Tasty lunch in pleasant surroundings. Friendly helpful staff. I had the cheddar and ham ploughman's and my wife had a bacon and brie panini

Although not busy, there wasn't a clean table available so we cleared one ourselves, as did another couple. The following service and food were very good. We had coffees and sandwiches as we weren't too hungry. On arrival, I thought the plates were for someone who had ordered lunch! A decent portion of fresh salad sat at one end of the plates with sandwiches the other and a pile of nachos in the middle. The plates were full. Decent price. Ideal for a break when visiting the D-Day museum. Friendly staff,

First time visit to the cafe situated in the D Day Museum in Southsea. The cafe is at the back of the reception area and there were a number of tables although not overly busy. We ordered a hot choc, tea and two muffins. All were ok albeit the hot choc cost £4. That seemed steep for what it was - no extras eg cream, sprinkles or marshmallows. I know things have gone up in price but a basic hot choc still needs to be in the £3 range for me. Service was good - no issues with that.

I had visited this place with my wife in October and came back down again with my father-in-law. On this occasion we had decided to call down when the weather was really bad and when we arrived in the driving rain on Monday 21 Nov, we were the only people at the museum. We did the tour which took us two hours and then called in on the cafe to relax and have a cup of tea and an expensive slice of delicious cake. Cups of teas are realistically priced, but a slice of cake was over £3. Anyway, the slice of cake looked so good I couldn't resist it and to hell with the cost. Service was excellent and very efficient which I suppose it would be as we were the only two people in the cafe. Thank you for a refreshing cup of tea we did enjoy.

Popped into the cafe for coffee and a snack. Asked for a white American and a latte. Was presented with a cappuccino and a white American. Said I had asked for a latte but was advised by young man behind the counter it stated cappuccino on the ticket his colleague had given him. The L did resemble a C. He then asked me if i wanted him to make another but then said that a cappuccino and a latte are basically the same thing. That is just pure ignorance on his behalf. Maybe he should be advised that a cappuccino is frothy and a latte is heated warm milk and a very different coffee altogether. I sat at my table and took a bite from the chocolate chip biscuit I had also purchased, this was out of date. When I advised the staff this was the case the were not in the slightest bit bothered. I have been using this cafe for a number of years and as far as I am concerned this cafe has gone right downhill. Also I feel that some customer service skills are needed by your staff. SUCH A SHAME

This was the worst panini of my life (chicken and pesto). The most meagre amount of chicken I’ve ever been served, lowest possible quality. So little pesto I couldn’t taste any, £5.50. My girlfriends “pesto sun dried tomato and mozzarella” equally poor. Very dissatisfied.

Me emocioné mucho.

Demasiado caro, lento, torpemente servido.

I visited this lovely cafe with my walking group yesterday. The atmosphere generated by the staff is spot on. Teresa, Toni (I May have that name wrong, sorry) provide great service with their humour and attention to detail. We sat outside and were very surprised to be asked if we would like some tap water. The service made our day and we will certainly be back.

My wife and I visited this here on a nice sunny day in July. The two staff were very talkative and very friendly, There was a nice selection of cakes and other bits and pieces on display. Resisting the cake I ordered a scone and butter/jam, and two coffees. The scone and coffees were very nice. Pleasant place to visit. Why your here try and have a good look round. My only comment is in my opinion they need to stock a catering size spread to offer the customers as an alternative to butter. Other than this-top marks.

My meetup group went on a seafront walk from the D Day Museum to Old Portsmouth, we had a bite to eat and a drink and then a few of us walked back to the Museum and decided to have some tea and cake in the D Day Café. I hadn't visited the café since the D Day Museum was refurbished. It was truly lovely, we sat outside 5 or 6 of us and had drinks and a couple had cake. The staff were so friendly and the food and drink on offer was such good value. We will visit again. We were having such a lovely cuppa and chat that we didn't notice they had cleared up around us to close, but the nice thing was they didn't hurry us along. Try them, you wont be disappointed.

Visited this pub and stayed about 2 years ago, lovely rooms, great pub, cosy & inviting, great atmosphere and food. Visited pub this Easter weekend, well I was shocked! I assume changed hands as now run down and empty considering 8.30pm on Saturday evening. Not sure what it's meant to be but certainly didn't feel like a pub, more like a cross between a village hall and an Indian restaurant when you look at furniture. Place full of tables set for diners with mismatch metal chairs garden furniture and high back chairs from a restaurant, no comfortable sitting at all. Felt awkward sitting there for the 1 drink we had and they were already clearing bar to close for the night. Cold and clinical lighting and I won't mention the toilets! Disappointed visit and sad that the pub has lost its charm. Won't be visiting again plenty of other lovely pubs just a few 100 yards away.

Gilley’s Diner in Portsmouth, NH, is a hidden gem for anyone looking for classic diner food in a charming, nostalgic setting. My wife and I stopped by for a quick bite and were impressed by the experience. She ordered a hot dog with fries, and I opted for a double cheeseburger with fries. Both were served within 5 minutes, hot, fresh, and full of flavor. Despite the small menu, the food is top-notch for diner fare, and the friendly service adds to the experience. The diner itself is small and quaint, with only six seats, but the charm of this old food truck-turned-diner more than makes up for it. The service was fantastic—there's only one person running the place, and she handled everything seamlessly. If I lived in the area, I'd be here at least once a month. Highly recommend for anyone craving a quick, delicious meal in a cozy, old-school diner atmosphere.

Pub real, gente estupenda, gran personal, mucha diversión.

What a lovely place! Right on the sea front with amazing views. Due to the pending Storm Ashley, the el fresco terrace was out of bounds. Such a shame it's a total suntrap! A A great atmosphere and the staff were chilled, happy, and efficient. There's a great choice of food on the menu, and not just 'sea-side' food. We had the small bites. The decor is spot on and trendy. You can even hire it out for private functions! Oh, and all the great varieties of bread are baked in-house.
