My husband booked Damson for our 1 year wedding anniversary and what a memorable experience that was! The food was some of the best we’ve had. Chefs that seriously know what they’re doing! Lovely staff, perfect ambience. Couldn’t have asked for more. Will 100% be back and singing your praises! The handwritten card for our anniversary was a special touch. Thank you again. 🤍

Henry and his carefully curated team create a wonderful atmosphere to enjoy delicious and innovative food. The restaurant itself is beautifully presented giving a sense of luxury but not over pretentious. The food itself is not just a feast for the eyes but it tastes every bit as delightful as it looks on the plate. I would strongly recommend visiting Damson for a welcoming fine dining experience.

Superb imaginative and very tasty food with first class friendly service. Excellent value for such high qualty cooking. The stand out dish was the custard tart - best we've ever eaten (closely followed by the salt roasted celeriac). The Minervois wine was top notch.

A whole experience. Not only in the food itself but the atmosphere created by the friendly staff, warm atmosphere and seeing the chefs at work with such diligence behind the counter. The food, of course being the main draw, deserves every single praise. Each dish so beautifully balanced in portion, presentation and flavours. Don’t overlook the cocktail menu..

The dishes are so well conceived and presented. Locally sourced, in-season ingredients combined perfectly in all three dishes. The staff are knowledgeable and attentive, and the restaurant itself has a nice ambiance. Attention to detail in all areas.

Lovely cooked breakfast, great that you can select exactly which items you want as I personally hate beans and hash browns on a breakfast, so could easily avoid those and have extra mushrooms and tomatoes! Service was efficient, the breakfast was freshly cooked to order. It wasn’t overly greasy and was piping hot. Very much enjoyed. Giving 4 stars only because the cutlery is absolutely terrible to use! Knife blunt and uncomfortable to hold (jabs into hands), and as the bacon was slightly overdone (I don’t mind, I prefer it this way that the other) the knife was useless for cutting through it which was a tad annoying. This said, if passing through Lambourn again would absolutely return. Many thanks.

A Well cooked meal, hot and well presented. The Ibex is situated in Chaddleworth, a pretty village in West Berkshire, about 7 miles North of Newbury. A good chef.

The little skewers were nice. The lemon sole and ravioli special were satisfyinf and tasty dishes, but the mackeral was very ordinary and the crab souufle was disappointingly small. The menu offers mackeral with aubergines, but the amount of aubergines was derisory. The crab accompaniment of leeks was a thimblefull, and one should request a magnifying glass to find the tomatoes with the potatoes. The worst was the cider - we ordered half pints and got tiny portions in wine glasses. My guest is a member of the gourmet Food Writers' Guild and even she was surprised by the meanness. The service was OK, but not worth the fixed charge of 12.5%.
