I recently made a reservation for a large group for my client social night & La Casita delivered in every way possible. The service of drinks & food were on-point alongside the quality; in fact, everyone who attended enjoyed their meals. Furthermore, the setting of the restaurant offers an amazing atmosphere to socialise in &, despite being full when we arrived, was never too noisy or overwhelming. In other words, the restaurant offered a sound backdrop of an environment to socialise in. If you're looking for a nice (tapas) restaurant to enjoy a social night out in Guilford, then La Casita is the one! Thank you guys!

Lovely place for lunch. ~We were warmly welcomed by the friendly and efficient staff. The tapas menu is lengthy and the food delicious. The service is very prompt and the ambience ideal for a very enjoyable lunch.

Marcos was LOVELY, been served by him before and he is such a nice, sweet, person with a beautiful smile and attentive server. Cannot rate him enough. The other female server tonight (sorry didn’t get your name) was so patient with us and gave great service also. Food as usual good, our 1st time veggie friends were happy and loved the place

Wonderful evening at this authentic Spanish restaurant. The waiting staff were lovely and friendly, even complimented me on my Spanish attempts! Beautiful food and there was no rush so we ordered 3 tapas to start with and then a couple more and there was no feeling that they wanted to hurry us. Delicious Rioja too. Highly recommend

Popped in here Saturday for some lunch. Excellent professional friendly service. The food was excellent Tapas plates. Meat / cheese selection very fresh & great taste. Seafood platter . Light tempura batter. White bait / calamari / Octopus/ Squid / Aubergine sticks. Fantastic foods here. In my line of work. I cover 30-50 Hotels/ Restaurants/ Pubs a week. The restaurant itself open plan & very light & airy. I would highly recommend Coming here.

Nice quiet restaurant just off the main street in guildford. We ate on a sunday evening which might be why it was so quiet. Sangria was good, as was the tapas. Some dishes were a little sparse for the price, but overall tasted great. Service was excellent and the staff were attentive. I'd eat here again.

Visited La Casita last Friday with my wife for an evening meal on our wedding anniversary and it was a joy. Great location, warm and friendly staff, and excellent food at very reasonable prices. I often hear people complain that tapas portions are too small so you end up having to order so much it costs a fortune. The portion sizes here are geneous and I thought it was great value for money. Service was swift and friendly and the overall feel was very pleasant, I would highly recommend it and wil definitely be going again in the future. Well done to the team.

We came to Guildford for a day trip from London. This Spanish restaurant is highly recommended by Chinese people and it’s popular on Xiao Hong Shu小紅書. It did not disappoint. We were here on a Monday afternoon for lunch. There were lunch sets. Seafood paella was highly recommended on the Chinese social media. So we ordered a seafood paella £31 🥘 to share, and two tapas £11. The seafood paella was full of seafood, squids, mussels, shrimps and prawns. The rice was cooked with the seafood sauce, it was soft and flavourful. The pork and beef meatballs were served with some very delicious sauce, and the cod fish finger was nicely fried. These dishes were absolutely enough for two people. We left with a happy stomach. It was £46.20 altogether.

Had a lovely evening selecting tapas , 7/8 selection between two of us , lovely red rioja , very good waitress Claudia who looked after us, we will be back !!

Fantastic lunch of tapas. Between two: chorizo in red wine, delicious bacalao (cod) in sauce, papas alioli and excellent garbanzos (chickpeas) with spinach. Really can't recommend highly enough

The staff were polite and nice. Service was fast, and the lady's room was clean. Thank you! BUT, food was extremely poor. Everything we ordered seemed hastily prepared, as if someone just opened supermarket canned food and put it on the plate. I mean if you know how to cook, it's not difficult to realize that there's no chef working in the kitchen—anyone who is 8 years old could have made this.

Disappointed by the quality of the tapas and more over by the price that doesn't match at all what you have been served. Example. Tomato and mozzarella tapas is not even half a tomato and 4 slices of the most basic mozzarella. The artichoke tapas is 3 artichokes cut in small pieces in a plate. The chicken is dry with no flavour. I will not recommend this place.

The fish platter was so good- the fish was lightly seasoned - crispy outside and juicy and tender inside. The prawns were meaty and fresh. The sausages were nicely grilled and tasted right. The garlic prawn was surprisingly good. The zesty lemon was really a kick to the garlic and prawn. The desserts were nice and made the whole dinner experience unforgettable. Thanks for the nice and friendly staffs!

Came here for wedding anniversary dinner & enjoyed a thoroughly lovely meal… Very tasty food with plenty to choose from for all tastes, also friendly service by both waitresses working hard that night. The menu suggests 2-3 tapas dishes per person, for the 2 of us we ordered 6 dishes & we’re totally full at the end. Desserts were also very nice. Good value for tasty food in a nice setting with friendly service. Definitely recommend.

Amazing food even better service

It was ok!. We've visited here many times, but feel the quality has started to slip. The albondigas sauce was thin and lacked the flavour one would expect in Spain, same goes for the bravas sauce. The gambas pil pil was also lacking in real garlic and chilli flavours. Different chef maybe?

Very canteen style decor as opposed to a restaurant, but still chilled and great service from all of the staff. Food was "fine". Pallella felt lackluster considering the boast of a family business. Missing a crisp base and actually quite a small portion for the price. Flavour was ok but seriously bounced by quite a lot of Salt. We had some good Tapas, chorizo and red wine was good, whitebait was a little overpriced and under delivered, chicken livers fine, potatas braveas lacked enthusiam. Wine was actually good and felt like very good value for money. All in all, totally good place to go for dinner, but don't expect to be blown away.

Excellent food and service! We had the patatas bravas, vegetable croquettas, mixed vegetables and a few other dishes - all really tasty! Finished off with a dulche de leche and it was as good as the description on the menu promised... We'll be back when in Guildford!

Explicitly told them I had a dairy allergy and only ordered what they told me they could make without dairy (I was happy to avoid those dishes but they said they could make them dairy-free for me). I even checked with the waitress if they would contaminate the food by making it in the same pans as they had used for dairy and was told no, they would use separate dishes. Despite that, I came away with a severe reaction which means there was (at least) butter in the food. Additionally I was told that their menu states clearly which dishes contain dairy. I found at least one dish that explicitly listed blue cheese as an ingredient and was not marked as containing dairy. When I pointed this out to the waitress, she said that was because the dish was new. She also said the Spanish Black Pudding contained dairy but the menu did not indicate this. So - one cannot rely on the menu for guidance and, it seems, that even asking for dairy-free food is totally unreliable. My husband, who doesn’t have any food allergies, had an upset stomach the next day which suggests that some food was off. Aside from that, the lomo (beef) was very fatty and unrefined, the red pepper dip for the croquettes was tasteless, patatas bravas was acceptable but not great, but the croquettes were good, the mussels in tomato sauce were tasty as was the goats cheese on toast and the chorizo in red wine sauce. This was our first visit. It will be our last.

Looking for tapas, we shared 7 dishes. All were very well done: fresh ingredients, well cooked. Staff friendly and attentive. Friday evening, so very buzzy. All hard surfaces makes the room noisy then.

First time visit just to try somewhere different and it was a positive experience. Warm welcome, friendly and efficient service, drinks & menu items were all reasonably priced. The food was nice but it does reflect the price point. Some items were really good (bread with goats cheese & honey, meatballs, jamon cold platter) - others not so much (fried seafood platter - it was a no thrills exactly what it said in the tin type thing so we didn't complain). The desserts were the best we've had in a while - and the coffee too. Would definitely go back for a nice relaxed meal when out in Guildford again.

We were for a short visit in Guildford and stumbled upon La Casita, a tapas restaurant in a smaller cosy street. The place is bustling, the staff is very friendly and the tapas are very tasty. Three came from the specials menu and were lovely. The other two came from the normal menu and were not bad either. A very nice place for a great dinner, be it small or bigger.

Being Spanish, it was a great surprise finding a place where I could really taste the same products and flavors that I'm used to, which is not usual being abroad. I was there on Tuesday so the place was not very busy, but I could still enjoy some people chattering and laughing like if I was at home. The service of Claudia and Aurora made the evening even better. It is greatly recommended if you want a little bit of the taste of Spain in Guilford!

Went for my wife's birthday a couple of days ago. We were a large party with a few allergies, some of which aren't recognised, that we had informed them about beforehand. This usually causes a few issues with restaurants, however when we turned up the staff handed us personalised menus for the allergies and cooked all our food fresh. This meant it took a little while to get our food, however I can't complain as it was cooked fresh and tasted fantastic - the service was also fantastic.

My friend and I visited here for a pre Christmas get together. The food was delicious and the sangria too. Really authentic with a nice atmosphere. Half of our tapas dishes had been forgotten however it was quickly resolved when we spoke to the staff. Reasonably priced too. Thank you

My second time dining here - a real hidden gem! Great service & fantastic food! I'm yet to try the dessert menu, so it's definitely an excuse to come back! It's also worth noting that the restaurant is kept spotless, bathroom included - a rarity these days! Thanks, til the next time.

The food was incredibly filling and a huge range of tapas options!!! The staff were all lovely and went above and beyond for us - even overhearing that it was my birthday they brought out a scoop of vanilla icecream decorated with a Berry compote and candle! We hadn't asked for it! Aurora was absolutely lovely and made us feel incredibly relaxed and satisfied. Thank you all!!!

Decent location in a popular restaurant location of Guildford Decor inside was OK, fairly basic - no thrills It was a quiet Sunday evening, but I feel the service we received tonight is how it usually is - due to the nature of both the ladies on shift Friendly, helpful and extremely efficient Food wise - a good selection of tapas on the menu Reasonably price for the portion size The tapas that we had was decent - especially the Lubina (fish dish) The paella’s (meat and seafood) were of good size - we couldn’t finish and had to take away Sadly, we still struggle to find a truly authentic paella in the UK Where’s the crunchy rice that you need to scrape off the bottom of the pan? Why isn’t the meat/seafood fully infused into the rice itself Flavours are lost and can’t be compensated with an overuse of salt I read someone else’s review that they accused the paella of coming from Costco and simply reheated - I get that, a bit harsh, but I see where they’re coming from If I were to return here, I would have tapas only and hope we have the same two waitresses working

Fantastic place to have dinner in Guildford. The food is really excellent! We had the meat paella which was very good, and shared between two it was more than enough food. The service is quick, friendly and overall very efficient. The value for money is also high, with dishes not being too expensive given the portion size you receive. I'd definitely go back again!

It can get extremely loud on busy nights. Usually I go when it’s quieter but hadn’t been on a Saturday night before and we had to shout between 3 of us on the same table — please invest in sound dampening/noise reduction.

La Casita is a really lovely airy restaurant on a quiet side street in Guildford. Four of us had two tapas each and a paella to share, which was the right amount for a not-too-heavy lunch. The croquetas were a highlight, also the chorizo with balsamic and rocket, & the albondigas. The paella was very good too, arriving after we had finished our tapas (the menu warns that this needs 25 mins to prepare). We also enjoyed churros with chocolate sauce & totally delicious dulce de leche ice cream balls wrapped in cookie dough. Coffee was good. Service was friendly and efficient - would definitely return for lunch or dinner.

What a little gem this restaurant is. Unassuming and looking functional on the inside, the menu is varied with a full range of hot, cold, meat and vegetarian taps and good prices, and the busy staff were excellent. Attentive and knowledgeable, as well as friendly! Thoroughly recommend.

The service, food and ambiance was all top notch. We had various tapas, of course, and the baked fish casserole, which was very good.

Really average food. Didn’t taste like quality ingredients. Bland croquetas, too much salt in the chard and potatoes and the meatballs came in a pale orange sauce and the meat was processed and plastic.

Food very disappointing, sure the Paella was from a frozen packet. Definitely wouldn’t return, service also slow and cold.

The food was so basic, service poor. Paella took 15 mins and tasted frozen from Costco. Will not return. Waste of money. You’ve got to up standards of food when paying a lot of money to eat out. This was honestly frozen food and not worth the money.

Food is good and the staff very friendly and helpful. The back of the restaurant can be very echoing, so is quite loud.

Delicious food, we enjoyed the seafood paella and a few tapas dishes. Choices for drinks and desserts are also good. We didn't book but the place was busy on a Tuesday night. We were able to be seated but bigger groups might not have been able to get in. There were a few familys/large groups who had obviously reserved a table so best make a reservation in advance to avoid disappointment.

Three of us went for dinner, we spent £50 each in total including the service charge but we ordered a lot. I think you really get your money's worth here. Drinks, we split a jug of sangria and we had a pint of lager each. Food, mixed paella, Bilbao sausage, chorizo in wine, 4 wedge of tortilla, garlic and lime prawns, croquettes, garlic mushrooms, bean stew, bread with a chopped tomato herb topping, pardon peppers as well. It all arrived pretty quickly, our servers were attentive and friendly. The quality of the food was very good indeed and I would go back and recommend this spot to friends. You have to book, don't expect to get drop ins for an evening sitting.

At the time I am writing this, this restaurant is rated as 4.5/5 - far too high in my opinion but having lived in Spain for over 2 years, Spanish restaurants in the UK often just disappoint. If you order tapas from a local place in Spain, you will get a portion designed for sharing as that is what tapas is for. Typically for over here, in La Casita, if you order a portion of croquetas, you get a portion of just 4 for £8.50. They were nice enough but overpriced. The Serrano ham was also pretty disappointing. Overall, if you have an urge for some Spanish food, it’s all generally decent enough but nothing to write to home about.

Really disappointed. Came hoping for some lovely tapas now that the weather is warming up. The portions were very small, and each tapas added up to quite a large amount of money in the end. The patatas aioli honestly felt like it had just been heated up from the freezer, I could make better at home. Surprised with the amount of good reviews the restaurant has. Definitely will not be returning.
