Empty at 11am, went in with the intention of eating, we looked at the breakfast menu, a rather abrupt assistant said "that's the breakfast menu, we only serve that until 10" decided to just have a hot drink, felt like good value got money until the drinks turned up, we both had hot chocolate, so poor we didn't drink them, the lotus biscuits were nice.

This place has really gone down since being taken over. Prices skyrocketed and quality and value are in the gutter. Was once a great place now taken over by Chinese who just want the money. Avoid at all costs until taken over by new management.

This cafe could be a whole lot better than it is. The tables are squashed together and the seating is uncomfortable. Whilst a wheelchair could- at a push come in (you need to move a lot of the furniture around and out of the way). Unless the person could walk a little, they would not be able to go to the toilet. The menu and what staff say does not add up. No where on the menu does it state they stop serving breakfast at 10am. I was in the que before 10am and wanted cooked hot, fresh food for my baguette. I was declined because after the slow service it had gone 10am. However on the brunch menu it states you can have eggs royale, omelette etc...so when do they serve brunch until? I was declined hot food as they were prepping for lunch at 10am. I queried this, and was told to shout what i wanted over everyone when i came in, or to email them. Neither would i think of doing, especially shouting my order above other people so it gets honoured. On the menu it also states 'The customer comes first' again, this didn't happen. There is a lot of choice on the board in the shop, and even more online. Its confusing what they sell, at what times, 8and when they stop. They also need more comfortable seating. Due to people quing the seating is open planned, not quiet, private or comfortable. For me it's not a comfortable place to eat and relax. I think it needs to make it's mind up what it is. What times they serve what food until? Make this clear on signs, and online and honour people who were in before 10am. I feel this cafe needs improvement.

I have eaten here many many times of the last few years and always been happy with my spinach wrap. However I thought I would try the salad, as it looked lovely. The selection was ok, however the container that it was served in was tiny and cardboard, which resulted in the bottom getting a little soggy :(. The food was average in taste and VERY over priced for what you actually get....

Came in for a sit-down panini and a coffee. Baguette shops can be a bit production line and basic. But this was clearly as much a proper cafe as a takeaway sandwich joint, and they offer a varied menu. The seating area is clean and attractive. They served up an excellent cheese-and-tomato panini and a good black Americano. Well pleased. Humdrum Theale’s not my favourite place; but, on this evidence, La Baguetterie might be its jewel. I mean, even a Frenchman came in and ordered a baguette–what better endorsement could there be?

We are local and go here regularly to break up the day working from home. The food is good, the coffees are OK but the service is always poor. Staff never greet you, often carry on working behind the counter and don't look up. They always look miserable. So today Sunday we turned up for a full English breakfast. Signs above the counter say breakfast stopped at 10 but in fact they are serving however the menu is only on the tables. Put a sign outside!!! Cobbs was heaving so there's plenty of demand. The single server was cheerful and friendly, spoke to people in the queue and said 'won't be a minute' - magic. The chef delivered the food and was also chirpy. They'd run out of sausages but offered extra bacon. Coffee was slow but a friendly apology. Get your signage organised, put some bunting out on Sundays. Great location, food fine. Could be buzzing.

This establishment is a local gem in my opinion, the shop is on Theale High Street where there’s free parking directly outside for 1hr - staff are ALWAYS so welcoming and helpful. They are well set up for social distancing and have a wide selection of freshly prepared baguettes and panini eat in or takeaway with a wide range of fillings and salads and wide choice of crisps

They are a bit over neurotic about wearing masks. Their espresso is average but all the other coffees were weak and second rate - so much so we will go to Pangbourne for coffee in future. A shame as we like to support independents, but hate poor coffee

I regularly come from Tilehurst to get takeaway baguettes from here for my family on a Saturday. It’s always (nicely) busy and a lovely atmosphere on a Saturday morning. I’ve never had a particularly long wait when ordering, prices are good and the baguettes themselves are Always consistently tasty, well filled, fresh and with an excellent choice of filling (meat and vegetarian options) Love this place, may it have many more prosperous years so I can have many more satisfying lunch’s!!

I have eaten and purchased coffees here before and thought the food/drinks were lovely. However after having ordered from the café to our work I was very disappointed with what I was given. I asked for a ham and cheese Panini. Ironically when it arrived it had a "hot" sticker on even though it was cold like it had been in a fridge. The cheese was still solid (clearly hadn't been melted) ham was cold and the baguette looked anaemic. I was basically charged £4.80 for something that was clearly not what I ordered or expected.

I organised a hen party last weekend for my friend and La Baguetterie catered our lunch and delivered it to our activity venue. They made up individual sandwiches/wraps/baguettes and salads for every person, based on individual requests and named them all for us so we knew who's was who's!!! The food was delicious and fresh, everyone commented how lovely it was and how much they enjoyed their lunch. Thank you so much to Angela and her team (plus her delivery driver!) for being so kind and helpful whilst planning our event and for bringing us really yummy food!! I would highly recommend La Baguetterie and just wish I lived closer so I can visit again in the future!

Wanted a quick bite and coffee but despite there being 4 people working behind the counter and no other customers waiting it took a minute before anyone greeted me. Ordered a coffee and sat at a table with spilt tea all over it so grabbed some napkins and wiped it myself. Another customer sat at an adjacent table and cleared the previous users plates so that she could use the table - not very good really. The coffee I had was just about hot enough but not one I’d rush back for.

I can only really fault this place by how busy it was almost cuing out the door felt pressured to order quick. The blonde member of staff was a bit blunt when ordering. My wife sat at a table While I joined the que to order I was in the que for ten minutes and it that time nobody had cleared the table of plates and cups from the previous costumers. We had to put the dirty plates/cup on the window seal to make room. There was a couple of empty tables but as we had a push-chair with us and this was the only free table we were able to use with out being in everybody’s way. The food was brilliant ordered 3 baguettes had one each and I wanted one to take for my poorly son . The bread they use is amazing all the baguette had fresh fillings well packed out. With a massive selection Most people seemed to be using the take away service and ordering wraps so they must be good. I would definitely go back as the food seems quality. I may just avoid the lunch time rush hour next time.

This is a lovely little establishment on the High Street in Theale. Great coffee and lovely atmosphere. Lots of different sandwiches and baguettes on offer with countless fillings. There are some interesting works of art on the walls, which can be purchased. Staff are very helpful and welcoming especially James who served us last weekend, he clearly understands customer service. Highly recommended for a coffee or lunch.

Visited today for lunch with 2 friends. Ordered 1 breakfast, 2 paninis, 2 lattes and 1 tea. The bill was over £21 ! Sorry but for a little cafe this was far too expensive. Whilst the prices don't look to bad, when you add on 20% vat to eat in you might as well go for good pub grub.

La Bagueterie appears to cater more for the take-away trade than for eat in, with baguettes, coissents, coffee etc. available for eat in or take out.I opted for a cooked breakfast of eggs, bacon, beans, mushrooms, sausage and toast, with a pot of tea.As I ate my breakfast it was easy to see how popular this place is, with a constant stream of customers coming and going through the door.My food was well prepared, well presented, and not bad value for money. The seating area is quite large, clean, and has newspapers available.

I hardly ever went here during lunch time on weekdays, as I don't have the patience to get into a queue if I am just looking for a quick bite. I've visited in the weekend though, and clearly, But that queue is long for a reason - the bread is fresh and crispy, and so are the toppings. I've had only excellent sandwiches here. The coffee is the best in Theale. Certainly better than that of the well-hidden Starbucks in Arlington Business park - and served with an individually wrapped lotus original caramelised biscuit.

Lots of fillings for baguettes and paninies, not the same for cakes and croissants. The bread deserve mention, is really good.I don't think you have to spend too much to be satisfied, maybe it depends on the fillings.A good place to stop and eat something quick.

I went there with my two daughters, in the school holidays,at peak time. We went there for a small bite to eat and a coffee, when we got there it was not so bad but we still had to queue. There were lots of savory options, for instance wraps paninies, salads but not many cakes. My eldest daughter went for a small chocolate crispy cake and a cappuccino, I went for an apple shortbread and my youngest daughter had a quiche. There were enough seats for a small cafe. We chose one right at the back because we did not want to get in peoples' way as they were queuing. However the queue went from the door and looped round the tables, so when we were trying to eat it made us feel uneasy. I thought that it was good value for money however eating space should be away form the queue. Our bill came to ten pounds which we thought was quite reasonable.

I use this place fairly frequently for lunch. There is a very large selection of fillings to be had in wraps, baguettes, paninis (or jackets if you get there early). They also offer salad bowls which you can tailor to your liking. Lots of good extras like spring onion, jalapeños, spicy mayo, sauces and black pepper) too.Staff always pleasant, good selection of cakes, crisps and drinks. The prices aren't that competitive (I come here for lunch as a treat) but you know you'll always get a large portion and be full for hours.

I come here for lunch most weeks, and aside from the lunch time queue (which the staff doesn't take too long getting through), I look forward to my visit every time. I normally get the salad bowl but the wraps and baguettes are very nice too and made fresh while you wait. It's not overly expensive in my opinion. They have a good selection of meats and salads, and I also like the different types of crisps too (some types I haven't seen in the supermarket before). Overall, very good and I'm going to continue going here for lunch!

I enjoyed my food there immensely. The baguettes are decent the fillings fresh and tasty, some great options available, for instance 4 different types of wrap, which is excellent. This place is just so heavily let down by its service. They are not rude, just dis-interested. It took an age to be acknowledged when i arrived. Whilst i appreciate two of the staff were preparing food for later in the day how hard is it to stop and say hello? Also the staff member that did serve me did so very much at her own pace, which i don't mind as it often means they are taking care and or pride in what they are doing, alas this did not come across. The coffee was awful, two sips and it was in the bin. Perhaps some re-training on the coffee machine is in order? Also if you wanted to avoid the coffee and have a cold drink then you are out of luck there as well as they turn the fridge off in the evenings so all the 'chilled' drinks are quite warm for the first few hours of each day. It is a shame, and perhaps i am being a touch harsh, but for me customer service is a prerequisite of a decent experience and i honestly feel they do not even try... plus it's really very expensive compared to local competition.

Nowhere else in Theale to have a coffee and a croissant and it's okay. But the croissants are nicer from the Co-op a few doors down and the coffee didn't blow me away. I had a sausage baguette and the sausages were so cheap. What a shame, I think this could be something amazing with a bit more attention to detail and quality. Would have stayed longer if the plug sockets weren't all covered to stop me plugging my dying laptop in. Maybe they were covered to prevent children sticking their fingers in the sockets or maybe it's to stop people leeching electricity. Depends how cynical I am feeling. I probably won't bother again which is a shame as it would have been nice to have somewhere regular to do a bit of work in the mornings.

I visited here in two separate occasions, one with my sister-in-law and the daughter (age 13) this visit was primarily to do the pottery painting? I can thoroughly recommend this, brilliant activity if you’re into arts and craft. The second occasion was with my husband and my dog to visit the garden centre. This we find it to be a well equipped garden centre which is not overpriced. Some lovely ideas for gifts, outdoor clothing, garden furniture, plants and a pet shop. The Garden centre is dog friendly with a few areas around which does not allow dogs. There’s quite a lot to do at this location , especially if you have a YoungFamily, butterfly, soft play, petting zoo, pottery painting etcetera. There are two cafés at this location, one of them being dog friendly with a segregated area for dogs and the owners. The café is okay, not great. We ordered a sandwich, cheese scone and a pot of tea. The sandwich took 45 minutes to make, It was a nice sandwich although 45 minutes to wait for a sandwich was a bit of a joke. In summary: dog friendly garden centre, children activities, location easy to get to, free parking and a cafe. We will revisit.
