Zaitouna Express in Guildford

Wow. I have not enjoyed food as much I did at this place in a long time. Every single thing I ordered was 10/10. I wish my stomach was an endless pit so I could eat the whole menu. They have a great variation of meat and vegetarian options. I especially enjoyed their spicy potato and the falafel and halloumi wrap which was seasoned so nicely and not dry. Their portions are also huge and ingredients are fresh so you definitely get your moneys worth. I need to try their deserts next time, they look amazing, but I was too full hahaha. The staff are very accommodating and helpful and if you are unsure of what to get or what things mean they are more than happy to help. The two lady waitresses had impeccable service and I was lucky enough to meet the owner and he was very professional and friendly. He should be very proud of this amazing restaurant. The interior was also very beautiful I love all of the gold and the music created an amazing ambiance. It is lovely to experience other cultures especially in a place like Guildford where things tend to be all the same.

The food is always delicious from this place. However, when buying a takeaway, make sure you check that your order is correct before you leave the Resturant. I recently had some food missing from my order today - ordered a mixed grill but some of the meat was missing. When I tried to take it back so they could correct it, I was treated like I was lying about this.

One of the best Lebanese I have had in a long time

We had a lovely meal, and all left feeling as though the meal that we had each ordered was the best. Wins all around!

We all loved our meal this evening- the grilled halloumi is sublime and there is a simplicity to all their dishes. The hummus is delicious and my lamb moussaka was a delight from first bite to last. Great, honest cooking. Thanks Nagi for looking after us 🙂

Zaitouna has quickly become our favourite takeaway. The food is absolutely delicious, and beautifully cooked every time. My wife has coeliac disease, so it can be very difficult to find places to order from, but Zaitouna has loads of options, well labelled. Definitely give it a try if you haven't already!

Certainly an experience. The portions are very generous, the food tastes amazing and service is good but the layout, particularly upstairs, is a bit weird. The mixed grill was very nice!

I came here last year to try the food and it was absolutely amazing , I come here all the time now and would recommend it to anyone ! The fresh juices are great and the meat is fresh. The waitress Paiman is really kind and made me feel very welcome everytime I come here !

Wonderful food! The hummus is the best I've ever eaten in my life! Falafel is also very tasty, as are the lamb kofta and the pastries served at the entrance. It's very worth it

Been served by the kind waitress (Peyman), she was very polite and fully understood the request, I ordered the mixed grill dish and it was absolutely amazing , very nice treatment . It wasn’t my first time visit at this restaurant and I’ve seen couple of times the old man that serves the customers can get quite rude sometimes, which making me feel uncomfortable, like few days ago I was in the queue to get serve and he missed me and went to Serve the family behind me which made me upset. In overall very recommended restaurant to have a lovely meal

This was my second time visiting this place. The first time i had their shawarma chicken with rice, even then the chicken was bit raw and red. Today, had their mixed grill and lamb came undercooked. We sent it back and they cooked it again for us. The server was nice but they really need to improve the food and its taste.

I went there for my wife’s birthday dinner today thinking it is going to be special! But the food was utterly disgusting. We ordered their special for 2 deal, the starters were fine but the mixed grill was raw and no taste at all. The lamb was undercooked and upon cutting it in my plate, blood came out. Never going back there!!!!!

I love the food here and the staffs are really nice. I always get takeaways and some times dine in. Naji always treats me well and does a great customer service. I love the freshness of the food and it’s delicious. The rate is also really affordable and the food is worth the money spend. I highly recommend this place for all Middle East food lovers and also to any people to try out if you haven’t! 😊👍🏻

Bread was mouldy and witnessed olives being taken from the table and put back into jar after we paid the bill.

Firstly, the food (hommos shawarma) I tasted were beautifully presented and a top-notch taste with the bread they provide. I loved the mixed shawarma meal, the filling and the taste were worth every penny. From starters to deserts, every dish was served at the right time. The fresh Lebanese Lemonade was also very refreshing. The restaurant has a cozy, Arabic music in the background, neatly presented so it was comforting for my friends and I to have a good chat session with the food. Also, kudos to the staffs for being friendly and considerate of my special requests.I would highly recommend to have a visit and enjoy the food here.

The service provided was top notch. The shawarma was tasty and the atmosphere was mediocre. We did get on the house Lebanese sweets..

We had an amazing time at Zaitouna Express, the staff were so friendly and lovely and the food was amazing. We got hoummos awarma and the grilled halloumi cheese salad (pictured) and the mixed grill and grilled king prawns. I would recommend them all, especially loved the lamb. we will be coming back soon !

The owner was so lovely and hospitable! Food was so full of flavour (the red sauce they brought with the garlic sauce and olives was UNREAL! Need to find out what it is!) Garlic shawarma wrap was gorgeous! Mix juice was so fresh and refreshing. The shisha was a lovely addition to enjoy. Fab place! Will be back!

I used to visit zaitouna as soon as it was open it was really good quality however with time the quality has reduced a lot and the shawarma is not the same it is now dry and the meat put in very small amount and it’s not worth the money that is been paid for . There also is a older bald guy who charged me more than the price on the menu

What a lovely little place, staff are very welcoming. Great authentic food, at a great price. Lovely fruit juices made with fresh fruit in restaurant. We all had the shawarma, fries and drink deal, what a bargain! Lovely sauces came with it, enhancing our experience! Finally for dessert we ordered a lebanese style cheese cake that had actual melted cheese in it, not what we expected, but still delicious 😋.

I’ve been to a few Lebanese before. I just get wowed when I come here, I’ve never tasted Lebanese food like this, zingy and fresh, so good. Try the Lebanese lemonade OMG.

Unfortunately, a hit and miss. Especially during busy hours you can expect not to expect much.

Popped in here as always wanted to try Lebanese food. Thoroughly enjoyed what we selected, beautifully cooked, generous helpings and service excellent. Only disappointment for me was lack of chicken on menu as I'm not a fan of lamb but would try the prawns on our next visit.

What a lovely friendly place with great service from Nagi and amazing food! Great value for money we even took doggy bags home as we couldn’t eat it all! Highly recommend for everything from snacks to full blow outs! We’ll be back for sure.

This place was unexpectedly amazing. We had Christmas dinner and Lebanese was a new try for us. The meal was delicious and the staffs were friendly. It was the chef’s birthday and they even shared some cakes with us.

Fast food/approximately 20 seat restaurant. Early dinner whilst shopping in Guildford 29th Dec. Excellent authentic food. Great selection. Polite friendly staff. Very reasonable. Chicken livers delicious. All 4 of us very satisfied with our meal choices. Highly recommended.

Just popped in for a quick bite. All outstanding and everything was freshly cooked. I come to Guildford regularly but have not found Zaitouna before. Extremely remiss of me. The prices represent outstanding value for money. A single £ would be more appropriate on the Tripadvisor website, we will be back.

We went on a weekday late evening. It is one of two middle Eastern restaurant in a 500 metre range. We had passed by this restaurant very many times, and it always looked appealing from outside. This time we had the opportunity to try it out. The restaurant is a small one, typical of any high street eatery. We ordered a mixed grill and mixed shawarma. The mixed grill came with a special spicy sauce that elevated the grill. It had quite a few ingredients that made the sauce stand out. The mixed shawarma was equally flavourful... Possibly the best shawarma in Guildford. The quantity was of the shawarma was short of filling, while the mixed grill is something that more than one person can eat. To round it off, we ordered Knafe or kunaffa. It is cheesy cake generally topped with vermicelli and sugar syrup. Though the vermicelli was not there for the Knafe, it didn't take away anything from it, and it was totally worth it. I would like to see beef also in there menu... Nevertheless it is a place where one can go for another visit.

The restaurant was not very warm, it was actually quite cold. We ordered a gourmet for four, the starters were fine but the main course was very disappointing, the platter was very small, there was barely enough for two people, never mind four. We spent quite a lot of money and expected better.

Had a lovely late lunch at zaitouna We were served by Anthony who was an absolute pleasure, very helpful when it came to the menu and food was served shortly after ordering. Has a coffee and he was able to tell me what type was used and it was lovely, he also gave us some tips on what works well with the meals we chose and he was very right. The food was lovely, I haven’t tried it before but will definitely be returning We sat outside with our dog there was heaters and very comfortable seating
