Honesty Kingsclere in Basingstoke and Deane

Am in here regulary during the week as I work in the area. Service is excellent and Mel always has smile on her face. I enjoy the homely feel. I also love that I can bring my dogs here too.

We often pop in on a weekend after walking the dog for a hot beverage and cake, staff are super friendly, drinks delicious as is the cake, and the dog always get treated to a biscuit himself 😊

Lovely little coffee shop. Melanie is always helpful and chatty which makes the visit even more pleasant. Great coffee, made how you like it. Lovely selection of pastries and cakes as well as hot food option, which we have never actually tried! Dog friendly, too!

Friendly small cafe, good coffee and food. Just a suggestion, as it's small, and you're very close to your neighbours, a little piped music may help to feel you can have a conversation that everyone else isn't listening to.

Popped in with a friend whilst waiting for my daughter. Lovely slice of and large pot of tea. Extremely friendly staff. Nothing was to much trouble. Will definitely return

Very cutesy cafe with the personal touch. Good tea and coffee and excellent looking cakes. The Victoria Sponge is the highest I’ve seen for ages! Also the cake of the month which is plum cake looked excellent.

Well I don’t know what people are complain f about . We were looking for Emma’s coffee shop but this seems to be at the same address . We were actually put off by the reviews but went in anyway . Lovely sausage bap at a reasonable price and came back for cake after our walk . The girls were lovely , especially Emma who was there first of all . Was a lovely visit so ignore the bad reviews !!

Went in to use the toilet as I suffer from IBS, while I sat outside in my car on a meeting. Was intending to go in for a coffee when I had finished but got shouted at and the staff were extremely rude when I appeared to walk out without buying anything after using their toilet.

Terrible, if there was a zero button option, I would select it. Lack of selection, rude staff and just everything was too much for them.

Nice selection of cakes. Good for sitting inside and across the road in the church yard on a sunny day. Interior is well maintained with a very pleasant rustic feel. We were in a group of around 12, which seemed to faze the counter staff with coffee taking longer than we'd normally expect.

Twice I have been in and both times i’ve had trouble with my paninis. 1 times they weren’t cooked, both times I went back, and another time I was given the wrong one. The staff is lovely but I was disappointed by this.

Went in for a lunch snack just before 1pm. No savoury food left at all! It’s lunch time!! Couldn’t even offer a bit of cheese on toast! Had cake (far too sweet) and a pot of tea - which was so weak it was like hot water. The person serving did nothing but moan about her back, her feet, how tired she was, how busy she had been to anyone and everyone and making gestures of shooting herself in the head to show how stressed she was. Left quickly, won’t be going back

Friday 17th the shop exemely busy. Amy and Ellie were welcoming and very professional. Made a simple coffee and bacon roll special. The staff are an absolute credit 👏

Just visited this place. Waited 15 mins to be served (there were only 2 people in front of me). I ordered a latte for my son to take away. Had to ask for sugar, and was directed to a bowl on a table, (which presumably everyone dips their fingers into - not very sanitary in this day and age). Opened the lid of the take away cup, which spilled the coffee all over my son's arm, the staff stood by watching (not a single offer of help). I had to ask for a cloth, which was thrown on the counter. I wiped up the mess (again not single offer of help, or enquiry on whether my son's arm was burnt - it was!) I stirred the coffee with a wooden stirrer - no bin for rubbish. I suggest staff receive significant training in customer service. Also suggest they ask if someone wants sugar before placing a lid on a take away to avoid this happening to other customers. I genuinely think this is the worst service I have ever received. Avoid this place unless you have lots of time on your hands and want to be ignored by staff! Simply awful.

Not like other Honesty cafés. Arrived with 4 friends to find no sandwiches or the like. Just coffee and cake (which were fine) The server was just short of hostile. Certainly could use some customer service skills

Fantastic coffee shop. Very cosy, great coffee and food, and staff very welcoming and friendly.

We dropped in after a hike. The first thing we noticed was how clean it was and a warm feeling to the cafe. The manager was quick to service us and was really nice and friendly. She had great pride in her shop. We tried out the new Broccoli soup. Then there was short fun chat whether it was a soup or broth. So relaxed and really enjoyed it here. We also learned they had several more in the area.

This café is a delight: Tiny, with a selection of delicious cakes, great coffee and friendly service. Perfect!

The cafe needs to put on more staff over lunchtime. We waited a very long time to be served for a takeaway after being told we would "have to wait" as the lady serving was too busy. She was struggling to cope with a full cafe and was very vocal about being stressed out, which made us feel quite awkward, like we we're causing an inconvenience. After we finally got our lunch we were really disappointed with the quality. The paninis were underfilled and for £5.50 each we felt we could have made them much better ourselves at home. Certainly not worth the wait or the price. I love the Honesty brand and have eaten in their other pubs and cafes and really enjoyed it, but sadly I won't be returning to the Kingsclere branch.

We were shocked by the atmosphere in this cafe. The man was lovely and made us feel welcome. EVERYTHING was too much trouble for the lady. She was extremely rude and made us feel uncomfortable. She wasn’t very nice to the poor man either! Such a shame as I usually love an honesty cafe.

Lovely Dog friendly cafe. Blueberry cake perfect. 🍋 Citrus traybake superb. In a listed building so there are 3 steps to get in. Once in all on one level. Sensibly priced. Very fresh cakes.

A little gem of a cafe in this pretty village. Nice coffee and choice of cakes. Some inside seating available.

Very nice little coffee shop with beautiful cakes

Visited here with a friend for brunch. We got served and seated straight away. Really nice lady with a lanyard served us. Very friendly. We each had a hot sausage bap with her homemade ketchup- mmm yummy! The cakes looked delicious as well, especially the orange polenta cake. The coffee was strong as well.

A lovely cafe, made what it is by the hardwork of the most incredible lady Mel who works there. She remained calm in the face of a never ending stream of customers including huge numbers of cyclists who each ordered individually. Cyclists visiting in a group.... Possibly consider a group order? So friendly and helpful. Great coffee.... and cakes. Also, I took time to notice that Mel wears a lanyard as she is not able to wear a mask. All Covid regulations were dealt with exactly as required. Definitely worth a visit.

Nice cafe for a cycling stop, good value coffee and cake and friendly staff, service a bit slow with only one person doing everything.

I visited this coffee shop the other day after my midweek walk,,,it was busy the lady was working on her own ,she could only allow 6 people in at a time,,,she had a couple of lady's that wanted to come in but there was no room,,,,she said if they wanted to wait for a table to come free they could wait outside and she would let them know when it was empty,,,not only did she look hot and bother behind her shield,she served the tables and did takeaway for other people,,, Well done to this lady,for keeping your cool and being polite to the customers seated and takeaway,,,,I wouldn't of keep my cool.

Great proprietor and great service

I popped into Honesty this morning, to join my wife for a coffee and croissant. We were served by a lovely lady, She served delicious coffee, with warmth, humanity and a broad smile. Not sure if a coffee can be heartwarming, but after the long, lonely months of lockdown, this one certainly was!

After all this long wait in lock down coffee back to its high standards and and nice to see the friendly barista lady back at work well done for seeing it out

Dropped by for a cuppa and having irresistible butternut squash,Chee's and onion pie, truly delicious and comforting. Superb quality so impulse buying bread too. What a gem!

Atmosphere was odd very quiet even though it was busy, however it isn't a big space and you can hear everyones conversations and that maybe why it was odd. I was definitely concious of my volume level!

Found this lovely cafe by searching "coffee shop" on Google maps on our drive home from a weekend away. Had a really delicious beetroot and carrot soup with crusty bread. Generous portion and friendly staff. Good ethical business. Highly recommended.

Had a very full flavoured coffee here while cycling past on a Sunday morning. The helpful staff let us take out proper china mugs and sit in the sunshine on the churchyard wall opposite. Didn't have the 🍰 but it looked tempting

Great, "Honest" little coffee shop. I had a 2 sausage baps with home made brown & red sauce, a slice of cake & a soya cappuccino. Everything was fresh & even though they were busy, my order arrived quickly. The staff were friendly & attentive....

Menu choice is limited but what they have is good quality and tasty. They allow dogs in which is always a bonus.

Great place for coffee and cake!

Stopped for a coffee (which was fine) and a bacon roll which was absolutely awful! Roll was heated up but sticky & under cooked. Bacon was cheap streaky strips. Cost for the roll was £3. These are "bought in". What a joke, can't they make their own? I had one bite into it but it was so disgusting, that I couldn't eat it. I returned it and wasn't even offered a refund! Will not be going back!

The coffee is good and the cakes tasty. The rest is pretty poor. Despite selling local bread they don't appear to use it. I ordered a brie and bacon sandwich- it came prepackaged and was heated in it's paper bag- just adequate, but not very tasty. They could do so much better.
