Eat @The Stade in Hastings

The breakfast was lovely. Coffee was good. It's busy but that's a sign of how good it is!

This is a lovely restaurant in a lovely place in Old Hastings! There was a lovely choice of food, they do ficus on fish as in the fishing quarter! The food us freshly cooked, so maybe a bit of wait, especially when busy, when we were there, but well worth it! Good price and friendly staff!!

The food was very pleasant, great atmosphere and fast service. What more can you ask for really?

On a sunny February day, this was a tad warm ! Toilets a bit narrow but clean, food was very hot. Be warned about that. Portions maybe could have been a bit more for the premium price, but it's in a tourist hotspot, so it's going to be pricey. Coffee was great. Noisy kids not great, but it's a small space. Friendly and helpful staff. Would we go again? Yes, but would try other places first.

Lovely little café polite and friendly staff, I think I've found my new go to place to eat in Hastings.

A great place to come to that is nearby to beach and other spots along the seafront and beach areas, all good stuff for a small amount of time at oat times of day, first time here for a light something or other as well.

An nice spot in the winter for sunny weather and a good view out over the old town and towards the beach. A range of things to have here both as a snack and as a main sort of meal, would come back here on a further visit to the area soon.

Always lovely food here, lots of choice and for the children too, my little boy loves his lunches here.

We were greeted by an abrupt male member of staff and we were informed that the kitchen was closed on last 2 occasions that we came here. Both of them on a Sunday afternoon in winter. The place was almost empty. On our second visit we left, because unlike the previous time it wasn't bucketing it down so we could go elsewhere. We have visited previously - mostly in summer, and the the staff were polite and friendly. Bit of a shame because its a great location.

Great location and great service. Food was awesome too. Slow cooked chilli and chips was delicious. Picture attached but half eaten so doesn’t do it justice. Staff were attentive and food came super quick!

We only had a few coffees, but the sandwiches and hamburgers that people ate looked incredible. Very nice place.

The service was amazing, very nice people (my sister got complied on her hair). The food was ready quickly and tasted good. We were lucky and got a seat before it got to full. If you come with a large group of people you should reserve a table. Dogs are allowed in the restaurant, you should be careful if you are allergic. The toilets were clean.

Excellent service, great food and ambience

Enjoyed a lovely lunch with my friend and our doggies, lovely friendly staff. Food was delicious, freshly cooked. Not too busy as it was a Monday, coffee was good.

Catered for our very late booking of seven. Food was excellent and service was very quick and faultless. Would come back and try more from the varied menu.

I went to the outside kiosk a couple of days ago and a lovely blond lady served me and all the ice cream sounded so good and I couldn’t decided what to get and she was very kind and let me try a sample of the rocky road and millionaire shortbread. As they was so yummy, I had to get both in a pot! My daughter got a Lotus Biscoff milkshake and she said it was the best she ever had! It was thick and full of flavour! I will definitely be back to try the milkshake my self!

Chose to go to Eat @ the Stade for breakfast last Monday (May Day) and what a mistake that was! There cannot even be the excuse of being busy, as we got there for opening and food had not even started. We waited 45 mins for breakfast, only to find out that they had misplaced our food order. We did not query earlier as we received our coffees so we thought all was well. By the time we found out breakfast was not on its way it was then too late for breakfast, as the Hastings Jack in the Green parade was due to start. This eatery showed total incompetence and ruined our start to May Day. We will not be returning.

"Eat@The Stade" is the cafe/restaurant associated with "The Stade" (an indoor/outdoor events location in Hastings Old Town). On a trip to the wider area we visited Hastings Old Town, and this was the obvious place to eat. Great coffee/snacks, but the cooked food looks excellent as well (good quality, well prepared items, not a "cheap, pile it high" type of cafe). The Old Town area itself is well worth a visit, espcially on a nice day.

Amazing food and friendly service. They were so busy but treated us with kindness and patience which is very much appreciated with young children. The food was so good we came back the next day! Milkshakes were just beautiful, we were too full for a cake tho, the only disappointment

What a surprise find on a wet and windy day We had actually been going elsewhere and upon arrival had been advised they’d stopped serving early There were 12 of us, all my family that had been down celebrating my 50th and it was the final gathering before heading home. It was chucking it down, have never eaten here before and just poked my head in in the off chance we could all be seated Our lucky day as they had a long bench available Cannot fault the team and the service that morning Breakfast was fabulous. It’s not your cheap and cheerful breakfast but you get what you pay for. Very good quality and well cooked breakfast The family loved it, was better that where we were heading to which had been for a cheep n cheerful fry up so it actually worked out better How have I loved here for 10 years and never been before! “Eat @ The Stade” : Cooked breakfast, sat outside in the sunshine with two hours of excellent live Rock ‘n’ Roll music and dance – this sound like my dream holiday! We were lucky enough to visit “Eat @ The Stade” on the first Sunday morning of Hastings old town carnival week when the “nearly on the” beach concert was in progress. Whilst a wire fence separated the café seating area (that including desk chairs) from the concert area you still felt very much part of the concert – after breakfast it was just a short walk to the concert area where there was plenty of room to dance. PS The cooked breakfast was good!

i ordered my 5 year old son x2 slices of toast with nutella and was charged £6.00! i questioned the price as i genuinely thought the waitress had made a mistake to be told that's correct.. £3.00 for x2 slices of plain toast and £3.00 for the nutella! i told her that's the most expensive toast i've ever herd of and i've visited many nice eatery's in my time! i also ordered some waffles which was absolutely gross! i asked the waiter how they was made and he said they are frozen and then microwaved.. i asked if the cook had forgotten to toast them and he said we don't toast them? they honestly was in edible! the coffe however was very nice.

Prices are reasonable. Staff were excellent. Wife enjoyed her Ham, egg and chips and Oreo milkshake whilst I liked the way my Jacket potato was served. Next time we're in Hastings we know where to go!

Went here for lunch as a family of 10. Luckily we got a long table immediately. Lots of menu choices. Orders taken at counter. There was a very loud band playing outside (nothing to do with the cafe). Although we were told it might take 25 minutes to get food, the drinks arrived straight away and most of the food arrived within 10 minutes. The food was excellent and the service was very friendly. Although this place is right on the sea front, there is no view, as it backs onto outdoor concert area and beach huts. Nevertheless good value for money.

Good for larger families. Great range of options. Goats cheese salad was superb as was the ham, egg and chips. Looking forward to.visitimg again!

We wanted to sit inside as it was a little blowy! Lovely decor! Really attentive staff! Great service and lovely relaxed ambience. my husband is a fussy eater, so it’s always hit and miss as to whether he will enjoy what’s on offer! The burger and chips were to die for! Good coffee too! A special mention to Marcus our super attentive assistant who was here on work experience!! My advice to the guys at eat@the stade… employ Marcus today!! Will definitely come back!

We went to Eat @The Stade at about 14.40 hrs for a lunch when other nearby places were packed out or were stopping lunchtime service. What a find it was - the Goats cheese salad was generous and tasted great. The service was efficient and very friendly. Would recommend!

Wouldn’t eat here ever again. Terrible service a very rude polish or what ever it was waiter. Shocking prices.could get a roast dinner for the cost of a breakfast in this place. Welll overrated.not for the locals this one. That’s ok just don’t expect us...

This place seems to think it’s set in central london when charging 12.50 for a breakfast in a struggling seaside and £4.95 for 2 slices of toast? £8.95 for egg on toast? This place is an absolute con.staff are absolutely clueless and the women that wasn’t English was terrible.about as much use a chocolate fire guard! And p.a fishers butchers is no way locally sourced stuff. We stopped using that butcher years ago as it’s about as locally sourced as sugar cane! So how they can say p.a fishers meat is locally sourced is a complete lie! Will never return to here. We had to ask for cutlery and sauces with a breakfast. These things should come without asking. Run by a bunch of money grabbing con artists. Not fit and cost offevti r for locals.this is set up for Londoners not hastings people but wasn’t it our taxes that funded this in the first place.

Been visiting here since it opened. Always go here when visiting Hastings for the day. But since lockdown menu had changed and prices increased (i can see they need to cover increased costs). Some items have gone (organic baguette with ham and coleslaw) always bought...

Still a great café but sad that the menu has less options than before lockdown.

Lovely staff, very friendly, very clean, food was ok but the battered fish sticks seemed over cooked & hardly any fish inside, mostly batter & a bit hard as did the chips. But still tasted ok.

Happened to be passing and stopped for breakfast. Not the most attractive building in town but nicely decorated nonetheless. Staff friendly and the breakfasts we had were really nice with good ingredients and well presented.

Visited today on my own initially with a baby in buggy and a puppy and was made most welcome. I only had an en excellent flat white ( really good) and some fries ( good too with skin on) whilst I waited for the rest...

Dropped in here on the spur of the moment and the staff were friendly and very efficient. Coffees were excellent and served just as we requested. The only minor issue was that we ordered a fish finger sandwich. When it arrived, the fish fingers were battered and looked like they had been deep fried. Although they tasted fine, I think the fact that they were battered should have been included on the menu.

Loved this place, only popped in for lunch, everybody was so welcoming. Prices and menu selection were both excellent. A well deserved 5 stars.

Found this place during a seafront walk. Food was superb, staff friendly and excellent service. Good choice of light meals and drinks, including local beers. Recommend the Americano burger 🍔

Been going here since it opened, even during covid restrictions when serving minimal menu. Now new menu being served. No toasted ham and cheese sandwiches. It's Paninis (whatever they are?) Used to do a nice baguette with lovely ham and salad, but gone forever unfortunately....

Visited here today for the 1st time despite living in Hastings,had a lovely breakfast,I happen to be gluten intolerant, so luckily the did a few items I could have,had a breakfast which was lovely,but same price as ordinary one,although not as many items on mine..

I went here for lunch today after a day out in Hastings and can I just say the food was absolutely fantastic! The menu had such a range of food and the portions were absolutely spot on. Wonderful food and lovely staff, would definitely recommend.

Great place to go for a nice breakfast/lunch. Very close to Rock-a-nore car park so good place to stop for a quick bite or coffee. The staff are always welcoming and friendly as I have been there many times, and will continue to go back. Only 4 stars as I always think there is room for improvement anywhere you go, so this is not a reflection on the great place this is 😃

Me and my family had a very enjoyable light lunch here after a walk about town. My wrap with salad and oreo milkshake was superb. My Mum was particularly impressed with how superb her own milkshake was which was vanilla flavoured. Great service and great seagull patrol by the staff.

We called in a couple of times whilst in Hasting just for coffee. Excellent service and the coffee was really good. Food also looked and smelt nice but it was not our time to eat. Very clean and modern with a nice seating area outside.

This place really is a little gem. They do THE BEST burgers. All the food is really fresh and tasty. The waitresses are lovely. Food is served really quickly. The only downside was the killer seagulls that attacked our table as soon as we got up but that was our fault for not thinking. Can completely recommend this place!

Really lovely coffee and hot chocolate - although two out of the three were a little on the cold side - great location. Both times we've been recently there's been pastries and no dairy free option for a little sweet treat! Which is a shame I think but wouldn't stop us going back again because the seating outside is particularly gorgeous :)

A cool/quiet place, located steps from the beach. Refreshingly iced mocha and coffee (taken inside) helped take the heat out of the height of the day.

I had the full English breakfast, it was absolutely scrummy with top quality produce and healthy portions. The young staff were very polite, helpful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble

Used to love going here but after last couple of times it's got worse don't think I'll be back

The food was excellent, the prices were so reasonable and the staff were friendly and welcoming! Very well laid out from a covid perspective. The menus were cleaned down with disinfectant and benches/tables were thoroughly cleaned after each customer. I felt very safe! For the reviews that say ‘disgusting, expensive and unfriendly staff’ they are so sorely wrong. Don’t let this put you off. Lovely place.

Found this place today by chance- really pleased! The service is outstanding, with virtually all staff kind and attending despite being very busy. Impressed with the amount of vegetarian and vegan options. I also thought the food is good value for money. Will come again! The only thing I am not wild about is probably the decor - the building itself is amazing, but the interior is painfully bare.
