Very tasty food, friendly staff and an excellent service

We ordered our first take away and we were pleasantly surprised as the food was very ample in portions and freshly well prepared and tasted delicious so we will definitely order from here again. Thank you from the Stewards

Its ok is about all I can say for it. Looks dated and old, and food was nothing special. Better places you can have a curry around paddock wood.

Ordered a takeaway..Prawn dansak, pila rice, sag panir.. The worst curry we ever had..food bland, flavourless and stodgy. Prawns over cooked, like rubber. No lentils in the dansak.. Wasn't even pila rice, more like boiled rice.. Avoid at all cost..waste of money.. Would give no stars if we could.!!!

Never again - place supposed to close around 11pm, by 9.55 it was empty and staff stood staring waiting for us to finish it was so awkward and it’s not the first time jt has happened. Very rude and will never go again.

Went in after work to have a quick curry but was refused a table in the empty restaurant as I was in work clothes. I am a builder and after working a long day wanted to get a nice meal with a colleague. The joke is, even after a long day on site we were both cleaner and smarter looking than the trampy peado looking manager who was a scruffy old pervy looking thing who rudely refused us entry to his empty restaurant, I’m actually glad I didn’t eat there as he probably spunks in the sauces!

Having been here a few times, this will be my last. Having said this before, I put it down to a bad night and tried again but it has not changed. Saturday night, well before 10pm and we were the last in the restaurant. The closing time states 11 pm. The music was turned off, and the staff congregated around the bar area and stood close. It was so uncomfortable and completely ruined the evening. I felt intimidated and a couple of the waiters was watching us. I will not be returning and will not even get a takeaway now. It's a shame because it is a nice environment. PWood needs some decent evening restaurants/bars it is a ghost town after 8pm. Sorry Simla, another two people that will not enter your premises ever again.

We have been here many times since it opened and had some very nice meals. Abdul the manager is always very welcoming. The last couple of times the food was tasteless. This week the Korma was so thick it stuck to the spoon like glue, the Rogan tasted as if it had been cooked and re cooked several times. We were not offered the desert menu and we were not asked if we enjoyed the meal at any time during the meal. Needless to say Abdul was not there at all. Come on Simla buck your ideas up.

Great place to eat Indian food. The staff here are very nice ,the food is outstanding as well as the service and reasonably priced too we were out for nans 97 th birthday and they made us all feel welcome thanks guys

Booked for a special occasion and left very disappointed. Sat down at 6:30pm and it took 30 minutes for our drinks order to be served (table of 7) after having to ask the staff several times. Our starters arrived an hour after our arrival and our main courses served at 8pm. The staff appeared too busy with the ‘take away’ orders to pay us any attention. Food was not the best and considering lots was left on our plates, no one asked how our meal was. When booking had identified we were celebrating 2 family birthdays and no mention was made. One friendly waitress but apart from that we would not go back.

Really bad experience at this restaurant- had been recommended but goodness knows why. I would not have known what I was eating - flavourless and bland. Waited 40 minutes having ordered well in advance - will not return.

Just moved to Paddock Wood, from Maidstone. We were spolied by the selection of high quality Indian restaurants in Maidstone, so we had high expectations. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent. Hot, tasty food and friendly service. We would highly recommend them. We will definitley be going there again. Thanks Simla!

Food was of a satisfactory level but the way the overseer/manager just stood and stared at us the whole time was one of the most uncomfortable dinning experience

After being a loyal customer with my local restaurant for 20 Years the level of the quality of the food had rapidly changed over the previous months so after a run of bad takeaways i decided to try Simla, I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Pilau Rice, Sag Panir, Naan bread Tikka Masala was luke warm the portion size would have passed for a kids meal, Very bland with no flavour The Rice was again was not that hot The Sag Panir was just horrible The bread was the best part but dipping it in luke warm sauce was not ideal I never complain i will just move on and try somewhere else How this place has 4.6 Star blows my mind!

Hands down the best Indian takeaway in Paddock Wood! The food is lovely, fairly priced and the staff are very welcoming!

Went with some friends last night and the food was superb. Great value.

First time here in 8 years. Food always top quality, since 1984! Good to see that this type of quality does not always change. Only criticism is the guy who brings the food along and clears the table. His English is indecipherable, and he cuts into any table conversation by shouting through it.

Simla does delicious food. I think maybe the menu has changed a bit recently. There a prawn/spinach dish with melted cheese on top that I don’t remember from before. I’ve never come across it before but it works. My only real complaint is how small the portions are now. You definitely need a starter and/or a side dish for a full meal. One rice doesn’t really feed two people. So be ready to order more food! But, the food is fresh and never feels like it has been sitting around all evening. The spices are cooked through and not raw and brutal. It’s good food. Just a little small.

We love it here. A spectacular venue with fabulous food. Abdul is a wonderful host. Highly recommend.

Sorry to have to write this but Simla in Paddock Wood is possibly the worst Indian restaurant I have ever experienced. We ordered a Pathia which was watered down and loaded with coconut. This is NOT what Pathia should be. Also, the chicken tikka was literally chicken pieces covered in curry powder and deep fried. It wasn’t tikka AT ALL! The rice was quite clearly made in a rice cooker and wasn’t pilau in any shape or form. Then there’s the naan bread. This was ok on the outside., nice and charred. But the centre was actually raw and soggy. Sorry hit this place has no right to call itself an Indian restaurant. Do yourself a favour and skip this one.

Part of our order was missing. Food was watery and we actually did a covid test afterwards as it had no taste and we thought it was us. Upset stomach for days afterwards

First time placing an order here and we (three of us) found our curries bland and soggy. The poppadoms had more flavour! So disappointing.

Went there last Friday with family and my babies. Received excellent service as always, food was hot and fresh, and prices were very fair. Love supporting our local businesses and have always enjoyed every visit here.

We have order from Simla before and found there food completely amazing they are happy to adapte there dishes for people like my partner who isn't overly keen on hot and spicy foods, today we were able to dine in with Simla and again there food did not disappoint they are extremely polite and have amazing customer service. I have eaten a lots of Indian Cuisnes and Simla is by far the best. I would highly recommend them to everybody. Thank you to the Simla staff for an amazing experience.

Walked in ordered takeaway, friendly staff and quick service. I could tell from the moment I smelt the food it was going to be tasty from nann to chicken tikka masala all is as you would expect. Minor thing was the mango sauce for poppadoms wasn't to my taste but otherwise a happy customer.

We have lived locally to Simla Cuisine for many years and have always enjoyed a good meal whether it be as a couple or with friends and family. And of course takeaway. The food is good and good value for money. The staff are efficient and polite

Very quick & efficient service to table & starters. Polite staff & most importantly, the food was delicious. The vegetarian option I was told, was very well cooked & tasty. A nice evening.

Have been here for 25 years and this establishment has never let me down. Tasteful food, exquisite service and always leaving feeling full and happy. The menu is full of variety with every appetite being satisfied and fulfilled!

First time here, best curry I’ve ever had . I recommend to everyone

Been coming here to eat, sporadically, for the last 20 years, though not for a while. Decided to visit again, for a takeaway. Wanted to order two lamb dishes and asked on arrival if the lamb was tender or if I should order chicken, I was assured it was tender. Well what a disappointment. Both lamb dishes were very fatty, my wife threw hers away. Not much taste either. The onion bhajis were small standard fare that looked and tasted like a Morrisons or ASDA offering. Surely not freshly homemade. The sag aloo was overcooked slop. Staff are nice, very pleasant beer whilst waiting, but to say the food was ordinary would be generous, especially when there are much better Indian restaurants not far away. Last visit here.

I’ve just had a first class meal at Simla with my son. We have often visited as a family and keep doing so because the food is very good and fresh, with an excellent wide choice including Bangladeshi dishes. it’s friendly and clean, with quick, attentive service,and not expensive. I’ve never had a disappointing meal there.You can easily pop in for a quick light meal, or something much more grand. No need to stand on ceremony. The staff, led by Abdul the very genial boss, look after you well on special occasions, like birthdays, too. It also works well for takeaways. A fine place, part of the community in the centre of Paddock Wood, opposite Waitrose and the station.

Really good value considering what you pay in Tunbridge Wells or even Tonbridge, curry itself was good although i'd definitely request an extra 'kick' if you want something hot.
