An outstanding curry!! Visit plenty of Indian restaurants all over the country, but this curry that I had here was probably the best curry I’ve ever had. Chefs special king prawn curry, unfortunately can’t remember the name but it was the second in the list on the Chefs Recommendations. Staff were also superb.. busy and challenging night for them, as there was as a few large groups in, yet still managed to serve me on my own plenty of times without having to call for them. Top class food and service, will be back again, if I get the chance to work back nearby, as I’m travelling from Newcastle for 2 nights.

We had a delicious meal here with friends. It was full of flavour. Great service too.

The food is ok as it has been for years. Weather wise a nice sunny afternoon/evening. A meeting point for staff to chat after the Pantiles food fest. Dirty tables, dirty seating area in general. Lost of moans and groans from diners. Not sure I would hurry to go back.

Had a fantastic takeaway from the Kirthon tonight, kushboo chicken was amazing it arrived piping hot and promptly. My compliments the the chefs - amazing.

Enjoyed the rice but couldn't even swallow the chicken it was so dry and chewy, the lamb was ok but not worth the money i'm afraid so back to the Raj

I’ve been to Kirthon a couple of times, each time has been incredible. The food and the service were fantastic. It was my friend’s birthday, and Suki went above and beyond to send a member of his staff out that evening to get my friend a birthday cake! He also let us have a special dish of his, which isn’t on the menu. Truly, such a nice gesture. We also went for a Christmas get together meal and the staff were great, so attentive and bantering alongside our big group. Cannot recommend this place enough if you want a great meal!

Have used Kirthon for 15 years. It has been going downhill for a while now. Tonight was the worst I have ever had. Soggy onion bhajee, chicken in the main dish that must have been boiled to death, it was so solid. Nothing good about tonight’s meal. Won’t be ordering for a while

Come here as a family of 3 and was simply amazing! Food was perfect so delicious they even made a small curry for my Daughter ( Soo creamy) the Saggaloo is to die for! The Waiter was amazing especially with my Daughter (2) ask for Bidhan! Couldnt be more helpful! Such a relaxing vide here! And couldn’t recommend here anymore! Been coming here years and the service, price and atmosphere beats any in this town!

Popped in last night as they were about to close. Happily, they served us. Very chilled out people who came and had a nice chat whilst the chef was cooking. I really like hot food and the chef makes proper chilli to make up a vindaloo sauce and doesn't just add chilli powder. Excellent food, nothing left on the plates or dishes and a very reasonable price. It's on the list to go back to next time we're in the area.

Just ordered a takeaway but despite asking for rice at least 3 times it wasn't on the order. When I called about it not being included I was told I would get a call back. No call back and when I called again they said it would be 2 hours for the rice delivery. I thought the service was very poor and I won't be using then again.

The best indian restaurant in pantiles

Spent an evening at the hotel near by and watched customers coming and going. Due to the mixed reviews we were a little skeptical. However we needn't have been. We ordered the king prawn vindaloo & a lamb madras both with mushroom rice and a garlic naan. It was beautiful, we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Great service from the boys too. Thank you for having us! You can please some of the people, some of the time. But you can't please all of the people all of the time!

Food was very average, for such a high price. Overpricing food. The account was not calculated correctly. It's very dirty inside, I can't imagine what's going on in the kitchen. Underhand, and unacceptable. Avoid.

Ate here with my best friend when the Soul Train event was on. The service was very efficient and friendly, lovely food, served piping hot by friendly waiters. The price was very reasonable for two courses and a main. The evening was fabulous, so many people out enjoying themselves. A definite indication that the Pantiles is the place to be, I've been missing out!

Much the same experience as Nikola in the previous review. Inflated prices for set Jazz night menu take the mick frankly. £30 for 1 course??? Really? Hillarious. Food was average at best too. To be fair though, the service was very good and staff very friendly. I see there is a new Indian restaurant opening next door - I will be going there next time. The live Jazz was superb!

Worst Indian I have ever had! Come for jazz night and it was chewy chicken and all courses had no flavour at all!! Would not return. Bill Come to £140 not worth it!

I hate to be horrible but to me food wasn’t great. Staff were ok, however chicken was like you was chewing gum, didn’t even eat my curry, partners lamb was also chewy. Very disappointed.

Laat ik vooropstellen dat we geen ervaring hadden met de Indiase keuken. Maar we wilden eens iets anders eten, dus waarom de Indiase keuken niet proberen? De ober deed zijn best een en ander uit te leggen. De wijn kwam daarna snel, om een fles water moesten we drie keer vragen. En het eten? Mwah…. Niet slecht, maar ook niet fantastisch. Viel ons eerder wat tegen. De inrichting is wat gedateerd, het bestek onmogelijk om mee te eten. Hadden we dan toch meer nan of chapati’s moeten bestellen?

We visited on a short break to Tunbridge Wells and had a lovely meal. It's in a super location on the Pantiles. The food was delicious and the service was absolutely fantastic. It was our anniversary and we were given a desert on the house.

We turned up late on a Sunday night after being stranded in the snow. We found Kirthon not only open but found the staff wonderfully welcoming and enjoyed a delicious vegetarian meal for two. The food & service was great, can't fault it. Thank you for the kind hospitality!

Place is amazing food top quality staff brilliant I seen a review about allergy’s on here but as soon as I went in the allergies was on the wall and clear on the menu so don’t see the issue will definitely be going back.

Went to this restaurant and explained that my wife and another member of our group had allergies and unfortunately they didn’t take any notice. My wife on getting home collapsed and stopped breathing - she’s ok now thankfully. Another member of our group felt nauseous after consuming her food and had to leave immediately. I have spoken to the owner in person who has denied any contamination of their food. Don’t go here if you have allergies as they will be ignored.

Exceptional food and service. We had a wonderful evening, the curries were divine and the staff were helpful and friendly. The restaurant was busy and buzzing so a great atmosphere. We even had a surprise birthday cake as one of our party was celebrating their birthday. We will definitely be going back.

Went here last weekend. Not sure what has changed over the last few months, but the value and quality of food don't go hand in hand anymore. The staff are polite and helpful, which is always good. But I wont be rushing back.

Didn't even want to eat... Sat down for a drink and wow... We were so lured in by the food and ended up having three courses. Absolutely brilliant and the service is second to none

This is an over-priced Curry establishment for its quality. I ordered the Chicken Banjara Tikka Massala (£11.50), and although it was appropriately spicy, it didn't have the sweetness of its Tikka Massala base. The Bombay Aloo (£5.50) was less flavoursome than I usually expect also. In addition to this, the Chutney, which cost £1, did not come with lime pickle, although this may be excused by the fact there was an alternative to the Chutney called Mixed Pickle. The minimum cost for a soft drink, bar tap water, was £3.50. Furthermore, the service charge was 12.50%, and not mentioned on the menu. On a positive note I would say the service was very good. Also, when I disputed the bill, over the service charge, they were generous in their settlement.

I’m Asian, so I know good Indian/Pakistani food. Poppadoms- greasy, bottled sauces Starters - deep fried from frozen rubbish Middle mixed grill course - chicken soft and succulent, lamb tough as boots Main - like a microwave meal , garbage. Service - the waiter here was on crack I think, he was pouring my wine every 10 mins - I don’t want a full glass, I don’t want to guzzle it - so stop!! They’re basically trying to shift you out the door for the next lager swigging punters to sit So this place is serving bottom end ‘ curry’ for young beer swillers… that’s their aim So don’t bother going if you like good authentic Indian food - cos it’s not.

The Dhal scan be inconsistent over different orders, not always fresh and the lamb as at most Indian could be better quality or have longer and slower cooking. Overall reasonable with very good service

£98 for 2 for a pretty average meal.

Had a delivery to Blackham last night for a social event for 22 oeople. Suki and his team handled the order professionally and took the time and consideration to make sure everything was right even catering outside the menu and adding a few extras.... Suki even delivered the order personally and stayed with us to help distribute the food and make sure we were all happy. Food was hot and delicious! Highly recommended.

The food was delicious, but the portion of chicken tikka was so small it was like a starter. Not good value for money.

I thought this was a bit underwhelming, especially given their location on The Pantiles. The food wasn't anything special - a bit bland and uninspiring, and the service wasn't anything special either. I was also a little bit concerned that they appeared to be admitting drinkers who were struggling to prove they were of age for a licensed establishment to legally serve them alcohol.

Amazing delicious food and love the way that the food is presented in the little dishes.

Kirthon is my favourite Indian in Kent. I’d been ordering for ages via Deliveroo (download their app, better choice) before I realised it has a lovely location on the Pantiles. I just happened to be passing by and stopped in to introduce myself and the team were extremely friendly… the tikka masala is wonderful but the team will recommend something to your taste if you’d like to mix it up. My guest fancies herself as an expert in Indian food and she agreed it was one of the best she’d had. Highly recommended!

Good quality Indian at super reasonable prices. We did take out - the seafood balti was particularly delicious. Quick and nice service too.

Without doubt, the best Indian restaurant inTunbridge Wells, a warm welcome every time we eat there and the take-aways are brillliant. The food is absolutely 1st class. We use this restaurant frequently, have tried others but always go back to the Kirthon. Prices are very reasonable, and service is excellent.

Regularly order from Kirthon, they are our go-to for take-away curry. Food is always fantastic quality!

Food was amazing, order received as placed and was cooked withing stated time. Staff were polite and helpful too. Definitely going to order again and would recommend to everyone. Parking in pantiles would be available after 6pm or 30 mins within parking bay before 6pm if you're collecting your order.

We enjoyed a very tasty dinner here and we're lucky to get a table on a busy Saturday night. Friendly and attentive staff, but we were very uneasy at the social distancing in the restaurant. We sat in the only table in the middle row, but we were very close to either side. Better though than all the other tables who sat back to back. Difficult times for restaurants, but it did detract from an otherwise good dining experience.

Food was excellent and staff were very friendly and loved the milkshake at the end of the evening. Place was buzzing and we had a good night and will definitely return as soon as possible.

Ordered a takeaway from here for my birthday as a little treat, had been here before and were impressed with what we'd had. However, 2/3 of the dishes we ordered arrived tepid. Disappointed, my partner phoned up the restaurant. He put the phone call on loudspeaker, so my family & I could hear what was going on. The man on the other end of the phone said there was no way the food could be cold as he cooked it and delivered it himself. There was discussion of getting another one sent out, but I'd lost my patience with this man accusing us of lying before even trying to find a solution and were appalled by his attitude that I wasn't interested in that, so my partner asked for a refund. The man said he would only give us a refund if we could show him that the food was cold so he agreed that he would send someone out to come and collect it to investigate. Obviously by that time it would have been cold regardless but anywho. 20 minutes had passed and no one had arrived, so I phoned up myself to check someone was on the way. I was admittedly pretty frustrated by this point, but I have never been spoken to in the way this man spoke to me on the phone and I was almost lost for words. After having an argument with him about whether the food was cold or not, he said (and I quote) "Well it's not like I drove to bloody Scotland and back is it?". It was at this point that I really didn't even know what to say to him. I pointed his rudeness out to him and the fact that he was clearly accusing us of lying. I asked him where the driver was who was meant to be collecting our order and he told us that we had in fact never even asked for a refund and that they were already re-making the whole order. Then he went around everyone he was working with and asked them all "Did you hear any mention of a refund?" - unsurprisingly they all said no... this conversation went on for about 10 minutes, back and forth. He just wouldn't believe us that the food was cold and obviously did not want to give us our money back. I just had lost all interest in having food from here after enduring such rudeness. If he hadn't been so horrible, I would have absolutely accepted my food to be re-made. I just couldn't deal with speaking to this rude man any longer so I put my partner on the phone. In the end, they came to the agreement whereby my partner actually had to drive down to the restaurant with the cold food in order to get a refund - which I thought was pretty shocking. Eventually, after about half an hour more (we are about 1.5 hours after our original order was placed at this point) he returned with a refund and a bottle of wine for me which was given once mentioned that it was my birthday (ha). Needless to say I did not drink this wine, and was tempted to take back after the way I was spoken to by this man. Whilst my partner was in the restaurant waiting for things to be sorted, someone had walked in to book a table for the Thursday night jazz, but as they were fully booked, a discussion was overheard between two other members of staff where they agreed to replace a couple who were already booked in with the newly requested booking as the people who already had a booking had complained a few weeks prior. These people clearly can't take criticism and their customer service is beyond awful. I'll never be going anywhere near this place again and have been encouraging everyone I know to do the same.

Went down for dinner and jazz. Very good service and great food. They were also happy to cook something not in the jazz menu. Highly recommended.

I have eaten at this restaurant many times with family and friends and had numerous take-aways. The food has always been lovely, the prices very reasonable and the the staff friendly and welcoming. Tonight, I have just returned from a meal at the Kirthon and although the food and service were very nice. The evening developed a nasty taste when I received the bill. Even with the Government "Eat out to help out," scheme, the bill was at least twice what it would have normally been. Ironically I was prepared to give my usual generous tip, but I didn't think that on this occasion it was deserved.I have always been a good customer and thought that my custom was valued, but now I realise that was not true. I will miss the Kirthon, but I now distrust the management and will not be going back.

We have been to the Kirthon many times over the years, and decided to go there recently on the govt 'Eat out to Help out' scheme. We found the whole experience very disappointing;- staff not wearing Covid19 protective face shields or masks inside the restaurant.- nobody was asked to sanitise their hands on entering the restaurant, although a few hand sanitisers were seen in a couple of locations.- only a limited one page menu was available, with no clear details of how each dish was cooked or what it was. We didn't know this when we booked a few days before visiting.- no hot plates used as they had always been before, so main courses served up on plates only. Not attractive and food didn't stay hot.- the cost was exorbitant. Despite receiving the govt discount of £20, our total bill came to what it always used to! So prices had all been increased significantly!- new decor and seating arrangements not as good as previously. Booths didn't really give enough social distancing between different parties backing onto one another.Will not be returning in a hurry! Such a shame.

We were excited for Jazz on the Pantiles to return so booked a table at Kirthon as we have been before and enjoyed it. We were seated outside on a plastic table that didn’t look clean and didn’t have a table cloth. Our knives and forks were just placed on the table, staff weren’t wearing masks and there was not 2m between tables. The service was shocking and we were forgotten about on several occasions. When going inside to the toilets (there is only 1 male and 1 female) there were no safety measures in place with staff stood on the stairs not moving out the way, plates of food sat on the side with several of the staff stood around breathing over. I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever had a worse experience in a restaurant and it’s genuinely the most unsafe I’ve felt since the pandemic began. Avoid at all costs.

Friendly and accommodating staff. Food was delicious and came up fairly quickly. Reduced menu probably due to slow reopening and limited customer numbers. Pricing a little expensive even with our £10 discount but would definitely return.

The main course twice the price of normal Indian restaurants. waited over 30 minutes for a drinks order and had to remind waiters 4 times. Oredered 6 poppadoms.Only 4 arrived but we were charged for 6. New bill. Chaerged for 6 chutneys which we didn't order, nor did we have. Service was chaotic. The food was good but vastly overpriced. To add insult to injury we had to pay £20 entry to the Pantiles as there was a jazz band providing music. Not the restaurant's fault to be fair.

A group of us dropped by here on our way back to London as we had always wanted to visit the Pantiles.We were given paper menus with extravagant prices, particularly for main courses. I happened to see a normal traditional menu on a smaller table on my way to the toilet, which I picked up and glanced at. I was astonished to see that this menu was so much cheaper, Starters were £2 cheaper, mains were half price, in fact, everything including rice and nans was all so much cheaper!! and there was not any mention of service charge!!Maybe they have hiked their prices due to the Government's "Eat out to help out" Scheme., which is unfair on the public as they will get reimbursed by the Government within two weeks. We did not want to make a fuss at the time, but the more we have thought about it the more we think something fishy was going on.The food was fine, the Pantiles were worth seeing, but we will not be returning to this Restaurant.

Kirthon has a great location, friendly hosts but most importantly delicious Indian food. Tonight we had prawn puree, lamb shashlik and lamb saag as recommended by Suki and it was delicious as always. Sitting out on the Pantiles on a warm evening like tonight was a great experience despite the current Covid situation. Tables were well spaced, everyone respectful and all the right measures in place. Highly recommended.

As a family of 3 who always love a decent curry we were welcomed by Suki and instantly felt at home. The warm welcome was good however the food was even better!! Set in the beautiful Pantiles and being given the option to dine inside or outside was perfect. They have really transformed this place since the new refit and
