Hungry Horse in East Hampshire

Had to ask for a new glass as my first one was dirty. Ordered the Sunday roast to find 3 items listed were missing. Enquired about this to be told ‘yeah sorry we don’t have any’. At no point was this mentioned when we ordered, had we known.. we wouldn’t have bothered ordering. Staff seem to stand around not doing much with certain staff rushing around trying to tend to everyone and do the job of 2 people. £9 for beef, roast potatos, cauliflower stalks and a Yorkshire pudding isn’t for me.

Excellent service from all of the staff. Food was great and it came very quickly. It is definitely value for money, would recommend.

We went today for a Mothers day dinner, we ordered and paid for our meals at the till. We received a starter about 30 minutes later, we finished these but the plates were just left on the table for 50 minutes until we asked the shift manager where our dinner was, he went to the kitchen and returned to say it would be 10 minutes. Another 25 minutes later we asked him again, this time he returned from the kitchen and asked what we in fact, had ordered. We told him and after some contradictory , weak explanation he said it in fact the food had not been started but it would be after another waiting family had received theirs. At this point we had been there 90 minutes and the children were hungry and restless so decided we couldn't wait a further 30 minutes for food. We asked to be refunded which we were after an initial offer of a part refund it was agreed to fully refund us. We met the new general manager a couple of weeks ago who was excellent when we had a similar problem of food be unavailable. He gave hope that things would improve. Today was terrible. Ruined Mothers day for my wife and children.

Me and my friends popped in for a quick meal we really enjoyed the experience. The food was brilliant and the atmosphere was very welcome and one of your staff members Freya was very welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend 10/10

Popped into the Anchor for some food on my way back home after a long journey, came in and got told to put my car registration in the iPad in the bar by the very friendly bar staff member. I then ordered myself the steak and eggs with a breakfast burrito which was cooked fanatically and was all still hot when brought out to me. Would definitely recommend 10/10.

Everyone was really nice and friendly and very happy and they always had a smile o there face. The food and drinks was really good and came quickly.

Worst breakfast I have ever seen. I didn't try it and here is why. I have just bought a mega breakfast from Royal Anchor in Liphook, I traveled from London and my wife’s family live in Midhurst, not too far from here. The breakfast was the worst I’ve ever seen, I didn’t touch it because the sausages weren’t cooked and the bacon was cold. As soon as it came out I said to the lady what is this ? She said sorry but the fryers aren’t working. I was like. What, and you’re serving this. Then I touched the bacon as some looked cooked and some didn’t and it was cold. I even asked the lady that served me to touch the bacon and she apologised as I had cold bacon. And on top of that , they didn’t even serve any mushrooms that was included . I was the only person in there so there wasn’t any pressure. I didn’t touch it as I didn’t want to die of food poisoning. The chef came out as I was complaining about the food he seemed disappointed but still, I was the only person in there , how can you mess up a simple English breakfast. On top of that I had refund and it won’t be in my bank for another week. My advice if you’re looking for a breakfast, there’s a cafe across the road and the breakfast was lovely it’s called Lazy Lizard Yummy , wish I knew before I popped to the Royal Anchor. This is an honest review it is what it is. Raw sausages , Cold bacon, Not the full breakfast as they forgot the mushrooms.

Popped in for a bite to eat and a few beers. Really impressed with the food, top quality steak and a really creamy peppercorn sauce too. Nice to see some real ale looked after as well. It made the experience better.

Hardly anything was on the menu that we ordered. The bar ‘lady’ Yvette (we think) Brown hair & glasses was so rude. She didn’t put one of our orders though & blamed us. Lovely pub. Taylor the chef was great, was served by the lovely Jess on the bar who poured me a brilliant pint. Food was bought out by Flick who is great. Great atmosphere is the pub with fire flickering.

The place was nearly empty- due in no small part to kitchen staffing issues under previous management, which seems a shame for Taylor, the new manager. Went for dinner @ our local the Royal Anchor, Liphook and had the 2 mix it up specials, the 8oz Rumps steaks. Paul the chef did an amazing job food was exactly as it was ordered and cooked amazing. The service from Andy and the rest of the staff was amazing aswell.

Great find in Liphook. We both went for the fish finger baguette. This turned out to be more than a snack with its fresh baguette, cheese and side salad. Very good value. Friendly attentive staff were Martin, Freya, Jessica and Debbie.

We have just moved to the area and the Anchor is just across the road. We decided to pop in for a breakfast to see what it was like. We were greeted by Debbie who was super friendly and welcoming and gave us all the information that we needed. Lots of choices on the breakfast menu but we settled for a full English. The food came out pretty quickly, was hot and once we tucked in was really good. As we ate we looked through the main menu and have to be honest we were really impressed, lots of choices, lots of offers through the week and Fridays and really well priced. We will definitely be regulars

Best hungry horse I've ever been too. Debbie was a great host. Kids deal on Mondays is a lifesaver so under £20 for 3 of us.

Just moved into the village and we needed a hot meal after a hard day with the move. The food and drink was great value and very satisfying. Not only that, the staff - Jessica, Kyle, Martin and Katie - were unfailingly helpful, not least with accommodating our dog. There is no doubt we will be back soon.
