This is the best cafe in Truro (no doubt). Low prices and excellent food. You will also be very charmed by the staff and atmosphere - great service!

A real gem! Cosy, friendly serves great coffee and really good food. Could have stayed all day just to try everything tempting on the menu but a New York deli ciabatta was more than satisfying. We'll just have to go back again 😄. Thanks

Had a lovely Flat White in there with my grandfather earlier, very friendly owner and an all round chilled vibe.

We found this looking for a cafe for lunch on trip adviser and had great reviews so we tried as well. It was worth it a hand made fresh wrap and super fresh salad with scrambled eggs and salmon on sourdough. All great, all well presented and accompanied by great coffee. So slough only a couple of indoor tables it’s well worth it for choice of food and specials and great coffee.

Just stopped by for a quick lunch after reading the reviews - Excellent food, excellent value, really friendly staff - can't fault this place!!! 😊

All I can say is wow!!! We stumbled upon this little gem of a cafe. Its not a big place but we like that that boy does it serve big. We had to best sandwiches we ever had. Philly steak and cheese was out of this world and coffee was better than the big coffee shops. Staff are lovely and very friendly. We will be returning regularly.

One of the best places in Truro for decent food

Lovely friendly little cafe with lots of good menu options. I had the vegetarian French onion soup, which was delicious, and took a Da Bara cinnamon bun for later! Prices are very reasonable too.

Had the philly steak sandwich, which was a sandwich that needs to be tasted . It was superb . My partner had a French toast cheese sandwich( I can't remember the name of it ), which she said was very good . They both came with a lovely dressed salad. I do think there could be a little more variety for the veggies, though . The staff were lovely and very chatty with us . Not much room for lots of people but if you get there at the right time you will be rewarded with superb food .

Beautiful family run cafe with deliciously interesting menu. We had soup/sandwich combo which was amazing and returned the next day for a Ted Danson and Monte Cristo sandwich (you will need to visit to find the ingredients 😉). It’s a shame we are only in Truro for a few days as could happily spend every lunchtime exploring their menu. My kind of cafe. Small, personable with an original menu for all palettes. Highly recommended for a visit.

Delightful coffee bar and takeaway although small, only 11 seating spaces, Grounded provides fantastic service and food for a very reasonable price. The specials are particularly worth trying. Very good value and lovely friendly atmosphere. My go to place in Truro.

Only discovered this delightful little café last weekend, despite living here for 18 years, and will definitely be returning. Upon opening the door we were immediately greeted with a welcome from behind the counter. The café was almost full, with four others already there! It is a bijou place, and that is part of it's charm, together with the very friendly owners, delicious coffee and a brownie to die for.

Grounded is a family run Cafe, run by Dad John, Mum Melissa and Son Strahan. The food and drinks are first rate and made fresh to order. They do takeaway and eat in. My mum and I rate it the best little cafe in Truro. Amazing cafe in the heart of Truro. Was lucky enough to enjoy the best hot chocolate that we have had outside of Bruges here today - really was perfect. The BEST cafe in Truro! The nicest people, warmest welcome, high quality, fresh produce and heartily made food. These were the BEST sandwiches we've ever had; the thickest and softest slices of bread, hearty homemade soup and lovely tea with alternative milk options. Would HIGHLY recommend it for a nice lunch stop- especially for people fussy with food- substitutes can be made with ease and kindness.

A perfect Cafe. I really enjoyed writing a friend a card at the window seat whilst drinking my well roasted/ blended coffee. The owners are welcoming and know a few customers by name which really helps to create a relaxed homely experience.

Absolutely superb food, kind of wandered on this place by mistake luckily around lunchtime. Chose one of their specials which was a cajun chicken burger. Quality chicken breast and quality ingredients all round, friendly owner occupied staff and really reasonable prices. From now on when we visit a Truro we'll come straight here for lunch.

This is the second time I have eaten here, the first time for lunch and this morning for breakfast. Both times the food has been plentiful, excellent and good value too. Dodged in here on a rainy morning in Truro. It's quite small so we were lucky to get a table. The pot of tea was properly generous, 2 cups plus, each, and such a welcome change from the overpriced tiddly pot you get in many places.We had a sausage bap and scrambled eggs on toast - again tasty and generous. Lovely hand cut bread with the eggs. Can't recommend highly enough if you are in Truro.

This lovely little cafe might be very small,only having 2 tables and a bar indoors and 1 table outside but it does a take away service and is well worth a visit to dine in or take away. The cafe is dog friendly and has excellent food at an extremely good price. Really is good value for money.The ingredients are locally sourced and the menu is very pleasing with plenty of tasty,wholesome food on offer. Visited as a family with our two small boys on a day out in Truro & found this gem of a cafe. Made to feel very welcome & safe.Great coffee & pastries including a fab cinnamon swirl & brownie.Bacon sandwich was scrumptious with a really generous amount of thick, juicy bacon.But the star was their Ted Danson sandwich. Absolutely amazing & the best sandwich I have ever had (trust me I have had plenty!). The staff were so friendly & helpful & reasonable prices too.Highly recommend.

Wowzer! Amazing little place, friendly staff, but amazing food, at a great price. Seafood salad at £6.50 ? Brilliant, lots of all the good bits in the salad, onions, gherkins, beetroot and olives with smoked salmon, mackerel, tuna and prawns. Delicious.

If you have time for only one cafe stop in Truro, make it this. It's central for most things yet feels quaintly tucked away. It's very easy to find, yards from the main thoroughfares and prob. only feet from Shoppers' Car Park. If you didn't think you had time to 'do' Truro, even, s pit stop here is so easy. Shoppers' Car Park (which council run, drive up, push button, take care, don't lose card, easy pay machine with contactless) you can be back on the A39 in much less than 5 mins. Look for Halfords to come into Truro and the cathedral spires guide you to the first legal left turn. If to truly don't have time to stop you'll still the Trafalfar Rounabout. Famous giant hedgehogs, see, an attraction in itself. Drive round and round, the kids will love it. On foot from Shoppers', or any car park, to Grounded, this 5* establishment you'll take in the living and historic modern Capital of Truro easily. Grounded isn't huge but it's exactly as friendly as you want, inc. family friendly, can do attitude. Very very popular with locals. On the other hand, if you're after a regular spot near work or home, don't consider anywhere else.

My friends and I sampled a range of take-away food: including door-stop sandwiches, fresh flakey pastries and gorgeous pasties. We were all blown away, the sandwich was made with fresh bread, filled to the brim with the most delicious fillings and for such a reasonable price! We were also raving about how good the coffee was, so glad to have found this little place! The staff were accommodating and friendly, we will definitely be returning and cannot recommend the place enough! :) Also, social distancing was observed well, we felt very comfortable stopping by.

My friend and I had a lovely light lunch. Her soup was wonderful, tasty and great value. It was a £5 deal day too which made it even better. Only complaint was attitude of two of their regular customers who were quite rude to us implying we were visitors. If locals from Liskeard and Falmouth are classed as visitors then yes we were. This couple needs to be reminded that we in Cornwall rely on visitors however much we may not like them. That said this is a great little cafe and I shall have no hesitation in recommending it to others. Keep up the good work.

We stopped in Truro on the way back from a very wet week camping in Cornwall. I found Grounded on trip advisor and suggested to my husband we went there for breakfast before we continued our journey home. I’m so glad we chose this little cafe. The service was excellent and the food was freshly cooked and delicious. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. I ordered the breakfast omelette. I can heartily recommend it. My husband ordered the full English breakfast and was equally enthusiastic. The next time we visit Cornwall, we will definitely return.

A small independent family run cafe in the heart of Truro that uses fresh, good quality local ingredients! We had an americano, double mocha, chai latte, ham and Emmenthal croissant, muesli, big breakfast and scrambled eggs on toast. I thought we may have a long wait but it all came out not long after we ordered and was hot and fresh. All cooked perfectly and was very tasty! Very nice to see a cafe that takes so much pride in what they are doing! We will definitely be returning and highly recommend others visit too!
