8.5/10 burger, this place is up there with the best now. Came in this afternoon for early dinner as a second try and glad we did as the first time we came was good, but not great. This time was excellent. 👌

Delicious burger and fries for £15 is pretty much standard these days. Only real shame is that it took 20+ minutes for 2 meals to be ready. I saw 3 Deliveroo drivers come in and out, these same to take priority which is a shame when opting to eat in. I did like the burger but might think twice about coming back when having to wait almost 30 minutes for it.

Strolled in this place whimsically on a rather torrid day, I for sure didn’t anticipate that I’d discover the best burger I’ve had in Britain and for years, on such a random occasion. I ordered a double ‘boring’ burger & and American fries, along with a refillable soda. When the food was ready, I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion of it: I’ve seen restaurants in London-which is just 40 mins away by train-charging the same price, if not higher, for burgers half the size. As for the fries, aside from being incredible crispy, they came in literally in a truckload, showered in house-made sauce and covered by a think layer of flavourful and umami-packed toppings. I am not a believer of taking snapshot of dishes before tasting them- in an age redolent of delicate social media posts, one came to know that what might be photogenic, is rarely as delicious. Thus, I always take a bite of my food first, before I take a photo-if at all, as most of the time the dishes would taste too forgetful and uninteresting to worth the trouble. I don’t have a photo this time- it’s certainly not because the food tasted inadequate in any way, but because I simply didn’t have the chance to do so. Yes, it’s that good. The patties were flavourful, juicy, and well-seasoned, but in my opinion, an ideal burger should be assembled like an orchestra- which is to say, whilst the beef is of course the star and key to a good burger, its quality can still be massively augmented if it is complemented well by the rest of the components. In this case, I have to say what I tasted was exactly that, a concert of flavour, texture, and fragrance, designed and performed flawlessly. The ‘boring’ burger I tasted was classical in its components- an all-American combo. However, every detail was worked to a high standard, from the acidic refreshment of pickles to the nicely- rendered bacon, and the American cheese- which in my view, melts and tastes better than any fancy cheeses in a burger, especially a smashed one. However, it was the bread that was the most surprising, and the fundamental drive for me to decide on the endeavour to write such a long review. It was simply magical. The bun was flavourful and nicely-toasted, yet not greasy or overly sweet, and despite the drippings from the patties, the bun held itself well structurally, and did not turn soggy at all- which made me suspect that it was a pretzel bun. But when I bit into it, the bun was so soft and airy in texture, that I felt it almost vaporised in my mouth- definitely not a typical trait of pretzel buns. I had little chance to investigate it further, as the entire burger disappeared, before I could even pull mu focus back from the gastronomic surprise I experienced. In fact, I was in such a pleasant shock, that I almost felt obliged to pay my compliments to the chef. I didn’t regret this choice, as the great myth regarding this amazing bread readily solved itself, when I talked to the chef, Jamie. Apart from being incredibly genuine and hospitable, the knowledge, dedication, and passion Jamie has for his craft is simply inspirational. Even just on the seemingly simple topic of burger buns, he is incredibly knowledgeable and meticulous about every aspect of it, from the choice, place of origin, and fineness of the flour, to the hydration, proofing, and butter content of the dough. It was then that I learned they even made their mayo in house. No wonder the burger they served was so good, when it was made by a literal artisan. I will of course be coming back, and next time I shall try the other items on the menu, that all sounds highly innovative and interesting according to their descriptions. Until then, I shall await that moment cheerfully, with a very high expectation.

I ordered the chicken burger and the chicken itself was burnt unfortunately! I wasn’t even able to eat it there was a burn taste. I tried the plain burger but it was fine, more flavour needed!

After seeing a video on Social Media, my husband and I were eager to taste some 'boring burgers'! We walked in and was about to order via the touch screens but, we really appreciated a staff member offering to take our order over the counter (customer service is rare with so much technology). He was polite, friendly and funny. Once our burgers arrived we were not dissapointed by the look and once we started to eat, the taste was great too. We ordered the 'boring fries' and unfortunately, we were dissapointed they weren't actually boring. The chips have salt, rosemary and garlic oil on them and the rosemary is pretty strong so standard salted chips would have been appreciated more. The portion of the chips however was really generous! As for the milkshakes - delicious! Full of creaminess and great authentic flavour.

Decent price, £35 for 2 chicken burgers and katsu chips to share, 2 refill drinks. I liked the idea of the refill drinks, I felt like I received good value for money. The katsu chips were super yummy, large portion, was a good amount to share. The burger was amazing, we tried the chicken burger, they told my partner that it was being trialled, I would love for it to stay on the menu! Would come back again

Tried Boring Burger for the first time and went with the signature namesake beef burger, with an extra patty + American fries. Was very impressed with the welcome from the guys working there. The ingredients used are locally sourced and good quality, all making for a very tasty meal. It was up there getting close to the legendary Beefy Boys in Hereford. I can thoroughly recommend, and guessing probably the best burger in Guildford?! I'll definitely be back for more. 😃

Service was terrible. Burger was good. Very unprofessional atmosphere - hand in pants, no hair nets, labels suggested ingridients were off (I'm sure they just didn't update labels), touching bins then drinks, baggy trousers so could see their pants on the two guys. Waited 10mins to be acknowledged/take order, no apology either. Waiting time was 30mins, we were there after 30mins about 2 meters from the counter with our receipt but nobody called out anything, after another 15mins we finally spoke to them and our order had been waiting on the side. The cherry on top was them making fun of gluten free people and how they 'couldn't be bothered to do gluten free anymore' and treated it as a joke. I had earlier asked for a gluten free bun...it was literally the reason we chose them as it is advertised online and their in store menu they offer that but when we went they didn't have any...which was fine, it happens they can run out and then I am used to it... Let my husband have the bun and I just eat it with no bun (I'm intollerent not celiac so I can do that). I had therefore asked for a normal one instead when they said they didn't have any. I was right behind them when they made fun of the 'gluten free customer that just had a normal one'....I don't think they realise the consequences that intollerrnt still means 3 days of pain from the gluten and sometimes I might make that choice...i wouldn't have to if they had one and I wouldn't have gone there if they didn't advertise it but to be made fun of and to mock people with allergies and intollerences when working with food is totally unacceptable. Definitely not an atmosphere of pride and excellence in their product...more focused on easy money so I definitely wouldn't want to support them again despite the burgers being really good.

The boring burger isn't actually boring, infact it is very far from it. Burger was smashed to perfection and that bacon..... and to told it off was the seeded brioche bun. Messy and tasty. I had to go home and sleep it off after 😋

We came here after finding these guys on deliveroo and sooo glad we did! There is no doubt how hard the guys here work to provide such quality food yet friendly service. As soon as you go in you can tell it's not a chain but a independent business. Seeing the manager of the restraurant working alongside his team during a busy Friday night goes such a long way. There is no doubt we will be spending our time and money here again for our next date night! Forget the wait time at nandos and see the boring burger guys instead!

Ordered a burger at 18:20 in pews still no burger at 20:40 we got a refund however very disappointed at the service and how the situation was handled. Shame.

Chaotic... The burger itself was pretty good - comparable to a Five Guys (yes, I know they put a lot more care into these ones) but it was on the salty side. Problem is with the operation itself. Simple order took over 30 minutes to arrive, and there appeared to be no or minimal system in place, and so attention to detail beyond the cooking looked forgotten. Mix of staff in uniform or not, some in aprons, some not ; and the cleanliness needs some focus A good concept that needs an experienced operations overhaul

Obviously the burgers are great, but no one seems to be talking about how unreal their brownies are!!!!! I had the biscoff one and it was better than anything I’ve had from a bakery in Guildford. A bit embarrassing on their part if you ask me 😂. Very happy customer 10/10

I saw the Boring burger featured on instagram with @eatingwithtod. I had just picked up some friends visiting from South Africa so one the way home, i decided we had to try.. The burgers were big and FULL of flavour. It nearly beat me ill admit.. The boring fries were also nice and Crispy and full of flavour with rosemary. We all loved it. There are 2 tables outside, a few inside and a counter,so you may not always get a seat. We were lucky to tuck ourselves inside. The owner was great, the staff friendly and food really, really tasty. Glad i found it..

We popped in to have a boring burger yesterday evening and have discovered the best burger in town. So far from ' boring'! Homemade sauces to die for, delicious brioche buns, tender, juicy burger and such a lovely balance of flavour. Chips are homemade and delicious, and so much thought has gone into the whole concept. A small menu...but one we will definitely be back to explore!!!!

Life changing burger! Highly recommend! Owner was very friendly and welcoming. Whilst my daughter and I were the only ones in, the atmosphere was nice as the kitchen is open and the location is excellent.

Waited 47 minutes for 2 burgers lol the large woman at the front in the pub has horrible work ethic and added an extra 15 min to our wait because she didnt tell the kitchen our order was takeaway lol burgers were great tho.

Yet to eat in but have had 3 deliveries from here and the food is incredible. Love the packaging! Keeps the food looking how the pictures look . Tried the mac and cheese bites they are insane dipped in the gravy ! Katsu fries are also amazing and my beef brisket burger urgh ! Great little burger restaurant in a quirky pub right in the town centre. Stopped in for a bite to eat before going to the theatre. Was able to order very quickly online whilst in the restaurant, small menu but excellent quality food, very tasty and didn’t have to wait long. Had the katsu fries with a lovely sauce and slaw and the brisket burger. The pub is great too with interesting decor and a large raised seating area to the rear. They had the football on and had a good atmosphere.

Pretty decent burgers, only gripe is they could do with better signage. As we were initially confused when walked into a pub of a different name. Ordering is via an app, although didn’t see options for drinks on the site other than with the combo deal. Pub music was good. Fries were nicely seasoned.

AVOID!!! I have been a delivery driver in Guildford for 2 years, working every weekend (alongside studying at university in the week) I am paid a commission per order, this commission differs depending on many different factors. I get paid more per order when it is busy. With this in mind, I went to collect an order from The Boring Burger that wasn’t paying me all that well, during a very busy time. I knew if I rejected the order I’d get a better paid one immediately, but I did it anyway. I arrived and no one made any eye contact with me or acknowledged me in any way. I waited 6 minutes before rejecting the order. When I did so, I was yelled at by the chef telling me not to ever come back if I can’t even wait a few minutes. I wasn’t to know the order was soon gonna be ready as no one communicated with me and knowing it was busy, I rejected it. Like I said, I am self employed and paid by commission, it isn’t affecting their pay when the order takes a long time, it affects mine. I now always reject orders I receive from them as I know I’d be refused the order if I accepted one. I emailed The Boring Burger telling them all of this and was ignored. Clearly don’t care about people who work with them to deliver their food, and by extension customers who order food from them online. Very disappointing. Never had any issue like this with any other restaurant.

I would give 6 starts if I could. Ordered for delivery expecting it to be just a burger with some chips but man this is a different level. Their Signature burger is amazing. Toasted Buns, crispy Bacon perfectly cooked patties and perfect amount of cheese. Also had their Katsu fries and I got to say I didnt know you could get this much flavour from chips without some heavy sauce. Amazing food, highly recommended!!! Trying the Brisket Burger next

I heard good things about Boring burger so thought Id see for myself. The Brisket burger was amazing as well as the American fries and Biscoff brownie. This is, with out doubt the best burger in Surrey and maybe even the UK 🇬🇧

If you are looking for unusual burger, the boring burger is the place for your tummy! It’s says it’s a handmade and uses fresh ingredients, I so was intrigue to try. I’m bored of the usual ketchup mayo thing. I have ordered a bored of brisket meal with American fries and an old Jamaica grapes soda, yes they have this drink! The burger is phenomenal! The taste and texture of the pulled brisket on top of the juicy beef patty was soooo good! The chipotle ketchup goes well with the brisket burger. I’ve never tasted anything like this before, the flavours are extremely tasty. Good value for money too. The best America fries I’ve ever tasted in my life so far! The flavours gives you appetite to eat. Perfect combination! Don’t forget to try biscoff and Oreo Brownies! No comment! As a sweet tooth person I rate this brownies 10/10. The texture of the brownies is amazing! It’s not like a cake brownie it’s more likely like a mouse chocolate brownie kinda thing. Make sure you warm the brownies as the chef said. Was really addictive. The portion is perfect size too not too small. Don’t judge but I bought a take away boring burger and katsu fries home for my dinner, and it didn’t let me down. The boring burger is crazy addictive too! The sauce I think it’s called dirty sauce was so good too. The katsu fries omg! It’s a perfect katsu sauce on a fries! Having a slaw on top is crazy combination so tasty! Thumbs up to the owner and chefs who’s cooking this unique burgers. It’s impressive. It’s a shame it’s only in Guildford but would definitely come back. The Pews bar is cool to visit too. You never thought there’s courtyard in the back from the entrance. Would definitely recommend to family and friends! Can’t wait for my next visit!

As a burger passionate i find that all sauces taste the same except from mustard all I could taste is Cajun, patties are super thin and dry, a nice burger patty has a crust on top and juicy from the inside the one’s we had were basically a burent paper thin patty, buns were nice with a squashed turtle shape ( not sure if it’s a turtle burger promotion ) I would recommend it there’s much better in town.

Jamie, the founder, cooked me my burger while I chatted to him for a few minutes. If there is someone who knows how to make the perfect burger, it’s Jamie. Everything is made in house, from the bread to the gherkins. The art of the burger is something Jamie knows as well as any chef. My burger wears close to perfection. Unfortunately, it was so good, I ate it rather quickly. There are probably better burgers somewhere in the world …. probably.

This is the BEST burger place I’ve ever been too! They are so inclusive of my allergies, making sure to listen both of the times I’ve ordered. Once on the phone and then once on Uber eats. Wow, wow, wow!! I can honestly say, I usually am not the biggest burger fan, but decided to give this a go one day. OH MY GOODNESS it is honestly the most delicious chicken burger I’ve ever eaten. It’s so fresh and crispy, the bun is so fresh and soft, the sauce and cheese is out of this world and then the chips! Don’t get my started on the chips!! The perfect amount of salt and rosemary. I think I need a loyalty card at this place because I’ve ordered 4 burgers from this place in the past 2 weeks. Each time they get better and better. It’s my favourite take away in the country not just Guildford! Give it a go and you won’t be disappointed 😍

Amazing! Got in on UberEats and it did not disappoint. We love Five Guys and GBK but this definitely has earned it’s place with the big players. We got the Boring Burger - it was anything other than boring. Sauce is delicious, chips were top tier! Would highly recommend!

Extraordinary burger. Any burger lovers - must visit. Inside a pub with lots of seating (inside and out). Only about 4/5 burgers on the menu but they are done so damn well. Not normally a lover of chips but this here were just so damn good. The katsu. I fry sauce was out of this world. Highly recommend

For some places there should be a sixth star available.... Do not pass by and not go and sample what they have on offer. Stunning burger and rosemary fries, one of the best burgers I have had so far, double patty with bacon and all the trimmings, go and try it for yourself you will not be disappointed!!! Visited this establishment for the second time recently. Their burgers are the best outside of london and to be fair the best including london. The owner Jamie takes a pride in his patties. I had the privilege of visiting his kitchen and watching him smash them. He told me by forming them like this they crack at the edges allowing them to be succulent on the inside yet crisp on the outside. His variations of fries are as good as his burgers. Well worth a visit. In fact a must. Only next time I go I will make sure Manchester United are not playing Barcelona…..

Absolutely knockout food, every single bite was amazing, I actually didn’t want it to end! All top quality food and the gravy, oh that luscious gravy was sensational. I’ve eaten a lot of burger and this was right up there with the best of them! Whoever gave it 1 star needs their brain and tastebuds tested.
