Air Time Thai in Tunbridge Wells

Enjoyed a lovely meal here recently, and I have to say both my husband & I were impressed. Competition on this road is fierce as there are three Thai restaurants, including, 1 which has a very good reputation, however we chose not to patronise that one and try and independently owned Thai restaurant and we were glad we did! There needs to be more independent restaurants otherwise you could be eating anywhere in the UK. We both had starters and main courses, I didn’t drink, my husband had draught Singa, I had a large bottle of sparkling water and our bill was less than £70 with the 10% service charge. The food was beautifully presented and tasted spot on.

We ordered a home delivery. It took just 35 minutes from order time to delivery. Everything was a big disappointment. We’ve eaten at the restaurant a couple of times and everything was great, but today’s delivery was atrocious. The ‘crispy’ pork was not just crispy, it was impossible to cut. The jungle curry was just like salty water, no taste of curry. The chicken wings and fish cake were equally bad. The only good thing about the meal was the rice. Our 1st and last delivery from this restaurant!

We’ve gone to this restaurant for over a year now and our experience with service was great until this terrible male server who seem to have problems with us having a toddler as he gave us this look and suggested our toddler to be quiet while our child was just being a toddler its not like she was screaming out loud destroying things. Also he had a problem with us not ordering rice for our main course and retuning a beer that tasted chemical. This entire time we were nice and being civil and said thank you to him when leaving in front of him but he completely ignored us and seem to complain in his language. Although another female server was great as usual, this male server really changed our impression of this restaurant and we will never go back again. Absolutely terrible experience after spending £80+.

Very overpriced, mediocre food.

FAQ - @ a high price Fair Average Quality. Been going to the previous incarnation of this restaurant for years. This is a very average Thai. Will not be going back, all starters deep fried, stir fry with frozen soggy veg. Much better options in t.wells since the change of hands.

Food much better than Giggling Squid. Nice and hot and ready at the pick up time. Didn't taste like it had been sitting around unlike Giggling Squid. Fresh. Chicken plentiful and good quality. Maybe more spice and thicker less sauce. Otherwise good. Packaged well. Give these independent local guys ago! Website needs investment. Online ordering would be good. The pdf menu is not hi res making it difficult to read. Very polite nice people.

Bought take away which was still hot even when I got it home. Every bite was tremendous.

Absolutely fab food as usual, very welcoming and great atmosphere. If your looking fir a great Thai thisnosnthe place to go. Also caters for gluten free.

Had a lovely meal here two weeks ago. The pad thai and green thai curry were both excellent, there is plenty of choice for vegetarians, and the green pancakes were delicious!

Really disappointed with our order tonight, we have been ordering Thai from this location for around 20 years, there has since been a change of owner. Ordered the volcano chicken and coconut rice, rice was ok but the volcano chicken was nowhere near the quality of the previous owners. Bland and watery sauce with unseasoned grilled grissly chicken, my wife's beef was tough. Given it was a lot more expensive than the previous owners, it's difficult to accept the drop in quality, could have easily made this to a higher standard at home. Won't be ordering again.

Service and decor was fine, and food prices ok, drinks prices high, but the food was not that great. Food was pretty bland. We have been a couple of times to see if it was a one off issue, but it’s fair to say it was not. We won’t be going back.

Wonderful. Very nice menu with good selection. Good cocktails and wine lust. Nice attentive service in nice ambiance. Will go back soon.

Mmmmmm Pad Thai 🤤 Oh sorry, I was just remembering the delicious flavours and mouthwatering aromas of the meal I had last night. It was and amazing Thai experience, probably the best I've ever had. The curries were so creamy and infused with fresh herbs and spices. Very well made Pad Thai with lots of yummy tamarind enhanced sauce. I can't fault it, it was just too good! We'll definitely be back with new people to share this fantastic Thai food.

Some of the best Thai food I have had outside SE Asia. Cannot understand why a nameless chain down the road was nearly full and this restaurant was half empty when food here is massively better. You do need to be able tolerate chilli for the spicier dishes however. Looking forward to returning soon.

Delicious food, warm welcome and incredible service. The place has rebranded and the food, vibe and service are better than before. The food is fabulous and delicious- the menu has something for everybody and it’s great value considering the great quality. The starters were jaw dropping but the mains are just brilliant too. The service is fab - friendly, fast, attentive and lots of smiles. We’ll come again- both with grown up and younger guests. Nice relaxed, laid back vibe with delicious food. Thanks guys.

Our second time visiting Air Time Thai Restaurant, and not gonna lie, the standard of this restaurant is still the same with fantastic food and friendly staff. My family and I love Thai food, and it's very hard to find nice and original authentic Thai food. We are very happy that we found this place. We ordered a Mixed Meat Platter, Sweet corn cake, salt&pepper squid, Tom yum soup with prawn, and beef salad for the starter. I would recommend a Mixed platter for people that can't make a decision what to have, you would literally get nearly all kinds of starters in that mixed platter. For the meal, we ordered chicken kra prao, prawn pad Thai, Pork red curry, and the chef recommended 'kra prao moo Grob', which is a crispy pork belly. I got to say this is probably my favourite dish. We are so happy that we found this restaurant, and we would definitely come back to this restaurant again. Highly recommend!

Me and my boyfriend went here for the first time and we got to say it’s probably one of the best thai restaurants so far. We got a chance to talk to one of the young lady that work there and we just found out that the restaurant just open not too long. They are so friendly and nice. Food is amazing, so authentic, and their price is not to crazy expensive especially with their drink offer. I would highly recommend everyone to try their Thai food. Newbie restaurant but good quality food.

Was one of my favourite Thai restaurants in Tunbridge Wells, recently changed hands.....and pleased to say still my favourite! The best red curry I've ever eaten.

I had Thai fish cake, Thai green curry (chicken) which was really good, but I had the banana dessert… it was amazing. The wine was very nice aswell!! Great services!!

Good food, friendly staff. Down side, on a cold January evening delivery drivers in and out collecting so it’s freezing cold which must also bother the staff. Sitting having a meal with delivery drivers lounging at the tables waiting for their collections.

I've only used Gaab Kao for takeaway, both delivery and collection, but it's a great Thai restaurant. Friendly staff, great prices and delicious food. In my opinion, the best noodles in town!

One main dish was missing after delivery so I phoned them and explained that one person from our dinner party doesn't have any food. He seemed to not care and said they couldn't send the dish out. Just seemed desperate to hang up as soon as possible. No solution to the problem apart from an automated refund through the app. Extremely disappointed with the poor level of customer service. Won't use again.

Was lazy to prepare a meal for myself tonight, and went for a walk to see somewhere to eat. Gaab Kao (Sucheera, guess their former name?) did not fail to make my evening really tasty. Had a Green Thai Curry, Egg Rice, and Rice Banana Dessert. All exactly how I remember having it in Thailand. The young gent who served me was super nice, and friendly :-P Can’t go wrong here :-D

Excellent food and great cocktails and the staff were gracious and friendly. Especially recommend the coconut Martini cocktail. Would thoroughly recommend. Indeed, we had a much better Thai meal here than we had experienced recently at a more established nearby Thai restaurant.

We just moved to the area and Decided to get take away today, was very pleased! We ordered salt chilli squid as a starter, the portion was huge and very tasty. I had the massaman curry and my husband had the stir fry. Really generous portions and very delicious. We’ll be back here

Fed up with the rude, unattentive staff at the giggling squid we decided to give this restaurant another go. Thrilled we did... it is back to the good old days of superb service and amazing food. We will be returning and highly recommend, had a lovely evening.

So this place is the twin to Tonbridge, which is really nice so I was keen to see the same - it was. Went with my date ( not a first lol) There’s parking opposite & we had a livener in the Townhouse cocktail bar. Decor is ok. It was warm on a chilly night. We sat at the back but we’re comfortable. We expected a short wine list & were offered French or Argentinian red We had the latter, which was nice whilst we looked over the menu. The mixed platter had a couple of fish involved so they were happy to swop one out. They were really enjoyable. We followed with a mid course of duck which was off the bone and so a little dry. I guess they cook all the ducks then remove off the bone and set aside. A quarter duck was enough with 6 pancakes and it’s well priced. We then finished with a Panang & rice and a stir fry. All was lovely and beautifully cooked. Staff were great. My only complaint was that my date said the toilets were not cool, - perhaps a prior user. An 8/10 overall. I’d say the Tonbridge place is just a little better but well worth a visit here.

Had a really lovely meal here on Saturday, restaurant was very clean and cosy. Generous portions and very tasty. Our waiter was very polite and happy. Only downside is the 10% service charge, we would have tipped anyway but we like to decide weather to tip or not and not be told to do so. For this reason 4 out of 5 stars.

Now known as 'Gaab Kao' (not sure if new owners etc.) - but we had a fantastic meal tonight as a group of 4. Excellent food/quality and even better service! Fully recommend a visit if in the area & fancy some lovely authentic Thai food.

Thankfully survived the lockdown, & and hopefully we'll stay open for many years yet as the food is delicious with excellent service.

Ordered extremely expensive takeaway yesterday - duck curry and pad thai noodles. Completely inedible and a total rip off. Avoid

We have been coming here for years and we have always been so impressed with Sucheera. The staff are lovely, the food tastes amazing and the portion sizes are great. I would recommend going to Sucheera! We recently had a takeaway from here on 16th December for my mum's birthday and it was just like being in the restaurant- the quality was the same and so were the portion sizes.

The takeaway Prawn Curry was of very poor quality, a tasteless watery soup with the odd prawn floating around and little else, and the vegetable curry was not much better. Added to this, any crispness the spring roll had was long gone, it was very flimsy and dead on arrival, and the whole meal looked as if it had been hanging around for a long time before delivery which may explain why it took more than 2 hours to arrive. I can't remember having a worse Thai meal than this. Dreadful, will never order from there again.

Ordered delivery, only 2 dishes, called back within 2 minutes to order some rice with it and was told our order was already out for delivery? Order then arrived 20 mins later and was incorrect and lukewarm. Incredibly disappointed, when called staff were unhelpful and dismissive. Would not recommend.

Ordered for takeaway, arrived unbelievably quickly... Portion sizes, much too small, massaman curry really tasty, but small and didn't come with rice, and the chicken pad Thai must have been cooked days ago, no zing, no real flavour, no lime provided and soggy nuts (fnar). Insult to injury is it was £50 quid for 3 dishes. Either lower your prices or increase your portion size is my recommendation. Wouldn't eat here again.

I haven't rated a restaurant before but felt I needed to after tonight's disappointing take away. All 5 dishes bland, sauces thin and lacking flavour and chicken was actually cold.

Waited an hour to order to find out its closed. Just a simple note on the website would help. Very poor.

Good service and comprehensive menu

Lovely food but check the bill! After a delicious meal with a couple of minor service issues we spent 35mins trying to get £50 of extra stuff off our bill that had been added, hopefully by mistake. Should have been much easier than it was to sort out so rather spoilt the whole experience for us.

Having read all the overwhelmingly positive reviews of the food at Sucheera, I was very disappointed that I never got to try some myself. Unfortunately, this was due to the incredibly poor service we received at the restaurant from a manager who seemed to carry a very large chip on her shoulder. She acted both rudely and unprofessionally. A friend and I had been shown to a table and ordered drinks when a member of staff asked us if we could move because the table had been booked. We said that we’d prefer to stay because we’d already ordered our drinks, and she said that was okay and left. We were then approached by the more senior member of staff, possibly the manager, who told us to move to another table again. I told her that we had already been asked, and that the previous employee had said it was okay for us to stay — to which she made a scene, rolling her eyes, sighing loudly and shouting: “fine, you stay at this table then.” The other people around us looked pretty surprised too. I was appalled by the unprofessional demeanour of her response. We left, and I would recommend management attend a customer service course or learn some basic manners or risk losing more customers.

Can’t fault the ladies serving and the portion sizes but the food was average at best and was really overpriced: paid £70 for 2 people and have much much better meals for that money. Was disappointed and frustrated it cost so much for something we didn’t really enjoy.

Firstly I should disclose that some of the ladies who I work with in the NHS Catering Dept also work in Sucheera and that I could therefore reasonably expect a discount. I didn't get one. Damn. Never mind, for 30.80 pounds my wife and I had 2 courses each and 2 Changi beers for lunch. Food was good, service and staff nice. Premises are kept clean. I will keep going back.

We really enjoyed our evening at Sucheera. Fab service, lovely food and nice and central. Feels authentic too, with a more formal setting upstairs and a more lively setting downstairs.

I can never praise it enough! Food is always delicious, can take a while sometimes, but that's the price for gorgeous food cooked to order from fresh, delicious ingredients. Lovely staff, always friendly and there's a reason we go here for family get togethers almost every time! Highly recommended.

Brilliant, very attentive service. I have a severe fish allergy and being a Thai restaurant fish, or fish product is in many dishes. Not only did they assure me that the chef would be told I was recommended various meals that contained no fish. If you like spicy ...an excellent family evening. Not cheap, but very good.

Food was beautifully presented and service was attentive albeit a quiet night. Would have received 5 stars but the restaurant felt a little dated and equally we could hear the music from the kitchen downstairs over the ambient music upstairs.

Went as a family group of 8. Staff were extremely helpful and courteous but fun as well. Sharing platter starter was very nice. I had lamb main which was very tasty but I found myself looking wistfully at others chicken volcane. House red was a nice French merlot. £218 for starters,main and drinks for 8 of us seemed reasonable. Would recommend and will go there again.
