Poor service. Had to ask for a clean glass. Had to ask twice for a knife as the waitress forgot the first time. Seemed like it was too much trouble. Had to ask for an actual copy of the bill as I was just given the card machine with an amount on. Pancakes we're "home made and fluffy" tasted very far from home made and certainly weren't fluffy. Maybe we just went on an off day but we personally wouldn't rush back. 😕

What a lovely little cafe/restaurant, very warm cheeky welcome, I absolutely loved the decor and warm feeling. The 3 other diners with me all had amazing dishes, my macaroni cheese could have been a little more flavoursome. Sorry 😐 but I did love this place apart from that one issue. I would definitely recommend

Love place . Setting is beautiful, particularly in spring time sunshine. However, food has down in standard. A simple panini made to be tasteless and uninteresting. Such a shame as the Driftwood did use to serve tasteful food.

I didn’t have a great time here. Won’t be coming back to this place. My dog and I were in the backyard/open space of the cafe. My dog has weed on the tree and the not so friendly lady approached me and told me and my dog to go out because dogs should not use it as a toilet. There’s no sign saying not to let dogs wee there, also place said it’s dog friendly. She even told the old woman not to put the dog on her lap while she’s sitting on a chair. I don’t mind if they tell you in a polite manner.. but the way she spoke was very unwelcoming. Food does not taste great anyway. I bet she is the manager.. but she should learn to talk in a nice way to people.

Beautiful cafe situated in emsworth high street. Very cosy but lots of seating. Outdoor garden space and a separate indoor glass are for people with dogs. Sat in glass area as had a dog, very cosy and warm and extra blankets provided if needed. Table service and staff were very friendly. Ordered cakes and tea. Scone was freshly baked and delicious. Range of sounds and sarnies pain is etc available too. Toilets where modern and clean. Would recommend if in the area.

Queued in cold - seated by polite team member. Waited over 15 minutes to order a drink. Then 30 minutes plus for sausage baps… Sausages, two small ones sliced lengthways, were lost in an airy ‘Westbourne bap’ - additional fried egg was ‘snotty’. Distinctly underwhelming food - & staff seemed hurried & harassed, a shame as have had many more pleasant experiences here previously.

I have been here multiple times now and absolutely love it! Whether it's breakfast or lunch, there is always some lovely food to choose from (and cake!!). The service was a 4 this time only because I asked for some cakes to be put in a takeaway bag for me and for some reason she made me stand outside and then took ages to actually bring them out, I had to go back in and they were just on the side melting away... However the cakes were amazing!

I went to pay for lunch and was surprised by the price as it was obviously not right. I queried it politely with them but the senior staff member seemed unable to find our itemised bill. She got a calculator to work out the cost and just said £10 going back to your card. That’s all she said no apology or even an explanation!!!! So ignorant. Please everyone check your bills as i was not going to check as I’m not great at maths! I wonder how often this is happening to people and how much they are taking in from these careless errors!!!

Came Tuesday Afternoon, very quiet around 3 tables inside. Waited outside for 20 minutes to be seated, went in to ask if we could have a garden table with our dog and was rudely addressed by the staff, no apology for ignoring us while they stood round the coffee machine looking out the window. Told us that we needed wait, had said we had been for 20 minutes and then she argued that. Won’t be coming back, nothing like the one in West Wittering, can’t comment on the food imagine it’ll be alright if you ever actually get seated. Stopped off in Emsworth for coffee on the way to Portsmouth and The Driftwood was recommended by a friendly local. The place was bustling by 10:30, but we didn't have long to wait to get seated. Staff extremely welcoming and helpful. As you would expect in a coastal town, there was a distinct marine vibe to the decor but it was tastefully done, with paintings by local artists featuring large. The scones were super fresh and fluffy and the coffee was good quality. The Flat White could have been made a little stronger but that is a minor criticism. A pleasant experience all round.

A disappointing visit to Driftwood Cafe on Saturday. The staff were friendly and helpful but the food was not as good as on a previous visit. Starting with the positives, the flat white was very good, and very hot which is what I requested. It was in a good sized cup too, not a massive boat that you sometimes get in other coffee shops. I ordered the vegetarian sausage roll which comes with chutney and salad garnish. The sausage roll was clearly heated in the microwave and was far too hot to eat. I almost burnt my mouth. I told the waitress who kindly gave me a cold, normal sausage roll. But it was the salad garnish that made the meal so depressing. If you are going to use bags of salad, please make sure they aren’t limp and dry on the plate. I would rather have not had the salad at all as it added nothing to the meal. How about a few leaves from a Little Gem, a few sliced tomatoes and some red onion? And a dressing too to liven it up. The Driftwood is a beautiful cafe, I just wish the plates were double-checked before they left the kitchen.

My family and I went for lunch with my 9 week old puppy wrapped in a blanket. After taking our order I was told that I must put my tiny little puppy on the floor and that she wasn’t allowed to sit wrapped up on my knee, bearing in mind we where sat outside in the courtyard. We tried to reason with the waitress but were told the rules were very strict and that the tiny 2k puppy had to go on the floor. Why pretend to be dog friendly when you are clearly not. Because there was absolutely no flexibility on this rule we had to get up and leave. What a very disappointing experience. Absolutely ridiculous.
