This place really isn't what it used to be, lacklustre, disinterested service, when I asked for my sausage roll to be heated up I was told it wasn't possible. No apology. It arrived from the chiller cabinet which was set to 5.c. There's a restaurant kitchen 20ft away, which presumably has an oven or microwave. Please check try harder.

Beautiful eating area but ….. Had to wait ages to be served whilst waiting for previous customers drinks to made without any acknowledgment. It was bank holiday Monday but not that busy. Sat down outside and waited for ages again before going back in to find teas cooling on the counter and at that point being informed we should have collected them. Sandwiches arrived, bread a bit stale but basically very overpriced for a basic sandwich! Used the toilet before leaving, really not that clean. Sadly will not be back which is a shame as it is a very lovely garden area.

We didn't have a great experience here we came for lunch but everything was disorganised. We had to request milk for the tea twice - there was no sugar for the coffee when the food came there were no napkins or cutlery abd tbh we couldn't be bothered to ask again as it was embarrassing. I honestly felt at £30 I am fed up of paying good money for mediocre food and bad service. I honestly won't be back

Six walkers arrived for a late lunch and enjoyed paninis, salads and soup. We were well looked after. We experienced none of the negative comments posted earlier this year.

Popped in with a friend on a cold day, when we visited a few weeks ago on a cold day it was very cold with no heating on, when we said how cold it was the waitress said the heating was broken but managed to find a small electric heater which she plugged in and switched on, still very chilly. We returned last week expecting the heating to have been fixed by now, it was an even colder day and still no heating - the waiter was wearing a thick overcoat! We saw the electric heater at the side of the room and asked if we could plug it in, he then explained that wasn’t working either, all he had to warm the entire place was a very small fan heater behind the counter. Be buttoned up our coats and ordered 2 hot chocolates, they arrived but were hardly even warm, we then ordered a portion of chips which tasted as if they were the dregs of the friar, we then ordered another portion and were told the kitchen had closed - it was just coming up to two o’clock. As we were still peckish we ordered two pieces of different cakes, both were disappointing and didn’t taste fresh, we both left half of them. Sadly yet another disappointing visit to the bakery, it should be so good but more often than not is pricey and sub-standard.

My wife and I called in for coffee and cake. There were two young ladies serving. Three tables had other customers and 11 tables had dirty dishes on them. One girl served us the other stood around. A waitress brought our drinks, set them on the table, off her tray, and then walked away. Did she take any dirty dishes from the tables surrounding us, NO, never entered her head. We’d even had to clear onto the next table when we sat down so that table had quite a pile of dishes, but she obviously never noticed, And now the most appalling thing. Just before we left a young couple with a baby sat at the next table, it had dirty dishes on it. They had obviously ordered food and drinks as a young man brought them on a tray a few minutes later. Amazingly he deposited their drinks on the table and left the dirty dishes, we could not believe it. First is this the pride a young person has in doing a job, even if it is waiting on tables which is a very respectable role, these days. Or, is this because of the training given to them by the Honesty Management Team Either way this is totally unacceptable

The cafe is in a lovely setting but I felt it could do better with the food. There was a very limited range of sandwiches and the bread was not very fresh.

Twenty people from our local walking group visited Inkpen Honesty Bakery this morning. I felt compelled to write this to thank Rebecca for the great service she provided, yes there was a little wait for her to serve us all but she was not phased by our numbers and was extremely efficient. Of course, the coffee and lovely cakes were a big part of our visit as well. We all look forward to our next visit.

I would just like to leave a review for basingstoke Garden center honesty cafe as I cannot find any where else to fill out a review form. I visited the cafe this Saturday for a nice coffee in the sun. May I just say that these 5 stars are for the staff member running that day ALONE! I could not believe it to see such a busy site with one lady running back and forth without any support. I was there for over an hour working and having lunch. I would like to see more support during the busy days, your member of staff tried her absolute best but you could tell how much work she had to deal with. I am hoping this is a one off but with the heat and facemasks I was genuinely concerned for her. Will be visiting again, well done to the lady running an extremely busy Saturday!!

Lovely friendly member of staff serving who warned us that they were closing at 2pm but that we were welcome to sit outside from then (arrived at 1:15pm). Given cutlery but one set was unfortunately wrapped in a dirty napkin. Ordered a club sandwich, burger, extra portion of chips and 2 drinks all to eat in, came to a little over £30. Ginger beer was bottled so asked for a glass but only a disposable cup was available. Hot drink also served in a disposable cup which was a little disappointing, especially for the environment. Decided to sit out the back but within a couple of minutes someone started pressure washing the patio only about 4 - 5 meters away from us. Not only could we not easily chat but my husband was in the spray! We moved round to the front as there was a table available, and to be fair it was only us round the back, but then a couple of minutes later the guy doing the pressure washing had moved round the front and continued using the pressure washer for the rest of our meal... unfortunately not a great experience which is disappointing as the food was great, the location beautiful and staff friendly. We appreciate that it takes lots of work to keep the grounds looking pretty but we were gone by 2pm and can’t help wondering why you didn’t wait to do the pressure washing until then. If it wasn’t for the noise we would probably have just about squeezed in a second round of drinks and a cake each.

The property is clean and well presented, it’s a shame that when we and others walked in there wasn’t a welcoming service and eagerness to serve you. Coffee and cake was good, hot chocolate rather insipid.

We went to visit Barrs Yard on a trip to Hungerford and Marlborough. We were very pleasantly surprised by the lovely shops as they are all privately owned. After wandering around we had coffee and cake at the Honesty Cafe which was delicious. I am fussy about my coffee and I wasn't disappointed. The next time we hope to have lunch as everything looked so fresh and mouth watering.

The Honesty Cafe in Inkpen is a lovely little find, very homely in the English sense of like being in a country kitchen. There's a great range of teas and coffees, soft drinks and juices and some fantastic home-made cakes, biscuits and desserts. Best of all when we were there was a delicious parsnip soup with crusty bread. If you're in the area, this is the place for a pit stop.

The waitresses were the only part of the visit worth commenting positively about as they were great. The food tasted like everything was cooked in butter. The dessert was either stale or reheated certainly nothing honest about the quality of food to pricing. The bearded waiters left a free hair in all they served. Raw beef which couldn't be cut and the chips for those having it all received the same issue soggy and covered in butter. Even the Tarter sauce was made using butter which is a new one on me. I would avoid and will certainly not returning.

Coffee stop - this was the place in the area - fabulous coffees, cakes and snacks. But on a recent visit, we were somewhat disappointed. The waitress disappeared for ten minutes so there were three groups of us waiting to place our order. Food took a while and the coffees, made by the same waitress, less than perfect. Cake was nice though...But past experiences have been so good that i would give it another go.

Waited an hour for two paninis. Wasn’t even busy. Understaffed, but the young lad on the bar forgetting our drinks order didn’t help. The coca cola I asked for was also that cheap kind that’s too sweet to drink but was still priced as if it’s the real thing. That being said the pub that owns the honesty inkpen looks nice, especially the garden. But this is a no-go.

First impressions were positive, setting and decoration looked nice. Basic order of four drinks, four sandwiches and a side order of chips. The chips arrived within ten minutes, and people dipped in ... Very nice chips. Then after a hour, three of the four sandwiches arrived. People are those, and I waited for my sandwich. Another 10 minutes and my sandwich arrived, which I then ate while everyone else waited, as they'd finished theirs. Mine was ok, the BLT was nice, the bacon was two thick pieces of bread with a single rasher, and the beef was ok. So overall very NOT impressed with the cafe

Often pop in for coffee when dog walking, have given up on most of the cakes as I have had more that are stale and/or dry than fresh but the coffee is always nice. On our most recent visit as it a very hot day we decided to try the milkshakes and ordered the chocolate versions. When they arrived we were very disappointed, firstly they were quite small - especially for the price, secondly they were advertised as being made with homemade ice cream but in fact were fairly watery and three, they actually reminded us of milk flavoured with the chocolate Nesquick powder I had as a child, all in all not good!

The surroundings were lovely but unfortunately there was only one young man serving and he wasn't coping. We waited ages for our order which was just coffees and cakes - there were only 3 of us. We had ordered one decaf coffee and 2 ordinary coffees. When the coffees were brought to us, they did not mention one being decaf so we asked and they hurriedly but not convincingly said "this one". (I am quite sure it wasn't decaf as I am very sensitive to caffeine and felt the affects of it quite strongly.) He did not bring our cakes at the same time or any milk for the coffee, eventually I went in and asked and the young man seemed completely unaware of what we had ordered but said he would bring it to us in few minutes- 5 minutes later he still hadn't appeared, with the cake and the coffee was getting cold while we were waiting for the milk. We did eventually get our full order but we had some Scananavian almond cake which seemed to be a sponge cake (no almonds in it as far as we could tell) with some flaked almonds on top in a type of syrup. The cake was extremely dry.

Great place to stop for tea/coffee and cake when walking or cycling. Cute crockery and lovely interior. Unfortunately they really do need to keep closing the door or put a spring on it as it gets really draughty if you are anywhere near it as people leave it wide open when they go through it even in winter!

Have been coming to the C and G Bakery since it opened but have just had my last slice of lemon drizzle cake. I love the surroundings and ambience and initially the cakes -particularly the lemon drizzle was yummy but I am afraid to report that over the recent months they have been very sub-standard! They taste as if they are either going stale or may possibly have been frozen and then defrosted, certainly not freshly baked, either way I have now had at least 30 pieces which have not been good so in future I will just stick to drinks and give the cakes up as a bad job. Such a shame.

I visited here in two separate occasions, one with my sister-in-law and the daughter (age 13) this visit was primarily to do the pottery painting? I can thoroughly recommend this, brilliant activity if you’re into arts and craft. The second occasion was with my husband and my dog to visit the garden centre. This we find it to be a well equipped garden centre which is not overpriced. Some lovely ideas for gifts, outdoor clothing, garden furniture, plants and a pet shop. The Garden centre is dog friendly with a few areas around which does not allow dogs. There’s quite a lot to do at this location , especially if you have a YoungFamily, butterfly, soft play, petting zoo, pottery painting etcetera. There are two cafés at this location, one of them being dog friendly with a segregated area for dogs and the owners. The café is okay, not great. We ordered a sandwich, cheese scone and a pot of tea. The sandwich took 45 minutes to make, It was a nice sandwich although 45 minutes to wait for a sandwich was a bit of a joke. In summary: dog friendly garden centre, children activities, location easy to get to, free parking and a cafe. We will revisit.
