A wonderful place to dine. The staff are amazing & the food is delicious. After recently reconnecting with a friend I hadn’t seen for 48 years, we choose this particular restaurant today to meet for lunch & celebrate in style. It was a very emotional reunion & the staff went above & beyond to make our day a perfect one. Thank you so much.

Lovely food although the fish pie was only pub grub. However the Breton chicken, Breton fish stew, lamb rump and chacuterie starter were great. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Our go-to restaurant for great occasions, even for meals that are just standard, regular, not-special meet-ups with friends, the family or an individual as they always become special because of the staff, nice food, atmosphere and the fact that Cote gives us the nearest experience of a quick trip to Paris for a meal in a typical brasserie. So many special occasions result from what starts as a routine decision to meet up here. The staff are simply great, always friendly, smiley, welcoming and ready to help out in whatever way they can. Top-notch, memorable experiences at everyday prices, too.

Took our friends out as it was my friends husbands birthday. We all enjoyed our meal. Our friends really enjoyed the restaurant and commented on the good, friendly atmosphere and friendly waitress. The food was perfection. We will all be back very soon and will be recommend this restaurant to others.

Having been to Newcastle Cote twice now, and with another date booked, I can only compliment the restaurant on the excellent food and service. The ' Prix' or set menu is excellent value with a good selection of choices.

Food was delicious. Extremely good value for money. This restaurant is a delight to visit. Ambience, food, service all excellent. We loved it and decided to return regularly each month. Probably bringing friends too!

Pleased to see Cote was busy when we went on Saturday night. Six of us all had outstanding meals. Service was friendly and paced just right. Very good value for money, the bottle of Crement we had was delicious! Have been here before as well as several other Cote restaurants and it has always been top notch. I visited Cote Brasserie in Newcastle last week on the 19th of December, for lunch and had a wonderful experience. The service was friendly, and the food was served rapidly and beautifully cooked and presented

We have been there regularly when visiting Newcastle - consistant high quality of food and service.

Friendly stuff and nice environment. I ordered 3 courses Christmas meal from here. The first dish was parsnip soup which was thick but not that creamy, but the highlight was the sprinkling of chopped chestnuts and shredded apples, which added a lot of flavor to the soup The second dish is the Turkey paupiette, which is actually bacon wrapped Turkey, Turkey wrapped in pork, with a layer of sweet root vegetables underneath, come with cranberry sauce (delicious on the meat), roasted bean stalks, broccoli, turnips and potato slices. The vegetable ingredients are similar to those of sunday roast The third course is cream brûlée, featuring the top of (seems to be) currants (extremely sour, not recommended) and orange, which is surprisingly good with the brûlée

Visited twice before Christmas. Some classic cuisine and excellent service. Not overpriced. Deserves to be fuller!

I went for breakfast. When I asked to be seated the waiter gave an excuse saying the place was full and by the time they have space it would be lunch time already. When I was leaving i saw a couple enter the restaurant and through the window i saw the waiter entertaining them. I went back in and saw the waiter giving them a table and they even said they didn’t like where the table was and asked to be relocated and the waiter relocated them. I am an asian and I just felt the waiter was being racist. I may be wrong but that is how the waiter made me feel. She didn’t explain herself and just waved us off. While welcoming the white couple.

I think there are nicer ways to tell the clients you don’t have any tables, arrived with my husband and there was no hostess on the entrance so we walked to an empty table while still looking for someone on the staff who could tell us if it was ok to sit there, someone appeared behind us, my husband asked if we could sit at that table and the answer in a very snarky way was: not if you don’t have a reservation. maybe a: we are totally booked sorry, even with out the sorry would have being ok instead of the snarky answer and force smile with gritting teeth.

15 of us had the Christmas menu this evening it was superb. Could not fault a thing. Sadly didn't get the name of the girl who served us upstairs but she was magnificent. Probably our best Christmas meal

We decided to have breakfast this morning and although the restaurant was quite full, there were still some tables available. The atmosphere was excellent, the place was warm and nice. We ordered two cappuccinos, which were nice. I ordered avocado and poached eggs and my husband the vegan breakfast. We waited over 30 minutes for the two breakfasts to arrive, by which time our coffees were cold. My poached eggs were slightly overcooked, and both breakfasts were tepid except the mushrooms, which were nice and warm.

Delicious food and great atmosphere. Seems like a reliable place. Edit Nov '23: we arrived for breakfast at 9:30 am when the place was almost empty and got seated. Many tables came, ate and left and we were still without breakfast. It took more than 60 minutes to get served. I understand that it's a busy time of year, but we felt that we had priority over the newly arrived tables that got served ahead of us. But was it worth the wait? Not so much. My original impression of this restaurant was great. This second impression has put a damper in my opinion

Lovely lunch. Steak and chips with a French twist.

I usually love this restaurant but this was a really bad experience, the service was terrible. 2 and a half hours at our table for 2 courses & 2 drinks and we both just wanted to leave so bad, we were waiting forever for everything it took half an hour to even get our first drink! and I had to ask where my desert was as it had been half an hour and then she added the dessert on our bill twice so then had to wait some more for that to be sorted… like it really wasn’t worth the money and I wish we had went somewhere else. I work in hospitality myself and I know how difficult it can be but to not apologise and not offer us anything for your mistakes and the long wait when we clearly weren't happy or satisfied is just really poor service.

Popped in on Friday before the opera, was not expecting too much as I was viewing this as a chain restaurant but the kitchen proved to be a real kitchen, all dishes and wine were great and I loved the cheeseboard. Service was just as I liked it, friendly, helpful but not over fussy.

Outstanding service through the entire evening! This is the place to go if you are looking for a taste of French cuisine done right. From the confit duck à l’orange ( best duck I’ve ever had) to the creme caramel dessert! Special mention to the smoked salmon croquettes, those have my heart too!! Olives, fougasse.. and baked Camembert. Need to come back and try the rest of the menu 😄

The full english breakfast was disappointing. Although it tasted good, for £10.75 we got only one sausage, no beans, a very small amount of egg and FOUR slices of bread. We were glad to get a table without booking, but service was very slow. A 10% service charge was put on the bill even though it was just breakfast for two people, i hope i’m not being rude or anything but i don’t think this was very fair.

Das Personal an der Receptionn ist freundlich, auch im Speisesaal. Das Zimmermädchen jedoch kam ohne Voranmeldung (kein Klopfen oder Rufen) früh morgends einfach ins Zimmer. Zum Glück hatte mein Mann die Tür mit Kette gesichert. Wir waren gerade am Anziehen.

Lovely meal food was lovely the thing that spoilt it was twice 2 young men were sat behind us both on their mobiles watching you tube and tick toks which was very off putting perhaps a no mobile phones at the table might help.

Cote always seems a reliable option. Today they had a brunch menu, as well as regular fare. Portions good, (duck a l'orange and Camembert to share as starter) . Service was good and very nice ambiance in Newcastle. Only real comment is that it is perhaps slightly pricey for what it is, especially as we had mostly soft drinks.

My First time visit COTE in NCL It was delicious crème brûlée it was a such a nice treat! Perfect high quality and the taste and texture reflects that. These are super smooth and creamy without being too heavy or over the top sweet.

Absolutely marvellous breakfast experience! Beautiful interior and great service, the scrambled eggs were divine, the French black pudding was a positive surprise and the pastries were fresh and baked to perfection. The only issue was that the temperature of the food could be higher when it was brought to us - it cooled down fairly quickly. Other than that I loved it and can't wait to be back!
