Greggs in Eden

There is a team of us working away, so we're no strangers to Greggs. Vladimir did say that the gruel he was fed in the Gulag was less watery and had taste. Every time anyone asked to have bacon/sausage/omelette on baguette the answer has been "no", what are you doing with them, selling them as sticks for hill walking? I thought it was just so busy due to the massive queue. After the first 20 minutes I realised it's just slow, after the second 20 minutes I just went to the local guy out front.

Came here for a Too Good To Go bag. I was served this, with 2 sandwiches and a baguette. Quality food. The only thing I would say is, an older member of staff being more experienced that came to see me had better service skills. Not to fault anybody except there were younger less experienced staff at the tills. A good thing as I believe everybody has to start somewhere, however too many means companies are often paying less and an also experienced customer has to put up with dealing with one. One thing to teach them is ensuring work is done and ready.

I do love greggs but I hate when they leave the pasties for so long they are practically cold. Surely they can reduce this to half price and then put out fresh ones. At least the customer would know if it’s cold.

What a really nice Greggs in a fab location, in the old marker square in Penrith. Food regularly topped up, friendly staff, staff kept it clean and tidy. Excellent food choice, very popular with locals and visitors. Lovely views and a great place to chill. Phone signal, bit of an issue.

Confusing and expensive meal and poor seating area. Struggled to get out of the shop after eating without barging into people.

I go quite often staff is always friendly and polite. Always plenty of food and it tastes great

Crowded, but worth it. Steak slices, bacon and cheese turnover, doughnuts, yumyums - all tasty!

As two people who needed to house hunt in the middle of lockdown, we needed to stay in hotels and had limited choice for meals. So we got used to trying different takeaways for meals and Greggs became a bit of a favourite. Their bacon and sausage baguettes with extra sausage are good and they are excellent value. We've tried to ones in Penrith, Berwick and Pitlochry and all are good. You can even pre-order if you are in a rush.

We stayed across the street and bought items for lunches on our days out. There was always a queue of people waiting from 7.30am. The shop had a clear one-way system and only allowed 3 people in at a time, so you felt COVID safe. A good selection of hot and cold items and the rolls/baguettes that we bought were all yummy.

It is what it is £ 2 20 bacon roll and coffee can't beat that

Same as any other Gregg's. Usual savories and sweets on offer. Looks relatively clean and the hot drinks stand was wiped down and cleaned which I think is a good indication of how good front of house cleaning is.

Make sure to go before 10 if you want a proper breakfast

Popped in to get breakfast whilst staying in the are for work. The food was good and well cooked and the staff were friendly and polite.

You can't beat a Greggs meat & vegetable pastie.......im taking them to my Desert Island

Sign says masks and 2 people allowed in. Staff are beckoning more people in when there's already 3 in there, doesn't make me feel safe.

A cheap and bad quality service food shop

Easiest place to get a snack on the run in Penrith.

Purchased a chicken slice and a beef slice. They were very flat very moist and very little filling. They were also cold. Sorry Gregs but this was a poor show

Freshly baked pasties. Good central location. Can walk into the centre from free car park at Sainsburys.

Wanna try putting some filling in those pies Great cream cakes but everything else is below standard flavoured pastry with a small teaspoon of filling and its not even that cheap any more 10er used to buy you a carrier bag full of pies you bearly get filled up off it now Bring back birketts

Where else can you get a decent cup of coffee + a bacon and sausage roll for less than £3. I often come out feeling like I've robbed them and that's a rare feeling nowadays.

Lovely little shop with good food and friendly staff...service quick.
