Kitsu was absolutely wonderful. I was introduced by a friend and it immediately became one of my top places to eat. Not only was the sushi delicious and the best I’ve had, the staff were lovely and the service was great. Can’t wait to dine here again.

Found this place a few years ago and very happy to keep coming back. The sushi is excellent and the staff are helpful and friendly. Just a great place to go.

Popped in for a bit to eat at lunch. Had some sushi and soup noodles. The food was excellent, as was the service. Cosy little place. We will be back.

I know this place because we have ordered their outstanding sushi as a takeaway, and we also know, and very much like, Kiko which is their more formal restaurant on the London Road. However, I had never been to Kitsu for a sit down lunch in this tiny, but comfortable sushi and noodle bar. The lunch menu which is just £16.50 for a a self selected combination of nigiri, maki, and special roll uramaki which I think amounted to around 10 pieces. It was beautifully presented and was nothing short of exquisite, as well as being phenomenal value to boot. The servers were prompt and really know what they are talking about, and on that note my friend enjoyed it so much he wanted to bring his partner who happens to be gluten intolerant and celiac. On enquiring as to whether or not the restaurant can accomodate these dietary requirements, our server provided a most comprehensive and complete response that reassured my friend that his partner would really enjoy a meal at Kitsu. Having shared with my wife this unsurprising, but excellent experience eating in at Kitsu, her response was as usual very much to the point "...when are we going?...".

Absolutely an excellent restaurant. Off and on for the last 7 years we've been going here. Never fail to impress!

Such an excellent little restaurant. Very nice food, very tasty, full of flavours and the presentation is excellent. Take a look at the pictures and tell me you don't want to taste the food at least once!...

Always great food and the lunch at £12.50 was great value and delicious. The agedashi tofu, gyoza and chicken yaki udon were particularly lovely.

This is a review from a takeaway not dining in the restaurant. It feels like the portions are getting smaller. (Size of the sushi) I spent £34 for one person on my order and the sushi size was tiny. I won’t be getting my food here again unfortunately which is a shame as it is good sushi but I will not pay £34 to not be full after a meal.

What a lovely little find! If you blink you miss it but holy moly am I glad I didn’t! Bang for your buck with amazing service! You’ll see us again!! (And they’re open on Mondays!)

Been going for years. Staff are very friendly with my children. Food (sushi) is excellent. It’s a smaller place and gets a bit noisy when very busy, otherwise one of my favourite places anywhere.

The food was very good and was served quickly. The service was very hectic, but they tried very hard. The price-performance ratio is also absolutely right :)

I met up with a friend for a meal there. The staff were polite and helpful. The meal was perfect. I plumped for vegetarian options. Plenty to choose from. Lovely freshly made food. Good presentation and good relaxed ambience. Well done Kitsu!

An amazing place to get authentic sushi, the food is sensational and service is great. A great vegetarian selection with vegetarian sushi available and noodle dishes. The set lunch menu has makes it a really affordable option. Only improvement would be a larger restaurant!!

Easily the best sushi restaurant around Tunbridge Wells and the wider area. I am not local but whenever I am in the area I always make sure I pay a visit.

Been several times, but will not be coming back. Rushed meal when celebrating a family birthday. Service charge added on top when they knew we were unhappy was insulting. Very expensive, poor experience. Will not be returning.

My family and I have been a number of times and because of the good food, returned for my son’s birthday on a Saturday evening service on this occasion. Having spent a lot of money - and being rushed, we won’t be coming back, sadly. I am aware this is a popular restaurant. However, as it is small, it clearly cannot manage the number of diners. This experience ruined a family birthday. Service charge added on top when we were clearly unhappy, made it a very expensive, bad experience.

Very nice restaurant for proper sushi. Been here twice and enjoyed it both times, good value and has excellent food. The only down side is both times they have given us a time restriction to leave. We go for an evening out, it's not a fast food take away.

Family meal for my mother, brother and cousin plus various partners, nephews and nieces. As always the Kitsu team made us feel welcome, and the food was superb as ever. Our American relatives were impressed at the quality and price of the sushi. GF available for a couple of relatives who have dietary requirements. We return time and again because we love the food and the staff.

This is one of those places that should be twice the size it is as the food is delicious. Took our kids there to try sushi for the first time & we had so many different types of food (the menu can be overwhelming). But if you get the chance definitely go

The best sushi I've ever eaten... I've tried a lot of sushi from around the world. Quality is always consistent and it's such great value for money. We live an hour away and go back at least once a month.

Very nice Asian style food with a prompt service. My only gripe was the staff mentioning to every customer that they had a reservation for one table at 1pm.

Unbelievable food! Unbelievable service! I ordered a take away from here and have done quite a few times! The chicken katsu never disappoints its everything! The portions are big which is even better! Defo try the pork bao bun! The best Ive ever had for sure!

I had a very nice lunch, it was a set lunch menu where I had the Tempura Sushi, and the I had the Seafood Ramen as a Main, plus some green tea, The Sushi was incredible and the Ramen delicious, I highly recommend this restaurant, plus my bill came to £15.40

Fantastic platters for a birthday celebration

The best sushi I have ever had. I've tried many sushi restaurants, including the famous sushi samba. This restaurant and its sister restaurant far out rank all others. The service is fast and friendly. The food is phenomenal. And the price is too cheap for the quality.

I usually love the food from here and we often grab food to go. Howeve, sadly last night was not an enjoyable experience. Food was not the same, poor quality sushi that lacked flavour with over cooked rice. I'm hoping this was a one off blip .

Hands down one of the best resturants in Tunbridge Wells. Make sure to book ahead of time on the phone for peak times. I will never forget the first time I ate here, the food was so delicious, me and my friend didn't talk because we were so engrossed in each delicious mouthful. I wish I discovered this place earlier. This is now one of my favourite places to visit for a special occasion meal.

I have been here many times dining in and taking out, to the point the waiter actually knows our order, embarrassing as it may be, it has been the most consistent, reasonably priced sushi with highest quality I have had in the UK. I couldn’t recommend this more, however they are extremely busy every time they open (for good reason) It is a small place but they output so much food and all of it is fantastic quality and very very fresh. Even if it was in a larger place I have no doubt they would be as packed as they are. Portion sizes are great and I look forward to coming here every time.

A fab little place with amazing food. We've had sushi here a few times and always leave full up and happy. Canteen style dining so it's no frills on the atmosphere but totally worth it for the amazing food.

Lovely place to eat or grab a takeaway from. Love the ramen especially with the chilli base. Braised pork noodles also great. Ichiban set fantastic if you're after sushi. The Green dragon roll is amazing. Corkage fee for your alcohol needs but I like that as I get to choose my wine before I go!

This is a small restaurant. Make sure a table is pre-booked as a walk-in is almost impossible.

Absolutely fantastic sushi, couldn't recommend this place enough. But there aren't many tables so definitely book a table. Staff were friendly and there was a great vibe in the restaurant.

On a positive my wife thought the sliced raw fish medley was superb although pricey. Unfortunately after that nit impressed. Chicken and noodles cooked and brought out in about 3 mins. To be honest bland and one flavour all you could taste. And then to the ridiculous. So I understand there is no alcohol and you can bring your own so I popped up the road and grabbed 4 beers for a £5. When we got the bill they charged us £2 a can corkage so £8 to drink the 4 cans of beers I had to go and purchase! This won’t keep customers coming as I will never go back ! This is why we paid the exact bill amount !

This place is amazing. Fantastic authentic sushi Reasonably priced. Great lunch menu. Lovely staff. We go multiple times a week. Can’t recommend enough. *not licensed so take your own alcohol should you want it. Some chat on previous reviews about cash needed. Not the case. Cards accepted.

This is my updated review on this place and is still the same absolutely OUTSTANDING, my favourite restaurant and is my favourite place to go to on a weekend, everything is just amazing and the sushi is amazing. I very highly recommend this place to anyone in tunbridge wells or near!

I just finished trying to eat our takeaway order from Kitsu. It was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with takeaway. They usually have amazing and fresh food, but the spicy salt pepper squid tasted like it was fried half an hour prior to collection (i collected it at the time specified). The chicken in the sushi was dry and absolutely tasteless. The best part of the meal was the plain rice. Considering it cost £23 and they keep putting their prices up, I will no longer order from them.

We have been eating at and ordering to take away for years. Absolutely exquisite sushi. The salmon and toro are melt in the mouth and I can’t order without my one hot item - katsu fried squid. Best I’ve ever had. The staff are all wonderful, chefs obviously top notch and the servers are always friendly when you can clearly tell are under pressure. Unfortunately, we’ve had to wait such a long time for service hence the 4 stars instead of 5. Last visit, we ordered to takeout and ended up waiting for 35 minutes. Each time I popped in I was told another 5 minutes. I wasn’t the only one. A few disgruntled patrons were hovering outside for some time. The amount of Uber Eats tickets in the window makes me wonder if they should have a cut off for orders. They just cannot manage and they’re going full steam as it is. Kitsu, you’re my favourite place to eat and we love you but you need to prioritise your orders a little better or just cut back on the amount you allow. For the health of your staff alone.

Just ate at Kitsu for the first time and it definitely will not be the last! The staff were really friendly and attentive throughout the whole meal and the food was amazing. Sushi was so fresh and such a variety on the menu. You need to book ahead as it is a small restaurant but well worth the visit.

Wonderful little noodle bar off the high street in Tunbridge Wells. Amazing flavors and nice varied menu with good options for set menus. Friendly and customer oriented staff. Will definitely go again!
