Kaspas in Dover

Very poor service. Staff lack any interest in making your visit a pleasurable experience in what is a ‘treat’ choice of restaurant. Food we received was ok but very small portions of ice cream on the waffles so very dry to eat. Drinks ordered were wrong and they didn’t bring cake we’d ordered (no idea if we’d actually paid for it as no receipt offered or given ). Not been for a while, obviously a change of staff/management since our last visit. Probably won’t be returning.

We both had waffles and they came cold and tasted stale. Not freshly cooked there and then for sure. Also the cashier behaved really irrationally regarding my blue light card (BLC). I gave my Husband my BLC and my driver’s licence as I have been asked for it by the cashier in there before. I mean who has to give their driver’s license to order a waffle?! Anyway I did without prompting from her due to my previous experiences there. Despite this, she would not put the order through with my husband. She literally made him call me up and I had to pay for it! I even told her it was the same bloody bank account as we’re married and she still made me put the transaction through. No need for it. Completely unnecessary and really pissed me off.

Must have been the ompalumpas who stole my chocolate bec when I revived my desert there was no chocolate there. I didn’t realise there was a chocolate shortage

We thought we would pop here for a treat for my children. I wish I hadn't.... I ordered the smores desert... it was very dry, very lacking in chocolate! I asked if I could have more chocolate, but i was told I couldn't as that's the recipe... They couldn't give a monkies. such poor customer service. Wish I hadn't paid because £10 for that desert and the service is shocking. Won't be reccomending kaspas to anyone in the near future

Ice cream melted. Drinks didn’t come until 2 when I only ordered coffee and coke. Staff walked to away filling there water bottles instead of making my coffee and coke

Big emu and my children loved it. Not really my cup of tea as not a fan of ice cream but can see why it’s an attraction to kids.

What an awful place! This is the first time I have been back here since the takeover of staff, and I can just say I won’t be returning. It was my daughters birthday so I asked if I could have a table of 2 for them and a table for the rest of us (4) the huff was unreal! It was obviously a massive issue. We went up to order and they were rude! Not even a single hello or anything. Went to order a crepe and I got “the machines broken” no sorry just abrupt. Then a lady came over to the table to collect the menus “can I have those” she said to my son who at the age of 12 was shocked of her rudeness… they then stood behind the counter just giving us filthy looks the whole time of being there, another lady walking round looking like she just didn’t want to be there clearing the tables…. After spending 65 quid we ate and left after a non enjoyable birthday treat for my daughter… had I read previous reviews i wouldnt have bothered! NEVER AGAIN

I am a Guide Dog owner and went in there with my guide dog and a friend. On entering I was told in aavery abrupt manner "no dog", I explained that she was a guide dog and as an assistance dog was exempt from environmental health regulations and the DDA stated that assistance dogs should be allowed into all premises. The staff member went away to check with mangement and reluctantly let us n. Once there the food was very nice.

Ordered a take out for family, banoffee waffle £9.80 - what did we get 1 banana thrown on the waffle drenched in what can only be described as ice cream syrup topping that was inedible - so for £9.80 you get a waffle, 1 banana and inedible sauce that is it, no cream no ice cream no nothing else - save your hard earned money and go elsewhere - as this was the biggest disappointment ever! Standards set by greedy owners and underpaid staff that’s all I can say. VILE food, presentation and greed.

I have to say the worst service I have seen in a long time not only were there nine people Behind the Counter and/or working it took almost 40 minutes to receive two ice creams nobody Behind the Counter paid any attention to the customers there was no as such customer service I even saw three people just having a good old chin wag and what look like the shift leader and/or manager just on his phone looking at reels while they were customers waiting in all honesty disgraceful

We went the Dover Kaspa’s at 8.15pm on the 23/08/2023 no complaints about the food, but very hot inside air-conditioning turned off, ice cream started melting straight away, half the seating was shut off and toilet’s were closed, New manager desperately needed.

We walked in and was greeted by a waitress who seated us but she didn’t say much. After we were seated about 10 staff all came running out to get a new fridge/freezer that was being delivered. We chose what we wanted on the menu then another group walked in an older lady began shouting at them that they were closed for half an hour and come back if you want. We then thought oh ok and sat and waited they all continued to try and get this appliance of the delivery pallet. A waitress then came over and said we’re closed come back in an hour!!! After me saying we had been seated and does it take that amount of staff to sort that could someone not serve us we were happy to sit and wait! She then went to another table who said the same thing. After the rude atmosphere we decided to leave and go somewhere else! As they weren’t wanting anyone in there! The amount of staff I’m sure atleast one could of taken our order atleast and given us drinks while we waited! Very rude won’t return

Ordered online with just eat, and yet again there was something missing. Phoned the shop and they insisted that it had all been handed to the driver - so tough. They refused to get the driver to come back, and were very rude. Bearing in mind we were spending £50 on just 6 desserts - I would’ve expected slightly better. Won’t be using again.

Absolutely disgusting rip off. Tiny portions of tasteless pretty coloured ice cream. Insane prices. Bad quality. Spent several minutes trying to explain to the lady manager that I wanted to choose a crepe + 2 scoops. Eventually this apparently meant buying 2 x separate items at 2 x separate prices. Essentially 2 x desserts. Banana / Berries turned out to be perhaps 8 banana slices & 2 or 3 sliced strawberries. We were not informed that the place was closing until after we had ordered. We added a large milkshake which totalled £18 - an extortionate price to begin with. We sat down & shortly afterwards were presented with our items in bags to go. We had of course intended & been led to understand that we would sit at a table to eat & drink. Surprised we picked up our items & when I looked in the paper bag I assumed that there was one of the 2 scoop’s missing & was shocked that the scoop in the small plastic cup was so small. I unpacked the bag which included another small cup with a squirt of whipped cream in it bizarrely & asked was there the 2nd scoop that I’d paid for. From the apologetic sheepish expressions on the faces of the staff I realised that the small cup actually contained 2 very small scoops of ice cream pushed into it. We found it beyond belief that this little cup with 2 tiny portions was almost SIX POUNDS!! When I showed my disbelief the lady just simply laughed nervously, clearly embarrassed. She clearly understood that to portions were ridiculously small. I angrily told her I would NEVER come to Kaspa’s ever again & left. Got to the car & of course we had been given no spoons & no napkins. How is one supposed to eat ice cream, however small the portions are, without a spoon?? Incredible. A really bad experience which ruined our evening. Go across the street to the Cineworld / Vue Cinema for cheaper, far better quality & perhaps 4 x larger proper sized scoops.

Excellent first visit to Kaspa’s Dover. Friendly staff. Clean booths and tables. The service was great and the amazing selection of cakes, milkshakes, crepes, waffles, cones and much more. I could easily have eaten a second dessert as the first was amazing.

The service was terrible and it took 25 minutes to even get our food and it came about 20 minuets apart Appalling 👎

I took my daughter and friends here for her 8th birthday. They were very excited. The staff that worked in there are lovely but the management was awful. So grumpy, uninterested and lack of any people skills . Snappy when taking orders. I will not be returning in a hurry. What used to be a lovely place to visit has definitely gone down hill .

It is abundantly clear that since the takeover of new owners and the manager leaving that this store has gone drastically downhill. The treatment of staff is awful, I wouldn’t wish working here on my worst enemy. When I visited the Dover Kaspa’s branch at the beginning of December, a young employee tried to let the older women and man that were both not in their uniform know that they had made a mistake with an order (which turned out to be mine!) and they literally shouted in her face telling her to not correct them because it’s their business and they know what their doing… but the young lady was right and they had indeed made not just one but two errors with my order, to which the woman not in uniform laughed in my face!! and outright told me I was the one that was wrong, despite what it reads on the menu, when I told her that there was indeed an error and the young lady was correct. The older women and man then spent the rest of the time I was there walking around on the floor and behind the counter texting and calling on their phones! How unprofessional! I decided that that may have just been a one off day and to give this store another chance, so headed back a few weeks later. Why, I will never know!!! There were even more new members of staff, who again, ignored the more experienced members of staff, despite them offering their help. I spoke to these staff members and asked why the other young lady was ignoring them, and they told me that they had apparently already received training in the Canterbury store, despite making orders wrong again!! (Looks like I’ll be steering clear of the Canterbury store too!). They also said that the owners had just been getting rid of all the old employees despite it breaching their contracts because ‘they did not like them and wanted to bring in who they wanted’, and at least 4 other members of staff who have always made my experience here incredibly enjoyable and gone above and beyond for me, had been fired for completely made up reasons! The new owners clearly do not know how to run a business (I have had experience myself for over 10 years, and treating your employees so poorly is not how it should be done!!). Not to mention how negatively this has been affecting their business and customer service too! The young members of staff are simply trying to make some money yet are met with this treatment by the owners who seem to only care about money and not the experience of both customers and staff. Kaspa’s used to be one of my favourite places to go with both family and friends. It has ridiculously gone downhill in the last month or two and I drastically recommend not giving these people your hard earned money! The old Manager Lucy and all the staff have always been a blessing but there’s no wonder barely any of them work there or no longer want to work there anymore with the treatment they receive. I will never step foot in this establishment again, and I urge others to do the same - places that blatantly mistreat and abuse their staff should not be supported and kept in business!

I ate here at the weekend. The food and service was up to standard, but when I was ordering and looked behind the counter it was filthy. I understand it cannot be squeaky clean but this was too much. I urge management to do a spot check on regular occasions. All the staff are really young. Maybe this is the issue and not the correct guidence. Shame really

We ate here in July 2019. The whole place was really busy and rushed (because I guess it is sited next to the Premier Inn). The table had to be cleaned and I wasn't impressed with my dessert when it arrived. The whole place looked like it needed a good clean which was a shame. It's not up to the usual standard of Kaspas, maybe it will improve, but I couldn't recommend it.

Good quality desserts , perfectly presented and friendly staff . Service was quick and efficient . Taste was lovely too. Don't eat a if meal before you go or you will have leftovers. They do provide boxes for leftovers .

I took my family here because we love Kaspas & always go there for a treat, usually to the one in Ashford which has always been great. I tried to order a brownie waffle but was told I couldn't have it as they ran out of brownies, that's fine but the staff member wasn't exactly friendly about it. Then we waited quite a while for our desserts, the waffles were cold & chewy, this is not usually the case & was of a poor standard, it wasn't even busy so I'm not sure why it took so long & then came out stone cold. One of my kids didn't care & wanted to eat it so she didn't have to wait but my eldest said hers wasn't very nice, I politely explained to staff what the problem was & she just stared at me for a while & said so what do you want then, I felt a bit awkward & kept apologising as I said I'd like a new one please. The staff member snatched the plate from me without saying a word & I could literally hear her moaning about me to other staff members, so so rude. No apology, no manors at all, when the new one was ready it just got dumped in our table without a word & she seemed really annoyed, I can't understand why, I couldn't have been any nicer about it. My crepe was really thick, very chewy & cold & was sort of dumped on the plate in a mess with everything piled on one part of it, i didn't eat it all because it wasn't pleasant but I wasn't prepared to complain again so I said nothing, I regret that. I was tempted to complain to a manager but the staff were so frosty & hostile I actually felt embarrassed to say anything. This is the only Kaspas I've ever been to that has served unpleasant food, I've been many many times & never had this experience. I think the staff need some training on how to cook the food & how to speak to people.

Have now visited Kaspas in Dover on four occasions. Same experience - food is great but the service and overall customer experience are poor. The staff appear very casual and take an age to serve the food. This can only be down to poor training and / or poor management

This has to be the worst place I have eaten in all the tables were still dirty with used plates etc even though the place was nearly empty took us ages to get seated all the serving counters were dirty so were the glasses and cutlery even the baby seats hadn't been constructed correctly definitely not recommended

My family and I visited yesterday evening, we was greeted politely but a gentleman and was told to sit anywhere, unfortunately that was the only good thing, staff was chatting, singing and dancing behind the counter, other consumers was waiting to be seated and waiting for their orders. The restaurant even though a new place in Dover looked unclean and unkept. We waited 25 minutes for two waffles and one crepe which arrived cold. The staff apart from the man was completely unprofessional, the food was cold and presentation was messy. I will not be going there again.

Visited with my sister and have to say from the second we walked in it was fab! Acknowledged straight away, no pressure to sit somewhere we feel uncomfortable as we could sit where we liked. Ordered at the till, greeted by a smile and felt like nothing was too much, can swap and change what we liked (she’s a fussy one.) Think her name was Taylor and her service was brilliant, chatty and approachable. Table’s were cleaned and everything was tidy, was a bit of a rush but the food came out timely. Cooked to perfection and tasted amazing, we love coming to Kaspa’s for that little treat and it was just that. Been craving a waffle for what seems like a lifetime and today definitely hit the spot! Will definitely be returning.

The only place my son wanted to go for his 18th. Tried to put 7 of us in a 6 man booth when the place was more than half empty. Wrong orders, meagre toppings, mediocre customer service, Won't be going back

Unhappy. We ordered two double scoop ice creams, waited 10 minutes for anyone to serve us to begin with even though the staff had clearly noticed we were there, then when we eventually were served our ice creams the scoops were appallingly small and when we asked whether the scoop should be bigger we were rudely answered a simple ‘no’. Very rude staff and poor customer service.

Service was very poor, new I was waiting but not acknowledged. Had to wait while they finished conversation. Music was so loud l needed to switch my hearing aids off. When our crêpes arrived they were chewy and barely edible. Will not be going back, nor recommending to others.

.. of the dessert variety, a little expensive . 2 tips: NHS staff get 10% discount & if you order a main, you get a hot drink for £1.00. These are not advertised but are on the website. Loved the strawberry crepe!

First visit to the new Dover restaurant, we were really excited and ordered a Banoffee Waffle, Latte and a scoop of cherry ice cream. We ordered at 18:10 and the waffle arrived half an hour later (not very busy) and the latte arrived just after. We did not get any knives or forks so my son had to go in search of them before he could eat his waffle. I was still waiting for my ice cream so mentioned it to a member of staff and he said he would get it made straight away. We were still waiting 10 minutes later so I went back up to the counter and said we couldn’t wait any longer so could we get a refund. Tasty waffle and coffee but awful customer care. Such a shame. I understand that that had issues today with the card machine and were only accepting cash and they said they had not had a good day but still very sad they couldn’t serve one scoop of cherry ice cream in an hour. Won’t be hurrying back.

Oh dear, went to eat there for first, and last time. Queue out the door...we waited, and waited. There were booths empty and tables empty. Staff were not rushing to seat people. Eventually got a booth. No menu given to us or cutlery. We had to go and find our own. Food okay but they had run out of certain drinks...when you have 3 choices of a type of drink but they only have one flavour left! Plus one of the toilets was clearly leaking. Just felt like staff too young and unsupervised.

Nice looking place and great colour scheme but unfortunately my crepes were quite tough, the cream, ice cream, strawberry’s and chocolate sauce was all good tho. I will certainly give it another try.

I was excited when I found out that kaspas has finally arrived to Dover, Expecting to be amazed I was amazed by disappointment. There is no host.. so you are waiting to be seated for about 10 mins. When we finally got seated we took a moment to browse through the menu before ordering. I noticed that the staff looked really stressed and put out. Customers are obviously not an priority here. The whole layout is disorganised and training for staff is needed. When the desserts arrived, I was shocked with the presentation of both Sundaes, they looked flat and not how they are advertised on the menu. My boyfriend sundae had more whipped cream than ice cream it looked like a bowl of soup. The ice cream itself was tasteless. And for that price it is daylight robbery. I don’t believe that the reviews on here are genuine either. So don’t be fooled.

On arrival staff were very attentive and sat us down very quickly even though the restaurant was very busy. Our desserts arrived within 10 minutes of ordering and were absolutely delicious. We will definitely be returning soon. Lovely family treat!

My boys and I love Kaspas. We had a wonderful afternoon and the best desserts. It was very busy, all staff where working very hard. We only waited 5 min and our dessert was served.

Came here with my partner for the first time and weren't disappointed. He had the oreo crunch waffle and I had the kinder bueno one. Both extremely tasty. Can't wait to come back for a treat with our little boy.

My kids love Kespa's, who's wouldn't. This was our second visit to the new Dover store. It wasn't particularly busy with empty tables but the staff seemed to still be struggling to keep on top of things with a very long counter queue and fair wait for service after finally ordering. The food came out via three different members of staff over 5+mins, so everyone had to start eating at a different time to save ice-cream from melting. That said other than one member of staff who almost threw the plate of waffles on to the table as she ran off, desperate to get everything done, all the other staff were polite and eager to please. However the friendly staff missed the mark slightly, clearly due to lack of experience or confidence in dealing with a growing number of customers. Kaspa's is a great addition to Dover and we will continue to visit, hopefully it will find its feet and be 'great'. Still loving the hot drink for £1 promotion.

Went here for the first time with my eldest son as a treat after a day of shopping. We were greeted and shown to seats pretty much on arrival and we were given menus and cutlery and told how to order. We both had crepes, i had the Belgian milk chocolate and he had the salted caramel, both came with either cream or ice cream so we chose the ice cream. The service was quick and the desserts were delicious. The staff were all lovely and polite and it was lovely and clean inside. We enjoyed our desserts and had no issues at all. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Ordered New York cheesecake, but they didn’t have any. My second choice was strawberry waffle with ice cream. It was delicious and rather filling. Hubby ordered peppermint ice cream sundae. He ate it all, but said the mint at the bottom was overpowering. He also said it was a delicious sundae. Nice place to visit if you want to treat yourself to something nice. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Dont really get the excitement. And £30 for desert for 4 is robbery. Should at least be able to get table service for that. But instead have to queue for ages.

I have very recently had my very first kaspas, wondering what all the fuss is about? I can understand why there busy! Totally amazing food. My waffle couldn't of been better and I take my hat off the stuff in there. Working under pressure but giving there 100% could not of felt more valued. I highly recommend.

So so good, expected to have to wait as it has recently opened and so quite busy but was pleasantly surprised, got seated very quickly, staff were lovely and food came within 5 minutes!!
