High Street Bar Co Ventnor in Isle of Wight

As someone who live to the rear of this bar I and many others have complained about the excessive noise, anti social behaviour, drunks flowing into the rear car park as if it part of the bar's property . They also use the car to park their vehicles as if their own yard without paying for a ticket. The children's slide and climbing area (if approved) is monitored from a distance! With all the anti social behaviour around this area the owners do nothing to help improve it; especially the noise polution this bar and it's clientele create! The "new. Management " promotion is a joke! Just the same anti social crowd! No respect for any neighbour even after the recent "noise complaint" raised with the council! Close the place as it should not have rear access / facilities within a residential area! Gives Ventnor a bad image!

Great for a beer in a British themed Pub.

Just popped in for a quick drink whilst in the village. The barman was busy clearing but friendly and quick to serve. Dog friendly and reasonably priced. Looks like an upcoming place to be

Cracking pub, lovely barmaid, friendly, chatty and made me feel welcome before I’d got through the door. Ended up chatting with a couple of locals, nice fellas, great conversation and relaxing. Now one of my favourites

Had late lunch here, lasagne and chips with an Amstel. Just the job after I'd hiked from Freshwater Bay with nothing to eat. Not busy on a rainy September day, but the mature bar maid was on top of things, as was the kitchen, which seems to be upstairs. Downstairs the bar has a stylish micropub feel about it, with some imaginative decor in black and white. Though it's a small unit, it does have the two floors, so there's more space inside than I assumed. You could treat this as bar or a cafe--they even do breakfasts.

What a joke of a bar..... had the owner kicking off.... the bar staff picking and choosing who they let in.... felt so uncomfortable.... potentially great but with the staff there now it has no chance

Great little Sandwich Bar for breakfast. Bacon lettuce tomato and avocado (BLAT) in a roll really good.Great coffee best I have had in Glasgow. Unfortunately all is served takeaway so no real plates or cups

Ventnor is up and coming with regards places to eat and drink and the High Street Bar Company typifies this rise.Modern and stylish. A great place for such diverse activities as sitting at the high chairs watching sports, or settling back into the deep sofas to enjoy a cocktail.We held a party here. The food was delicious, and the staff could not be more helpful.

Came here on a Tuesday night. Barman happy to change the channel to show football despite bar having other people in and something else already on screen (with a great pop punk background music behind the multiple screens).I imagine it can get busy but on a weeknight it was not empty but plenty of tables available.Really good selection of rums and gins (plus 5 sambucas if you cared for those). Priced well (£3.90 for a pint of dark fruits) compared to "the mainland", but haven't been to many bars on the island to compare.Really friendly staff, will happily visit again

We are on our last night in Ventnor. Our lovely South African friend who manages the place made us welcome every time we came in. The food is fantastic and the decor is very classy but comfortable. You have to visit this place. Create your own pizza and burgers are amazing. Thank you for making us feel so welcome and for the Mint aeros! Elaine, Vince and Finlay.

Quirky and very British . Great service

New bar in Ventnor. Food is amazing, good selection of drinks, all not too highly priced. A more modern venue in the town, but draws a crowd of all ages. A wooden balcony out back which is a great subtrap. Upstairs boasts comfortable seating and a front row position to see Seth Rogan cooking. Downstairs gives the impression that I might be entering a room to do a business deal with cigars and whisky. In the ground floor bar, there are multiple TV screens to watch sports on. The main bartender, Amy, is friendly and inviting from the moment you walk in the door. Always smiling and happy to help.

A great place , so placed over the road from a car park in High Street , they welcome dogs and the entire experience is a joy. no better way to spend time with friends than here

Such a nice looking bar in a beautiful town on the Isle of Wight. Wide selection of food and drink available. Modern, airy and well presented. Such a shame the Bar Manager (Chad I beleive) could do with learning some people skills. I couldn't help but over hear him being rude, condescending and vile. He was aggressive, demanding and very intimidating towards the female members of staff. He was nice enough to the customers but the way he talks to and treats the female staff is disgusting! I had to leave as I couldn't cope with such awful behaviour. I would have expected alot more professionalism from a bar manager. Very disappointed customer.

The bar is situated in the centre of Ventnor town and is just a stones throw from a large car park. The bar is very new and very well presented with a very well stocked bar and a wide variety of drinks. The burgers are quite pricey but are presented well.

Tried out the “create your own burger” with friends last night after hearing really good things about them and we were not disappointed. They were delicious! 4 of us had burger and chips and food bill came to £40! Great value and really friendly staff so will definitely be back.

Brand new setting. Loved our visit, we were made so welcome and also allowed our friends dog inside too. A beautiful and stylish set up. Helpful and friendly bar staff. Back garden not the best view but it's a suntrap and still able to relax, highly recommend others

I understand this is a new business and would recommend you give them your custom. Comfortable seating in bar area and great food served in a unique imaginative style. My elderly mother particularly enjoyed her wholesome fish finger sandwich! Service was excellent throughout, good beer choice.
