What has happened ! This fantastic restaurant appears to have changed it’s name and the chefs are now not as skilled ! We ordered a takeaway and it was so different in portion size and presentation, The chicken in my stir fry was breaded and rubbery The cashews were missing from my stir fry and worst of all the vege was simply chunks of spring onion and pepper 🫑 The delicate thai flavours have left and instead were replaced with lesser quality poorly presented meals - a drop in the standards of a formerly excellent local restaurant.

Arrived and had to ask for drinks the whole time, food arrived one or dishes at a time. And was nearly cold. Service was shocking, beer was flat in old glasses that need changing. Tried to over charge me for dishes I didn't have or ask for. If you want cold poor quality food this is the place for you I'd recommend bringing your won drinks as the staff are more interested in take aways than people dining in. Added images of cold left over food Had to rate it one but minus 1 would be closer Also delivery drivers littering the restaurant like blokes waiting too take a bird up stairs

This was a take away via Deliveroo for 2 people. Mixed starter was absolutely dreadful- cold satay chicken, rubbery thin fish cake, tempura prawn disgusting and spring roll soggy batter with no filling. And £16.75 a joke. The pad Thai and red prawn curry main not bad At nearly £50 safe to say will not bother to order from you again.

The food is very much same as you have in Thailand. The waiter is very polite and always smile. The ambiance is very nice with tuk tuk in front of the restaurant. I recommend this restaurant to anyone. You won’t be disappointed.

We had high hopes for this place, which has taken over the site of the old Sucheera Thai (which used to be excellent before the pandemic killed it). Sadly, we were really disappointed. The decor, furniture, cutlery, etc is not as swish as Sucheera, but that's OK. Service was keen and the prices looked reasonable. BUT THE FOOD WAS REALLY DISAPPOINTING! The Mixed Starter Platter (£14.95) was pretty grim - the Veg Spring Rolls were large and hand rolled with clunky wrappers and soggy, tasteless fillings. The King Prawn Tempura was unlike any tempura I've ever had - prawn (or prawn meat?) in a thick, heavy, doughy, bread-crumbed outer - we couldn't eat more than a mouthful of it. The Prawn Red Curry was OK, but the Pad Thai was soggy and overcooked and we sent it back and asked to have it taken off the bill. We should have asked for the Starter to have come off the bill too. With hindsight, the fact the waiter didn't query why we had left the majority of the starter should have set alarm bells ringing. The Papaya Salad didn't have much papaya in it either. It should be better than this, as the offshoot of an established business in Tonbridge. Maybe things will improve, they surely need to.

My partner and I were made very welcome when we entered this very attractive restaurant. We shared a starter, the best vegetable spring rolls we'd ever tasted. Our main courses were excellent too. I had a prawn stir fry and my partner had a red curry. My stir fry was exceptionally tasty and included a variety of veg. My partner said it was the best red curry he'd ever tasted. The malbec wine was also fine. The restaurant appeared to be very clean and we felt most comfortable. I wish there was a Thai restaurant like this near where I live.

i made a mistake and left a review on the Tonbridge branch page(sorry) visit this place on friday 10-12-21 friends wanted to eat here but i was a little hesitant thinking this place was still the old thai restaurant Sucheera but was told that the place has been taken over by new ownership (thank goodness!) because the old place ‘Sucheera’ was terrible the food was horrendous and the place was very gloomy and dingy. i live in tunbridge wells and had no idea that this new place had open in place of Sucheera it is now a new Thai call Gaabkao the same ownership as the one in Tonbridge that i visit frequently whenever am in Tonbridge for business so was very happy to hear that this is now in tunbridge wells. The food here was excellent same menu as the Tonbridge branch everything was cooked beautifully and so tasty. i had the salt and pepper squid for starters and the chicken massaman curry for mains and both dish was outstanding also had a cocktail i think it was call bangkok mojito so refreshing. overall this place is very good like it’s Tonbridge counterpart i was just surprised that this had been open for a month or so now! i had no idea! maybe the owners need to advertise or do some promotions to get the buzz out. would highly recommend this place

Great food and a nice atmosphere. Free green tea and a range of healthy freshly made juices. A wide menu and generally, a good service. They have a good range of options that are meat or fish based, vegetarian, vegan, and they even have a gluten-free menu (called a 'no-gluten' menu). The meals may be more calories than you'd think though, so if your worried about your weight, best Google the menu first. Only potential negative is that they often serve your meal and your partner's meal at different times - i.e. they don't time the order to deliver all meals on your table at the same time. You can therefore find yourself either waiting for your partner's meal to arrive whilst yours goes cold or eating on your own whilst you're partner watches. Even worse if there are lots of you! Overall, though, it's a nice experience and the prices are average for that class of restaurant.

Good service but the food was not amazing and it was deadly quiet. Very little meat in the curry and a few mushy king prawns in one of the dishes.

Although we live fairly close to Southborough, this was our first visit to the The Thai Orchid restaurant under the new ownership. To us, it looks a little "tacky" from the outside with plastic flowers adorning the windows. However, its only when you enter, you realise how much effort has been made to change it from the previous soulless interior. Every wall is completely covered in plastic flower displays - it looks stunning. Worth visiting just to admire the decorations! It was a foul night, but it was snug and warm inside. Not a huge menu but more than adequate. Our food arrived, it was piping hot and absolutely delicious and that's an under statement. Very good sized portions so we all left rather full.. All in all, a fabulous meal with outstanding service.
