Costa Coffee in Dover

On 17/1/24 around 23:00pm bought coffee. Very bad service. The lady was rude and I felt like I was not welcomed. She even said something once turned her back when asked her politely if she could wash my Costa cup which i bought earlier today from an other Costa coffee before refilling it with coffee.

This place is an amazing place to get your work done I've been here two days in a row and sat in the same spot as yesterday the staff are really nice and welcoming and even apologized for the wait ( I was waiting for 2 to 5 minutes maximum) which I believe in most costas I have been to is the quickest service I have had the food and drinks are amazing and can not wait to try more I will be coming back almost every day after collage when i am waiting for time to get closer to the time i work and i recommend this Costa to anyone who wants to get work done and try delicious drinks or food

I can’t rate the drink as we had to leave before being served We just wasted 31min queuing to pay and queuing for coffee that never came. Despite having 3 staff behind the counter. Eventually had to leave without drinks that we paid for as our ferry was boarding :(

Friendly staff who couldn't do anything more for me. Was served quickly and had time to sit down whilst waiting for my ferry.

Need to learn how to make a cup of tea, put far too much milk in end up with a cup of hot milk, please ask customer how much milk they want.

The place is very nice, the coffee is good.

You couldn't make it up. A que of 13 people including myself. When one of the customers politely asked if she could be served, having waited for 10 mins now (yes I know I timed it) the customer was told, "you can all wait until I'm done what I'm doing. There's a machine in WH Smiths if you're that desperate. Why on earth be in a job if you are that unhappy with it you take pleasure in watching a que form and purposely go about your "other business". I might add the other business included her checking get phone numerous times. Miserable, rude and just not a nice person. I'm all for "if you've got nothing good to say, say nothing at all' but the lady on the counter has managed, on her own, to pxxs of a group of people who just wanted coffee. Costa coffee, train your staff properly please!!

Really bad service (personnel seems overwhelmed) , only 1 person ensures the service after 10pm.

It's 4.30am so you can expect people to be a little weary but I didn't order a side of miserable with my coffee. Coffee usual Costa standard but the prickly woman behind the counter definitely not.

Early morning breakfast whilst waiting to board the ferry was perfect! Hot food and cold weather. Friendly staff, efficient service.

Soooooo sloooooow… useful if one wants to kill time until ferry departure by queuing.

Had a few minutes to spare at the port so we wandered over to the terminal. Fairly bleak place at 8.00 in the morning and so opted for the ‘least’ looking bleak option …Costa Coffee. In the same way that one would summon a genie from a lamp (not) we reluctantly pressed a well used buzzer on the counter and, hey presto, our barista appeared! This one however wasn’t about to grant us three wishes and the promise of eternal bliss, this one was clearly miffed she’d be interrupted mid gossip with her colleague and deigned to ask us what we wanted. We opted for two flat whites for the total cost of 7.90. What? That’ll be 7.90!!! We sat and enjoyed our tasty beverages in the Costa (plenty) Coffee seating area together with the other non Costa Coffee Dover port staff who were clearly waiting to start their shift. I’ve never seen so many hi-viz boiler suits in one place since the apocalyptic closing scenes of Live and Let Die. Avoid 😀

Cup of coffee and a fossilized roll £8.80 bargain!

I visited the costa on the 12th of November and was treated with the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. My friend who is white (I am British Indian) was given great customer service straight after me and was addressed with “what can I get you love” & was spoken to with a soft and kind tone, which was the complete opposite to my treatment. We both ordered hot drinks & she had double cupped his as they were out of cup holder/sleeves and explained this to him. I was served first and wasn’t offered one or even informed of this. The baristas behaviour had switched from atrocious to great within seconds. As someone who works in customer service I was absolutely disgusted with how I was treated. My friend was even more furious and was the one who had addressed the racial discrimination with myself and proposed that he would say something. I had instructed him not to do so as I wanted to get in contact with Costa & Moto. After informing them of the situation they had proceeded to investigate which concluded with insufficient evidence & dialogue with other members of staff, even though she was the only barista working. I’m disgusted that this has happened and even more furious that both Costa and Moto have treated the situation in such a blasé manor. I’ve always been a regular Costa customer but after experiencing racism and injustice I’ll be sure to never spend a penny there again.

I can’t recommend this place for a drink. Walked up to the counter and stood in front of two staff who were too interest in discussing something on a paper in front of them. After waiting a couple of minutes with no signs they were going to involved in anything like serving us, the only customers, we decided to return to the car and wait until boarding our ferry to get a hot drink.

First and last visit to a Costa. Admittedly sweet food and drink isnt really my thing but the only alternative was a burgar king. The ashtrays are extraordinary. I can't believe someone actually designed the twisted metal square that was physically attached to the table and contained an impressive collection of cigarette ends. I tried McDonald's once too ( in the 1970s) .....

Please offer gluten-free sandwiches or salad options. M&S do a good egg and cress GF sarnie you could offer.

When waiting for our ferry we walked over to the Food Village for a coffee. Happy to see that Costa Coffee teamed up with Marks & Spencer and had a small selection of food on offer. The outside viewing deck with plently of shade, overlooking the harbour was a great spot to wait until we were ready to board.

On our holiday to France we though we will have a little bite at Costa. But I wish we didn’t as it ruined our holiday mode completely! Once arrived at the cashier not very nice (Eastern European) women start serving us with a big attitude and smart answers! Once we paid and waited for our coffees to be made we heard her telling not very nice things to her colleague about us! Very disappointed with the services!!

Typically awful flat white, even at desperate times when travelling home from holiday. Why do they make them so big and with cheap long life milk?

Efficient and pleasant service, albeit it very much out of season. Nothing really to complain about other than all the facilities in the complex are a little tired and, in truth, I don't think I'd like to experience it when it's heaving..... All in all, staff pleasant, coffee good, prices.. well, what did you expect?

We took their ethiopian blend and it was very good worth asking for if they have it available. The ladies were lovely and friendly as well.

Went here at 2 am on a Friday just before we got on the ferry to France, really needed the coffee. But the unfortunately the place hadn’t enough staff at the given time of day so we had to wait for a while.

not very fast service at all as there was only 1 person serving. he did his best and the coffee was good.

It was the first P&O sailing of the day on a Sunday, but Costa was still fairly busy with relatively long queues. The one person who was dealing with orders, taking money and serving drinks did a great job, but there really needed to be more staff rostered on, as a number of people behind us decided the queue was too long and turned away to look for something else.

This Costa is in the main terminal with all the other shops. Service was quick and and the staff were friendly. Food that is served here looks quite good though we didn't eat on the occasion

Overpriced watery coffee. Slow staff with a "couldn't care less" attitude. I wouldn't visit this particular Costa even if the coffee was for free. take my advice and give this place the heave ho!

Ok usual standard of food and drink which we find very acceptable- not least because you know what you are getting.However on arriving at docks only one, yes ONE lady was on duty- both taking the money and making the drinks.One member of staff + coaches = very long queue.Premises were clean and tidy.

Coffee and tea OK, when they got the order right ! Slowest Costa I have ever been to. The pastries were stale clearly old, service was unfriendly not a nice atmosphere here. Won't bother again.

Had a 40 minute wait for a ferry, by the time we finally got our coffee, we had to dash back to the car. Lady on till was ok, but the other lady was just pure rude. Couple that with absolutely no apology for the ridiculous time it took just to get a coffee, all together makes for a pretty frustrating experience!! The worrying thing is, it wasn’t even a very big que, maybe 5 people in front of us, dread to think how long it would take if there had of been anymore!! I’d just go and get one out of the machine in WHSmith next time!!

Met a couple of friends here for hot drinks. Service was good but a bit slow. Served in hot cups/glasses which were warmed beforehand (unlike previous review said they failed to do with theirs). Was all clean and perfectly acceptable.

Another visit here always seems to be open fairly quick service has festive treats now just what is needed to start the day.

We've used this place twice recently, and have found it poor.

Had to wait a while for ferry so popped in for a coffee first coffee and cake all good and fresh quick service.
