Came to dinner with my wife, girl running the restaurant with long brown hair was efficient, wonderful and nothing was too much for her. All staff had smiles all round. Was a really well run restaurant and will definitely be back for the excellent service.

Popped in for a pub lunch meeting to find the Hotel is in the middle of building works. The Restruant bar was not serving drinks due to an upcoming private function we were told. The tables all had dirty plates and cups on them and needed cleaning. Just felt as if the whole place has gone downhill.

We stayed at the hotel as part of a spa package for one night and dinner was included in the package. The food was very good and enjoyed by both of us. Staff were plesent and helpful and would come back to the hotel again.

Arrived a Thursday had evening meal Angies night off and service not good but food was lovely , Friday fantastic service and Angie so helpful and we both had special which was Lamb which was superb. Starter ham hock terrains was excellent. breakfast good with plenty of choice.

Standard of food and service excellent even though the menu is smaller now. We have been many times and it’s still as good

The restaurant provides a reasonable menu that accommodates most palates. Reasonably priced. The food is excellently prepared and presented. The service is relaxed, yet attentive. Very nice ambience as a result. Ate on two occasions and impressed by the Manageress remembering the name, which shows their attentiveness.

Honestly, Charlotte, the sommelier and Angie, the waitress made us an unforgettable dinner during our hotel stay. The food was amazing as well thanks to the professional chef and kitchen staff, and served by professionals who are lovely and knowledgeable like Angie and Charlotte is an invaluable experience. Thanks for that!

This resturaunt deserves more than 5 stars.More like 10/10. My partner and I came in this restaurant for 3 nights. I am visually impaired and a lovely lady called Angie took us under her wing for these three nights. She made sure that things were accessible to me and once when my food came out on a long platter she got a plate and put it on that which was a lot easier to deal with. I got to look forward to dinner time so I could chat to angie. On the last day she checked to see if there was anything left over for pudding from a function that happened the night before. I was in luck and that night I had 3 scoops of strawberry icecream instead of vanilla with my waffles. All the food was cooked to perfection and I really enjoyed my time going to resturant. Thanks Angie you are a superstar. Xx

visited with family for birthday meal, right from the start to the very last our waitress Taylor was amazing. very welcoming and accommodating. other waiting staff too were very efficient. Sadly bench seating was very scruffy and dirty. The food was very average and not what I would have expected given the prices. chips served with top priced steak tasted like they had been warmed up from previous service hence were not eaten. would not visit here again for special occasion owing to the food.

Ate here when we stayed for one night. As a family with 3 young children it’s always a risk eating out but our waitress Angie couldn’t have been nicer. She remembered all the children’s names and took care of my Mum’s gluten intolerance by recommending particular dishes which were all delicious! Kids had a great time as did the adults. Reasonably priced and really good food. Speedy food service but the bar was very slow. Initial mix up with our reservation was swiftly dealt with by the Maître d’ and we were seated within 10 minutes. Overall a pleasant dining experience!

Wir sind zu viert im Restaurant Horizon um 18.30 aufgetaucht und konnten unseren Tisch am Fenster aussuchen. Charlotte hat unsere Bestellungen aufgenommen. Die Karte ist nicht so wahnsinnig gross, aber speziell - etwas für jeden. Wir hatten Crevetten-Avocado-Cocktail und eine soup of the day, Gemüsesuppe. Schon da - und später bei den Saucen zum Rib Eye - ist mir aufgefallen, dass alles selbstgemacht ist. Das schmeckt man. Brotkorb ist speziell vielfältig. Die Qualität vom Fleisch ist ausserordentlich und genau richtig zubereitet. Der Wein passt hervorragend, haben gute Auswahl. Das Dessert 'rhubarb crumble' macht den gebührenden Schluss. Werde wieder hierherzurückkehren. Danke Charlotte.

We married at The Ashford International Hotel in 2016 and wanted to celebrate our first anniversary here. We booked the restaurant and the food and service were both very good. We mentioned it was our anniversary and the chef did send out complimentary chocolate strawberries, which were an added little bonus :)

Attended this hotel today on a work event and lunch was included in the restaurant. I’m a vegetarian and there was an incredibly poor choice. I really fancied the starter on offer- French onion soup. I got some and sat down to tuck in. Fortunately a colleague then checked to see the stock that was used and it was a beef stock! Therefore not vegetarian at all! It didn’t say vegetarian to be fair but one would assume..... The only thing I could eat was veggie chilli , a bit of rice and salad. Sadly even the chips had fish goujons in the same tray! Come on Ashford International! This is incredibly poor! Felt very unsatisfied. Not a huge fan of veggie chilli.

Nicely laid out large restaurant with good sized tables. Set dinner and a la carte menus available. Choice was somewhat limited - it seemed strange that there was a ribeye steak but no sirloin. Short wine list at high prices. Excellent staff. The restaurant is also used for breakfast which was the usual buffet but no specials menu and -very disappointedly - no smoked salmon.

I have had the pleasure of dining in the restaurant many times before now and I have yet to have a negative comment to say about any off the food or that off the service! The quality of the food is simply 1st class; the freshness of the ingredients to the way the dishes are displayed along with the great flavours of the meals were just fantastic. So a “Thank you” to everyone mentioned below, as they all work incredibly well as a team and the effort put into the restaurant service and the skill involved in preparing and cooking the food is just exceptional... The food arrived before the wine. The wine glasses were dirty. One steak was overcooked, as well as the lamb. One side was not what we ordered. Do you need more to give this place 1 star?

Tuvimos una excelente comida del menú del día sábado por la noche cuando el hotel estaba muy lleno con tres solteras y muchos otros grupos. El servicio fue impecable, el personal era atento y amable e incluso cantaron feliz cumpleaños cuando me trajo mi pastel y me mantenían mi tarta en la nevera hasta que me fui a casa al día siguiente. Una velada para recordar.

Este es un hotel 4 estrellas, pero no creo que la calidad de la comida o el servicio se corresponde dicha norma. Habiendo dicho que 2 personas pueden comer 3 platos con vino por alrededor de £60, así que los precios eran muy razonables para lo que ofrecen. Y si se aloja en el hotel puedes conseguir una oferta que incluye cena por un precio razonable. Necesitan mirar en sus niveles de personal y capacitación.

We are members of the QHotels Breakaway Club so have stayed at quite a few of their hotels. We have never stayed at the International in Ashford as we only live 5 miles away but are members of the gym there. We have always thought...

Food was lovely but the service was slow, during our last evening staying at the hotel we were shown to our table and left. 20 minutes went past and no one had come to take our order whilst people around us were ordering their meals...

the set menu in the evening was very good and enjoyed this. the next day breakfast ok the Christmas lunch...

En realidad bastante decepcionado con mi última visita. Tuvimos una cena de Navidad (la semana antes de Navidad) y realmente dejaba mucho que desear. Por £43 me esperaba mucho más y no me quería ir con hambre, pero lo hice. Mi amigo pidió un rollo extra de pan y me dijeron, todos los huéspedes estaban limitados a sólo uno por persona.

We were on a food package with our Spa weekend and both the Lunch and Dinner were amazing and the service friendly and efficient

As this restaurant was fully booked at our first night at the hotel, we had high expectations going in there.We had some pretty good food and had a nice eveningHad some good South African wine, from a vineyard where we stayed before, so that was an extra touch. :o)

We had a 'light' lunch (buffet style), £28 towards an evening meal (served) and breakfast (buffet style) as part of our package. The food was good quality, hot and there was a lot of choice. The £28 towards dinner was enough to buy a starter and main, or main and dessert, however the very last page of the menu gives a value 3 courses for the £28 (we didn't notice that until we had ordered). Wine is 'reasonably' priced for a hotel (obviously a lot more than you would pay in a supermarket). For example £23 for a bottle of Zinfandel.

If you are staying in the hotel and do not want to drive to the town it is the only choice you have. Have been dining hier on many occasions while on business. Food is average at most, portions are on small side. Fish dishes are overcooked and dry with no crisp at all. Meat dishes are simply put not tasty, lacking seasoning and chewy.I have this impression that cook uses water instead of butter or maybe he just doesn't know the difference.The restaurant has good wine selection and staff is very, very friendly. It's pity that they have to face the customer with such mediocre food.

Great staff and lovely meal. Our waitress was such a nice lady. Two of us had the fish for our main course and it was very tasty and beautifully prepared

We were staying in the hotel so booked a table as the restaurant was very busy. We opted for the a la carte, there is a set price menu but nothing appealed to us. We ordered a bottle of rosé which was very good, pricey at £31.My friend had tomato soup tasted home made, I had goats cheese, both were nice. I had the minute steak which said came with Caesars salad it was a lettuce leaf with dressing on it? The fries were good. My friend had risotto which was excellent coming with Parmesan crisp and a perfectly poached egg.Pudding was not so good, the banana parfait and the baileys cheesecake were tasteless. Shame as the starter and main course were good.We had breakfast there it was a mediocre buffet with little choice of non fried foods. The toaster was a disaster and no one helped when my friend set it on fire, it chewed up her piece of bread.

My wife and I enjoyed a very good meal here on Friday night. The menu has a good choice of dishes on to suit most appetites at reasonable prices and a good ambience about the place. Could not fault the food one bit and the friendly service from everyone made for a very nice evening.

Myself and two friends stayed in the hotel for 2 nights on a spa package and used the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We found the food delicious, especially dinner.

Had fabulous Afternoon Tea at Ashford International Hotel. Went there with 19 family and friends to celebrate my birthday. Was offered the Horizon Bar for the party. The staff prepared the room using decorations I dropped in the day before. On three tables covered in white cloths a large selection of sandwiches, scones with jam and cream were laid. Also added were a different a ray of cakes - different types on different tables. This helped guests mingle to see what was on offer on each table. Pots of tea were provided and refills provided upon request. The staff were attentive, friendly and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. Really made a day to remember.

Well recommended to eat when staying at Ashford International Hotel. Rib eye steak very tasty with good service

Excellant break and good time to relax and enjoy good food and peace. Lovely bar and my Partner joined ,w and had lunch before I left. I will visit again.

Cuisine de base, qui se prétend haut de gamme! Limite cafétéria. Cher pour la prestation! Juste à coté, allez chez Harvester Grill, aussi bon, moins cher. Sinon le Old Mill restaurant: très bon dans un cadre très sympa. Je recommande chaleureusement!

Fresh, hot food - better than most buffet style breakfasts. Service good too, tea arrived swiftly and dirty crockery was removed promptly .... and this all despite beong very bsy. Well done.

lovely food and staff, stayed for a hotel break but lovely standalone restaurant. Had dinner, buffet breakfast and 2 course lunch here and all the food was great.

Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice across all areas, juice, cereal, cooked, cold meat and cheese through to pastries, waffles, fresh fruit and muffins. Plates were hot and toaster was reasonably quick (a first). Evening dinner was very good whether picking from the set menu or the A La Carte and at not overly expensive prices. We were there during a menu change over and could not fault the cooking, presentation or waiting staff who without exception were friendly and efficient. All in all a good experience.

Ordered the duck breast, to be served pink. Came almost well done so rejected and asked for it pink again. Next time it was pink, but just as tasteless as first time. So gave up and just ate it. Will not plan to order this again, as I don't think the chef has a clue as to how it should taste. Clearly a sub standard bird to start with, and made worse with cooking in a bland sauce which just cannot hide the facts. Hope breakfast is better tomorrow morning as I'm a bit hungry right now.

My wife and I ate here last night. We chose from the A La Carte menu. All the food was well cooked and served hot. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was not cheap, but not really overpriced either. We will choose to eat here again when going to the cinema nearby, rather than go to the Nandos or Frankie & Bennys type places nearer to the cinema. Well worth a visit!

The waitress we had was a delight. Very friendly and knowledgeable. All three courses were lovely and the cocktails great as well. Would recommend this restaurant for anyone staying in the hotel :)

We stayed in the hotel and had breakfast and our evening meal in the restaurant. Breakfast was a help yourself buffet. There was a good choice of both cold and hot food. The evening meal was lovely. Hot food and very good service. The staff were attentive and friendly. I would definitely use this restaurant again.

Myself and 3 friends attended a xmas party night on saturday night. Not a good start when my friends purse was stolen within minutes of arrival . For £36 each the food was very limited in choice with only 3 options ( given that we chose our dishes months ago ), a tasteless poor quality turkey dinner offering , the veggie option was an undercooked mushroom with a length of leek on top and butter beans and looked truly vile and uninspiring. the supposed lemon tart was a pastry case filled with what seemed to be a lemon curd type mixture and topped with grapefruit , a 5 year old cooking at school would have made a better attempt !wine was very mediocre and overpriced at £25.50 a bottle for a less than average aussie cabernet sauvignon . disco was rubbish and the place was devoid of any kind of atmosphere . To be avoided at all costs . I will never visit again

The range of food on offer was very good, however the joint of beef looked rather overcooked and that proved to be the case. The ham was equally poor as it was difficult to cut and I left most of it. The most disappointing thing however was the awful smell of my water glass. It had clearly not been washed and dried properly. A glance across to unoccupied tables near the windows revealed wine glasses, illuminated by the sunshine, with countless fingerprints on them and in one case a stain near the rim of the glass. All in all not 4 star standard by any means. The staff on the other hand were excellent, efficient, polite and courteous.

Been here a few times over the years and have only stayed overnight once in 2011. The 2010 visit we did the comedy night (which was hilarious) with dinner and a room. The room was amazing for the price we paid; a huge double bed and gorgeous room and bathroom. It was very bright and clean. I cannot fault the reception staff service, who were friendly and happy to help. The breakfast was nice as well. In 2012 we went again for the comedy night, the price was once again good but we didn't stay, and then again in 2013.All three times the comedians were extremely funny and everyone really enjoyed them. The room is well set out and everyone could see. The only thing I would say is that the drinks are extremely over-priced two: drinks can set you back £10. A pitcher of woo woo for example is £15.50. Which is excessive in my opinion. I am a vegetarian and the meal is always brilliant, much more appetizing than the normal food (my friend's opinion not mine). Excellent pudding always very tasty but very small portions. Overall the place is definitely a 9/10. Good service, place and staff.

The staff were really friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing! We stayed on a Christmas break 2012 and we had a fantastic experience. we joined the Q hotel club and have plans to make a Valentine's booking.

We arrived on a busy Tuesday. The staff were pleasant, but maybe a little overstretched. The food was good quality for the price, although it was a little expensive. Breakfast was the highlight.

Went here for a fund raiser 'Guide Dogs for the Blind' Richard and Doreen have a party every year, and everybody talk about just how good they are. So got my ticket and off I went DICKY BOW the lot!!! Thought I would feel out of place in my bow tie but no everyone was dressed up and looking very nice. The starter TOMATO and BASIL soup was OK but not much flavor. Main BREAST OF CHICKEN WITH A THYME & RED ONION SAUCE, GRATIN POTATOES, SEASONAL VEGETABLES, The chicken breast was very nice and tasted of well.... CHICKEN! There was really no taste of the THYME & RED ONION SAUCE? The GRATIN POTATOES were FANTASTIC I had hoped for roast potatoes but the GRATIN POTATOES did the trick. Now the veg, well you have always got that old chest nut VEG UNDER COOKED or OVER COOKED I like my veg a little under cooked so I was OK but there was one or two people not eating their veg. Poached pear, oatmeal crumble, cinnamon cream to finish off. Poached pear? OK I like my veg on the firm side but Poached pear should be soft!! Could have had more crumble as it was more like crumbs than crumble. Cinnamon cream was good but can you get Cinnamon cream wrong? The staff were all great very helpfull and all the food was hot.A tom bowler ran through out the night. The disco played music we all wanted to dance to form a Waltz to the 50's 60's 70's 80's party track including the March of the Mods and the Gay Gordons.....lol HAD A FANTASTIC NIGHT and raised a few pounds for 'Guide Dogs for the Blind'

Attended for a spa break with 3 friends for a birthday. We went to the bar at about 1500 hours in Saturday afternoon, we asked the batman for the cocktail menu.. He acted as though he didn't want to serve us, we had to ask twice! He THEN says that he is the day shift and the bar isn't REALLY set up for cocktails yet, but if we must have them, it would be easier if we all had the same one... A very novel approach to customer service, but in the interest of not being fussy, we agreed to have the same one. He forgot one of the drink orders and when he was merely asked if it was on the way, he replied, "if you had ordered it, I would have bought it to you." it took them an hour to get an order wrong for a jacket potato that we eventually had to send back!The ONLY reason this was a three was Angela Brown, our server in the main restaurant for dinner. She quite literally couldn't do enough for us and made my friends birthday a memorable experience. We reported the bad staff members to the manager who seemed equally appalled.Note to hotel managers, your staff are your first impression, hire them wisely! Also, give Angela a raise!

Lovely restaurant to take a business client or your spose / partner - Prices are reasonable for some very well presented and tasty dishes, dined here twice (Friday and Saturday) and had wood pigeon and scallops for starters and for main had lamb and steak. All were very well presented and delicious. If I could have one complaint it would be the starters were just a bit too small but overall good value for money.Recommend the applie pie / lemon tart for desert.

The food was great, interesting without being fussy, tasty, well presented.However despite the attentive staff in adequate numbers the place seemed disorganised. We pre-ordered all our dishes before a meeting, but despite this they came out at random times. I had finished my starter, despite waiting courteously for a few minutes, before my adjacent friend got hers...Same with the main course and dessert and coffee.The service was very slow as well. Attentive means that if sparkling water was ordered they would bring a bottle and fill your glass, (after a wait) and take the bottle away. Very happy to do this, but for me I would prefer the bottle left on the table and more focus on organisisng timing of courses delivery.Language seemed to be a barrier with some staff.We loved the food. Atmosphere was very relaxed. Probably would have offered 4 stars overall if expectations had been less. They do give the impression of trying to be very upmarket. The service needs to be tweaked.

Such a fantastic selection for lunch and breakfast and dinner excellent too. such lovely staff to serve you and so quick. Manager was lovely

we ate breakfast lunch and dinner in the restaurant over our stay. The food was yummy - especially dinner however the service was unbelievably slow when it was not a buffet sitting. it took nearly two hours to get our main courses in the evening. Having said that we were compensated for the inconvenient. Aside from that the food was delicious and reasonably priced too. The Alcohol had a nice selection but even the house wine was quite expensive.

Stylish restaurant with delicious food. Surprisingly Caesar chicken salad was the only chicken dish they had. Long list of wine. Staff is very friendly and always available.

To be honest i havnt stayed in this hotel as my partner and i only live around the corner - but i just wanted to say that this hotel has an excellent restuarant!

The restaurant is decorated in standard middle of the road business mode. The tables set well apart but the service was so bad it was almost comical. We waited for about ten minutes before anyone came to take our order and we were only asked if we'd like a drink after we already ordered the meal and the wine.The waiter apologised for the wait saying that head office has decreed that they only take an order when the customer had replaced the menu on the table, face down. Lucky then that he happened to be passing! The wine waiter then tried to suggest another wine from our choice with our meal, which appeared quite ridiculous coming from a young chap obviously straight from training. We were then told it would take several minutes for our choice of wine to be found (??) so we chose another (of course more expensive) wine.Throughout, the service was erractic and sloppy. The food was good, but charging £7 for a small starter of salad with three slices of pancetta and a poached egg is a bit steep (and we have been to The Fat Duck so we do know value for money)! My main meal of liver and bacon and my husband's of parmesan crusted sea bass was good but again, overpriced.Perhaps this restaurant is fine for travellers staying at the hotel, but for people wanting a good restaurant which is value for money, with good service and imaginative dishes, they should look elsewhere.
