Ginger Takeaway in Portsmouth

Ordered a take away. Have been a vegetarian for 30 years. They sent buttered chicken when I ordered butter paneer. I ate a mouthful of chicken before I realised. This made me feel sick and obviously ruined the whole meal. Called and they offered to send the paneer - now feeling sick so no thank you. Would not refund the meal - said if I had been a vegetarian for 30 years I should know better than to eat chicken! Disgusted by his attitude, obviously I didn’t eat it purposefully, really upset by the whole experience.

Always love the curry from here and order lots of times but come on 30 small fries for £2.99 is a joke wasn’t even 1/4 of the bag full frozen fries are cheap as chips !!

Terrible food. Do never order from this place. Watery curry sauce with barely any meat in, avoid the lamb as its like dog meat. The rice was lukewarm at best. Naan bread soggy and no taste. This place should ashamed to call itself an Indian. Go elsewhere

Ordered for the first time as my usual Indian just isn’t as good anymore … and wow it was lovely, great portions, friendly staff. Will definitely be ordering again ! Even got 20% off automatically just for ordering over £20 Thanks so much

Not impressed with our order arriving half an hour early (apparently because another order was being delivered in this area). It was lucky we'd got back early. Also ordered fresh papadums in order to avoid the usual takeaway stale freebies, but got stale freebies anyway, not fresh, or spicy, as ordered. Bhajis were very good and veggie curry for the biriani was excellent though the chicken tikka was hard to find. My 'ginger special balti' was far from special and made worse by the resulting hours spent on the toilet during the night and morning. I'd blame the prawns, but who knows but as I wouldn't want to risk that again, I won't be re-visiting.

This place has recently changed hands so we thought we’d give it a go. We were very impressed with the menu which had a lot of different dishes we haven’t seen on other menus. Apparently it’s authentic Bangladeshi cuisine. We were very impressed with the quality of the food and thoroughly enjoyed everything. We will certainly use them again.
