Fez in East Hampshire

Amazing!! This is a stunning tiny restaurant, the food is amazing. I can not find the words to describe how amazing it is. Apart from the food the staff are friendly warm and attentive. They know every dish on the menu and give good recommendations, ask how spiced you like your food and it’s prepared how you want it. We will definitely be going back.

Great menu with a range of food including Gluten Free options. Brought some GF bread which was also warmed up for us. Excellent service & were able to take our time in the restaurant. Recommend.

Amazing !!! Delicious food and a cosy welcoming atmosphere. We were looked after really well by Boz and the team. I loved the baklava in particular.

Read a few great reviews, so decided a Saturday lunch visit would make a change from the usual 'pub lunch'. Enjoyed a delicious 2 course meal here with 2 friends. The service was relaxed and friendly, delightful decoration and could not fault the food. Was good to see quite a choice for the veggies (me)! My lunch dishes of hummus with warm strips of pitta and a good size bowl of thick lentil soup with more pitta was 10/10. My friends enjoyed more meaty options and declared the flavours as excellent. Lovely place that deserves the number 1 ranking.

This is a fantastic family run restaurant, providing the very best in Turkish cuisine. The food was amazing, all cooked fresh, and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t eat Turkish food that often. The service was excellent, we asked the waiter to give us food that would truly represent his culture and we were not disappointed. The menu is packed with choice. Definitely a Resturant to visit.

Just had the most lovely meal here. Little cosy venue down an alley, very inviting from the outside. We were looked after by a number of staff, all very friendly and attentive. Food was superb and reasonably priced.

My first time dinning here and what a delight it was. From the moment we entered, I felt such warmth from how friendly and attentive the staff were and how much character the place had. The menu had such a lovely choice of different meals and my lamb dish was absolutely delicious. A big thank you to the gentlemen who was serving us, he made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. I will definitely be returning soon. Thank you Fez!

This was the 2nd time eating at Fez, we ate again last night ( Saturday) and it did not disappoint, delicious warm sharing platter plus some additions, a variety of mains mine being stuffed aubergine and finished off with Baklava and Turkish coffee. My husband and our daughter plus my parents all had delicious meals. We will definitely be returning. And we travelled all the way from N Wales for this!

Great atmosphere in a cosy setting and lovely server. Food was out of this world - one of the best meals out we’ve ever had. These guys really know what they are doing! This place lives up to being #1 in Petersfield.

Such a good place. It's between houses on a very narrow street so a bit hard to find, call them if Google maps get stuck. Food was fantastic and so is service. Definitely going back when there.

The private turkish room for 8+ people is amazing. Cosy authentic atmosphere with amazing service. There is a buffet option for this room which gives you a taste of everything - highly recommend! Our family lived in Turkey for several years so it was lovely to feel like we were in Istanbul in Petersfield. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. What's not to love?

We visit The Fez every few months. The building feels Turkish, cosy and romantic inside. Or perhaps sit outside in the lit side street in the hot evenings and enjoy a cay. Food is exceptional. Prices are reasonable. I recommend the warm shared platter to start and the mixed grill for main, washed down with an Efes draught. Never disappoints

You can’t beat Fez locally for great Turkish food. Yes it’s a small restaurant but what a great atmosphere on a busy Saturday night. We chose the warm mixed mezze to start which included delicious haloumi and Turkish sausage. Then the mixed meat karasik izgara and the grilled lamb - see the photos - both of which were cooked to perfection. Staff are super friendly with nothing too much bother. Nice strong shot at the end too. Highly recommend booking a table.

First visit - nice atmosphere inside and in the little passageway outside. Food good and tasty but some small annoyances: cold meze starters to share for 2 come with 3 dolmades which doesn’t really make sense for a sharing plate and the portion as a whole is on the small side. The mixed meats is a bit same - three different meats (chicken, lamb & kofte but all in the same sauce. Food was very nice, service and welcome very good but could do a little better

We had a day trip to Petersfield today and we’re lucky enough to stumble across this lovely restaurant. It has a holiday feel and the food and service was amazing. I would love to return in the near future and highly recommend.

Have been here several times, usually for lunch. Amazing food and good with Gluten Free. Also happy to warm up from Gluten Free bread for us if we bring some.

All good except Lahmucan Main came as a Starter and had zero lamb topping. Otherwise tasty with plenty of extra lemony salad.

Really enjoyed our meal here - the Turkish pizza was especially tasty, with a good level of spice and very balanced flavours without being overwhelmed by the spice level. The mezze portions were just right although mains are very generous portions. There's also bottomless Turkish tea that is topped up very regularly. The room upstairs with couch seating is very cozy. Service was really good with someone coming up to check on the upstairs client regularly. Enjoyed my visit overall and looking forward to the next meal here!

A little more expensive than previous visits, my two courses plus a shared bottle of strong Turkish red wine [tasty but 15% alcohol] the cost was £35. Only three tables of 4 occupied at a Friday lunch time. Good service, normal friendliness hampered by waitress`s face mask. A lovely cosy restaurant, we went for a family birthday, first time visit. Wanted to have a taste of Mediterranean food as we are not allowed to travel atm!Would have rated 5 stars as the place has lovely friendly staff, authentic decor and music...however the lamb dishes let it down, I would rate them 3 star. They were a bit too chewy, and the presence of gristle or fat in the Sis dishes let it down. The mezze style starters and chicken dishes were all perfect. I would recommend a visit, just avoid the lamb!

Always a fab meal at Fez and on this occasion we had lunch for three. Had pre booked and took a table outside for some shade and a breeze. Staff super friendly as usual and everything was efficient. Food was great, two mixed meat Karisik Izgaras and a lamb mice with rice and salad. Super service with some nice cool drinks too. Very tasty. We need to keep supporting our small businesses and this is a great little restaurant.

We found this hidden gem on a search for a quick bite on a 3 day trip, we've just been back for a second visit as couldn't resist!Really tasty food from a great menu, and to top it off absolutely amazing service from some lovely people.Will definitely be back when passing through again!

The Fez is one of our favourite restauarants in and around Petersfield. But like all other restaurants in England they are closed to in-house bookings due to Covid.However they have put in place a collect and a delivery service. We've used the delivey service a couple of times and the standard remains high. Items included lamb cutlets, lamb shank and chicken on skewers all with the usual accompaniments; all delivered hot and on time on 8 inch square aluminium trays.We hope that other reviewers will also support the Fez during these difficult times as we fear that many good restauants will not survive the lockdown.

Wedding Anniversary and nowhere to go. So we ordered a takeaway from Fez. Simple to do, delivered to the door within half an hour or so. Delicious. Ok, maybe a little cooler than straight to plate when sat in BUT the same tasty food. Give them a try. Support our local restaurants. They deserve our help.

We were seated in the Turkish room (sat on low benches), which took us right back to a great holiday we had in Istanbul, and the food was a further reminder. All dishes were delicious, portions were generous and the waiter was incredibly helpful and attentive. Our only regret is that this restaurant isn’t closer to home or we’d be regulars.

Chose this from TA recommendations, probably wouldn't have found it or considered it as it is tucked away down an alley. Very warm welcome, and although busy with booked guests (on a Friday lunchtime, in February!) we were shown to a table upstairs. Very cosy (= small) but beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean. We had the chef's choice of a sharing platter of warm mezze, which were superb. Just right as a light lunch for two for less than £14. Turkish beer (Efe) new to me, lovely. Overall highly recommended, lovely place.
