The best ramen in Brighton has been found! Great little spot for a quick dinner before we went to the cinema next door. Delicious food and quick service. Walk in only though so it’s always a risk, but worked out perfectly for us. Tokyo ramen, soy milk ramen and pumpkin croquettes, all great.

Lovely noodles, bao bun and gyoza. All delicious and cooked pretty quickly. Great stuff.

This is my go-to ramen spot in Brighton! Me & my boyfriend love to go here whenever we have our ramen cravings 😁 My absolute favourite is their Tokyo Tonkotsu!! Also their karaage is one of the best I’ve had.

We had a pork bao bun for starters, it was delicious. For the mains we had Tokyo Tonkotsu ramen, Tonkotsu ramen, Tonkotsu miso ramen and a chicken shoyu. They came in Small or Medium. The Small was perfect for my 10 year old daughter. The rest of us had the medium, which was really filling! The broth was incredible. Never had broth so well cooked and seasoned. Everything came up to £54 which was a bit more than what we normally pay for a quick bite… but seeing how much the kids enjoyed it, it was worth every penny!

Awesome japanese restaurant, friendly staff and gorgeous food. Been here for the first time and we've been pleasantly surprised with how tasty the food was. Takoyaki and Crispy Karaage were great and the Shoyu ramen was a lovely experience that kept on giving. We definitely have to come back again when we're back in Brighton.

Nice place to visit for an authentic Japanese meal. We had the tonkotsu & chicken shoyu ramen, the broth for both were very well flavoured and seasoned well, the toppings and ramen were cooked nicely. The Japanese fried chicken was delicious, crispy on the outside but moist and juicy on the inside. They didn't have gyoza when we went so opted for the takoyaki which made a nice addition to the meal. Staff were friendly and very welcoming, would visit again.

While studying abroad, I really wanted to eat Japanese food, so I went there. The store clerk is probably Japanese as well. They serve proper Japanese food. I recommend Takana rice.

Best ramen I've had. Good kara-age too

This noodle bar geniunely looks great. But I am writing this review to just ask them to please be a bit kinder. I visited last night with my husband. I have a knee injury and was limping. Because of it, my husband dropped me off and went to park the car. I entered and saw there was one table downstairs. I asked if there was a table for two and they indicated that there was. But, I was asked to wait until the second person arrived. I didn't want to remain standing and said to them that he was literally coming from the car part around the corner. They repeated again to please wait until the second person arrived. I can understand this - they are busy so do not want to hold up a table, maybe? Note that there was no one else in line at this point. Understanding, I said that I could order both meals right away and not wait for the second person, so they needn't worry. Again, they refused.This meant that I had to limp back outside and wait in the rain. Just then, two guys entered. As they were both there, they got the table downstairs. I learned that I would now have to hobble upstairs to get a table. At which point, I left telling them to never mind as I was nervous to do this. Bizzarely, when my husband came looking for me a few minutes later and described me, they told him they did not know whether I went upstairs or not. I'm a relatively fit and healthy person who just had an injury but for someone geniunely disabled, this would have been very difficult. I recognise that small resturants need to control things carefully but a bit of flexibility and kindness would go a long way.

I recently tried out Goemon Japanese ramen restaurant in Brighton. The ramen was absolutely delicious, no complaints there. However, the service left something to be desired.The ramen bowls were flavorful and satisfying, showing off the chef's skills. But, the staff seemed in a hurry to get us out the door as soon as we finished eating our food. It felt rushed, like they were more interested in turnover than making sure we had a relaxed dining experience.If you're all about the ramen and don't mind a bit of a push to pay up and leave, Goemon's worth a try. But if you prefer a more leisurely meal, you might want to check out other options in the area like Oshio.

Just the best ramen that you can eat in Brighton downtown. The other dishes are amazing too! The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The price is absolutely honest for the quality and taste that you get. Highly recommended.

Just been for Lunch with a friend. Food was brilliant and great value, staff very efficient and frienly as well. We had to queue to get in, and it was even bigger when we left. I think that says it all really, great place to go.

We were excited to try this place because of all the great reviews but unfortunately we just didn't like the food. I had the veggie miso ramen and my partner had the vegan tantan. The tantan came with some sort of vegan milk in it though this hadn't been stated on the menu and wasn't what he expected as it just said broth and chili oil. We didn't like the flavour of either of the dishes so we wouldn't come back again. The staff were nice.

Delicious food in a friendly environment. Authentic too. Recommended. We have become regular visitors to this gem of a place. Each visit it just seems even more delicious.

This was my second visit. The inside of the store had been renovated and was beautiful. Also, the visuals and taste of the ramen were good. However, the ramen soup was lukewarm! ! Especially since it's winter and I was looking for something warm, I was really disappointed that I was served ramen with lukewarm soup. The soup at this restaurant must be lukewarm because it was lukewarm the last time I went there.

Cold pork, cold egg, Luke warm ramen broth that barely covered the contents. avoid this place for ramen. Other food looked ok.

The food was great. However, I have never experience such terrible customer service. Refused to seat us whilst continuing to seat other groups in queue behind us. Absolutely no respect for their customers still unsure as to what the problem was as we were very polite with our request for a table. Will never be returning and would not recommend to anyone!

Exceptional ramen. My partner and I have been going for years and the quality has never dipped. The food is is consistently good and the service is prompt and polite. The only thing that is annoying is that there is limited seating and because it’s so popular now - it can be a bit of a pain to get a table. Especially if you have a large group. But otherwise, this place is wonderful and highly recommended.

Absolutely a delightful dining experience. 100% authentic Japanese restaurant - from food taste, to incredients, presentation/layout of the dishes. Staff are Japanese and, as expected, they are extremely polite and helpful. Price is also incredibly affordable, especially when you compare to those so-called large "authentic" Japanese ramen chain restaurants in London. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes ramen, and will definitely come back again whenever possible.

Have the fried chicken with rice!

Wondering whether to go to this place? YES. I visited on a busy Saturday evening at 7pm and the queue went down fairly quickly, getting in after a 30 minute wait. There were around 20 people in front (groups of 2-4). Once in, the service is exceptional and the food cannot be faulted. Tasting the takoyaki balls brought me back to my memories of visiting Japan. The Tokyo Tonkotsu was spot on, noodles were bouncy and the deep flavours of the broth went well with the freshness of the spring onions on top. Perfection. Atmosphere is quite ordinary, and toilets were functional. It's a ramen bar, so it's in line with my expectations of a place to grab a quick bite, with friendly & attentive service and delicious food. 😋 Highly recommended if that's what's you're looking for. A great meal here with my wife. Friendly staff welcomed us into the small restaurant, a queue then formed very quickly behind us for tables. Starters and Ramen were soooo tasty, best we’ve had. We will definitely pay another visit.

If there's a long line of customers waiting to get into this establishment, then you know you're in for a treat. That said, I can comfortably say that Goemon Ramen Bar delivered in every facet. The service staff are impeccable. Not only are they polite and friendly, but they are ready and knowledgeable about the menu items. If you're new to Japanese food, you'll be in good hands. Just ask them if you need any pointers! Next up: the taste. Oh man, was the wait worth it! I ordered two pork baos and the chicken shoyu ramen. Tasty? Try again. It was out of this world! The food also came out speedily. So don't worry about needing to wait long for your food! After finishing my original order, I just had to see what else they could cook up. I ordered the pork gyozas, which came with its own savory umani sauce. Or rather, the sauce left you thinking "ooh mami" because it'll surely hit you with those childhood memories. I finished the evening with the green tea ice cream. A perfect end to this incredible taste of Japan in Brighton. I believe this establishment deserves more credit. It's clear that the food is made and delivered with care. Note, the portions are little small compared to mainstream competitors like Wagamamas, but its still definitely worth supporting. An amazing place with genuinely beautiful food! Me and my partner visited for dinner for our anniversary just gone - the first visit since pre-COVID - and it was, if anything, better than we remembered. I got an 8 piece takoyaki (I did want the gyu tan, but it was out of stock!), a large spicy chicken bowl; my partner got a bali salad and a spicy chicken bowl, and we shared a serving of shrimp gyoza. All of it was cooked to perfection, and they do without doubt the best takoyaki I've ever tried. The staff are super helpful, super attentive without being overbearing in any way. Super friendly!!! Word of warning: its a SMALL PLACE, so don't expect to bring a large group with you (3 at most)

From Yorkshire, been to Japan 5 times, been to this shop 4 times over the last few years. Ramen broth is quite genuine and authentic. We tried to order takeaway during a busy lunch period today; we were told to order on UberEats by a gentleman (if you can call him that). When confronted that I did not like his service and he was rather rude, he ignored me and served the customers behind me. This goes against “Omotenashi”. I am afraid we will not be back due to how he handled the situation. Disappointing.

Their Tokyo Tonkotsu Ramen is seriously one of the best Tonkotsu Ramen that I could found in Brighton (and possibly in the UK)!!

We have been coming here a few times recently and we love it. The food is excellent. They also have vegan choices which i love. The vegan teriyaki is great and also the tofu bao. I also must mention the sparkling sake, which is very easy to drink. Service is great and very friendly. Plus they let me practise my Japanese! This is a popular place so don't be surprised to queue to get in. I'd come here every week if i was allowed.

Yesterday we went to this restaurant to eat ramen and we weren’t disappointed. The ramen is really good and very tasty. I choose the Tokyo tonkatsu and it had a thick broth and pieces of tender pork . The waitress was lovely and always smiling, thumbs up to her, don’t know her name but she is blonde:) overall nice experience I’ll be definitely back for more ramen. I don’t give the max score only because I found the prices a little too high for the amount of food, but it is Brighton so everything is always so expensive.

Absolutely delicious and authentic Japanese ramen joint. A good ramen is judged by its broth and let me tell you this one is to die for both the shoyu and the miso based broths were delicious! We had the Tokyo Tonkotsu and the spicy Tonkotsu ramens, one with thin noodles, one with thick. Both absolutely incredible! We also had tsukemono as a starter and it was lovely and exactly what we needed at the time. The portions are really generous as well! One thing to bear in mind is that you cannot book a table, so you'll just have to rock up and hope that you'll get in.

Really good ramen bar near to the main shopping centre in Brighton. Plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans as well, and lots of yummy side dishes to go with your soup! Only downside was the service could be a bit quicker, as we saw many people who ordered after us being served first.

Our family love this restaurant and go often. Service is quick, they are really friendly and the food is superb. I highly recommend. You can’t book, so go early. Also as people queue for a table it is not a restaurant to sit after your meal, you eat and go.

Beautiful restaurant, inside the restaurant is very elegant and well done, the food is presented well and extremely tasty and the portion size is very big for the price, I definitely reccomend eating here.

Food is good, my cocktail only tasted of soda though, I wouldn’t recommend, get sake instead. I went a few years ago with a group and the service and food was amazing, this time round I went solo and I didn’t feel that welcomed. The male waiters were pleasant but there was one Japanese lady who served me that was quite dismissive and not so friendly to me compared to the other diners. Luckily I went before the dinner rush so there were tables available, another solo diner came in later and the lady ultimately pressured her to go and told her it would be a long wait. She left and a couple came in 5 mins later and were seated straight away with smiles. It’s nice to come in with a group but I personally wouldn’t recommend if you’re thinking to go solo. It’s a shame when places with great food aren’t hospitable to all clientele, some people are travelling alone! Also toilets were quite filthy.

Fried chicken starter was soo juicy and light it took me by surprise how good it was. I had a whole portion to myself but would consider filling a bath full of those tasty chicken bites and eating them all. Ramen was also very good. Must try if you are in Brighton.

Absolutely incredible. Came across this restaurant almost by accident, we had tried to go to one up the road but it was too full and then I found Goemon. So pleased I did. To start with we had our 1 year old with is and they were great at helping us push the damn stroller through the door and got our little one a high chair. The menu choices all sounded amazing but my wife chose the Miso Butter Ramen and I had a rice bowl with Fried chicken coated in soy sauce. The food was so so amazing, I love that you could choose a portion size so my medium bowl was enough to feed me with offerings to my little and the wife! The service was brilliant and the staff were so so friendly, loved the atmosphere. I just have to apologise for my baby excitedly screaming for food a couple of times, she loved it that much too 😂 10/10 experience and will definitely be going back.

I had been longing to visit this restaurant for several days, but due to their early closing time and my late working hours, I hadn't found the opportunity until now. Finally, I managed to visit the restaurant for a solo dinner. The young man serving me was helpful and provided guidance as I contemplated my menu choices. Opting for a more varied experience, I decided on a couple of appetizers along with a comforting ramen bowl. The appetizers turned out to be exceptional, exceeding my expectations in terms of taste and presentation. Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavours that left me wanting more. However, the ramen bowl, while satisfying, was a tad on the salty side for my personal preference. It didn't reach the point where I couldn't eat it, but I did find myself longing for a slightly milder flavour profile. Nonetheless, the overall dining experience was positive, with the appetizers stealing the show.

We all loved our ramen, bao buns and rice bowls. The spicy chicken bowl I had was one of the most delicious things I've eaten full stop. £60 for 4 Inc drinks, excellent value. Staff efficient and genuinely friendly. Place has a really relaxed vibe and the music was great too. Very highly recommended.

I had been craving ramen all week a d Geoman’s did not disappoint. I had the minced pork ramen in beef bone broth, pork gyoza and edamame. It was all sooo delicious, I’m craving it again 4 nights later. Can’t wait to visit again. All reasonably priced too.

Came to Brighton for a staycation from Glasgow my daughter is obsessed with everything Japanese including the food. I had chicken tan tan and it was so tasty not too spicy and it just had a lovely texture to the soup. Hubby had Katsu was delicious too and authentic. Would highly recommend

Messaged the restaurant in advance to try and book but they don’t take reservations. However, the person responding to me online was so friendly and gave advice for the best time to snag a table. Our experience was wonderful!! The food was DELICIOUS, so much variety and very reasonably priced. I had the gyoza, bao buns and a chicken and rice dish. I would eat it every day if I lived local! Can’t wait to return again. Staff were very friendly and helpful too. Loved it!

I went to Goemon during the lockdown. It was open only for takeaway. I ordered and was waiting there. Eat-in space was closed so some of the chairs near the entrance are on tables. I was sitting on a chair near the kitchen. Suddenly a staff came to me and said 'Wait near the entrance'. I asked 'With no chair?' He said 'There are!' I pointed the unavailable chairs near the entrance. He did not reply me and turned one of the chairs upside down. He went back to the kitchen without saying anything. I felt so sad because he was Japanese usually with more hospitality than British.Soup was good but noodle was too tender (despite that noodle and soup was separated). It was far from Japanese Ramen.

The ramen kit is so easy to prepare at home and just as delicious as eating out. Great to keep in the fridge for a treat at home or make for friends. Goemon is easily the best ramen in Brighton & Hove

I have been coming back to Goemon for years! My wife is Japanese so I've tried plenty of Ramen all over the UK and in Japan, I have to say that Goemon is one of the best. The service is also excellent and the vibe is friendly and warm. Every time I come back to Brighton I make sure to visit, I can't recommend it enough!

El mejor ramen en mi opinión. El fideo es más delgado de lo que me gustaría, pero creo que puedes cambiar eso, así que lo haré la próxima vez. La base de la sopa es muy buena, profunda y llena de sabor. El cerdo charsui es suave y tiene un equilibrio perfecto entre carne y grasa. Food was amazing! The ramen was delicious. Staff were very friendly. We were lucky to have the gov 50% off however we will most definitely be returning.

As my visit was in July I apologise for the lateness of my review. I had wanted to visit for quite a while but it was always so busy. So I day I waited out side for opening at 6pm. While I was reading the menu the restaurant filled up pretty quickly, I chose Tokyo Tonkotsu ramen bowl with a bowl of pickled veg and a bottle of Japanese beer the bowl came to my table full of noodles and pork and as I dipped my spoon in the thick dollop of broth made its way to the surface of the bowl, what a amazing rich taste. Very good with my pickles and beer. As the young gentleman sitting on the next table was slurping away I felt comfortable doing the same. At the end of the meal I paid and saying Okaike wo onegai shimasu . One proviso they will not hold tables if all of your party has not arrived so don't be late.

My friend was desperate for us to come here, she is a massive fan and really wanted to show me why, I can totally see why this cool little place has the great reputation it does!Warm and welcoming staff and atmosphere, truly great value and delicious ramen, loads of options to suit any taste.I was really glad we managed to visit here during my stay, it was busy wirh customers but service was still really efficient and food came out fast and looking picture perfect.Thumbs up all round!

The smell of the spices lured us into the restaurant. Great, friendly faces, quick service. Authentic Japanese cuisine, tasty appetisers(fries seasoned with seaweed and pork dumplings), mouthwatering main dishes(had ramen and rice). 100% recommended.

Ramen is a good reasonably priced easy meal. Goemon does it well with good friendly service. Presently they are cash only, credit card facilities would be a good step forward.

この通りには、各国のレストランが集まっていて、日本食のレストランもある。中華料理のレストランもあり、食事には困らない場所だ。この場所でラーメン屋を初めて3年目だと言われていた。店に入った時には、日本人の従業員はいなかったが、交代の時間だったようで、店員や厨房の人が出てきたが、日本人の人だった。とんこつラーメンが主体のようだ。夕方、イギリスの夕食にしては早い夜7時頃に店に入ったが、かなり空いていた。通りに面しており、ガラス張りなので、店内の様子も良く見えて一人でも入りやすい店だ。そのためか、私が入った時には、全員一人で来ている客だった。客はアジア系の人が多い。たまたま日本人の客もいたが、全体的に日本人の客は少なそうだ。韓国人・中国人が多い感じだ。ロンドンにはうまいラーメン屋があるが、このラーメンもなかなかうまい。

We are repeat customers here and have loved every meal we have had. The portion sizes are great and the staff ever so friendly. I have taken many apprehensive friends here and they have all came out with a new found love of ramen. Honestly the best ramen I have even eaten anywhere in the UK and I will continue to eat here until I die a full-bellied death from over eating. The menu is extensive and is well worth a visit if you are ever in Brighton!

Goemen es un fantástico Ramen Cafe absolutamente fantástico. Se sintió muy auténtico, con un menú sencillo que sugiere que tienen confianza en la variedad relativamente estrecha de platos que se ofrecen y una experiencia gastronómica al estilo de una cafetería. Este restaurante es muy agradable y tiene un gran ambiente, la comida era deliciosa y el servicio es muy rápido. Me encanta el ramen y realmente es delicioso aquí, hay una gran variedad para elegir y su precio es muy razonable. La comida es auténtica y no tuvimos que esperar por una mesa que era genial, también es un paseo encantador desde el centro de la ciudad principal.
