The most loveliest of staff, so friendly. Beautiful indoor and outdoor seating area! Gorgeous looking food, i was working over the road on a tight work schedule unable to leave my post for too long and the lovely lady Brought my take away latte to me!

I was given a gift card for afternoon tea here, my daughter and myself went today, it was such a lovely experience, food staff and atmosphere was really good. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Having Googled Tea Rooms in Herne Bay and this being found it had to be tried, and we are glad we did. A classic tea room with a great theme. Everything is done as you would expect for something portraying a 1940/50's tea room. Food was excellent and cakes delicious. Staff really friendly. Would highly recommend a visit.

Had seen the very positive comments on this so finally got around to visiting. The staff are really pleasant, the ambience with the 40’s music is great and the decor and artifacts really take you back to another time. However it was the selection of teas brewed in a proper teapot and served in bone china cups together with the cream tea that put the icing on the cake as the scones were probably some of the best we’ve ever had a were served warm which we’ve seldom ever experienced before.

Really lovely experience, with a carm relaxing environment, excellent friendly attentive service, and delicious food. We sat in the back garden as it was a hot day, and can really recommend this tea room.

We took a relative born in 1940 to have afternoon tea. We chose to have a Winston Churchill and a Vera Lynn between 4 of us. The sandwiches were delicious along with all the savoury and sweet treats. The old China teacups, tea cosy and tea strainer were a first for the younger members and brought memories flooding back for us oldies. My Aunt reminisced about rationing and what my grandparents did during the war and her mothers prized tea set. A lovely tea and walk down memory lane. The afternoon teas were £19 and £17 there was plenty for us and we’d recommend the cheese and onion chutney filled sandwiches

Popped in for the first time to this wonderful tea shop. The ladies serving were so warm and friendly and suggested we sat in the little garden round the back. We had lovely coffee and toasted fruit bread and had a lovely peaceful relaxing experience. Can't wait to go back there again on our next visit to Herne Bay. Thank you ladies!

This is a lovely little cafe in the heart of Herne Bay. The decor and menu fit the theme of the cafe perfectly. Mum Nan and I had a lovely time and the food is wonderful will be going there again. Thanks a bunch

This place is absolutely unique and charming. We went there for some cake and a cup of tea. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere and decoration really lovely. Our cakes were delicious too 😊.

Really lovely, nicely packaged and tasty. Proper clotted cream with the scone, everything we ordered was clearly made with great ingredients and care. Definitely will order again, would also be a lovely place to order from as a celebration treat for someone.

A lovely first visit here with my sisters in a relaxed atmosphere in the courtyard garden. We enjoyed a cup of tea made the traditional way using loose leaf tea, teapot and tea strainer. A variety of teas on offer. We also tucked into a ploughman's lunch and home made sausage roll. All very delicious. We will definitely return.

Absolute gem in Herne Bay, food was delicious and staff very accommodating. Amazing decor and atmosphere with the light music in the background. I had food in and also took a millionaire shortbread away which was also fabulous.

This is a real gem of a place and one you should definitely seek out when in Herne Bay. From the friendly service to the beautiful vintage decor and theming The Vintage Empire hits all the right notes. For tea lovers there's a great selection of teas from all over the world and a fabulous collection of cakes and scones for those with a sweet tooth. We had a cream tea apeice which with a warm scone and lashings of cream really hit the spot. Great little finishing touches from the tea cozies, ration cards on the tables and the background music all add to the fun. Nice little back garden which in the summer would be a lovely little sun trap. Dog friendly too!

Absolutely kind, pleasant, helpful staff .The lady even took a photo of my guests We had 4 Vera Lynn cream teas Just had to pay extra for cokes as girls didn't drink tea or coffee .

Great service, good food and value for money

We indulged in a Vera Lynn Tea (there were many other options) which was delicious! All served by very friendly staff in 1940s dresses. The sandwiches were made with beautifully fresh bread (choice of white or brown) and we had a choice of fillings. Mum had tuna and cucumber, my daughter had Brie and chutney, and I had egg mayo and cress. These came with tasty homemade scones, cream and jam, complete with fresh strawberry, and also a mini sponge cake and mini slice of chocolate and salted caramel cake. All served with refreshing Pluckley tea from a 'cosy' covered teapot (which was topped up with as much tea as we wanted) and pretty china cups. It was very relaxing as we listened to 1940s music, browsed some interesting war time and home front books and leaflets, and soaked up the atmosphere. A really lovely, cosy, and friendly tearoom.

Loved it. Friendly staff and good food and service in this independent cafe/tearoom. It was the highlight of the day.

Beautiful little tea room with really quirky retro features. The loo is wallpapered with vintage newspapers which is fascinating. The garden was a great place to sit and the staff were so friendly it felt like visiting my granny 😊

Delicious tea. Soup of the day was hot and fresh. Egg mayo sandwich had a bit more mayo than I like but still delicious flavors and bread.

What a joyous find! Absolutely gorgeous tea shop. I sat in the garden and was given a bell to call for attention - it wasn't needed as the service was superb. I had a tuna sandwich and a pot of tea. The menu said 'Ration Menu' but there's no rationing here, fabulously fresh ingredients, generous filling and butter you could taste! I was offered cakes or scones so politely I felt dreadful to decline. I saw soup served in enamel 1940's style bowls, and fat scones arriving for cream teas with a strawberry garnish dusted with icing sugar - just gorgeous, why the hell did I say no?! The afternoon tea menu all sounds delicious. It was my first time in Herne Bay, but I'll be back for tea and scones as soon as I can.

Fantastic little WW2-themed tea room on Herne Bay high street. Simple but lovely fare on the "Rations menu". Well worth a visit. It gets busy at lunch but you can book a table if you know you're going to be arriving then.

I try to call them by type talk for the deaf. They said they don’t have time for this and hang up and ring again. Typetalk explain it for the deaf. They hang up. My wife goes there few times as now never again. Their lost.

Stumbled upon this little gem this morning. Super pleasant staff, our food was lovely and it is so quaint with lots of little vintage items of interest. I didn't have any but they had a beautiful selection of cakes too. I did go with my toddler and her drink was served in a heavy glass, so bring your own drinking cup for little ones.

Strolling along looking for somewhere to get a bacon sandwich and cup of tea when we fell upon this great, quirky, one of a kind tea room. The staff where very friendly, the sandwich perfect and a good selection of different teas. It seems to be a time where coffee shops have taken over so being a tea drinker this place made my day. Only wish I could have stayed around to sample some of the great looking scones and cakes.

We took our granddaughter for lunch. and we all loved it! We've been before several times, but this is the first time since the last lockdown. We were so pleased to find that there is still such a friendly welcoming atmosphere, and the homecooked food is just as tasty. Although our first choice (giant scotch eggs) weren't available when we visited, our second choices were just as delicious. Our granddaughter had a lovely homemade sausage roll with salad (with a tasty 'after eight' hot chocolate drink) my husband had the magnificent ploughmans with salad, and I had a yummy cheese scone with salad and pickles, together with a comforting pot of Pluckley tea each. A relaxing eating experience, all at good prices, with 1940s background music, and friendly, cheerful and attentive staff. What more could you ask? We loved it.

Visited today for afternoon tea, absolutely beautiful, presented on a vintage tier stand, fresh soft sandwiches, tasty fillings, home made Victoria sponge, and perfect scones with jam and clotted cream. Lovely atmosphere with great staff. Will definitely return.

My friend and I visited Herne Bay for the first time and we came across this gem. The staff were so friendly and helpful.. the cakes were to DIE for.. we loved the place so much we went back the next day for afternoon tea!! I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area or even if you aren't and you are looking for a unique place to have delicious food.

A fantastic little cafe, this was our third visit and the food and coffee have been consistently good. Lovely little garden to sit in on a nice day and dog friendly both inside the cafe and in the garden. It is now our go to cafe when we are in Herne Bay.

It was fantastic so much to eat and very very nice,We're so full with lovely food,All I can say is, if you have not tried this little Tearoom you don't no what your missing out on, it well worth going to they have a garden to, There so friendly, we had a very nice time thank you lady's we well be coming again

Was recommended here from a friend who found this place the week before...its a gem..full of war time pieces from cookery books and ration books..even music playing in background was war time. Such a lovely ambience and food was lovely. Had cherry bakewell sponge..yummy

Honestly the most amazing experience. We went twice on our stay in Herne Bay!! The scones were the best I had ever tasted. Everything is homemade and fresh. The ladies are so helpful and lovely and the tea room is dog friendly which is a bonus! We can’t wait to come back. Xxx

What a fantastic little tea room hidden away on a busy high street. It was so good we visited twice during our stay. The little garden out back was a haven away from the bustle of the seafront. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. Service was great, and the bell system for the garden meant you weren't forgotten sitting outside. The cakes and sandwiches were so fresh, and the children's 'evacuee's lunch' was delicious and very reasonably priced. The quaint 1940s decor made it an interesting place to stop for lunch. Worth a visit if passing by.

The Vintage is a really lovely little tea room in Herne Bay with a unique 1940’s theme. The food is always top notch and this visit was no exception. Like the food the staff are always pleasant and go out of their way to make your visit really great.

Lovely staff, the scones and jam are good. We had the Churchill tea and a Vera Lynn. The tea was lovely and hot, but a bit weak and tasteless. Must be the rationing! The advertised Scotch egg was about a quarter of a Scotch egg in reality, which I felt was a bit tight. The menu implies you get a whole one, which you don't. Sandwiches were lovely, but don't expect dainty little triangles! These are doorstep jobs, but the bread and fillings were good. It's 1940s themed, with music to match. No Snoop Dogg here! It's on the High Street, so you can watch Bay life go past, in all its glory! Been here a couple of times, and it's always good. More Scotch egg though, if you want 5 stars!!

Found this little treasure in Herne Bay and what a lovely place! The staff were really helpful and friendly and the food delicious - we ordered the ‘Vera Lynn’ cream tea - delicious sandwiches, Victoria sandwich cake followed by fruit scones with jam and clotted cream.... yum, yum, yum! REAL tea and ‘proper China’ also appeared. We were fortunate not to have to pre-book due to the time we arrived but if you go at lunchtime feel pre-booking a wise idea as you won’t want to miss out. My only sadness is that we found this gem on the last day of our hols....

Where is the first place to go after a pandemic? Why here of course! It is quaint and quirky with the friendliest staff around. Nothing is too much trouble. The menu is the right side of nostalgic with enough variety to keep everyone happy. The food tastes amazing!This tea room should be on your “must visit” list.

Thank god for places like this quaint, hidden gem of a tea room. No concerns with hygiene and all covid restrictions etc very well adhered too.Extremely pleasant staff happy, attentive and very informative.Food was excellent cheese scones to die for warm and just the right size. The best part for me was the decoration I actually felt I had travelled back in time. Love the themed menu options. Cakes taste fresh homemade and exactly what you need after a long day on the beach or walk by the sea. We will most definitely be returning sooner rather than later.
