Gingerbreads Snack Bar in Canterbury

We visited Gingerbreads a couple of times in the last couple of weeks the food is always fresh and coffee lovely. Holly and her team also did the catering for my dad's wake. The food was fantastic would 100% recommend using the cafe and for outside catering. The food was all labelled too catering for allergies and dietary requirements. And was all set out for us. Really high quality with a great variety x

I’ve visited this lovely little cafe on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed, there’s is a wide range of hot and cold drinks, food to either eat in or take away. If you want a great bit of grub and a nice hot/cold drink then this is the place to go. The staff there are polite and friendly and always ready to help.

Support local if you can at Gingerbreads - this cafe is friendly, accommodating. Hot food and sandwiches are made quickly and with generous fillings. I hear that there are some financial hardships so please support if you can.

What's not to like. Delicious Panini x 3 Ditto coffee and tea. Great staff. It was our first visit but it won't be our last!

Wow the portion size is amazing in the sarnies. Great value for money and great service. Would highly recommend for a filling lunch

Absolute little gem .... came in to pay for a funeral tea but stayed for coffee which was lovely. VERY friendly staff and superb looking assortment of sweet & savory goodies. The Funeral Tea that we had arranged to be picked up was all ready on time and absolutely BRILLIANT, So much stuff and all beautifully presented, Inc huge variety of sandwiches on gorgeous bread ( not your cheap rubbish !! ) cheeses, hams, chicken nachos, dips, grapes, cakes .... absolutely perfect and befitting the occasion. Absolutely perfect...

I’m always travelling different areas in SE Ldn & East Kent, and always have to share when I find the perfect lil place! Excellent cafe grub to take away. We'll done for great food and covid safe environment.

So after seeing there fantastic photos online I went over with my partner and 2 kids we got hii oh y chocolates cake and bacon bree and cranberry panini or should I say bree cranberry and no bacon absolutely shocking to find that they cut bacon into tiny little slices and put I would say Not even half a slice of bacon in ten panini I took one bite and threw it away disgusted that they feel it’s acceptable to leave out the bacon !

Good food at good prices Just give it a try especially if you like cake Go to the gingerbread once and I know you'll come back for more

Love taking my children into gingerbreads, the staff are aways happy and welcoming and the food and drinks are fab! We had the freakshakes and slushies over the summer and they were so tasty! Made with love. They provide good quality food thats great value, always trying new things to keep the customers happy. My kids are always smiling after a visit.

The best place in town from sandwiches through to sweet treats! Ice creams here are to die for in here. Customer service perfect 😍

I’ve been going past this place for years but it was always after it had closed. Finally today I managed to go there and I was not disappointed. Firstly had one of their strawberry milkshakes which I would highly recommend. It was so creamy and the taste was superb. Me and my partner has two ‘torpedo’ sandwiches and you get so many sandwich for your money. The bread was lovely and soft and overall and really lovely experience. Just so you know they’re open 8am-4pm so would probably advise coming either during your lunch break or once you’ve done the school run.

First time at Gingerbreads. Not impressed with the coffee. Had a Americano which was very weak. Everything else very good. Had some great rolls, made while you wait. Couldn't eat all mine, they wrapped it up nicely to take away. Friendly staff.

I have visited Gingerbreads many times for lunch and I they are brilliant. The staff are cheerful and polite, the food is amazing and I highly recommend you try this place for yourself! You can get lots of lunch options made to order and my favourite is a egg mayonnaise and pickle in a torpedo roll. x

Lovely food and staff nothing to much trouble

Went with friends lunchtime ,Had jacket potato and coronation chicken.Friends had sandwiches .Choices of bread were offered and your own selection of fillings.Staff friendly and attentive nothing too much trouble.

This Cafe is always busy. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Emma the owner is so very nice. The food is very good. Well worth a visit.

I often pop into gingerbreads with my 2 year old daughter, be it for a lite bite or just a cup of tea, we love it, the staff are so friendly and kind and the food is delicious. :-)

The food here is amazing, have the most Amazing milkshakes around. Always very friendly and fast service. No matter if your first time or been many times you will always be made to feel welcome.

When ever I have visited the cafe it has had a very quick service with friendly helpful staff. A few steps away is free parking on the road side so your not tied to the 1 hour parking. A lovely place to meet friends , eat, drink and chat x

We visited Gingerbreads in December as part of my grandchildren’s Christmas present. We arrived and Emma had laid out special tables for us with sweets on which the children loved and was a lovely touch. We all ordered different things, sandwiches, jacket potatoes, cake. Everything was freshly made and delicious!!Highly recommended.

Took my girls to Gingerbreads for a freakshake for a treat after school. The shakes were huge and very reasonable and judging by the empty glasses very enjoyable too!!

First visit to gingerbreads in the Easter holidays , the owner was so lovely! And great with kids. Felt very welcome as soon as we walked in. The freak shakes and hot chocolates were delicious! What I also loved was the prices, I recently went to Margate and had a freakshake which was £6! Never again! If you have a few kids, you need good prices !

Me and my girlfriend had our anniversary lunch here with freak shakes, emma (the owner) had surprised us by decorating the table with love heart sweets and a reserved sign on. Service was outstanding so friendly and welcoming we can’t wait to go back!

Lovely little snack bar. Out side seating. Stay clear when the parents and dropping off and collecting kids. You will be overrun.

My family and I love to go here for lunch! Salad box/ bap or jacket pot are all excellent! They are all very friendly in there and aim to please the most difficult child/ adult. My youngest son loves their gingerbread milkshake! I live their latte which is not to strong but just right for me! Always clean! Oh and the cakes are very yummy too!

Best sandwiches for miles. Staff always very friendly. Spotlessly clean and hygienic. I recommend the "Fat Boy Special" or the "Andy Special" sandwiches. Be brave and try them!! 😂

I had a sausage and egg bap - it was delicious and so huge! And the friendly ladies behind the counter are very friendly and will pay great attention to detail, so your meal and drink are exactly how you want it. I have had paninis before, and milk shakes, and my experience is all positive. Well done, you deserve a prize, ladies!

Gingerbread's snack bar has a warm and friendly atmosphere accompanied by good service and tasty food. It is reasonably priced and run by a lovely family team of ladies. All in all highly recommend should you be in need of a tasty sandwich and a refreshing drink A+ service.

popped into here for the first time the othe rday whilst my car was being serviced, as its a bit off the beaten track, I didn't even know this little snack bar was there, imagine my surprise when after having a chat with the very friendly staff I realised that this little gem of a café has not only been here for ten years, but has been in the same family ownership with the same staff all that time!!! as in my experience cafes seem to come and go quite a bit,they must be doing something very right..I was just going to have a quick coffee but after seeing there lovely menu I decided to have a sandwich as well,it was made to order all the salad was beautifully fresh and crispy and is local, the bread was proper bakery bread not like the supermarket bakery's which I find very doughy and is full of additives The sandwich was filled to the brim,with plenty of chicken which was sliced fillets, not the horrible preslicced chicken and it

A lovely coffee shop which also sells various teas, frappés, hot chocolate and cold drinks. The selection of sandwiches/ rolls/ baguettes / salads is great; everything is freshly made and bought to your table by one of the lovely girls who works there.

i use gingerbreads a lot, it is always absolutely spotlessly clean, i would go as far as to say that this is the cleanest eatery i have ever visited, when not serving the staff are always cleaning...a trait i have not seen elsewhere..the food is always wonderfully fresh and the service is really quick, good if you are in a hurry, the girls are always really friendly and helpful and make you feel very welcome..i love this place...the only times i try to avoid are the school times but apart from those times you can always find a parking place, the shop also has air conditioning which is great on hot days!!!!i would really recommend this little snack bar..the only down side is that it is only open week days

I have been meeting my friends in here most mornings for quite a few years now, as it is in an ideal location very near to Herne Bay Infant and Junior schools. They are open from 8am, and have helped me in the past when I have forgotten one of my children's packed lunches. The whole menu is very reasonably priced, and they have a much wider choice of flavoured coffee's than some other more well known places, but less expensive and served to your table by one of the very friendly and courteous staff. Something that a number of other places severely lack. Nothing is too much trouble, and everyone is always made to feel welcome,..and my children love their ice-creams and hot chocolate. We are very lucky to have such a lovely place to enjoy coffee, a variety of teas as they are always open to new suggestions from their customers. I thoroughly enjoy the variety of choice, and their scrambled egg and bacon in the morning is always an excellent way to start to the day. Please come and visit for yourself, as you will not be disappointed.

I get my lunch from Gingerbreads regularly and the sandwiches and paninis are always delicious, freshly made and excellent value. The milkshakes are nice too!

I have used Gingerbreads regularly over the last few years. I can honestly say the service is fantastic. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Fresh food made to order...their panini's are delicious! Would definitely recommend here to people visiting the town xx

I've being going to gingerbreads since my children went to juniors school Herne bay, thay are 13,16 years now and so much has changed , one thing hasn't and that's gingerbreads. Thier constant good service along with good quality food has never faltered. They make everyone welcome old and new, I started work and my work has become more and more demanding being in the property letting market it's stressful but I know I can come and relax have a good chat with staff and customers alike.

A cafe with a difference. The most amazing sandwich selection at excellent prices. Also offers wide selection of coffee. The staff are extremely courteous and helpful. Definitely one to visit for a lunchtime snack.
