Called in here with a of cycling friend, while out cycling The food and service was very good, as normal.

Busy, friendly atmosphere with amazing food! The cakes are soo good, always take some home with me. It gets busy so best to book a table but I have also been where I have waited to be seated. Good size portions and coffee is lovely.

Lovely local food, good service and just a nice place to sit, enjoy nature and meet up with friends! The bacon sandwiches are the best, but so is everything else on the menu.

Just love being here tucked away in this peaceful location! Such welcoming service with a smile and amazing food....whatever you have! I love the cheese scones and toasted sandwiches.

Excellent food including lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Staff are very friendly. Lovely atmosphere and surrounding grounds. I especially like the bird table screens where you can see the birds feeding while you enjoy your food and drink.

A lovely & very popular cafe, with great food, friendly service but on occasion it can suffer a bit from it's popularity becoming very busy. But still certainly worth a visit.

We are usually very pleased for Sunday carvery,however, to put the price up by £5 then to say at the end we are offering free coffee and chocs. What an insult. Food wasn't great tough beef I could not cut. Like being in an overly bright classroom.

Just had a great carvery, when the temperature is as high as today, you have to marvel at how the chef and staff cope! Nevertheless, they turned out a lovely meal with excellent service.

A group of us had Christmas lunch there. Beautifully cooked, fresh, homemade food, very welcoming … and reasonably priced !

Popped in here a few times over the past few months, either just for a coffee and snack or a spot of lunch. Good food and coffee on all occasions and reasonably priced. Lovely environment away from the road and peaceful. There are tables inside and out. They accept card payments. Staff friendly. Dog bowls available but you will need to sit outside if you bring your pooch.

Visited Footprints a few days ago with my parents. As my last review was two years ago, thought I should write an update. When you go in at the counter there is a vegan menu! As well as a mini table blackboard. It is great to see a cafe putting effort into being inclusive of all dietary requirements and providing so many options for vegans and others too! The jacket potato with vegan cheese and beans is delicious! It is two jackets and salad (so if you have a smaller appetite like me you could just ask for one jacket) but perfect size for my parents. :D The falafel burger and wedges is a favourite of my dad's! We also love the vegan banana cake (which is usually available) and it is a perfect finish to a meal)! Well done footprints, keep up the great vegan options! :)

We love having lunch here. Staff are so wonderful and the food is fantastic. Added bonus of such beautiful surroundings.

I live round the corner from here but have never actually been for lunch so my 5 year old and I went for a meal on a bank holiday Monday. I had the salad with a burger, and it was tasty, fresh and surprisingly filling and my son had a pizza from the kids menu which was actually made on site and met his seal of approval (which is not always easy to get as he's an incredibly fussy eater!!!). The cakes for desert were also good, and it was very pleasant to be sat outside in enjoying the nice garden they have there. Will definitely return!

Very difficult to pay deposit for Sunday lunch .They don't take payments on the phone .Bank transfer does not verify. So had to go in with cash. I went in person to pay cash . I was asking the lady I had spoken to on the phone. Why they can't take card on the phone. And why the bank transfer from my bank will not verify. I phoned the bank and they said you take the risk if you pay unverified. The manager just gatecrashed the conversation and said "I am the general manager and I implemented the deposit rule. It will not change ! He said I am happy to sit down and discuss this with you. I replied I was not asking for it to change but ...... he did not let me finish he just walked away and went and sat at a table with a customer. SHOCKING CUSTOMER SERVICE!

A fantastic bistro located within the Singleton Environment Centre. They've got a good range of food on the menu, which looks great and comes highly recommended by many people. A great place to sit outside and enjoy a coffee and ice cream during the summer. Parking is free in the car park, which is just a short walk away.

I came here for lunch with a couple of friends as a 50th birthday celebration. The staff were so helpful and kind and really made our lunch enjoyable. The food was also delicious , would definitely recommend, thank you for looking after us so well xxx

Enjoyed the Sunday Carvery today. Nut roast was delicious , food was hot and very generous vegetable portions. Too full for dessert, which is included in the price, so had a carrot cake takeaway. Went down very well with a cuppa later in the day. Service good and staff polite and friendly. Will definitely be paying another visit.

We were a family group (3 generations) including grandchild who is gluten free, which we made clear when booking. They made sure there was a portion of broccoli and cauliflower without cheese sauce and gluten free gravy; and were happy to discuss with her which puddings were suitable. Portions are generous and I think this is the best value for money, quality Sunday Lunch we've found. We've also eaten here for weekday lunches and enjoyed good food and service then too! ALL the staff were very friendly and helpful.

It was great until the management changed.

Footprints is bright and airy - too airy but that’s probably due to Covid. You have to order at a counter reminiscent of a self service canteen, which would be ok if the welcome was warmer. We were told to sit at a small table against a wall in the middle of two open doors but the one thing Footprints has going for it is the large windows and some nice views. I asked if we could sit at a window table and was grudging told by the tall man taking our order that we could. This was at around 11.00 am and only one other table inside was occupied! The coffee wasn’t great and we had a long wait for our bacon rolls, but when they came out - served by a lovely blonde lady - they were tasty! Unfortunately we had finished our small cup of coffee by then and were reluctant to order more. To add to the lack of atmosphere during our visit, there was a tinny radio blaring out hideous pop songs which was sat atop a freezer and pointing towards us; I found this so unnecessary as it prevented us from hearing each other without saying “pardon”, “sorry, what was that”? In addition a man was strimming the grass opposite us through the wide open doors, which I know has to be done but I would have preferred to hear birds singing. The place isn’t cheap but the food, cakes etc looked good and they are very big on using local, organic produce where possible, so that’s a plus. I wouldn’t return however as I prefer to go somewhere more comfortable.

Really fantastic food prepared to order on set. Great Table service & great value. No wonder the Sunday roast needs booking in advance. You are lucky I am writing this as I may just have made the place so busy I can't get in.

we were really disappointed with the service received here today, especially since we had read the reviews and were looking forward to a great day out. There were benches where you could sit outside and a sign that said it was available until 12.45 as it had been reserved which means you can sit there until the time is up, when we went to sit there the large scruffy waiter in black t shirt told us we could not sit there as it was reserved, even though it was clear we could sit there as it was only 11.00am and he was very abrupt and rude about it, further.more when he was wiping ( I use the word lightly) the tables, instead of gathering the crumbs he dropped them on the floor and did not even bother to sweep up! So much for being hygenic in this climate, need less to say we shall not be going back, it doesn't cost a lot to be polite to customers

Fantastic food, friendly staff and under current conditions they’ve made great efforts to make things as safe as possible for everyone. I would encourage anyone who hasn’t tried their Sunday roast to go and do so. Ashford needs more places like this, it really is a fantastic enterprise.

Full English Breakfast for two this morning, beautifully cooked and served in a COVID safe way. Recommend for anyone who is fearing going out to eat. It’s safe and clean and the food standard as good as it ever was.

Went here for the Sunday car very on the recommendation of a friend. Wasn't disappointed. Lovely fresh locally sourced ingredients. , well cooked. Good friendly service. Desserts to die for.. all quite reasonably priced. Will definitely return.

Lovely breakfast. Lovely walks for the kids. Went here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. What a treat it was. Breakfast was cooked fresh, none of this kept warm stuff. The sausage are extremely good, definitely not your bog standard ones, full of flavour and meaty. Eggs perfectly cook and the mushrooms and bacon were fantastic too. Their coffee is also extremely good sod much so I had 2 large lattes The staff are very attentive and polite. Their hand hygiene is spot on. Hands washed after each customer is served and after they attended tables. Lovely atmosphere, plenty of room. Toys for the kidsWell done guys. We’ll be back.

Delicious and great range of vegan options :), even non-vegans enjoyed their foods as we consisted of meat-eaters, gluten-free people, two vegetarians trying Veganuary and a vegan. I had a lovely vegan cheese and tomato toastie. Only disappointment was no vegan cakes . This would add to the options and enable people trying Veganuary to have more options as well.

Went on 2 Dec for the Christmas meal. Pre-booked. For £16.50 each it was amazing value and it couldn't be bettered! An upgrade to the carvery they do on Sundays this meal was generous with plenty of perfectly cooked vegetables and the roast potatoes were excellent. Gravy tasty. All served hot with a smile. The honeycomb dessert option was huge!Coffee great, as ever.Well done everyone. That you can do this with such a small kitchen is amazing!

Food is delicious and plentiful, location is lovely, and the staff are always so warm and friendly. A great place just for coffee and a chat as well as breakfast and lunches. It would be nice if the breakfast menu was available all day

Footprints is now one of our family favourites. The food is fresh, plentiful and really well presented by helpful, friendly staff. The burgers are the best and the ploughman's - especially with ham - is sensational. There's a great menu with so much to choose from, as well as daily specials. There are lots of beverages too. Having eaten at Footprints many times this year and been delighted at the quality, quantity and cost of our meals. The one criticism of Footprints fare is the wine. I have tried red, white and rose but feel the quality did not match the food. Perhaps they could review this offering? There are lots of good and affordable wines on the market.

The quality of the food is amazing, always fresh ingredients and well prepared. A particular favourite is their Magnificent Salad... the clue is in the title ... and it’s amazing, add a chicken breast and it’s a healthy, large main meal!Cakes are homemade and absolutely wonderful. Service is friendly and prices are good. Sunday roast - don’t forget to book as this is very popular and just one visit will show you why :)We are regular visitors!

Breakfast was lovely, although it took over 30 mins to come it was worth the wait.

The food is great and the staff very friendly. I have been there for a Carvery on a Sunday, for activities for children on half term, for breakfast with colleagues, for a coffee and a cake with friends. There is always a reason to spend time at the Environment Centre... The surrounding is beautiful and I very often take the opportunity to take my very lively dog to the woodland ( behind the centre) for hours of fun.

Lovely staff fab food great relaxed atmosphere will visit again soon.We couldn't fault anything local produce everything was perfect for us a true hidden gem.!

Hi there first time here for me today

We booked a Christmas lunch for our PC on 15th December - we numbered 19 and the food was absolutely brilliant and turkey was plentiful and veggies weighed down the table. The whole meal was outstanding! The vegetarian option was raved about by those who required it and the puddings we to die for!

The menu is simple and made to order. The burgers cannot be beaten. As good as a Michelin three star - and at very fair prices. Wonderfully friendly staff. So good I hardly dare recommend it in case I can't get in next time.

Having recently moved to Singleton, I was delighted to be introduced to this great café/bistro. During the week they serve delicious most generous portions of food, prepared in their kitchen. Down to earth food, snacks, jacket potatoes with interesting fillings etc.

Back again for the walkers (not me) Christmas lunch, could it be as good as last years? Well it lived up to expectations, superb meal cooked to perfection, this year ham instead of beef, plus turkey of course.The service from the staff is all as good as you'd get in a top restaurant. Cannot wait for our next visit, prices too are very realistic. Thanks to all.

The food here is freshly cooked to order and really tasty. The cakes are made at the cafe and equally delicious. They also have a gluten free millionaires shortbread, which is very nice.

I read lots of great reviews about breakfast so gave it a try! We were the only people there and breakfast took 40 minutes to come out. When it did, it was very average. The bacon was fatty & the egg was overdone. For the expensive price tag I would’ve expected nicer bread than the shop bought pre-sliced stuff. I would’ve also expected to get more than one sausage and piece of bacon. Service was friendly and the views were lovely, however.

This little gem of a place, tucked away within the Singleton Environment Centre, never fails to disappoint. It's light and airey setting, amid the friendliness of the staff - and other customers, is always a pleasure to come and enjoy a superb, fresh lunch. I've never been able to fault the food and it's 5 star hygiene rating really says it all.

It's a beautiful place to have a meeting, catch up or a break from life, excellent value and highly recommended.

Some one I know recommend this place a couple of years ago now and I'm so glad. We have Sunday lunch there every few weeks and can honestly say that we have never been disappointed. Their nut roast is the best. Also they are generous on the carving of the meat. Highly recommend that you give it a try.

We stopped off here on way back from holiday. Staff very friendly. Cafe is light and airy. Tasty bacon, sausages and fresh mushrooms. Perfect for a relaxing breakfast (with a spot of butterfly spotting on the side). Allergen aware and does soya milk.

Sunday Carvery is great, good choice of meat and veg, lovely yorkies. You must book though as us locals have cottoned on to this. Deserts are fab especially the honeycombe ice cream :-)

Didn't know about this place until my grandparents recommended it. It's great for family's and it's very reasonably priced considering the choice available and the emphasis on local produce.

Always a friendly welcome and really good, honest food. Don't leave without trying the homemade cakes!!

13 of us had Sunday roast and family over from the states had a lovely time the gammon was fab cheers guys

I visited last week with my granddaughter and daughter for lunch. We booked because usually its busy but on this occasion it wasn't. The food was as usual very good but the service wasnt. I hope this little restaurant isnt going to suffer from bad service because as I say the food is really.

I’ve been here twice with my family instead of going out for lunch to a pub on a Sunday and I was pleasantly surprised at how great the roast was! The family who run the restaurant are also very friendly. Reasonably priced also!

Had breakfast here the other day the sausages were burnt and a greasy all round breakfast also although the puddings are home-made they were all a little dry as we sampled a few of them coffee was better I suspect they were reheating the milk and also too hot

Since moving to Ashford my husband and I have been regularly going to Footprints. Whether it is breakfast, lunch, a Sunday roast or just coffee - amazing btw - and cake... we’ve never had something we didn’t like. We love to eat local and there...

We popped into Footprints to try their breakfast and were really pleased we did. All fresh local produce and extremely friendly service. The coffee was also much better than some of the large coffee houses.We are going back after Easter to try the Sunday Roast...

The main courses were very tasty and not particularly expensive. I found the desserts a little too indulgent but I appeared to be in a minority of one in our party.

The Environment Centre is a wonderful place with lots of activities for children. Footprints cafe has good food, locally sourced. Next time we will go for the Sunday carvery.

Recently visited Footprints again for a Sunday Carvery. The food was very good indeed (& plenty of it) - as usual. The staff are very attentive and helpful. Can't comment on the service as, being a Carvery, it's self-service. Certainly a place to visit again - make sure you book!

We've eaten in here on several occasions - Sunday lunch, breakfast and a casual weekday lunch - and have been impressed every time. The food is cooked to order, sourced locally where possible and the staff do their best to accommodate preferences about how things are cooked and served. The portions are generous, the food is tasty and of good quality and reasonably priced. The staff are polite, friendly and efficient. The outside environment is lovely and it's a nice place for children to explore before/after their meal. The big glass doors/windows give you a nice peaceful view while you're eating and bring the outside in when it's not warm enough to be outside. It's not a fancy place and I mean that in a good way, as it's relaxed, comfortable and family friendly.

We ordered 2 mushroom burgers which took 45 minutes! The burger was ok but not worth the long wait... The menu is definitely not for vegans!

This is our 5th visit for Sunday Carvery. The food is delicious. I cook a good roast dinner and when I want a Sunday off this is where we head to as it's the best. Two of us are vegetarians and the nutroast is delicious. The puddings are huge and always scrummy if you can fit them in. Staff are always delightful too!
