Great buzz especially for a Monday evening. Possibly the best lamb I've ever had. Our first time and will definitely be back.

Good food, really poor service.

We had a really excellent meal with friends this evening. Food was great, very tasty Turkish wine and at a reasonable price. A lovely evening made better by excellent and attentive service. Recommended.

Great little restaurant in the middle of Newbury. The food is rather flavorful and the staff are lovely. They were so good to me, my wife, and my ten month old son. They doted on him endlessly. The food is well priced as well. Check out this hidden gem.

I had a disappointing experience with friends passing by diner at this restaurant. While the decor was nice and it wasn’t too crowded, the food took a long time to arrive and seemed overpriced for Turkish cuisine. The portions were disappointingly small, and the absence of complimentary bread, a common offering elsewhere, was a letdown. Additionally, the staff, with the exception of one lady, didn’t seem very welcoming to our group of 12. It’s unlikely that I’ll return.

The front of house person was excellent, made us feel very welcome. The food was amazing, the quality of food was superb. The staff were extremely polite and amazing. I traveled the world I stayed at Burj Arab in Dubai and I can tell you this restaurant is 7 Stars 🌟 thank you for a lovely evening.

Terrible I ordered guvec it was too oily and l had hair in my rice even tea is terrible I got nothing good to say about this place I’m sorry about being honest I hope this will help you to improve

The Chicken I've ordered was perfectly cooked, full of flavour and very nicely presented. We were very well taken care of and the staff were accomodating! Already went back since my first visit and will definitely be back again, and again!

Mid week lunch with four generations, everyone loved the food. We had the lunch menu and shared all the plates, so much flavour and beautifully presented. Will definitely be back and highly recommend to anyone wanting a delicious and good value meal. The two year old particularly liked the cheese pide.

first visit to this lovely restaurant last night, many restaurants to choose from in Newbury but thought we'd give this one a try for a change. Wasn't disappointed, food was fantastic, really friendly staff, great service, we shall be back!

Really tasty food and the owner guy was a legend. Spent time making jokes with us and even let us try a shot of watered down Raki for free. Defo worth a visit.

Excellent food. Service brilliant. Restaurant looks and feels good but the only problem is people smoke on the terrace facing the water and it gets into the restaurant, making other diners second hand smokers.

Popped in during a walk - was able to get a table outside where they brought water for the dog. Wine was excellent, food outstanding and good banter from the staff. A marketplace gem, could not recommend more

Who knew that this place exists in Newbury just walking distance from the city centre. I have been having Turkish cuisine for a while, this is one of the best. The atmosphere is great, the staff are amazing and the price is very reasonable. I have been coming to Newbury for years for business. I decided to try a new place and what a pleasant surprise. Food was lovely but service was not great. As usual for Newbury it wasn't busy but the staff didn't appear to be that attentive and decided wiping tables was better than dealing with people eating in there restaurant. Decided to skip dessert and went somewhere else

We went for the hot and cold Mezzi which is a real treat. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable.

We had lunch at Turkuaz today for the first time, been meaning to go for an age. What an experience, service was amazing and personable (thank you Mo). The food was out of this world and served within minutes. We’ll be regulars from now on. They even excused my poor (Northern) pronunciation of the dishes we ordered. If, like us you’ve never been please give them a go.

It is an excellent Turkish dining experience, the food was perfect, service superb and atmosphere and ambiance excellent. The Turkish wines were very nice. Will definitely come back!

Good experience and Newbury needs a restaurant like this. Service was good, only criticism would be that the food and drinks were pricey considering the type of food on offer. All in all a good experience but maybe for special occasions only.

A shining star in Newbury! Where to begin... Best Turkish restaurant and even the best restaurant in Newbury so far, and I am saying that as a Turkish person. The service, the warmth of its owners& hosts, the generous portion of super delicious Turkish food, the baklava, genuine Turkish tea in traditional Turkish glasses, complimentary Turkish delights. Everything in the menu was prepared with great quality, care and love. You can feel it to the maximum. Great selection of Turkish music, so it is a bit of fresh air for visitors from every country if you ask me. Thank you guys, now you are my go to restaurant in Newbury!

I had lamb shish and oh my goodness it was amazing 😍 the lamb was tender the veggies were fresh and the juice was nice and cold (if you like cold ❄️)

Absolutely filled to the brim, to the point it's hurting! So good. I'd heard good reviews about Turkuaz and it being family run but got to experience it for the first time this evening, and will definitely be returning. Lovely food and energetic waiters. The only downside was that I ate too much, and that's all my own fault! Also, 10/10 for the Turkish red wine. I'd never tried Turkish wine before.

Nice lunch break. Would be 5 star on the food, the lamachum and kofte were both very nice, the hummus & starter bread were great, but the bread in both of the mains was hard and the tea is just tea bag in a small cup ... I like my tea 😁

Great food but diabolical service. Food was great and I highly recommend that along with great cocktails. The service was very bad. A party of 11 and it took 2hrs to get the mains. Originally it took 20mins to get drinks, when ordering more drinks some never arrived and had to re ask for them countless times. A few of us had starters which took a long time to come. We asked for a starter to come with our main but it came out with the rest of the starters. He only offered to take it back and "keep it warm". So it would just be sat in the kitchen and not fresh. After 2hrs 3 mains arrived. After 5 mins the rest came out not before asking where the rest of the mains were with the response "I don't know" Everything was very slow and it was a case of having to keep asking for the same things over and over. Maybe we got this place on a bad day but it wasn't overly busy. It's a shame as the service to me ruined a what would be 5* review/meal.

Food is amazing. All the glamorous atmosphere were ruined when employee from this place opened the doors to tarrace overlooking the river and dumped the rubish to the water (!) Never seen anything similar to this. Thats illegal and eco-unfriendly.

The food was excellent, we all had the meat platter and three sides, could not stop eating it was so good, it was quiet when we went which is a shame because this place is good, it needs more people to give it a go!!

We went for an early lunch on Wednesday. It was very quiet but we like that sometimes. The food, olive's and pitta starter, chicken shish main and a pint of efes beer was great.

Went in for a light lunch with friends. All the food was freshly prepared and likely all made in the restaurant certainly the corbra (lentil soup) was excellent and made there. We also had grilled halloumi, chicken wrap, moussaka, salad and borek. Plenty of food for us all. Worth a visit

No joke, the chicken shish was SO good that I found myself asking the waiter how difficult the Turkish language is to learn because I was considering moving to Turkey.

The service was quite slow. Our bread didn't turn up after we told them the dips have been on the table for 15 mins and no bread. Lovely bunch of waitresses and waitress but the kitchen staff need to be improved. The food was good. The price was good. The atmosphere was great. We just think the food service was a let down.

Fantastic food, excellent service and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. It excels by the fact that the food has a homemade flavour, and the house lemonade is absolutely delicious! Starters came very quickly and were delicious. The hummus was absolutely amazing and I was told it's made in house - not from a commercial tub. We were also impressed with the falafels: flavour and texture was perfect! And the baklava... Ah! What a perfect end for the meal. Portions are good and the staff are very friendly and helpful. A place to return many times!

They made a real fuss of our son which he loved, especially when we got plums to eat before his main and a lollipop afterwards. The calamari was really nice, as was the bread and dips which came free with the starter. I really enjoyed my grilled chicken wings as my main.

Came for a birthday lunch with my Dad and son. The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. I really appreciated the attention that was given to us and keeping my son distracted. We will definitely be back

Some of the best and friendliest service I’ve had ever, backed up by absolutely incredible food. Delicious charcoaled meat and stunning freshly made bread. Also catered to a food allergy very well. Cannot recommend enough!

Fantastic food today, highly recommend this restaurant. Went for a few dishes in the starters including sucuk, kalamar with some bread and hummus then ended with the mixed grill dish of karisik izgara. Such a great meal, absolutely stuffed! Thank you, will be returning soon for sure !

An average Turkish meal, service efficient and friendly.

We went there after watching a film at the cinema and although we hadn't booked a table we were made most welcome and enjoyed our meal.

Enjoyed a very good Turkish meal experience. Couldn't go as far as 5 Stars as the printed menus were used and tatty. Other than that, very good!
