Fabulous tea room which gets better every time we go. Clearly a huge amount of thought and work has been put in by the owners to creat the outstanding experience.

Hubby and I popped in with our two whippets for just a cup of tea, saw the delicious cake offering and couldn't resist. The welcome was genuine and warm. The whippets were made comfortable on a dog's bed and blanket provided, and a fresh clean bowl of water appeared without asking, along with a doggie biscuit each! If our holiday time permits, we would love to pop back in for another well made, well priced and thoroughly enjoyable experience. I strongly recommend a visit, particularly if you have a well behaved pooch or two and need to have a rest or a warm up in the current awful weather.

What a wonderful find on a rainy morning in Mevagissey! We had a lovely breakfast and our dog was thoroughly spoiled with a bed in the window and homemade treats. Food and cakes all looked delicious, great coffee and lovely owners. Will definitely be back!

Such a lovely cafe, it's nice to support independent places and even better, they are VERY dog friendly. I loved all the quality touches, quirky tea pots on cork mats, beautiful engraved teaspoons and Polaroids of all their doggie customers on the wall. I noted that every table cloth was changed between customers and there was no scrimping on the clotted cream either! The portion sizes are very generous in general, for example, instead of a few crisps on the side of the sandwich, a small packet of Burts arrived. With all these lovely special touches I had to wonder how they make a profit, especially in these times, everything is bigger and better than you get at most places (and it's really not expensive), but I'm pleased they are as they have been going for 6 years (I think!) so long may they continue. Would definitely return.

We popped in whilst in Mevagissey for half day trip. Only had a teacake and a cuppa.

Lovely tearoom, different teas and coffees but really look after your poochie. Blankets, water, home made treat and even take a picture and pin it on their visiting doggie wall. Different and delightful

Coconut and lemon flapjack was the best dessert I’ve ever had and was a very generous size. The whole experience was a delight! Treats were given for to our dog - very kind!

This small cafe is an absolute gem and delivers the best authentic Cornish cream tea. Choices and explanations by the proprietor every step of the way to give you exactly what you want, to give you the best experience. Homemade scones delicious with plentiful jam and clotted cream beautifully presented. Choice of tea, and varied brewing times to give you the ultimate taste you are looking for. We can definitely recommend. The other food looked delicious too.

Lovely tea room that tries hard to deliver, maybe just a little too hard on times, when you may want to be left to enjoy the quality on offer. Great selection of teas and coffees. Cakes were very good, the ginger cake surprisingly so. The Bakewell Cookie Pie had me quizing the proprietor as to how it was made, it was so tasty. Very rich. I may have struggled to get through the whole of the man-sized slice, but thankfully, we share. Worth calling for the perfect combo of tea and cake.

We had a lovely warm welcome for us and our two Cockapoo pups. I loved that there was a very comprehensive list of teas available including locally grown tea which was so good. Scones and clotted cream were outstanding. Best of all, our pups were made a fuss of and offered treats and blankets. Thank you.

I never write reviews, but I can’t praise this place enough! I am vegan and was prepared for some tea with oat milk while the rest of my family would enjoy cream tea - I couldn’t be more wrong!! I had a vegan cream tea that what heavenly, and there were several more options for me to chose from. Everyone at the table truly enjoyed the delicious food, the atmosphere is simply fantastic and the staff super friendly. Thank you all at the Teacup Tearoom x

Beautiful tea cafe. Wonderfully good scones with clotted cream and jam. In addition to the normal teas, you can try out a whole menu of local teas. The tea is served with a tea hourglass (3 5 or 7 minutes). A paradise for every tea lover.

Loved this tearoom. From the minute we went in, us and our dogs were made to feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and the dogs were brought water, blankets to sit on and treats but first checked if they were allowed them. We had an amazing deluxe hot chocolate and lemon curd flapjack although there was nothing I wouldn't have had. Also lots of vegan choices. The proprietors were absolutely lovely and really friendly. A real gem and we will definitely be coming back. Thank you so much.

What a lovely lil place. Very welcoming staff and one incredibly knowledgable owner, what he doesn't know about teas isn't worth knowing. I had a cream tea IN THE WRONG WAY 😆 And a Earl Grey with a vanilla twist! Superb.

I came for a cream tea, and this did not disappoint at all. A choice of jams, beautiful scones and an owner (?) Who clearly knew all about their history and was up for a conversation. Lovely little café would recommend to anyone, and if you have a dog they have food for them too.

Delicious scones and delightful tea. Let down a bit by the odd covid safety measures kept in place. A family had a young child who was “isolating” so at the end of our yummy tea I was told not to go past the family to the peruse the counter of cakes. Interestingly none of the family were wearing masks in this public restaurant. Very confusing. It did not seem logical or safe to have an isolating person in a public tearoom! Anyway, it was still a lovely Cornish cream tea. Edit following owners response: the fact we are doctors is neither here nor there. Of course, you may do whatever you please. It has been a while since my visit to this fabulous tea shop but it impressed me so much that’s I even put it on my never ending to do list to review it and I’ve finally got around to it! Immediately as I walked through the door my mum and I were greeted with lots of passion and enthusiasm, and the beat bit I was asked if I had any allergies. I was already prepared for the fact that I wouldn’t be able to eat the deserts as I am dairy intolerant so went for a coffee, but to my surprise and delight they had delicious baked goods to suit everyone! So not only did I have a slice of coffee and pecan cake to go with my coffee but I took a chocolate and caramel tart home with me which did not disappoint! I loved how dog friendly the place was also and being bakers ourselves it was lovely to chat passionately with the staff about our common passion. I would highly recommend this place to everyone!

Huge scones, great locally sourced tea (I wasn't aware Tea was grown in the area but according to the waiter it is!) and a lovely helpful waiter. Very sweet and is definitely worth a visit.

Another wonderful visit to this fabulous place. Always friendly and welcoming, today we took our rescue dog Ozzy for his first visit. He got a treat, a blanket, a drink and lots of fuss. We had a gorgeous lunch and picked up some stunning scones to take away. Teacup tearoom is brilliant for gluten free and diary free too and everything tastes amazing. Thanks so much to our wonderful hosts. We’ll be back again soon.

This is an amazing place. So friendly and welcoming, made a huge fuss of our dog! Best scone too! We left our dog rucksack behind with his bowl and treats in it. The owners went out of their way to get it back to us. We can’t thank them enough. If your ever in the area pop in you will be sure of a great welcome with great food and service! Can't rate the food because the rude and quite frankley obtuse assistant argued over a table of 4 being seated after a 30 minute wait. Wouldn't normally leave a review however the absolute cheek of the assistant arguing in front of a full cafe needs having a word with! It wasn't the fact of having to wait for a table, it was the blatant rudeness of how we were spoken to. The Cake Hole round the corner were much more accommodating, friendly and without the attitude. Just to update your update sir, Obtuse can have many a meaning. A meaning which within the context of this review was aimed at the insensitive nature and lack of comprehension as to what we had explained and was actually aimed at yourself. Absolutely nothing to do with special needs nor a derogatory term at intelligence... just a rude owner with a chip on his shoulder who thinks he can out 'update' bad reviews from honest experiences. How about you try less to out talk the experiences of others by continually trying to update your response to take the review out of context to suit youre own narrative, and more about how to fix the rudeness which is evident from thr reviews. Yes you have a successful business, and yes some people can be awkward in their asks and no you can't please everyone. However, my review was of simply that what we experienced...you were rude, simply as!

What a delightful experience. The tea was superb as was the sandwich. The service was great and owners very knowledgeable and helpful.

What a place, as soon as you walk through the door your made so welcome, the dogs if you have them are also well catered for. The tea and coffee selection is amazing as is the quality, but the star of our show was the scones with jam and cream, such attention to detail I not only urge you all to go but implore you all. For an out of this word experience visit the Tea Cup tea rooms. The staff are rude and condescending , not accommodating in any way and completely absent of customer service. If their noses were any higher they would suffer from altitude sickness. Unfortunately we never got to experience the food but did find a great place further down called the Cake Hole. Friendly, accommodating and excellent food. Every cloud has a silver lining. In reply to the owners response to our review I would like to point out the following: no furniture was dragged across the floor. A chair was placed at the end of a table . We were not told it was not safe to put a chair there for reasons of health and safety , you just shouted ‘No ‘ across the tea room , stating it blocked the access , how much access do you need ? We went to sit at separate tables but then decided to go elsewhere as it had been made perfectly obvious that you didn’t want us to be there. As we were leaving a cushion fell from a chair as it was placed back under the table, you then accused us of disrespecting your furniture . I do not recall at any point were any of our party rude or disrespectful in any way, we were just disappointed that we were spoken to rudely and treated like we were a burden. I suggest you review your CCTV and let me know exactly what comments from our party were considered rude or disrespectful. Ah so you have checked your cctv and now trying to defend yourselves. As you have looked at the cctv you will see that three people entered followed by another two about 15 seconds behind, as I was in the later I certainly did not hear any instructions from you. I picked up the chair innocently ( not dragged ) from another table so I could sit with my family, you then shouted across the room whereupon I replaced the chair and went to sit at the other table, it was then we decided to go elsewhere. So as you have viewed the cctv which member of our party threw your cushion on the floor or was that just you trying to make us look bad in your response ? Also you accused us of being rude , again you have not said who , again trying to justify your response. Please just accept you were rude to us and didn’t want us there.

Teacup had the best tea, coffee and fruit scones in our travels around devon and cornwall uk to-date. Give it a try I think you will agree!

This is without doubt one of the best dog friendly tea rooms we have ever visited. If the service was brilliant for us the service to our dog Lily was even better Blanket water bowl and biscuit even before we ordered If there were more tea rooms like this the world would be a much happier place

Fantastic cream tea in a beautiful location. A very warm welcome from the owners for us and our dog, who was spoiled with treats and affection the moment we arrived. The quality of the scones, clotted cream and jam was outstanding and the locally grown Cornish tea was absolutely delicious! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit here. You will not be disappointed.

Absolutely outstanding service & setting. Made to feel so welcome from the moment we stepped inside. Couldn’t do enough for us, guidance on the teas and moorish fruit scone. Perfect amount of jam and cream. Lovely write up on the menu explaining how things work. Even the toilet area was homely! Will happily return again!

We visited twice on our 3 day trip to Mevagissey. My partner went on his own while I was at a spa day and insisted we go back the next day... Why? When there's so much choice in Mevagissey to try? Because of the free from offering!!! My partner has dairy and gluten intolerances and had 5 cakes to choose from, he was delighted. He had his first scone in 7 years since discovering his intolerances. It is so hard to find places that offer any free from options, let alone gluten and dairy free, let alone a huge variety of choice! Thank you for taking the needs of people who have allergies and intolerances into account. More places should do the same! The owners were so friendly and interested in our dogs too. We would be regulars if we didn't live 6 hours away! We will definitely be returning on our next trip to Cornwall.

My third 2023 visit to Teacup Tearoom since April. The care, attention and dedication shown by Mr and Mrs Teacup to the safe running of the cafe is a joy. I know that as a Coeliac I can safely eat there and their gluten free...

Fab food clean and well presented, a great selection of teas etc. Found the couple who own this a little standoffish. Have been going regularly as the food is amazing.

The best Cream Tea in Cornwall. Such a wonderful atmosphere, with beautiful pictures of all the pooches who have previously visited. The scone was ginormous! Customer service was spot on 10/10 thank you for having us and thank you for converting my partner to Jam first 🥰

Very good selection of teas and coffees. We had a pot of decaffeinated tea and two toasted teacakes. The prices are very reasonable and we enjoyed both the tea and the teacakes very much. We would definitely recommend this place and will revisit when we visit Mevagissey again.

What a great venue and the best cream teas we have had to date! The atmosphere is a little pretentious, but can be forgiven. The staff all wear gloves which is nice to see they take the hygiene of the venue seriously. The staff are friendly and it is a busy venue. We had the cream teas, it was served perfectly, and wow it was nice. Plenty of quality jam in the pots, lots of quality cream to enjoy a generously served warm scone. Plenty of tea in the pot and plenty of milk. Nothing was held back. The quality was amazing. I am from up north so if I was going to be picky, the choice of a mug would have been nice instead of a tea cup and saucer. Overall I will revisit every year with the family, as it was amazing.

Gluten free vegan scones available, and vegan cream!! I almost cried happy tears! They were the best I've ever tasted and they were generous with both cream and jam :) The owners were lovely and I hope to be back to try more of their gluten free vegan cakes - there were plenty! There was also an extensive tea menu!

Lovely little independent tea room with great personal and friendly customer service. Toasted teacakes and mochas were very good and well presented. Recommended, particularly if you have a four legged friend. Very dog friendly, bowl of water and doggy treat provided straightaway. Dog bed and blanket in the window seat.

Visited the teacup in Mevagissey today. We we're greeted by a charming lady(the owner). As we were deciding what to order she came back with a blanket, bowl of water and a treat for our two little dogs. Oscar & Rosie very thoughtful. We ordered...

AWESOME. Such a choice of GF / vegan / normal cakes / scones / food and it was all delicious. Dog friendly too. If Carlsberg did tea rooms in Cornwall! You may have to queue... Do it, it's worth the wait. 100% will be back here.

Always head to this amazing tearoom when in Meva. Never disappoints! Owners and staff are just so amazing at what they do. Caring and attentive, check regarding any allergies before taking orders. A great variety of sweet and savoury treats and the most amazing scones....

Brilliant little tearoom with a fantastic fair to temp you with. Very dog friendly with dedicated rest blankets for them and each dog gets a nice treat from the owners too. One of the best cream teas I've ever had in the south to find there especially with the Boddingtons preserves !!

The cream tea was excellent, the staff were great and spent time talking to my 6 year old boy discussing sausage sandwiches.

I've got four words for you which will interest those who are lactose intolerant: * DAIRY FREE CREAM TEA!!!! * Absolutely amazing and you wouldn't know it was not made with any dairy products whatsoever. A great variety of teas, coffees and other sweet treats to choose from, and for those who own dogs the cafe is very welcoming to all (well behaved!) four legged puppers! Would recommend booking in advance: we got very lucky as we didn't realise you could but thankfully managed to snag a table without waiting too long and nabbed the last of the dairy free cream teas.

This tearoom was very welcoming and warm, dogs welcome with blankets provided for them. With the tea coffee and scones being delicious we relaxed and listened to tranquil music. I am overly joyed with what i experience in this wonderful tearoom today.
