Fantastic food, great place. We're both coeliac so the lack of stress on menu was amazing and the best bbq we've had in a long time.

the food was very tasty. the best food I eat from delivery for past 2 years. nothing compare. I believe the lady who delivered was from Fox Inn. She was very polite. She checked to make sure she delivered the correct food to the corect person. they deserve 10 stars out of 5.

SO DELICIOUS! We finally made it down to The Fox Inn to try their new smokehouse menu. My husband had a special pizza with brisket and homemade nacho cheese that was delicious. But what really stole the show were the dirty fries with bbq pulled pork that I ordered. Being Americans in a small British village, we struggle to find BBQ that measures up. The Fox Inn has it in spades! I enjoyed it so much, I didn’t even wait until I was home to submit this review. I am going to tell everyone about how good the new menu is. I can’t wait to come back! Apologies for no pictures because the food was gobbled up fast!

Booked for bank holiday Monday. Had a great bbq meal the platters were excellent. The ribs and Brisket were the stand out items for the mains. The corn on the cob and mac&cheese were excellent sides.

We couldn’t understand why but the place was almost empty on a sunday in the early afternoon. We had sunday roast and were surprised by how good it was. We can recommend it!

My mum and I came for lunch with my 2 little ones, and I could not fault the team. The food was amazing and the team were so kind and helpful, we had an amazing time, thank you!

A vibrant pub at the heart of the village. Various events and pub quizzes. Always 2 or 3 beers on tap, decent pub food and pizzas.

Stopped for Lunch Service Brilliant, Atmosphere non existing, Food Mash too Buttery pie wasn't what it was supposed to have been ,Desserts was supposed to have been hot and was cold very disappointing

Great local pub. All the staff are friendly, they look after the beer really well and over the last couple of years, they have really upped the quality of the food. Update: we have moved away from the area and come back and visit every now and then. Still feels like my local - thank you Jamie and the team :)

Had a lovely lunch with family here today. Very friendly welcome and hearty portions. We had ham, egg & chips, plant burger, and fish & chips. Highly recommended. We were served by Debbie, and had a nice chat with Sean the chef.

Six of us went to the comedy night with food and lot's of drinks. A really good evening in a typically country pub 😀.

Called in for Sunday Lunch. The staff were very pleasant and service was good. Food was rather lacklustre. My wife and I had traditional roasts and our son had a burger. The burger was OK. The roasts were generous, but not freshly cooked that day (packet gravy, frozen veg...)

Very quiet mid afternoon meal, well prepared, piping hot and friendly service. Disappointed that the coffee machine was broken. Nice choice of ales, simple menu but all very tasty. Could do with being a little warmer inside!

Food was good and service, the pub is a bit tired in places but a good atmosphere.

Popped in by chance, hungry, on our way from London to Bristol, just 45 mins before Sunday lunch service ended. To our surprise, we were able to sit and eat straight away, and were impressed by the beautifully home-cooked roast, particularly the generous portion of perfect roast potatoes! My wife didn't even miss out on a roast, despite being dairy- and gluten-free. Will seek out this place again if we're ever anywhere near

Very nice pub to visit very helpful and welcoming

Visited on a recommendation and were not disappointed! The landlord could not have been any more helpful. A member of our party was lost trying to find the pub (it is easy to find!) and he was so helpful with directions and offering to direct the guest himself. When one guest ordered the vegetarian fahitas, the chef came out and checked with the guest if they could eat cheese/sour cream. We all had fahitas, and they were beautifully presented on warm plates and absolutely delicious. The chef and landlord ensured there was enough room to put all the dishes on the table. Absolutely fabulous pub and deserves a 5 star review

A lovely welcome, nice ambience. I had a great rack of ribs. But the menu is a bit lacking in non red meat and burger options. Its a menu you see in too many average pubs. My wife had a pasta (expensive). No specials which limits how often we would visit as she has very few options. A good selection of Beers. And a nice house malbec.

Nice fish and chips. Homemade batter, homemade onion rings too. Shame about frozen chips. Ample portion but enough. Draught beer was flat sadly but was in a rush so didn’t have time to complain to get it sorted.

Food is delicious but hey need to update their website as we booked here for food and a place for children to play and the play area was taken down during COVID.

Stopped here for lunch on the way to the Living Rainforest. Service was amazing and food was delicious. Very friendly and welcoming too.

We took our Aunt for lunch at the Fox Inn and were delighted. On a cold day we warmed by the coal fire and received a warm cheery welcome from the owner. The specials (Curry and Steak & stilton pie) were home made and delicious as were the puddings (fruits of the forest crumble and sticky toffee). We really enjoyed lunch and thanks to all the staff. 5*

Great pub, so welcoming and accommodating and the find was superb!

Lovely ribs but the cookie dough ice cream that was promised with the puds never materialised. If you don't have what's on the menu don't offer it. And if a customer complains, don't ignore the complaint.

Open all day sat. Tables available when we got there at 230pm. Really welcoming team. Amber was lovely serving us. Double fronted fire meant a lovely cosy lunch. Not rushed at all. Food was good, esp sticky toffee pudding and fajitas!!

Met a friend who lives as far from the pub as I do but it was a great half way house! Friendly staff, good choice of food and ample seating outdoors if the weather is good. It's by no means a gastro pub but then it doesn't pretend to be. We were quite happy with our visit.

Found this place by chance. Very friendly staff, and good selection of beers. Stayed for lunch, and went for the minted lamb burger on the special board. Absolutely amazing taste and using a rustic bun made locally down the road. Just give it a visit if you are close.

Fair enough pub grub, with gluten free options... But the "big beer garden" was a patio and was largely closed. So, not great for kids...

A very pleasant lunch time, a quiet mid-week break, great staff & service good choice of real beers, lovely good from the philippino chef, and a different choice of foods for the evening, Asian & pizzas. A different sort of choices than other pubs in the area, we must go back again. Yes been back 2-3 times still a great pit stop in 2022

The first thing you.notice is the cheerfulness of the young lady waitresses. They are most helpful and service is prompt. The menu provides a good choice and something to suit all diets and tastes. It's located just off the Newbury junction on the M4 so makes an ideal meeting point. It pays to book. .

Considerable work has been done since I last visited and the place looks great for it. We had lunch and took advantage of a pizza deal. The pizza was great and the service friendly, definitely going to return

A delightful village to small town local pub. Friendly staff, and a good range of well kept real ales. The layout probably reflects decades of development of the building, offering a selection of different sized spaces that have evolved as the building expanded, from family size through to a large party group. Comfortable outdoor seating that will be glorious in the warmer weather.

Enjoyed very much the food was lovely- nice place to meet up with family (couple from Swindon) there was no rush or pushyness from staff

Stopped late Sunday afternoon on the bikes for a warm up and hot drinks. Lovely welcome from the bar, and no scoffing at how two motorcycle riders were ordering pots of tea instead of whiskeys and a fight! Lovely people, great service. Not too expensive either. Definitely be back.

Excellent lunch with friends. Delicious, tasty food and really good service. My friend and I had the fish pie which was excellent and my husband had chicken and mushroom tagliatelle which he enjoyed very much. My friend’s husband had an excellent fish and chips. Highly recommended.

Great staff, great beer, great food.

We had a family reunion at the Fox Inn on Saturday. A small matter with one dish was quickly rectified and the food overall was great! Lots of outside seating for warmer days and extremely cheerful and friendly staff. It was a convenient half way stop for meeting up from East, West and South, so we won't be going regularly but I do recommend it for a good lunch.
