 4.65km to and from the copper statue of King George III) in a freezing February day we have welcome the simplicity of a good cup of tea and a hearty portion of fish and chips. After all, nothing says better "I love you" than a nice cup of tea.

the cafe is average but they sell duck feed which is good for a sunny day to feed the ducks when strolling along the side of the river

This is prime tourist trap, there are far better places in town. It is is a good spot by the river so always busy, but you are better off eating elsewhere. The car park next to it is also one of the most expensive in town and the attendants are very sharp so even if you are minute over your stay you stand a good chance of getting clamped

stopped here with my daughter and 6 year old granddaughter for fish and chips after a lovely day out in Windsor.my granddaughter who normally loves fish and chips wasn't eating much and then started to cough and hold her throat and started to cry saying her throat hurt....we made her drink lots of water and on looking at her fish noticed 4 very large (and very sharp) fish bones in her fish (my daughter and I had none) - she had obviously swallowed one. I took the fish bones into the shop and said my granddaughter had swallowed one and showed her what we had found in the fish....she smiled....said it happens...it's ok...!!! not the best customer service...they were not at ALL concerned...I was disgusted.After about 20 minutes, and copious squash, granddaughter said she felt better....thank god.. I dread to think what could have happened... I really do think that the fish should be checked for bones (these were big) as they offer childrens portions of fish and chips and the next child may not be so lucky..

Been coming to this same spot with my family for many years. No better way to spend time in Windsor than buying an ice cream, sitting on the benches outside, and watching the activity on the Thames. Boats, rowers, and swans will all keep you occupied in the summer for a lovely hour or more.

We arrived very late in the evening and the lady was closing up. She seen us looking at cafe, rather hungrily and offered to cook us a take away. The food was good for the price and the service was top class, with great views of the river.Definitely worth a visit

Siamo capitati in questo locale per puro caso, mentre cercavamo un posto per pranzare dopo la visita al castello di Windsor e una passeggiata lungo il Tamigi.Come detto è sulla riva del fiume, quindi offre un bel panorama se volete mangiare all'aperto, all'interno ci sono non piu' di una dozzina di posti a sedere.C'è un tabellone con i prezzi per ogni piatto, noi abbiamo optato naturlamente per fish and chips, scelta azzeccata, in quanto porzione abbondate, pesce non unto e patate ottime.Si entra, si ordina il piatto, ci si siede e poi quando l'odine è pronto il vostro numero di ordine viene chiamato dall'altoparlante. Rapporto qualita/prezzo ottimo.Consigliato

This is a must stop for me whenever I'm in Windsor by the river. It's the ice cream. They have a very delightfully tasting Mr Whippy. I like the traditional cone, but there are several to choose from as well as scooped ice cream too. I have eaten here in the past and that was a nice snack as well. Michelin is is not, but it is worth 5* for what it is. At times it can be very very popular as its right on the river bank and tourists abound, buts it's worth the wait for an ice cream. They also sell bird food for the swans, of which there are a multitude all through the year. I even saw a pair of Egyptian geese and a Shelduck yesterday.

Visited Windsor today for a day out and stopped off for some fish n chips at this eatery. Wonderful friendly service and the food tasted really as it should. super super, will visit again soon......

Definitely go here for all of the above. The hot food service is very fast - when I ordered the lady handed my the plate of food before I could put my change back in my purse.They have a lot of flavours of ice cream (both traditional and 'odd'), and a variety of cones.I wasn't going to have anything to eat originally, but then decided to have a sandwich (they come in small triangle sizes at around £3), and had ham and tomato - big mistake. The ham was grey and just looked massively unappetising. I took one bite and left the rest on the plate.Lovely view of the river though, loads of birds milling around in the water.

vicino al Tamigi troverete questa piccola struttura dove servono anche del gelato e vari piatti caldi. Noi abbiamo mangiato il fish and chips che era molto molto buono... poco unto e un sapore molto delicato. Piatto non scarso. provatelo!
